    Lanette, my friend Linette, pays $25.00 for a cut at SuperCuts in CA. I dyed her hair while we were in Florida, and I Dyed my eyebrows.:)

    Christmas Decorations - I grew up putting the decorations up on December 1 (or as close to it as possible) and taking them down again after January 8th.

    The decorations can't come down before the Epiphany and Orthodox Christmas!! :smiley:

    Given that we're organising a cycling event the weekend after January 8th, there's a really good chance our decorations will be up till at least January 17th. But I do like to have them down by Australia Day - January 26th.


    New Year's Eve

    Spent a while on the deck in the sunshine reading my book and drinking coffee. Finished my most recent book. :)

    More digging in the garden with my trusty mattock. The section I'm digging will be for 2 fairly large (eventually) Protea plants. I must check again because somehow I thought there was a 3rd smaller one, but I could be mistaken. I also spent some time raking the mountains of kikuyu I've been digging up into a pile closer to the house and out of the way of where I'm digging.


    There isn't much on TV this evening, so we'll either watch a movie or set up our new "All Regions" DVD player and watch some of one or the other sitcom box sets we got as Christmas pressies for each other.

    We might be able to see fireworks from here ... maybe. We can see the mountain behind the city, so it's possible ... :smiley:


    I'll be thinking about Highlights from 2024 next.

    6th January is my 10th anniversary on MFP. I did have a streak of 3200+ until MFP removed the newsfeed earlier this year, when it reset to zero.

    Did my first Instagram post in a long time today. Just saying how much I appreciate my continuing recovery from my ops, and slowly gaining more energy.
    What a strange year this has been! I feel as if I spent most of it in bed! :p I hope next year will bring more freedom and I can REACH to experience new things.

    All your goals Rebecca, except the Gym, which I will replace with walking and yoga, I need to begin again. I feel crummy today, allergies acting up due to the 76 degrees here at 11 am, with a breeze. I would add no more wine to the list. Gaining a pound a week rather than losing a pound a week since Thanksgiving is not healthy for me! Next week I see the therapist and kidney docs who I will mention this depression and weight gain too. Perhaps they can help. I also have an eye exam that same week. First one since my cataract surgery, so I’m kind of excited about that. I know I need reading glasses, but want to know what strength is best. I’ve tried several strength and and not happy with any of them.

    I also am cranky, sore, and my joints are happy. Its sugar!
    I will not sip on my peppermintified vodka, and you not sip on wine.
    We will give ourselves more grace in the new year.
    New therapist, kidney doc, and eye exam all in the same week. Like a trifecta of treatment right there! I hope each goes really well friend.
