@HappyDonkey75 I’m sorry to hear about your knee pain. I hope you get some answers and feel better soon! 💞
I’ve heard similar things from friends when they go off or lower the dose of their GLP meds. The chatter in their brain is louder they said. Did you have it before going on GLP med? I’m curious, is it back to what it was before the GLP or is it something that develops after being on them? I have food chatter all the time! 😬0 -

WFTY: Sustainable. I just like food. I like eating. And I really, REALLY don't like telling myself 'no' when it comes to food! It's especially challenging because I'm quite happy with how my body feels and what it can do. But I know that over time, continuing to gain weight is likely to result in health issues. And a more immediate concern is that I'm outgrowing my clothes! UGH.
I'm great at making myself DO things. But I really, really suck at NOT doing things.2020 WFTY: Progress. 2021 WFTY: Persistence. 2022 WFTY: Focus. 2023 WFTY: Priorities2 -
Been reading along but haven't posted as I'm not making any effort at all!
@HappyDonkey75 I hope you can get your knee issues resolved soon.
@cschmitz110515 I've never seen an upside down rainbow either, how unusual. Hope your doggo's op goes smoothly and he's back to walking soon.
@PackerFanInGB I hope you are continuing to do well.
@clicketykeys Snap! I am growing out of my trousers! Not happy about that.
I have every intention of making the effort to lose weight soon, my trousers will force me to do that as I don't like them being tight. Right now, I'm still not in control of my kitchen (or the rest of my house, come to that!) as my family are still living with me. It's mostly okay but I find the noise and the bickering hard to cope with. They've been here double the time expected, and the build is nowhere near finished yet, now hoping for just before Christmas. I'm looking forward to cooking for myself again, with more veg.
Very frosty and chilly today, and I have a cold (thanks family ) so won't be going further than the supermarket.

@HappyDonkey75 Sucks about your knee. Hope it gets better soon!
@cschmitz110515 That is the coolest rainbow ever.
The circumzenithal arc, also called the circumzenith arc (CZA), the upside-down rainbow, and the Bravais arc,[1] is an optical phenomenon similar in appearance to a rainbow, but belonging to the family of halos arising from refraction of sunlight through ice crystals, generally in cirrus or cirrostratus clouds, rather than from raindrops. The arc is located a considerable distance (approximately 46°) above the observed Sun and at most forms a quarter of a circle centered on the zenith.
Mom's termite inspection revealed termites, cockroaches and mice...Oh my! Roach treatment is today, we had to completely remove everything from the kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets. I still feel creepy crawly today after being there, but all of the cabinets are empty and scrubbed. Termite treatment is December 2, and the cats are just going to have to start earning their keep. Mom is concerned about the cost. The roach treatment is $250, but will take multiple treatments and the termite treatment is $1200, but should be a one time thing. I told her I'd take care of it, but she doesn't remember that part. The exterminator said the pests are probably all over the neighborhood not just mom's place, but I can't help but wonder if she is unable to care for the place herself.
Lots to do at work today. Borderline overwhelming this week actually. Of course, I forgot my gate pass this morning and had to drive home to get it so I was 15 minutes late for work. I need to leave early both today and tomorrow unless Tim can do it: exterminator today, vet tomorrow (Follow up for Merlin's kennel cough).

@pridesabtch Sorry about your mom and her home. Hope it all works out. Thanks for the explanation on the upside down rainbow. I have a good friend who is very into weather phenomena, and she also shared some info with me. Cool. Good thing hubby and I looked up when we were outside.
Recap Sunday 11/17 ~ cloudy a.m. sun finally shining
1) Church / choir sings Call to Worship 7:45 & 9
2) Roasted chicken leg quarters & veg for supper / limit snacks & sweets / log all food / net calories zero / 80 oz. water ~ 64 oz ok
3) Walked 4.06 mi happy me
4) Clean Kitty hallway / sweep downstairs floors / refill bird feeders / depoop backyard / put fertilizer spreader, rakes & bins in shed / read / digital declutter / take dog food away at bedtime / set alarm (dog's surgery is tomorrow & hubby and I are slightly stressed) / other? finalized grocery list, did price comparisons for 2 stores headed to TA-DA!
JFT M 11/18
1) Dog to vet for toe amputation 8 a.m. / pick up doggo 3:30 / grocery shop / Sam's Club / dentist appt 2:00 / choir rehearsal 6:30 / update budget s/s / read / other?
2) No time to fit in walk so goal is min. 7500 steps
3) Leftovers for supper / limit sweets & snacks / net calories zero / 64 oz. water
We took dog to vet this morning for her toe amputation, and we have received call that surgery went well & she is in recovery. Hubby asked about any vet concerns, and he has some, but we have to wait for biopsy results in 1-2 weeks. Scary. But both original vet opinions (1st & 2nd) thought if there was any cancer, toe amputation should remove all of it, assuming no spread. On bright side, all her blood work was normal & she seems fine otherwise. Now we wait to pick her up (after my dentist appt. previously scheduled) and get all the post-op instructions. It will be a challenge keeping her from stairs & jumping on allowed furniture, but maybe not. Tech told us they would numb foot for 3-5 days to aid in recovery. Prayers continue.

I am still here on the but haven't been able to keep up with much of anything. Work has gotten a bit busier than normal.
Here are the highlights
JFT- I have some peptides on order for the knee so looking forward to that. Any other peptide geeks out here ?
- Overate on the calories and carbs today- likely stress, annoyed with myself. guessing the scale tomorrow will annoy me even more.
- Work was busy with alot of priorities and that makes me feel stressed but I did get everything done that was lingering from last week so that was good
- Mom was ill and went to Dr , she has covid but is getting better
- Hubby has a cold or something brewing so hoping I don't get it , getting lots of extra zinc and C
3 -
@pridesabtch - UGH the pest problem.. I am so sorry your mom and you are dealing with something like that. It does sound like she may need some help keeping up with things at home. Mice urine and poop alone can be pretty bad for people.
Thanks for the explanation on the rainbow, I have never seen one myself1 -

Hey all,
Update from me!
I managed to finally shift the scale in a downwards motion. Woohoo my gym workouts are finally paying off.
Although on Thursday I fell down a few stairs at home and managed to break my hand whilst catching my fall. Had surgery on Friday afternoon and home Friday night. Just feel a bit miserable. It's my dominant hand and Ash has had to pick up on a lot of stuff and I don't like asking for help.
So now no/limited gym. So annoyed at myself too.
They're x-raying it again in a couple of weeks to see how I get on.
I broke the little finger but below the knuckle, so it's not my actually finger but the bone in my hand that attaches to the little finger if that makes sense. Can't remember the name of them, metatarsals?
Either way, may be quiet again as it's hard to type one handed lol but will keep you updated.4 -
Reading everyone's posts, seems like we're all dealing with crap. Hugs to all my JFTers!

@cschmitz110515 your little dog is So cute. So hard to see little ones suffer... but glad she is doing ok!
and @Bex... OMG!! You be careful girl!! That has to hurt.. praying for a very speedy recovery for you!!
@HappyDonkey75 -- You have a lot going on! Prayers that your mother feels better from covid, and your husband.. and that you don't pick up what they have! Also, have a question .. what do Peptides do for your knees? Just curious!1 -

UGH.
This is SO me!! You are and I both about the same weight (my weight this morning was 211.. my goal is 175. ) And I am the same way. My colesterol is really good, my AIC is good, I feel good, I have energy to work out.. but I KNOW I need to lose these 20-30 pounds. I am 73, and I know as I get older it is harder and harder. And like you... my jeans are getting tight!! So... time for me to get serious! But.. I can SO relate to what you wrote!1 -
Family has all left. I have SO much food leftover. I sent a lot of it home with daughter, and luckly, a lot of the stuff I had left I can freeze.. mostly stuff we had grilled. I made a huge pasta salad, and between us eating it for 2 days, and giving a lot to our daughter, that is about gone. The sweets.. well.. they are froze for xmas, and my granddaughter loved the cookies so much, so I sent her home with a lot of them!
So now.. its time for me to get back on track. My weight is about 30 pounds higher than I should be for my height. But like @clickeykeys said ... I feel good, my blood counts and AIC are all good.. I have no issues, other than my clothes are tight, and I don't like my stomach! Hubby always tells me I look great (except for the tummy). SO its easy to say... I look OK, so why lose weight. And.. I love to eat.
But... I know I should. The extra weight on my knees is not good. Carrying around 30 extra pounds is hard (think of 3 large bags of dirt!). So I know I will feel much better to get this weight off!
So, tomorrow, JFT, Wed, 11/20
1. log my food. Concentrate on protein, lower carbs, lower sugar
2. concentrate on water --- red cup challenge for myself
3. distract myself with nite time snacking!
4. stay accountable. FInd my "why"reason... and keep going
5. goal for the end of the year... get out of the 200s if I can! I am hoping the 5# I just put on will come off easy.. thats its just food weight. Hopeful thinking. But... be lighter on January 1st than I am today.. thats just my goal. No numbers on the scale.. just lighter3 -
@mytime6630 Excellent that you gave away or froze your extra food. Good on you!!!

Hi all! I've still got a bit of vertigo, but I'm finally starting to feel better - just in time to get observed in my online research writing class. I have no problem with observations in my face-to-face classes, but juggling all the resources in Zoom and keeping the class engaged is a real challenge. Hopefully it will all go well.
I had to put off my flu and covid shots, so I may try to do that Thursday or Friday. Unfortunately, it means feeling crummy for a couple of days while I'm trying to catch up on chores and Thanksgiving prep. No goals for tomorrow except to get through the day and make healthy choices when I can. Hopefully I'll be ready to get back on track by Monday.2 -
@mytime6630- yes never a dull moment in my world it seems.
Certain peptides can offer healing from injuries. They have been used extensively in the athletic world but they are considered illegal in the WADA (world anti-doping agency) , frankly, because they work ! There are some ortho docs now utilizing these peptides after PRP treatments on joints and finding that it is enhancing the effects of PRP. Its all pretty fascinating .
@beachwalker99- glad your starting to feel better and hopefully don't get side effects from the vaccines that will put a damper on the holiday. I think I would hold off just a bit longer and not risk it!2 -
I have an addiction- the Organic dried mangoes from Costco (black bag) . I literally cannot stop eating them , absolutely no self control. It did not help the scale over the last couple of weeks, could be the reason for the stalling.. I won't be buying another bag anytime soon because while the fiber is great, the carbs are way too much.
JFT- NO more mangoes- thank goodness the bag is gone
- Get my water intake back up- with the colder weather I have been slacking
- Hit 115-120 grams of protein - only been averaging 85-90 for last several days
- Shovel snow and get extra cardio in

Good morning! My goodness, there’s a lot going on!
@cschmitz110515 hope your sweet dog go is healing well. 🫂🩷
@pridesabtch Ugh….roaches, termites and mice? I would’ve felt creepy crawly too. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.
@Bex953172 Ouch! That had to hurt like heck! Let Ash pick up the slack and let it heal so you don’t have problems down the line. 🫶🫂 hugs, friend!
@mytime6630 so glad you had a nice visit! Did you post pics of the baby quilts yet? I don’t want to miss them.
@clicketykeys I’m the same! I love my food…and the more I say no, the more I want it. I’m such an emotional eater! I eat for fun, to soothe and for entertainment.
Yesterday was my last workout session at LiveStrong. I could tell that I’ve gotten stronger in the 12 weeks with the program. The group meets one more time next Monday to do a follow-up assessment which will measure how much we progressed from Day 1. It’ll be interesting to see the results. After the assessment we are having a potluck. They’re providing sub sandwiches from Jimmy John’s and we are all bringing a dish to pass. Anyhoo, I enjoyed the program so much that I decided to continue to the program StayStrong, which is for graduates of the LiveStrong program, only it’s not free…you have to have a membership to the Y. So, I joined the ay yesterday and I’m excited to keep going. I don’t want to go backward.
Today, we woke up to snow. ICK. I think it’s the first time I didn’t think the first snowfall of the year was pretty! 🥶😤
I’m going to my mom’s today to see if she can help me save a quilt I made my granddaughter. I washed it after I was done making it, and the red fabric bled into the white. UGH! 😬 I wished it like 4 times to get the pink spots out, and as a result, the batting inside is all tore up. I’m so upset about it. I worked hard on that quilt…and I’m a beginner with sewing so it really made me not want to even try anymore. Anyway… It’ll NEVER happen again! I learned many lessons.
Have a nice day everyone!
Today's Top 3 Why's:
1) Health
2) Strength, so I can go up & down bleachers myself
3) Strong immune system
4) Wear my wedding ring again
1. No BS 24 Hour plan and assess.
2. Journal every bite and close MFP diary at the end of the day
3. 64 oz water. No excuses. DRINK MORE WATER! Add herbal tea if you need to...just do it. Watch for hunger vs boredom or emotional eating. Am I truly hungry, or am I trying to "fix" a feeling? If hungry, eat something I planned. If emotional eating, what can I do instead?
4. Intentional activity, 30 minutes. Get outside and "touch a tree"! Or Go to the Y! Close activity rings on watch.
5. Home Care To-Do's: Laundry. Floors.
6. Digital Declutter (Ongoing): Delete obsolete or odd photos (5 minutes). Email clean up (5 minutes). Copy files from old laptop onto jump drive (5 minutes)
7. Bake cookies for deer camp
8. 5 Things Declutter challenge.
9. Self Care (30 minutes of something calming)
10. Fix C’s quilt. Finish quilting table runner and bind.
11. Evening Routine
This week I will…-*Be intentional with the way I spend my time.
* Focus on who is choosing me, wanting me, befriending me instead of worrying about who isn’t.
* Actively search for joy in small moments.
* Be kind every time I get the chance.
* Be gentle with myself and with others. We are all human.
* Remember that some things, some words and some people don’t require an emotional reaction from me. I can simply let it float away and move on with my life.
* Put down my phone more and scroll less.
* Refuse to feel guilty for finding pleasure in mundane things—a book, a game of pickleball, a phone call with a friend, a pumpkin spice latte…Life isn’t constantly about achieving this or that. Sometimes it’s about pure enjoyment.
* Check on people I care about that I haven’t heard from in a while.
* Work to forgive that person (whether they apologize or not).
* Be in control of myself—my words, my actions, how I treat those around me and let the rest of it, rest.
* Have pure intentions, but I will not people please. It’s okay if they don’t like me.
* Try to carve out a little time with at least one person who is good for my soul.
* Touch some grass.

Dog is doing well & tomorrow is her first bandage change & vet check. We're hopeful & praying for a good biopsy report. Hubby still sleeping on floor next to her in family room since she's restricted from stairs for now. Maybe I should take a turn.
Sharing photo of hubby feeding dog. She's not liking the extended cone but dealing with it. If you look closely, you can see her bright pink bandage on her foot under the cone. So far she's not messing with it, thankfully.

2024 Goals:1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be thrilled if I can get back down to 160# this year- Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
- Take measurements & log on MFP every month end
- Try new recipes Unfortunately, no wall oven until mid-Feb or later & sad me, but try slow cooker & stove recipes... wall oven installed 2/26. Ppl

Beautiful quilt !!!! You did a beautiful job... your granddaughter will love it!! I agree with the "after washing" look. I never wash my quilts before I give them.. because I like them better before they are washed LOL!!
And congrats on your Livestrong class... so proud of you, and so happy you joined the Y! I love to exercise (ha.. I should be super thin by now!). But for me exercise helps start my day, and I am finding that during the winter, I have always suffered from seasonal depression. Especially around the holidays. Exercise has helped me so much with this. I think it is perhaps the friends I have made at the gym... or just the exercise. So while I'm not losing weight.. it is helping me feel better!
Oh.. I will post the baby pictures soon! I shipped them off today, but I did take pictures.

Just saw this part... OH NO!! I've had that happen just once.. now "IF" I wash before giving I always use color catchers, and when I don't wash.. I send them the color catchers with instructions.
As for the batting... can you just restitch in the ditch? That should hold down the batting.
But.. it is beautiful, and your granddaughter will love it no matter what, because it was made with love!1 -
OK.. note to self... I don't have to eat all this junk that is still left from when our sons visited!!
I did get rid of most of the sweets.. but I had bought Trader Joes muffins... sent daughter home with one 4 pack, and tonite I will give her the other 4 pack. But... I love the cinnamon ones.. so I'm keeping those. But... just finished one muffin tonite.. gave hubby and daughter one, so at least now there is only 1 left.
But.. we've been eating leftovers all week.. mostly leftover BBQ stuff, which is all OK.
I've not been tracking my food.. so this needs to be a priority again!!
So, goals tomorrow,
1. log all food... make this a must do thing to do each day.
2. concentrate on water
3. concentrate on water
4. concentrate on water (HA.. can you tell I need to do this!!)
Today I shipped off the 2 baby quilts for the twins.I am happy how they turned out.. I hope the mom and dad like them. I will attach pictures later.
I attached a picture of our backyard! For the past 5+ years.. I decorate our backyard with xmas lites. I love it! We have a "unheated" patio room.. but I turn on the heater, and can just sit and think, pray, mediate, while I look out at our winter wonderland. This started in 2018 when a good friend passed away. This good friend had made ornaments using coat hangers.. shaped as domes. His daughter was going to put them in the trash.. and I said no way.. I wanted them. Since they are coat hangers, I couldn't really put them in the front yard (during the day.. ha.. they are coat hangers!). But since then, I've also added tomato cages.. that are turned upside down. Those are the little trees. Hubby did buy me a few more things to add to it during covid. The picture is kinda blurry though!
