Still trucking. 2 days until the parents come and trying to hit goal weight. I think I can make it! It’s not much, and I still have a ways to go for my goal, but it’s something. Put my jeans on today and haven’t worn them in a week, but still tighter than I want. It’s a journey not a race and I have to keep telling myself that.6 -

Worked my food plan yesterday and logged all meals and exercise. Funny, I think my metabolism has started to improve and I’m probably burning fat due to a balanced approach to nutrition, regular exercise and sleep. Meaning, lost inches are showing more than pounds due to increased exercise since fall. I have to be ok with this but will also cut out salt, sugar and wine for the rest of the week to dig deeper. Really want to see 147 again and keep going.4 -

I've developed what I think is anterior shin splints with my left leg, also affecting my left knee. I did push through walking yesterday, but did not do aerobics. I'm following some advice from online PTs and we'll see how it goes over the next few days. I'm not going to push this today, as I don't want a repeat from earlier this year where I couldn't even walk upstairs.
@Michieb125 - thank you for the kind words! I hope we both begin to see things go the other way!
@cupcakesandproteinshakes, @Kupla71, @canadamarie, @kebass01, @capewrathultra,
jennigerding19 -- I hope you all continue to see progress and are doing well!
@jennydowd Great progress - congrats!
@dannytrees1 You continue to inspire - congrats on the new low!
@nurseshawna81 Excellent work! So happy the weekend didn't unravel your progress!
@HappyDonkey75 I hope you see 172 soon! You've got this!

138. @ManifestingToday and everyone else on this thread. Christmas is such a busy time for a lot of us and I find it’s easy to forget about health and wellness goals. So this thread is a small but important prompt for me.5

I'm still not getting consistent workouts into my day and that's on me. No meetings on my work calendar today so I just added a lunch hour session.
Weird thing yesterday, the chex mix I had for lunch (holiday indulgence) gave me heartburn so I won't be eating THAT anymore LOL.3 -

December goal -168
12/ 1- 172.8- 2.5 walk with hills- knee was not happy
12/2- 173.9 - Took a day off from working out, too much to do after work
12/3- 173.9- 30 mins treadmill- Quads/glutes/abs weight training
12/4- 174.5
12/5-172.6- arms and chest weights
12/6 173.7- cardio
12/7-174.8-shoulder/back weights
12/8-174.8- 20 min treadmill weighted vest, 20 minute stationary bike, abs 12,194 steps
12/9 173.6- just walking and stationary bike 11,191 steps
12/10-174.3- 30 mins treadmill, 15 mins stationary bike- biceps/triceps weight training, 11k Steps
12/11-173.1
I think getting my butt off my office chair more often during the day is helping a little. I guess more consistent movement throughout the day is key for me( in spite of consistent workouts) But I have a problem. My regular treadmill is in our shop and we do not have good reception. I can only sneak away from my desk during the day for about 15 minutes on a break at a time, which isn't getting me to my steps. Plus then I feel rushed and the dogs miss out on their walks.
I did a little checking around and decided to get an under desk walking pad (scaled down version of a treadmill) that I can put under my desk.

@ManifestingToday - I am sorry about your shin splints. Those are very painful. I hope your PT will help resolve it for you , along with some rest. Its maddening when injuries keep us from our goals, something I know all too well about.
@capewrathultra- thank you , I sure hope I can get that number. I feel like the universe is fighting me hard on getting there.
@cupcakesandproteinshakes - I agree, this time of year is hard to be accountable but this is the one thing that keeps it in the front of my mind. I have christmas parties starting this week as well. And the week after Christmas I will be making a trip to visit my parents in AZ . My dad has already asked me about baking his favorite cookies while I am there so there is that..

Dec 9 200 The Christmas parties have begun. So far not a lot of sweets but lots of alcohol. Lol.
Dec 12 200 still haven’t been able to workout with my hurt foot. Dr appt finally the 20th. They tried to get me in sooner but work is insane and I couldn’t get away before then. But with work being crazy means I’m not in my chair for most of the day I’m up and about. But then desk stuff is getting behind so today I need to park it and not move. Doing a friends Christmas dinner out tonight. Need to look at the menu and pick something lower calorie. Friends coming in for the weekend and we always eat/drink good when they are here with not a lot of movement2 -

Mixed feelings about this drop in weight. Happy to see a drop, yes. However it’s mostly the result of spending the night in hospital due to a GI issue. Results are not in yet but I think the GI issue was from eating crappy foods. And that eating is partly due to Christmas parties and all the not so great food that is served. But also have been lax about my eating habits. So I’m really not happy about the hospital visit. But on the bright side sometimes a slap in the face is what you need in order to get back to a healthy place. And all the testing they did will arm me with great information about my own unique need and how to move forward in a healthier way.

I am trying to not get crazy excited here about the # on the scale this morning. I didn't hit my calorie /protein or workout goals yesterday because the day was full of meetings and alot of tasks to get done in between . The poor dogs didn't even get their walk. BUT, i still might have done a tiny little happy dance at that number regardless..:)
@canadamarie I am so sorry you ended up in the hospital but hopefully you are feeling better and can get back on track. Focus on enjoying the holidays and don't put too much stress on yourself with the food stuff! I am thinking about a 80/20 rule for the next couple of weeks, meaning, I am good for 80% of the time and can be not so good (but not going crazy) for 20% of the time.

Didn’t realize I missed weigh in day yesterday! Rents get in today and I made it under my December goal! I am going to try to make good choices while they are here and change my December goal to 152. Maybe too low with the Xmas day, but I will take it into consideration since it’s a win that I met my original goal and will be happy to be under that by the end of the month too. Got my kiddos 5th bday tomorrow and party Saturday so it will be a busy next few days. Almost halfway through the month! We got this!4 -

We are all doing great5 -
My heaviest was back in 2022 (252.6) and I have been lax. I had gotten down almost to 200 but I skipped weighing for a while and fell off the wagon. My husband and I both decided to get back serious this month and so my "new" starting weight was 243.6 on Dec 8. This thread is just the motivator I need to get started even during the holiday (eating) season! 1st week has been going pretty well.

Not sure where my Dec 11th post went. Maybe I thought I posted it? Oh well. I did an upper body workout today since I don't want to stress my shin. Stupid shins.
@rachellsayer Welcome to the group, I hope you find some motivation here and see how all of us have ups and downs, not just some magical journey of weight loss. We're all trying and experimenting, and I hope you find the posts helpful and inspirational.
@canadamarie - I hope you are ok now, and that all the tests they ran will give you some useable info for going forward. Sending good vibes your way.
I know I didn't respond to everyone; I'll try to catch up with all posts tomorrow. TGIF! It's been a long week.
