I joined this group in Rnd 245 on Dec 18 2023, when I realized I was eating my way through the holidays; I finally got on the scale and was hovering just under 150 lbs. It took about 4 months to reach my goal weight of 125. Sounds great, but I’ve done this before, which is why I’m still here.
It’s not just about losing, it’s about changing the habits of a lifetime that keep me stuck in self-defeating cycles with food.

11/25: a better day food-wise, stabilized and didn't overeat. My first time driving the car, and first time in a supermarket! I'm still wearing the surgical boot, but I was able to put on an Adidas cushioned adjustable slide to wear in the house. Still too much swelling for a regular shoe or sneaker, so I'll wear the boot out.6 -

11/22 157 Weight was creeping up the last 5 days of last round. Went out to eat last night and the food was delicious. But, I’ve got to get a grip on things again and stop the creep. This is a dangerous time of year for me, and I know it! “Danger, Will Robinson!”
11/23 156.8 I did well yesterday and hoped for a bigger drop this morning. Patience, I guess.
11/24 156 That’s better. Going to see Wicked tonight at the theater, so dinner will be popcorn. Have to manage the rest of the day to allow for that, but I’m looking forward to the movie! Will focus on high protein the rest of the day. Will also be beginning the Thanksgiving baking today, so…wish me luck!
11/25 155 My plan for the movie worked out good. Ate only high protein breakfast yesterday, a few nuts and bolts I had made in the afternoon, drank a protein shake right before getting in the car, and then I only ate a little popcorn at the movie. If you have NOT yet seen Wicked, it is absolutely amazing! Feels like you are at live theater, which I LOVE. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

@capewrathultra I hope your blood pressure settles down after you take your meds (that's an assumption on my part, of course, that you are on them). I will give you this motivation: when I started this weight loss journey in March, I was on 2 different kinds of BP meds. I am off of both of them now and my BP behaves itself (I check it every couple days or so to make sure). Hope all is well with you and you were partly jesting this morning.5 -

11/24 ⚖️ discouraging even though I’ve stayed on plan. I have a lot of stress (cortisol) & my body is retaining everything. P:E 1:1 P90g. Your posts are encouraging! Today I will 🚶♀️, decompress, take time to smell the roses & 🏋️♀️.
11/25 I started my walk yesterday & decided to turn around - foot pain on pavement. It’s amazing how my foot is not as impacted on a clay tennis court vs hard surface. Thinking of taking the trail @ local park.

Sorry I haven’t posted. I hope to catch up on the all the posts soon. It’s been an incredibly long and busy weekend, but mostly I think was too ashamed to post my weight. After a hedonic Thursday and Friday, the scale said I’d gained 3 lbs. Oh, yeah, I double checked against a second scale. The truth hurts, but it is a great teacher if we can bear to listen. I am going to practice what I preach and keep at it. Thank you @capewrathultra for helping me remember what I knew but still found hard to do, just at the right time.

11/24 -186.4- (Trend weight -190.9-) After a hard-earned whoosh yesterday I have a huge 3 lb overnight drop on the scale on top of it? It’s definitely not going to last. Full disclosure here: Yesterday I took my DGS to a Christmas craft festival held at a nearby school. It said there would be food so we skipped lunch to eat there. Once there we saw the only food was take home items like fresh baked yeast bread and fresh baked bagels. I bought one of each.
We got home and I proceeded to have a huge slab of the bread for hunger and emotional reasons which I’ll explain in a moment. I slathered it with butter. That was lunch. Later at dinner time I opted for 1 ½ of the bagels perfectly toasted with a thick layer of cream cheese. Very filling! Late last night for a snack I ate some of the neatly flavored and colored popcorn from the festival. I didn’t eat anything else because I was sure I was maybe within calories but way over on carbs. And I was full! With much less food than normal (apparently) the scale really dropped. It won’t last. I’m traveling today as well so that means sitting and restaurants which always ends in a gain for me.
For my emotions on the bread: My eating disorders of all veggies and fruits (yuck) and many meats left me often hungry as a school girl. I thank God for those delicious mile high yeast rolls they would serve nearly every day with the meals. Often it was the only thing I could stomach to eat. They were warm and fresh. The small of the yeast is so comforting to me, even to this day. I felt nurtured and safe and fulfilled. I have lots of leftovers on these breads and I hope it will not get me into too much trouble.
11/25 -190.8- (Trend weight -190.9-) So I am up 4.4 lbs overnight (from the whoosh yesterday). Easy come, Easy Go. Yes, I double checked the weight yesterday. It is what it is. Even with the unstable and unpredictable swings, I am still down 1.4 lbs since last Monday. I'm happy with that. Traveled yesterday, back to basics today.

11/25 - 158.8 - How have I missed so many days?! I swear I posted Saturday but maybe I just thought I did? Oh well. I'm rather shocked I'm not up more today as I had wine and a last-minute change in dinner. I was over my fat goal by 13g (3g with buffer) and under carbs by 19g (9 with buffer) but that's close enough for an unplanned change in meals. Gym today complete. It is closed Thursday for Thanksgiving so I really need to focus on getting there tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday. Wednesday and Friday I'm off work so it'll be that much harder to get up and go but my health is a priority so I'll manage. Coach is keeping macros for one more week since we just changed last week but plans to up me a bit more next week. She also wants to gift me some workout programming as an early Christmas gift as a thank you for being a model client - she tells me what to do and I execute consistently. I'm not perfect, but I put in the effort and she recognizes that. I'm excited to see what she has in store (: I'll start that Monday

11/22 - 129.8!! 🏃🏻♀️📝 Yay, broke into the 120s by the skin of my teeth. Surprising since we went out for an unplanned Brazilian dinner. I chose a steak salad which is was a good choice (and verrrry delicious). I did have 1 beer, which was not a very good choice, but not the end of the world either. The accomplishment was that it lasted until I finished my dinner despite a very long wait for food, and I didn't feel inclined for another when we got home. I ran 6 miles yesterday, and have to walk the dogs and do a short run today. I would like to lift weights but I don't feel too optimistic about fitting it in between 3 meetings and the cardio and other work I have to do. Also want to get the oil changed on my van before we drive 500 miles next week and prep some kind of dinner, maybe chili? Happy Friday!!!
11/23-130.0🏃🏻♀️📝 Not too bad as far as Fridays go. DH took over the weekend meals. He recently went to a conference in Malta and is now on a Mediterranean diet kick which is just fine with me! Last night was spaghetti and salad with toast and good olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Tonight is salmon, and I’m sure, salad with olive oil and vinegar. I’m going to see Wicked today and haven’t strategized when and how to eat. Definitely going to have to squeeze lunch in before the 12:25 showing. Maybe I can share a “small” popcorn with DS.
11/24 - 129.6 📝 Wow, never have I ever weighed less on Sunday than Saturday, lol! We’ll see if there is a rebound tomorrow, the last day I’ll have a scale until the last day of the round. When I tracked late last night I ended up around maintenance calories. It’s always kind of a crapshoot though. Today is just getting ready for our big trip tomorrow and trying to not leave the house a total pig sty for the house sitter. Oh and I have to run 4 miles or so. Sunday Funday, the adult version!
11/25 - 130.6 🏃🏻♀️ I’d normally be pleased to be up less than a pound after the weekend but I have to change this trajectory going into a week at MIL’s. Not on track for that on the road today. Breakfast burrito containing fried chicken and bacon, fried chicken wrap and pretzel fries for lunch at Burger King, ugh. I need a salad shop with a playground please?! Dinner will be lasagna after we get there. Trying to drink as much water as I can without increasing bathroom stops. Hoping I can channel some recent success into not being completely off the rails all week!

Main struggles:
1. sleeping less (have two puppies, a 6mo and a 10mo old) makes it hard to wake up early enough to get a good workout in or at least to feel good awaking up. Feel defeated in the motivation and drive department compared to how I was previously.
2. Working from home makes it easy to stress eat or just eat out of boredom/habit.

Almost talked myself out of going but did eventually get up at 6:15am. Ended up getting a 45min workout instead of an hour in because of that but I’m proud that I did get up and go. As predicted, a work day was harder than the weekend as far as sticking to my meals. Somewhere around 2pm I was tired and just wanted to be done. My tasks start getting harder and I think I start wanting to snack just to regulate or something. I had a few snacks outside of what I had planned but I did not let it completely derail my day. I didn’t give up.

11/22- 160.4 (72.8 kg) Late night for me. Just got home from seeing Transiberian Orchestra. This is our 3rd or 4th time seeing it. We wait 2-3 years between shows. I forget how loud concerts can be and wish I brought earplugs. But I had a really good time, nonetheless. I'm curious how a Taco Bell quesadilla for dinner and 11pm snack of pudding will affect tomorrow's weigh in. I'm still within calorie goal though.

🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 279 (my 209th). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine for another round.
This round I’m going to join @Chapter_3 in in a BHAG of 1 pound a round to the end of the year, i.e. to weigh 138 or under. I need to shake myself up cuz only 3-5 days per round staying on the waggon is not sufficient to get me back to where I want to be. 4 pounds would really get me on my way; I want to stay strong, walk the walk as well as talk the talk! & make the round a successful one.
So, goals for this round;
• First and foremost, no feeding frenzies - (carried over from last few rounds)
• to weigh less at the end of the round than the start & a pound is my small BHAG for this round
• be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available.
This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 66 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

1.6 pound gained this round, I deserved it ☹. Moving on, my problem is I can talk the talk, but struggle to walk the walk with will power. Hope you’ve all done better than me, I’ll just keep plodding on, see you all next round.

SW RND 279 141.8
11/22 141.8 (trend 142.5) 9.03 miles walked, footpaths were quite dodgy in places with the ice, but just walked these sections gingerly:) Feeling happier in myself now that I’ve made this commitment, hoping to stick with it & keep this mind set, I know as the festive period gets closer it will become more difficult with all the various food-based meeting ups, so need to make the earlier rounds and not “festive gathering” days really count.
11/23 DNW – luckily yesterday the roads had cleared of snow & ice for us to tow the caravan out for a weekend away in Delamere Forest. Managed a 6 mile walk in the forest before darkness descended. Stayed within calorie limit.
11/24 DNW – 5.26 miles clocked up; intermittent rain scuppered our plans! We drove to Chester, plan was to walk the city walls visiting both the castle & the amphitheatre, but had to abandon quite quickly due to Storm Bert rain & wind. We ended up Christmas shopping; it proved to be quite productive, most of the DGC’s presents purchased. Heavy rain, standing water & wind might make todays journey home a bit of a challenge.
11/25 141 (trend 142.1) numbers looking better 😊, but must not get complacent. Again, no structured walking due to the weather.

Sorry I haven’t posted. I hope to catch up on the all the posts soon. It’s been an incredibly long and busy weekend, but mostly I think was too ashamed to post my weight. After a hedonic Thursday and Friday, the scale said I’d gained 3 lbs. Oh, yeah, I double checked against a second scale. The truth hurts, but it is a great teacher if we can bear to listen. I am going to practice what I preach and keep at it. Thank you @capewrathultra for helping me remember what I knew but still found hard to do, just at the right time.
God bless a second set of scales. My old one isn't as high tech, but at-least it's precise. I, myself, had a big gain, today. It's warranted, though, as I over-indulged, yesterday. It may take a few days to knock-off that 3 lbs, but you'll do it. Keep plugging away.5 -

@capewrathultra I hope your blood pressure settles down after you take your meds (that's an assumption on my part, of course, that you are on them). I will give you this motivation: when I started this weight loss journey in March, I was on 2 different kinds of BP meds. I am off of both of them now and my BP behaves itself (I check it every couple days or so to make sure). Hope all is well with you and you were partly jesting this morning.
Thank you. I'm guessing a combination of stress, other physical conditions, eating way too much salt over the past few days, and almost ZERO sleep. Yesterday's BP was 160/101 (thus my comment). This morning, it's 126/80, RHR 63. 6 hours of sleep last night probably helped.6 -

Stay tuned as the clock creeps forward, fewer things get crossed off the to do list, my plans get interrupted for the hundredth time and the urge to shovel snacks in my mouth to push down all of the feelings of being overwhelmed happens. When ordering take out is easier than making a salad, when I debate if the hour spent working out would be better spent doing anything else… you know, just an ordinary day!8 -
