    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 192.0

11/22 -191.2- (Trend weight -191.7-) I made it past day 1 of 4 with house guests DD and DGS. I had to pick DGS up early from school yesterday because he was an uncooperative 1st grader who frustrated his poor teacher so much she actually left the classroom crying. He sat in the floor and refused to get up and get in line to leave the art room. So today he was suspended and with no school I was able to weigh in at my normal time and before my meds. Nice to see another drop on the scale. I’m not going to lie and say I was perfect yesterday, but not too bad considering the temptations. My trend weight has been the same for several days now. It just doesn’t trust me so it hasn’t dropped. Sadly, I understand. Hopefully it will tomorrow. It is projecting on trendweight.com that I will hit my goal of losing about 44 more pounds by September of 2056. Ha! I was born in 1960 so I will not likely be alive in 2056. It’s okay though, my scale weight has been going down and I will prove that snarky trend weight wrong! Good luck this round, my friends. It will be a tough round with holidays and more but I plan on doing all I can, when I can. Let’s make ourselves proud!

I’ve been using MFP since 2019…
but am new to the community section / challenges.
About 1.5 years ago I was probably in the best shape of my adult life. Workout routine, weight, body fat %, etc., collectively I was doing well. Around that time, I was in the middle of moving to new states every few months for my fiancés job, then I started a new career path in tech. It is my first work from home position. All of the changes, being away from my family, sitting at my desk all day, always home, plus I have two giant breed puppies under a year old…
With all of that, I started struggling to maintain it all. I’ve gained about 20lbs since then and a good deal of body fat. It’s pretty disheartening.
Lately I struggle daily with motivation and drive to turn this around. I took a look at what MFP has to offer in here and I’m happy I did.

No idea what I’m doing but here’s to learning!

    I’m 5’9, 175lb, 29.9%bfp

Fell off the challenge bandwagon in round 256, managed to keep losing weight until June 12th when I hit 155.9 (70.7 kg). I fell off the weight loss wagon shortly after. Decided to start back up the day before Round 278 started.

11/22- 160.4 (72.8 kg) Late night for me. Just got home from seeing Transiberian Orchestra. This is our 3rd or 4th time seeing it. We wait 2-3 years between shows. I forget how loud concerts can be and wish I'd brought earplugs. But I had a really good time, nonetheless. I'm curious how a Taco Bell quesadilla for dinner and 11pm snack of pudding will affect tomorrow's weigh in. I'm still within calorie goal though.

    🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 279 (my 209th). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine for another round.

This round I’m going to join @Chapter_3 in in a BHAG of 1 pound a round to the end of the year, i.e. to weigh 138 or under. I need to shake myself up cuz only 3-5 days per round staying on the waggon is not sufficient to get me back to where I want to be. 4 pounds would really get me on my way; I want to stay strong, walk the walk as well as talk the talk! & make the round a successful one.
    So, goals for this round;
    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies - (carried over from last few rounds)
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start & a pound is my small BHAG for this round
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available.
This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 66 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

11/21 142.6 ( trend 142.6) 10.56 miles walked, the fresh snow was lovely to walk in & I thoroughly enjoyed marvelling at natures beauty all through the walk.
1.6 pound gained this round, I deserved it ☹. Moving on, my problem is I can talk the talk, but struggle to walk the walk with will power. Hope you’ve all done better than me, I’ll just keep plodding on, see you all next round.
@Itladyee - Thanks, Charissa! Poor effort = poor results. I need to get my act together!

    SW RND 279 141.8
11/22 141.8 (trend 142.5) 9.03 miles walked, footpaths were quite dodgy in places with the ice, but just walked these sections gingerly:) Feeling happier in myself now that I’ve made this commitment, hoping to stick with it & keep this mind set, I know as the festive period gets closer it will become more difficult with all the various food-based meeting ups, so need to make the earlier rounds and not “festive gathering” days really count.
11/23 DNW – luckily yesterday the roads had cleared of snow & ice for us to tow the caravan out for a weekend away in Delamere Forest. Managed a 6 mile walk in the forest before darkness descended. Stayed within calorie limit.

@judefit1 I remember being in California in my teens and asking where the local diner was. I was met by blank stares.
I also had chicken souvlaki and a Greek salad yesterday as my healthy(ish) eating plan!

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my morning coffee.

    Highest weight 242 lbs
    Lowest weight 142 lbs (2019)
    Re-start JGMTD Feb 2024 @ 204 lbs

    Round 278 End Weight 170

    11/22 169.8
11/23 169.8 Very motivated by seeing this number after eating out yesterday. I stuck to my plan which was “nothing breaded or fried”.
Giving myself a very simple rule made ordering easier for me.
Tomorrow we have to do a tasting sample at an Indian restaurant and make catering decisions for our holiday party. Dangerous! Both the tasting and the party.
I’m trying to think about holiday eating so I have a plan but I’m still participating and enjoying. I’ve finally got my head in the game here and am making tiny steps in the right direction. I am so aware how easily I can erase this progress I’m working so hard at.
I could use another month of progress before facing the holiday feeding frenzy.

Based on what I ate on Thursday, there is no way in Hell that I should have gained 2 lbs. My bathroom scale's precision has gone right out-the-window, too, so I'm guessing it is off due to damage/mishandling (read 'other people using it, not me'). So that is where I stand, now: I dropped about 15 lbs on Lose It, switched to MFP for the last 3 weeks, and I've been trending up in weight ever since. Is it MFP's fault? No, it's all mine. That being said, though, if what I'm doing isn't working, it's time to change it up. With Thanksgiving only a few days away, I don't want to drop $20-$40 on a new smart scale, so I will go back to my old digital scale for now. I'm also going to make a concerted effort to follow what has worked in the past, and take it from there. No way I'll be lighter the day after Thanksgiving, but I expect to see positive results on the other 7 days left in this challenge. I CAN do this, and I WILL do this... #staytuned.

Didn’t post yesterday because I got an early start in the woods looking for Bambi’s mom. (I didn’t find her.)

Even though I burned a lot of calories yesterday, this morning is testament to all the calories-in and almost nothing-out (TMI.) Last night was a little get together for DGD’s 1st birthday. I was not mindful. DW made lima beans which she hates and I LOVE. I rarely see them under my roof. I over indulged.

I joined this group in Rnd 245 on Dec 18 2023, when I realized I was eating my way through the holidays; I finally got on the scale and was hovering just under 150 lbs. It took about 4 months to reach my goal weight of 125. Sounds great, but I’ve done this before, which is why I’m still here.
It’s not just about losing, it’s about changing the habits of a lifetime that keep me stuck in self-defeating cycles with food.

11/23: OK, that's not in the right direction- post Friday night at DD's house I'm always up, but I've really got to get a handle on this. I can't wait until I can resume cardio- biking, swimming would help me, but the real key is I'm still not eating like I want to lose weight. I really need to rein this in this week.

    Hi! I’m Amanda, 5’2”, 39F in Virginia.

    SW RND 279: 130.4
    GW RND 278: 130.4

Set my goal to just maintain this round. A trip to MIL's, including Thanksgiving, in between two weekends. Whoof. I won't have a scale 11/25-11/30, and our last weigh-in of this round is the day after a day of road food. I feel like even maintaining is ambitious but I'm going to do the best I can under the circumstances!

    NS GOALS:
    🏃🏻‍♀️ or 🏋🏻‍♀️ 5/10 days
    🚫 no drinking 4/10 days
    📝 track food 5/10 days
    (tracked for the previous day)

11/22 - 129.8!! 🏃🏻‍♀️📝 Yay, broke into the 120s by the skin of my teeth. Surprising since we went out for an unplanned Brazilian dinner. I chose a steak salad which is was a good choice (and verrrry delicious). I did have 1 beer, which was not a very good choice, but not the end of the world either. The accomplishment was that it lasted until I finished my dinner despite a very long wait for food, and I didn't feel inclined for another when we got home. I ran 6 miles yesterday, and have to walk the dogs and do a short run today. I would like to lift weights but I don't feel too optimistic about fitting it in between 3 meetings and the cardio and other work I have to do. Also want to get the oil changed on my van before we drive 500 miles next week and prep some kind of dinner, maybe chili? Happy Friday!!!

11/23-130.0🏃🏻‍♀️📝 Not too bad as far as Fridays go. DH took over the weekend meals. He recently went to a conference in Malta and is now on a Mediterranean diet kick which is just fine with me! Last night was spaghetti and salad with toast and good olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Tonight is salmon, and I’m sure, salad with olive oil and vinegar. I’m going to see Wicked today and haven’t strategized when and how to eat. Definitely going to have to squeeze lunch in before the 12:25 showing. Maybe I can share a “small” popcorn with DS.

Hi, I'm Charissa, back for another round. I will keep coming back and I will get this thing right, sooner or later.

Thank you, QuiltingJaine, for keeping us focused in 2024!
Less than 6 weeks left in his year...

    Opening Comments
Round 278 - I changed scales, which immediately bumped me up 1 lb. If I factor in that change, I probably did break even for the round and my brain needs to hear that!🙂 Round 279 with Thanksgiving in the middle. I will focus on all the other days and not worry about that one day. There are a few things that will increase my calories on that day > Homemade macaroni and Cheese and pecan pie. The jury is still out on whether I attempt my Mom's home made rolls.

I am considering rejoining a gym. I have my workout space in the basement that's adequate, but I miss the leg workouts on the machines and I'm finding that my intensity is waning. I looked into Planet Fitness (was a member pre-covid), then I looked at another exercise center (was a member there maybe 8 years ago) (with a women only weight room , with fitness classes and jacuzzi). To my delight, because I am considered a senior, the cost of the exercise center is the same for the PF multiple club membership!!! The exercise center is about 7 additional minutes away, but I think I'm good with that!!!

So here we go last week of November 2024... my motto(s) - All the things I need to read daily!!!

@Blueberries59 ~ had to read that twice!
    - Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm. - Winston Churchill
Sometimes I get so frustrated on this journey....but then I realize if I didn't have some type of focus, I'd probably weigh twice as much as I do now!

@UTMom81 ~ congrats on departing with those 10 pairs of baggy pants!!

@quiltingjaine ~ oh what a cutie...but I did get very nervous seeing wheels on stairs!! My GS has a helmet, elbow pads and knee pads!!! :)

Hello everyone, I'm so happy to join you for the next 10 days. Especially going into Thanksgiving.

I'm 47yo, 5ft,5inches . I started weighing myself in kg when I went above 190lbs. I found the numbers too depressing. I changed from an active job to a sedentary job and gained 30kg in 2 years. I'm at my highest weight in my life and want to get healthy before 50.
