For my American brothers and sisters we approach Thanksgiving. The day we celebrate... well lets not get into that but for most of us, it means "time to overeat". This is quickly followed by Christmas/Honokaa/Kwanzaa.... Followed by New Years. This is the season to get together with family and friends and drink/feast and appreciate each other. Thank you all that have given advice and support and just tolerated my posts this year. I hope each of you have a great holiday season. Remember to leave cookies and milk for Santa. He isn't gonna stay round and Jolly on some sugar free wheat crisps.
For those of you who might find yourself alone on these holidays, for whatever reason. Know that there are people out there that care. I have been there and it can be hard. I'd invite you over if I could.

Holidays are way overrated.
It's just another day for me. The only good part is they give us a nice break from work... lol2 -

Well there is all that double time pay where I work. We get 6 days of double time pay between TG and NY day.1 -

We named our turkey Gobbles this year.🦃And he will be enjoyed with cranberry jelly and mashed spuds and gravy with sweet potato’s and asparagus prosciutto and stuffed mushrooms and of course pumpkin pie and my hubbys fave, pecan pie all gluten free and dairy free of course 😉

Me, in year 8+ of maintenance so more relaxed about it than during loss or early maintenance, I'll probably eat some extra calories on holidays, because that's part of the celebration and enjoyment. As long as I don't let those few holidays turn into holiWEEKs or holiMONTHs, I know from experience that things will be fine. A truly rare day is a drop in the ocean, whether that day has too much dessert, or a huge amount of exercise. Daily routine habits are the ocean.
That isn't everyone's style, and I'm not saying it should be. If others prefer to be strict, and that works for them, I'm cheering them on.
Regardless, getting back to health-promoting routine daily habits immediately is key to success, at least for me. If I do that, nothing terrible happens, other than a waste/water-retention scale jump for a few days after the big day. If I do gain half a pound (which requires at least a generous 1750 calories over maintenance calories, in theory), even a pound (3500 excess) I know that I know how to lose it again (slowly, these days).
