Oh no @Teresa502 . I hope your back is better tomorrow. Tippy lets me know that she knows I am having a puppy affair when I get home - she sniffs and sniffs at my clothes.

Oh no @Avidkeo ! I hope the surgery went well and you heal quickly.

    Hey all.

Well December got away from me, then yesterday it really got away from me...

Pics are adding for some reason. Anyway I broke my leg doing something stupid (on a skateboard). Am now in hospital waiting for surgery.

So won't be running for a while

    Damn it

WOW! So sorry to hear about your leg. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Oh @Avidkeo so sorry! Most of us have done things that seemed like a good idea at the time, but ended up to be a stupid decision 😪 Hope surgery goes well and you heal quickly!

It rained overnight and early this morning. It's been cloudy all day with a high rain chance but I went to our local park and got in 7 miles during a dry window. I only saw two other people who had brought their two dogs out for a walk. And squirrels. Squirrels everywhere!

Hope you can get your needed surgery today @Avidkeo. Glad you were able to get some sleep last night.

@Avidkeo Sorry to hear about your injury! I hope you don’t have to wait too much longer for surgery!

Today I went on an easy 11.1km run. I forgot my watch on the charger!!! So no watch. I suppose I was more sad about that than I should have been, but it was so nice out! It was about freezing, the ground was hard and the sun was shining. We haven’t had sunshine around here in many weeks, so there were quite a few people outside soaking it in while they could.

    212.5/200km for December.

Someone asked about 2025 races along the way. I have a 5k, 10k, and HM in CA (Disneyland) with a friend in late Jan, RnR LV in Feb, Myrtle Beach HM in South Carolina in March. That's it so far but need to start making some plans for later in the year.

I'm up for College Station December 2025 or Houston Jan 2026

Glad you were able to beat the rain today @SummerSkier . Hahaha about your cats. I think they all want to know when we are loving on other animals.

@AlphaHowls Do you think you hurt your left foot by favoring your right one when it was hurting? I'm glad the right one is feeling better and hope the PT can help you out with your foot and your back. Cutting back on the miles sounds like it is helping some. Hopefully a month of lower mileage is all you need. Thanks for getting Jan thread ready for us. It's hard to believe 2024 is almost over!

Sorry you didn't get the surgery yesterday @Avidkeo . Hopefully they got you in today and all went well.

Great run @Teresa502 . The squirrels are probably getting ready for the cold weather coming over the weekend.

Hahaha @Laurz9191 . I understand. I would be upset if I left my watch at home too. Glad you had a nice sunny run.

Thanks @martaindale . That sounds like some great races coming up. I need to look into making plans for more than just Dec for 2025.

Great running @kgirlhart and congrats on meeting all of your year goals.

@capewrathultra I don't think your month was completely "wasted." You did get in a few runs, as I recall. Don't give up. Remember, you only fail when you quit trying.

I have a Garmin watch question: I was doing 5K training plan workout today. It said 5 minute walk for warm up, then 4 minute walk followed by a 1 minute rune, then repeat this 3 more times, then a 5 minute walk for cool down.

So, I started the workout, did the 5 minute walk and the first 4 minute walk followed by the 1 minute. I thought that my watch would now say I’m doing the 4 minute walk again for the first repeat, so I didn’t look at my watch after the 1 minute run. After a few minutes I looked at my watch and apparently it was doing the 5 minute cool down.

Question: was I supposed to somehow tell my Garmin watch that I needed to do the repeats three more times? My assumption was that it does it on its own automatically. I thought that’s what it did the last time I had a workout with repeats. (Maybe without knowing it I accidentally hit a button on my watch which messed things up.) I don’t know…. I have a Venu and it’s a touch screen.

    Any thoughts?
