October Iron Man Challenge-- Week 1 (Open Group)

Okay, folks, here we go: The October Iron Man Challenge is ON!

The goal is to complete the following during the 31 days of October:

* Run/ Walk 26.2 miles
* Bike 112 miles
* Swim 2.4 miles


I'll post a new topic on Saturdays, and everyone can use the thread to track their mileage--either daily or weekly, whatever keeps you motivated!

    Run/walk: 5 miles (2.5 jog/walk intervals otdoors/2.5 leisurely walk outdoors)
    Bike: 15.4 miles exercise bike
    swim : 0

    To date:
    Run/walk: 10 miles
    Bike: 25.4 miles exercise bike
    swim : .5


    if i can get to the gym early early in the am, i plan on making a dent in those swim miles.

    aw, man... just saw this. I started a similar challenge (triathlon oriented). I'm on on this one too though.

    10/2 - spinning, 14 miles
    10/3 - spinning, 15 miles

    Bike: 10 miles exercise bike
    swim : 0

    To date:
    Run/walk: 20 miles
    Bike: 41.4 miles exercise bike
    swim : 1 mile

    I also tried a leslie sansone indoor walk cd today. i didn't count it as it just doesn't seem to be "walking" in my sense of the word. But i did enjoy it, i think it will be nice for bad weather days i can't get outdoors or to the gym and am too tired for more intense cd's. . i'm going to try it with weights next time. :)

    back to the gym in the am.

    10/4: another 12 miles on the stationary bike, for a total of 32 miles thus far. The knees and thighs are taking it all just fine, but the butt HURTS!

  • Can I join??? This sounds like so much fun and after trying to go it alone for so long, I'm realizing I need a group of like-minded people to support me and hold me accountable and that I can lend support and accountability to as well.

    :heart: :heart: :heart: ....i believe you broke the 26.2 barrier & then some...in what 5 days???big congrat's. but i do believe you will now have to carry that bike on your your runs. i bet you will still lap me:laugh:
