Learning to use the app

Just joined the 30 day trial and exploring the apps features. So much info available it's intimidating. Just focusing on habitually entering food and exercise data. We'll see how committed I'll be.

Just FYI: you mention a 30 day trial, but there is also a free version of Myfitnesspal - depending on your needs, the free version might suit you just fine too πŸ™‚

    Hello, and welcome!

Focusing first on habitually entering food and exercise is perfect, if you ask me. I learned so much from just doing that. Once I saw what some of my routine foods "cost" in calorie terms, some easy things to reduce or eliminate jumped right out at me.

    Wishing you success!

This! I've had enormous success with the free version, I've never even used my free trial. The paid version has a bunch of features I don't need, and none I do (especially since barcode scanning still works on the free version outside the USA, and if it didn't, I wouldn't consider it worth $100+ a year). The free version has the same food database, and you can log your food and meals, but to 6 different meal slots a day, link it to your activity tracker etc etc.
