Did my hour walk over lunch yesterday and psyching myself up for the it again today. Donuts were brought into work this morning and I am resisting hard. Yesterday was crazy for calories. My watch said I burned 850 active between the walk and wrestling with a darn Xmas tree and decorations for two hours. My 4yo was so happy though and is ecstatic to be back on lights duty. He asked where all the presents were lol (I am so behind on wrapping). Ended out the day with a double cheese burger from McDonald’s bc my car battery died and I had a massive headache by the end of the night. So yesterday was a whirlwind. Getting closer to my December goal!3 -

I guess I'm playing in 208-land this week. I'm hoping with some additional sleep tonight, I might see 207 again tomorrow, but we'll see. I'm also planning to have two cookies (TWO - all to myself) from the bakery tomorrow. This is my treat for working out hard all week, and not caving in to pizza or fast food. It has been salad central here.
@debbiebyf Welcome to the thread! Yes, December is a tough month, and frankly, it feels like from Halloween through New Year's, it's just tough, period. Candy all over the place, very food-centric months. So congrats on deciding to ramp up during December, and feel free to just do this in whatever way works best for you. We're all here doing the same thing and to help support each other.
@Emkaygirl1 one time I ended up having to shovel out our house during a 3 day blizard while my other half was on business travel. I was burning 2,000-4,000 calories every time I went out to shovel for 2 hour shifts. I ate everything! And I was loving it. It's possibly the best workout ever. Exhausting, but invigorating. I hope you are staying warm and well.
@HappyDonkey75 I hope you continue to see some improvements with the new injections. Pain-free would be awesome.
@capewrathultra You can get back on the plan, you know it. Hang in there!
@kebass01 I hope it's an easier day today!!!
@canadamarie It's temporary - it will be down tomorrow.
Hello everyone I didn't specifically say something too - I hope your day is going great. Happy Friday!!2 -

137. Think I might need to check scale battery.
I didn’t eat any cake at a work do because I wasn’t hungry. That’s a change in eating behaviour for me2 -

Yay! I hit my December goal. I’ve been very active this week so maybe that’s why I’m losing so well right now. Believe me, it hasn’t always been this way. I struggled in October and November.
@cupcakesandproteinshakes Well done for not eating the cake! It’s a good feeling to realize your eating habits are changing.

Hosted my holiday party for friends on Thursday and did baking last night with grandkids. Indulged in a hot chocolate chip cookie and didn’t need the extra wine and calories combined with the night before.
When I’m tired, I have less willpower or mental motivation. But back on track today and will prep chicken to have ready for meals.

Not much consistency happening around here other than as soon as I dip below 174 , it won't stick..I'd be lying if I didn't say I am more than frustrated but I have a feeling that I have been in such a calorie deficit for so long it might be causing me some metabolic slow down which can occur. The alternative is just that I am building muscle but hard to say. I may need to go in and get one of those body scans to see if I can sort it out and figure out the right path forward.
Going to try carb cycling for a few days, starting with last night, had pasta dish with meat. More fruit smoothies and some yams/squash/sweet potatoes for the next few days.
Yesterday I was on my feet pretty much nonstop getting the tree up , and then some grocery shopping, then back to pulling down more decoration totes. My back and knees were not happy by the end of the day. I need to finish a few more things today.

Getting there! Saturday I went over my calorie intake by way too much. Hubby brought home a giant burger and then we were going to a friends for a play date/movie night with our 4-5 year olds where they made chicken and dumplings and margaritas so I had to be polite and eat everything hahaha. So i was extra mindful yesterday and stuck with rice and taco meat for dinner. Today is a lazy day so I will have to make sure to walk some laps around the house and do chores to get my active calorie goal in. Miserable outside too…cold and rainy. Happy Sunday!2 -

Feeling a little frustrated as I’m at my absolute highest ‘warning’ number on the scale. Haven’t been here in a long time but also haven’t really been in a calorie deficit this month.…..today we are supposed to go out for seafood for my wedding anniversary. It’s been one celebration after another since mid November which I’m feeling. I will enjoy but need to get back to planned meals with fresh vegetables every day this week.
Happy Sunday everyone!3 -

I've been eating less overall but definitely enjoying some of the cookies I've been baking LOL. Did a spin class and went bowling yesterday. My son is borrowing my car the next couple weeks while theirs gets fixed so I can't get to me weekly strength training. I have to put some reminders on my work calendar to make sure I get in a couple workouts at home.

This might be cycle related. I'd expect this if I'd overeaten and didn't work out, but I worked out both days this weekend and didn't overdo it. Today I'll be strict and see how it goes tomorrow. But I was shocked enough at the number I went to get a handweight and make sure the scale was accurate. Unfortunately, it is.4 -

Friday and Saturday I got well over 11K steps , yesterday it was over 12K. Just doing house stuff and some shopping. I feel like the step count does make a big difference for me when get over 10K consistently, even when I don't workout.
I would love to see the elusive 172 by the end of the week as a micro goal.
I think in order to do that I need to set some mid day alarms to walk away from my desk and go step on my treadmill for 10 minutes at a time to rack up those steps this week and see if things continue to trend down.
Have a great week everyone

I’m having Rasin bran…. And it’s showing good results.

I was bummed for yesterday’s WI and now this. I’m committing to no cookies this week, and less wine. Obviously did enjoy a bit much this past week, so this week will be my turnaround week!
I have to remember those Licks, Bites and Tastes all add up to calories too…..especially cookie dough and chocolate chips lol.
Let’s make it a great day!

@dannytrees1 - great share on changing things up, and you are seeing good results with more fiber!
@nurseshawna81 - congrats on the loss!
@HappyDonkey75 - your exercise stats are inspiring!
@ManifestingToday - I’m right there with you! I moved my scale around the floor slightly to get another reading but alas it was accurate too. I’ll be strict along with you.
@jennigerding19 yep, the parties have begun here too and that sparkling wine just calls my name lol.
@tishsmith101 - hope you can fit your weight training in!
Happy Monday to everyone!5 -
Hi Everyone! I have been on a weight loss journey since March 2024 and I was doing great until October. I have not been "off the wagon" per se, but in the last two months I have been slacking on using the food diary and watching the carbs (my nemesis). This has resulted in slower weight loss progress, so I am hoping that going back to tracking food / counting macros, along with joining y'all here for accountability, will kick my weight loss back into high gear this month.
I'd like to end the year <170.
Starting - 248
Current - 176
First goal - 163 (out of "obese" category)
2nd goal - 150
Ultimate - 135
So far, so good. I have been tracking my macros and food in MFP every day and the scale is moving. The stalls I've had over the last few months have put me behind my original goal to be 165 by the time I head out of state for Christmas, but I hope I can at least get to 170. As long as the number on the scale moves down, I'll take it!

My weight bumped up. I suspect it's partly because TOM. I have been indulging a bit too though. Some caramel popcorn and today a piece of my brother's apple cake with ice cream. Hoping to reel in the cravings and get down to 162 by next week or so. After that, my mini goal is to get to 157. That will put me out of the obese category and into just overweight. I'll shoot for that after the holidays.5 -
138. I’m coasting around maintenance. Will reduce portion sizes a bit and see if that gets the scale moving.7
