I am only 5’2” and am getting 2 gym workouts a week and as much walking as I can take without overdoing the knees. This week I am back to food basics — Greek yogurt, eggs, chicken, fish, brocolli, cabbage salads and rice. Have my Siete tortillas ready on hand for wraps. No more leftover biscuits!

I’m actually surprised to see the dip this morning. My sleep has been off. I’ve been into the cookies. And the be been sluggish with the soreness of overdoing it on Saturday.
But I feel better today! And it’s Wednesday so I’m headed to the work gym to run on the elliptical again.
That cauliflower tuna casserole was delicious! I’m adding it to my lunch rotation. I wonder how it freezes. I might freeze some today and try it next week. How handy would that be?!
Hope you have a good Wednesday!!2 -
Comment (Dec. 4, 2024):
Yesterday, I was 390 calories "over" prior to dinner. I was asked to go out for #tacotuesday, and it was all downhill from there. Back on track, today.3 -
Hello everyone, I saw a number on my scale that scared me, so I’m starting over “again”. I’m going to try a new approach and just set monthly goals and NOT look at the big picture of what I need to lose. So this group seems like a great fit!
Starting weight: 192
Goal for month: to lose 6lbs
Thank you for this group being here.8 -

I had a case of the blahs yesterday and had a high sodium meal with gluten and wine. All the things that cause bloating or swelling. Need to find some inspiration today so I don’t fall off the rails with this progress.

Feeling a bit discouraged right now. I don't have a logical reason for the creeping back up. Calories and macros are within goal. Exercise and water all good. The one day I dropped to the 172 range I had fasted for about 14 hrs since the evening before.4 -

Bloat is gone from TOM! I like weighing in every other day, bc everyday discourages me if I don’t see anything positive happen. Otherwise I go down a hole and eat everything bc it’s “not working”. Doing good, not eating my kids leftovers is hard. Trying to get more steps in, but between appts and swim lessons these next few days I have to skip my lunch hour so no walking. Staying tight on calories and went with one big BBQ meal yesterday for lunch or just sausage, beans, and chicken (with lots of jalapeños and pickles) and a slice of banana bread. Hoping to hit the December goal weight by the time my rents come next week and then ride it out til the end of the month by being mindful. We got this everyone!4 -

Comment (Dec. 5, 2024):
An early weigh-in doesn't really tell the whole story, especially when you lose the majority of your weight, each day, in the early morning hours. Food AND sleep cycles are all screwed-up, today. Time to re-set and get back on-track #staytuned.3 -

Arrrgh. I was lower than this in November! Very annoying! Could be hormones, could be sodium, or could be that I gained back some weight. With holiday parties coming up this weekend and next week it’s going to be tough. Gotta stay focused!!

It was Monday, and suddenly it's Thursday. This week has been nuts, and I haven't had a chance to sit and write out all my weight-related tracking this week. But I've been scribbling it in a journal so I could come back to this post.
Welcome to @shortmom5, @Nefertiti54, @bonnieyoungblood, @jennydowd -- and welcome back to anyone reconnecting with your goals, as some of us are. It's better to go back to your goal than give up. ✨ There are several of us that have fallen off from this journey and started over, myself included (more than once even). That's common, and nothing to be ashamed of. If dropping weight was easy, we wouldn't have a platform dedicated to losing and maintaining weight. So don't let that stop you -- what you did yesterday, last month, last year, that was then and you can't change it. It's done. But what can you do today to move that needle closer to where you want to be? That's what you can work on now -- just focus on the path forward and do your best for today. That IS how you do this. 🧡
☕ I'm off to make more coffee and get to my next meeting. Have a wonderful Thursday, friends!

No idea.. not that different of a day than from that last several as far as food goes. Not really getting my hopes up at this point since I keep bouncing around between 172-174!
@canadamarie we are all going to be challenged in the coming weeks. Stay focused is key for sure
@Kupla71 - way to go on the drop and the huge amounts of steps! you must have had a busy day.
@ManifestingToday - your are right, this week has been very hectic here too. Can't believe its Thursday already. Thank you for such great inspiration as always. This is not an easy journey for sure. So glad for the support here.
**** ALSO!! I have an update on the use of the peptides for my knee in case anyone is interested. ******
The recent pain in the last couple of months is not related to my surgery from April .This is soft tissue problem on the inside of the knee and almost feels like MCL ( I have had a grade 3 torn MCL on my other knee from a sport accident) I have no idea what caused this recent issue but this knee keeps throwing curveballs at me . Anyways, I started the peptides a little over a week ago. I administer injections every day and every other day since I am combining two as a recommended 'stack'.
I am starting to feel some improvements that are noticeable and hopefully its not just the placebo effect) I was able to get 30 minutes on the treadmill on Tues/wednesday without being in agony by the 10 minute mark. I am hopeful!

Hi I love this thread. For December I would like to track calories even if I go over quite a bit. It’s good to get back into the habit to carry on into January. December is a tough month full of food and drink temptations . Good luck everyone and Happy Christmas5

Comment (Dec. 6, 2024):
I was only 100 cal "over" after dinner, but when I took my neighbor over some homemade soup, she gave me a big chunk of Stilton Blue Cheese. Brought that home, had 2 hard seltzers while watching Thursday Night Football, and I ended-up 979 calories "over", and ~ 4,000 mg over on sodium. Poor efforts = poor results.3 -

Welcome @shortmom5 and @nurseshawna81 @Nefertiti54, @bonnieyoungblood, @jennydowd - I like to believe we are a great little group here. I really enjoy checking in here with such an encouraging crew.
It’s taken me too days to post this! We got hit with a LOT of snow for our area. We haven’t seen this kind of snow in a good few years! It’s been exciting in my mind. Though a lot of work. It sure is pretty! Schools are closed. Bill Cory busses are messed up. It’s just been a mess.
In a child at heart so weeeeeee!
Big Christmas lunch yesterday. A buffet that my work treated us to. Prime rib turkey. Gravy stuffing. Lovely. And I didn’t eat myself silly. But still enjoyed it all. I’m kind of surprised to be honest. It was all really good. But I’ve been enjoying my lunch salads. Which wasn’t how I naturally ate before I started this journey. So I was excited to see the salad bar. Good stuff mind you. Not just rabbit food. Lentil and parsnip. Tabbouleh so my first round was salad and cheese. So by the time I got to the hot table I already was not ravenous.
I speak like this is not an obvious thing. But I’ve always had such a different attitude with food. I grew up wanting more and then there was a time I couldn’t afford necessities so a free lunch was to be over indulged. Pair that with diet culture scaring me. Buffet means EAT. 🤣
And I did. I didn’t deny myself. I had the prime rib. The mash. The gravy. The stuffing. But I was satisfied. I even had dessert. But just enough to feel treated. I find it kind of interesting is all. The numbers on the scale may not have changed much. But my mindset around food is changing. And that’s exciting in its own way. (I’m probably blathering. It’s early. Just intrigued me).
Anyway!
It’s been a. Crazy week. It will be a crazier weekend.
Hang in there peeps. We got this!!
