I had to look at a list of songs for the Beatles, Elton John, and Steely Dan. I do know the Elton song. The Beatles and Steely Dan songs I am aware of.

    Beatles = Old Brown Shoe
Elton John = Who Wears These Shoes?
Nancy Sinatra = These Boots Are Made For Walkin'
    Steely Dan = Bad Sneakers
    Nigel Olsson = Dancing Shoes
Carl Perkins = Blue Suede Shoes

    Yes.
That song was originally done by the band Klaatu. Klaatu is the name of the robot alien in the movie The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Coincidentally, the alias the spaceman uses in the movie is “Mr. Carpenter”. Brings this song/clue full circle.
Love this movie! The original 1951, black and white one. Not that other one.

    Don't Cry Out Loud?

Not the one I was looking for.

She didn't have all that many chart songs. This one reached number five in 1981.

"You Should Hear How She Talks About You"

I had to look this one up. Not familiar with it. I think I only know "Don't Cry Out Loud" and "Midnight Blue". I'm surprised. I thought she probably had more hits. She certainly has a recognizable name.

That's the one. Pretty good song. It looks like that was her last US top 10.

    Give us a new one.

"Liar" by Three Dog Night, peaked at #7, in 1971.
"Liar" by Queen, from their debut album, was released as a single in 1974. It failed to chart.

The floor is open. Someone give us a new one.

Oh man. I did find it. I was just giving someone a chance to jump in. The Three Dog Night version I knew for sure. Pretty big hit. The Queen one I didn't know.

Same song title. Different song. Both of these were hits.

The Cars + Olivia Newton-John = [song title]
