I normally eat pretty clean for the most of the week and hit my calorie goals and i consistently stay active as i workout 6 days a week and i do dance. However, during this time of year I have been going out more than usual and there have been some holiday parties and such. During these types of days I go extremely overboard and I eat anything and EVERYTHING. What can someone suggest I do about not being tempted to overindulge on these types of events and go crazy?

I used to have this problem as well. I don’t have a solution exactly just some things that help is if you can eat before the party so your already full. Then allow yourself 1 dessert at the party so you don’t feel your depriving yourself of pleasure. For me I started drinking sparkling water which fills me up has no carbs or calories and still feels like a treat. Or go for the fruit at the party instead of desserts. At the end of the day no one is going to pry the food out of your hands. I try to remind myself of my goal to lose weight and not let a party or social situation completely set me back. I’ve had to learn how to indulge a little (like 1 piece of cake) is ok but not having more. It’s hard, but with practice it gets easier.2

Hi Molly! Everything in life is relative. It seems you do pretty well the rest of the year. I could put these periods in the balance, check what brings you to eat in excess and devise a plan to regain normality afterwards. I wonder if this is a release from accumulated stress over the year. It seems you are very disciplined, and sometimes you let yourself go. I would not beat myself too hard if this happened to me. There is always a balance in life.
I wish I could dance, but the Gods of dancing skipped me.
Best wishes!0 -

There's a book you can buy that Jillian Michaels (one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser) wrote called Slim for Life. I picked up my copy on Amazon for about $4.95 + tax. She gives a plethora of advice for these situations that you are describing. I hope you'll check it out or at the very least check out this link for a preview of her book and judge for yourself if you think it will help you - https://www.google.com/books/edition/Slim_for_Life/02lGJBFOZRUC?hl=en&gbpv=1&pg=PT1&printsec=frontcover
