Debbie - that's a tremendous assortment of neat items you and DH have made. Have you though about selling any of them online? (I'm not necessarily pushing this, it can be a lot of labor-intensive work shipping and dealing with customers who gripe "it's not what I thought it would be.")

I have an appointment with Dr. Lisa this morning. T is going with me. I have had 2 episodes of light headedness in the past month. Several weeks ago, I was doing dishes after supper and "swooned" - so I lowered myself onto the floor for a couple minutes, then was fine. Last Friday I was walking with weights after breakfast and suddenly "swooned" mid-walk. A couple minutes on the floor, everything OK again. I have a hunch I'll end up wearing an "event monitor" or "Holter monitor", which I've done several times in my life due to tachycardia and mitral valve prolapse. Had an echo about 10 years ago, nothing remarkable. :p This just might be related to my coffee habit too. :# I have some great decaf, just need to remember to switch to it sooner. And drink more water. :p

Glad you are getting yourself checked out- that sounds so scary.

No, we don't try and sell online. The stuff I am "in charge of" there are others who make similar things- we just have lower prices when we are at the shows. His things he could sell online because they are unique, hand painted and no one else is selling anything like it. He sells at the big comic con shows and does well. He just has had to skip many shows because of dealing with his mom.

Debbie ~ That's a lot of 3D creations. It must take a lot of packing to get them to the shows and return home. I hope your next show will do better for you. I remember when my DH was doing Scotts Antique Show every month that he had to pack up the long folding tables along with all the antiques. That was always quite a job. I know he could not do that any more because it is too much work.

    Carol in GA

It is a lot of work packing and unpacking/setting up/packing back up. This last show, even though we only made $100, there was no table fee and they provided the tables plus I got to see my mom.
Some shows they include tables, some dont(some they give us one but we add a few if there is space so we have more room, especially if we are sharing a booth with his friend and only get half the table space.
The table fees on the ones the guys do is high in my opinion but they do them. At least dh at least pays for his share of the table with what he sells- his friend often doesn't even sell enough to pay the table fee. Add in hotel cost if it is a two day show(StocktonCon in Feb. is a two day show)

:) I've had two wonderful mornings with 90 minute walks alone in my neighborhood before daylight with a clear sky and the full moon overhead. Many of my neighbours have holiday lights on in the early mornings---some intentionally and some accidentally. I like the lights.

    MFP Weekly Check-In for December 16, 2024

Rita in Roswell, NM - Down .6 of a pound this past week, to 179.4, so even with my stress levels being over the top, I managed to lose a little. All time high, 210, start over at 186, so still going in the right direction!

Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast- WT Sunday ballooned up to 133.0 from 129.2 Weekly average up to 131.4 from 130.0. Too many self indulgent days on Medford trip and the loooong way home due 199 slide closure. Weekly average steps 5413 way short of goal 7778. BB&B once, line dancing twice, dog group once. CI WAY OVER CO and sugar WAY OVER goal too many times. AF, PT & Zumba still more of an intention than an actuality. Back on track yesterday, showed on scale (129.9) this morning thank goodness.

Sue in WA State -Lost 2 pounds this past week of the 3 I gained during the 2 weeks without electricity and heat. Drinking more water and getting back to my exercise classes was key I think. At any rate I hope to continue with that and try to keep the sugar under control.

Lanette SW WA State – weight jumped up to 160, but clothing still fits fine. Lingering after effects of two days of cookies mid-week? Perhaps. Step daily average 7640, up a bit from last week. Still walking with weights.

Debbie - Sorry your craft show did not go well - y'all do have just an astonishing array of things to sell. Unfortunately, they're much more about who shows up to buy your stuff and how many people show up, as I found out the hard way! 👀🤷🏻‍♀️😃

    Later, babies...
    Love,
Lisa, still talking to y'all from the middle of my Arkansas rainy morning. Egg will be back in shortly to warm her little wet paws on me. Speaking of which, "I'm coming to let you out, you impatient little cat!" Gotta go!

I agree- you have to have customers if you want to make any sales. One show he didn't think would be that good and we made $1800 in a 5 hr show. Other shows he has barely paid expenses(or lost money)

Visit with Dr. Lisa went well. She listened to my heart a long time, heard just a couple "premature beats" and didn't appear to be alarmed. She ordered a month-long event monitor for me. Luckily, I'll get it at the local hospital and not have to drive to the big city.

Also testing me for anemia and something else, not sure what. They took 2 vials of blood.

From my end, I've got to cut back the caffeinated coffee. Way back. Carol, thanks, I found that info too. I have some really nice decaf I can switch over to once I get a gulp or two of Hi-Test. Let's see if that's the culprit.

Dh has decided to stay at his mom's tonight- what we thought was her just dreaming that people were just a dream she had turns out it is hallucinations- All day and even this evening she says she sees them. DH thinks it is the side effects from one of her new pills. She was yelling at him saying they weren't there anymore because he was hiding them from her. She went up stairs to look and see if she could find the people. When I was there I kept telling her there had not been anyone in the house- first she said it wasn't a dream then said she did dream. She was yelling and cussing at him- He video taped it so he can show the doctor tomorrow if she isn't better.

I am so ready to just put her in a home and let us get a bit of a break(before he mentally breaks-he is very close to it now)

He resented me leaving him over there to come home(and then go to class) but I am not staying over there to listen to all the fighting and cussing.

Planned on baking all day- need to send boxes of treats to former hubby and to his parents and brother. They may be a bit late- going to Indiana. Staying up late tonight to finish baking the three kinds of cookies and the cracker toffee. They won't get as much this year. Maybe for Valentines day I can make something. Sure wish shipping costs were not so high. SHipping is more expensive than the baked goods

    Debbie

just 3 more sheets of cookies to bake then I will head for bed. Could have gotten up early to finish but, the oven is hot and who knows what drama will happen tomorrow.

Well, the Massala peas took a lot longer and was harder work than I anticipated! :o I couldn't find my original recipe, so I used one I found online that looked similar, except the peas are not mashed up. It tastes divine, but there was a lot of washing up! Still, it's done now. :D
    I expect my cold didn't help. :#

I have no idea what to have when we get back from Bea. Bacon and egg? What the grandchildren call, 'breakfast for dinner '. Actually, I do have a chilli lurking in the freezer. ....... :*

    Happy Tuesday!
We made it back safely and without incident Sunday afternoon. I actually got totally unpacked! Spent time with DYD, DSL, and DGS. I had picked up things for them. The left for Arkansas yesterday afternoon. It took 12 hours to get to Bentonville from here. DSL's grandmother's passed. His grandparents pretty much raised him. His mom married a few years after he was born and he was "the evil stepchild" after the births of his siblings. The stepfather is awful. I am praying for no dramatics, but.....Stepfather brought that on at Grandpa's funeral a couple years ago. DSL's family don't really know my grandkids as this will only be the third time they have seen them. I offered to pay for hotel instead of flowers. DSL probably won't take advantage, but the offer stands. They will be home sometime Saturday as grands have to work Sunday. Prayers that no one goes to jail this visit.

We put up the tree Sunday night......after vinegar water sprays, the kittens left alone. Yesterday while at work was a different story! Tori was in it several times. My outdoor tree climber, Cali, just played with the lower branches. Turned the lights on when got home and brought back out spray bottle. Again Tori was the trouble maker. Don't know about overnight as I turn off in house cameras at night.

Nail trims needed on kittens. Probably tonight.

For now I need to clean litter boxes and finish getting ready for work. I might get cards mailed in time for Christmas. If not they will get a little love after the holidays. The way the postal service is they may not have gotten them even if I mailed two weeks ago!

Debbie I too thought UTI when you mentioned MIL. Hope you get some answers today. Also applause for protecting your mental health by not staying there.

My Outside lights come on before we wake up in the morning, go off before we leave, then back on before we come home and go off about 11. I am happy to bring joy to the early morning walkers.

Make the best decision you can in the moment!
Find some peace in your day!
Move just a bit more today!

    Lots of love,
    Kylia in Ohio

:)Tracey and Kylia, Thank you from me and from your neighbours for having your lights on in the morning.

:)Diana, Sorry to hear about your friend who demanded that you hire her daughter. We have had lots of conversations on this thread about the difference between real friends and toxic friends.

:) I had to cancel my appointment to have my teeth cleaned in November because I was so sick. When i finally remembered to call and reschedule, there was a space today so I don't have to wait months to fit into their busy schedule.

:) Enjoy all your projects today.

:) Surprisingly many of life's ailments get better with a healthy breakfast, less coffee, and more water.
