@200Karen awww, what a cute snowman!
@Becky_Mastne Great reasoning for pursuing your health. I could never do Keto again because I love cereal too much and strongly dislike vegetables. I did try it many years ago and I did lose weight temporarily but was miserable. Everyone gets there is their own way though. Congratulations on having a plan which is the first step.
@Walela617 Cute kitty! What is your cat’s name?
I am trying to incorporate more water into my daily plan but I am at that age where that translates to many more bathroom trips in the middle of the night no matter when I finish drinking for the evening…lol.
Have a great day everyone!!!

By my Birthday in September.
Monthly goal 4 to 5lbs or 1lb to 1.25 lbs a week

Second small goal - lose another 8 to10lbs by July for Family get together with all my siblings.( 23 weeks before get together)
I think these are reasonable and reachable goals. I like making small goals that I feel I can reach without putting to much pressure on myself.

Update on my knee first ‘Thanks for the loving well wishes, thoughts, and recommendations’ 💞
I’m still healing and managing the twinges of pain. My trampoline doesn’t bother me it’s the side moves when the knee isn’t lined up.
I had a mini meltdown and overate
so today I'm cutting back on calories and watching sodium
Keep moving forward,

02/04-194.2-(Trend Weight: 192.7)- How DISAPPOINTING! It has been creeping up day by day! Disappointing, yes. But actually the word I should use is INSANITY. Definition: Doing the same thing over & over but expecting different results. Yea, this is INSANITY. I’m going to try reading tonight when the snack monsters come out—a tip from someone on another challenge. Hopefully it can get me over the hump. I’ve been trying many things to beat those monsters. I have a new idea of my own I may also implement tonight. I’ll let you know what it is and if it helped when we speak again! Stay tuned!
02/11-194.8-(Trend Weight: 193.7)- It’s been a horrible February so far. The sugar cravings are winning. Meals have been pretty good, for the most part. It’s those night time snacks and munchies that are getting me! My birthday is May 10th and I decided that my first mini-goal is to lose a full 10 pounds between now and then. That would put me firmly in the 180’s and on much better footing health-wise. I would still be 30 to 40 pounds away from my ultimate goal, but those numbers sound so much more do-able. Am I reaching for the stars? I dunno, but stretching is good for you, right?

I have been trying to eat some sauerkraut every day. It is very good for you and can help you lose weight. There are lots of recipes online to try. Here is an article on the health benefits.

@SunnyDays930 great link and remind
I do love sauerkraut. Wish it was sold in small portions like Costco’s avocado 🥑 cups

@deepwoodslady I feel your pain. I am also insane
INSANITY: doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results6 -
@SunnyDays930 I'm going to buy some sauerkraut. I remembered an old Americas Test Kitchen taste test of sauerkraut. I wish I could make a link here.
Interestingly, they said the sauerkraut in bags in the refrigerated section was not as good as Jarred or canned sauerkraut. The bags have preservatives in them. I think I'll do my own taste test. Their #1 and #2 were Eden Organic (jar) and Libby's (can).7 -
It’s been a good week so far eating wise. I have kept to the no soda and no deep fried foods and haven’t had any sugary snacks even though that wasn’t one of my goals this week. Once I got to the 10 day mark or so I have found I am not really craving them which is a miracle since my favourite food group is usually chocolate. I haven’t been drinking as much water as I should still, but I am getting some in every day which I count as a success.
I will weigh in on Friday and so far feel confident that I will see at least a small loss.
A challenge I am facing is not getting obsessive with the scale and weighing every morning the moment I wake up. Not that weighing yourself everyday necessarily means you are obsessed but in my case it does. I used to feel anxious before and after I would weigh myself even if it was a loss. I was anxious that it wasn’t enough or wondering if it was muscle loss instead of fat loss. It took me awhile to realize the negative effect this was having on me so this time around I am scaling back on my weight ins (see what I did there? scaling back? I love puns). Anyway, mentally I feel better about weighing in only once a week.
What challenges are you facing and what is your plan to face them?

Although I weigh in officially once a week, I do weigh myself every day and I have been stuck at the same weight for 4 days. I need to go back to drastically cutting back on dinner....like just a bowl of soup. I was prepared to do that last night, but my SIL called last minute and asked if we wanted to go out for sushi. We went because I wanted to get out of the house and be social. Sushi is relatively healthy so at least I didn't gain. Everyone but me had some sort of alcohol...I had water. At least I am sticking to my guns on that.7
-
@SunnyDays930 great victory joining SIL and staying in calorie range
My 'feel good' was yesterday DH and I went to our favorite little diner. He loves the fish and chips I usually get 2 scoops of ice cream. But I thought why ruin my nutrition goals so I ordered 1 fish piece. Felt great to stay in control. A Big Victory in my journey 🥇
Keep up the ~~victories~~

Ive done well with exercise and movement since challenge start! Have had some slip ups meal-wise. I didn’t have a large enough breakfast and lunch the other day, and ultimately got my hands on a large bag of famous amos… and then they were gone!
I’m nervous to weigh in because my muscles have been sore with the exercise and I wonder if some muscle weight will get me discouraged. But I will weigh-in at some point next week.
I try sauerkraut/kimchi daily! I probably hit that goal 50% of the time currently- it is yummy! Not setting a short-term plan at this point in time. I get hot-cold on planning.5 -
Hi everyone,
Today is only FIVE more weeks until Spring, can you believe it? I don't think I reported on the 5th (couldn't find it) and I missed my Wednesday weigh-in this week (had a digestive system virus for two days); so here are my scale app stats from this morning:(My app "thinks" I'm 70 years old, LOL!
Key measurements are:
B: 40", W: 37", H: 39", P: 39". (That "potbelly" though!)
I would like to get out of the 150's by March 19th and to lose at least 5 lbs. by the first day of SPRING, March 20th, when I will start up a "SPRING into SUMMER" challenge that will run until June 19th (with a final weigh-in by Friday, June 20th). For THIS challenge, I would like to lose at least 10 lbs. by April 30th. That's pretty ambitious, but I think I can do it.
I'm going to be very vigilant about keeping an accurate food diary and stepping up my activity level in order to achieve my initial Spring goal and to continue through the end of this challenge and beyond.
@EternalTruth, my cat's name is "MJ". She was named, "Marble Junior" because her committing is like her mom's. My last cat was named, "Mimichou"; "so I'm keeping her original name, because her coloring and facial features look a lot like my last cat, too. Of course, she has a lot of nicknames tacked onto "MJ", like, "MJ-chou", "MJ-bi", "MJ-mao", you know how it goes! She's loves to sleep on my lap when I'm on the recliner with a comforter, and that's what she's doing right now!
Have a 💗Happy Valentine's Day!💗 I will check back in soon!

Read the labels on the sauerkraut. I found a brand in the refrigerated section called "Bubbies". It comes in a jar and the 3 ingredients were cabbage, water, and salt. Now that is basic! It's fermented using naturally present bacteria cultures. However it is like 3x as expensive as the other kinds. However I guess we are buying it to do what it is supposed to do in our gut so maybe it is worth the price.6

Female. 62. 5’6 and retired. I’m pretty pleased with myself this week. I tracked every bite and resisted the mindless snacking. My goal this week is to repeat these two things and hopefully move the scale some more. Have a good weekend everyone.

I ate very well this week but no exercise as I am still sick with bronchitis (3.5 months now) and the fact that I hate exercise (other than swimming). I am anxious to get back to the pool. It is such a stress reliever. Even there I do more stretching than I do cardio but it helps my mental health which is just as important to take care of.
What do you all do to take care of your mental health?
Wishing you all a successful week!
True8 -
Hi everyone,
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! 💘
Dear @EternalTruth, I'm so sorry to hear that you're still dealing with bronchitis! On the plus side, congratulations on losing over 4 lbs. in one week!🏆 I sure hope your symptoms go away soon! 🙏
For my mental health, it's currently dance. All kinds of dance, but especially, "belly dance". I'm starting to break out my old DVD's. I also love to sing, but lately I just sing softly to my cat occasionally. (She loves it!) I've also rediscovered my hula hoop! That helps too. My cat is also making a big difference. In addition, knowing I'm not alone by sharing with people who have similar goals, (like YOU!) definitely has a significant impact on my mental health.
Have a great day, I will check back in tomorrow!

@SunnyDays930 YES! READ THE LABELS. I bought two different sauerkrauts yesterday, one bagged and refrigerated, one jarred. When I got them home I saw that they BOTH contained preservatives. So much for my comparison. I'm going to have to eat a lot of sauerkraut before I can buy the Bubbies. I love Bubbies pickles but I was not at my regular grocery store yesterday.5 -
I have been doing a great job managing my carbs and not eating any sugar. More importantly I have managed to stay within my calorie budget. I've found a few substitutions for treats. I'm super thankful for all the new no sugar no carb options available now.
I am however going to enjoy some dark chocolate🍫 covered Strawberries🍓 today and I'm not going to feel guilty at all.8 -

Have a good week everybody. I appreciate you all. Keep posting. It helps.
And happy Valentines Day! I got two pints of fresh strawberries to celebrate. So yummy.7 -
Congratulations, @faurotann! I would love to be where you are right now - headed for the lower 140's! Enjoy those strawberries - you deserve them!🍓
Have a great day, everyone!
