Well I made a sort of mac and cheese but with unusual pasta shapes and with some sausage bits, with some Velveeta, chicken stock, milk corn starch and turmeric slurry. It was delightful but probably not very low calorie. I had fixed it yesterday and had leftovers today.
Husband and I have been updating passwords and such. What a hassle, but he had some older passwords and its all changed and updated. I added about 5 sites to my tablet so that's handy. I bookmarked the sites so I should have no problem. Nothing bank related though.
G'kids are feeling better but still have horrible coughs, but now daughter in law is sick. 🙄💖
Next will be son most likely.😥

@OregonMother sounds like y’all have had quite the weather! Glad everyone was safe today. Stay warm!

    @Whidislander your dinner sounds lovely!
We had turkey meatloaf and potatoes for dinner.

Here is the recipe for the turkey meatloaf. It is delicious and relatively low in calories!

    Question for this group:
What has worked for each of y’all in respect to weigh in?
I have been contemplating spreading my way ins over the course of several weeks.
I have been using this app on and off through the years, and I have not had the success that I desire because I haven’t stuck with it.
In 2017 over a four month period I was able to lose about 30 pounds. That was definitely encouraging. Then I fell back into old habits and gained that weight back and more. I am 5’10” and last year my highest weight was 258 pounds. It was very discouraging to me. I am 56 years old.

The reason I am considering spreading my weigh ins out is because if I don’t see progress, it tends to make me want to quit. I’m trying to focus this time more on building healthy habits.
Tomorrow will be the completion of the first week. I have weighed a couple of times.
I think I liked Barbie’s advice about slow and steady. 😊
Any insight y’all can give would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I weigh in just about every day doing so makes me recognise my patterns. Most of the time I know if I'll be a little bit up or down.

For me, I usually hit my lowest weight of the week on Saturdays.
Sundays will usually be the same as Saturday.
Mondays will be slightly higher and then I'll bounce up and down through the week.

Bouncing up and down is caused by water retention and digestive processes.

I retain water if I've done a bit more exercise on the weekend, if it is hot, if I've been out in the sun, if I get a sunburn, if I consume a bit more salt than usual ... a whole bunch of reasons.

Then I'll ease back on my exercise or we'll have a cool day, and my body lets go of the water it is retaining.

Sleep helps a lot too. If I get a good long sleep, my weight will be lower. If my sleep is short (as it is before a work day), my weight will be a little higher.

Weight loss is slow and steady, and if we remain consistent, the weight will go ... but not in a nice smooth line. It will trend down with lots of little ups and downs.

PS - must remember to ask Max over for something next week (half term holiday). Maybe we'll all go out for fish and chips.

Cindy: When I was losing weight I weighed every day, and recorded in an app called Happy Scale, which evens out the daily ups and down into a trend. It also gives you an indication of when you will hit various milestones on the journey.

Now that I’m in maintenance, I weigh once a week, mostly because I belong to a challenge thread where it’s one of the metrics. I don’t use Happy Scale so much as I’ve been flatlining on it for quite some time.

🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Cindy - We only learnt to paint on a cruise less than three years ago. It has been such a blessing to us both.
I haven't weighed myself since last August and I'm dreading it. I have been eating well and healthily, but my calories must have been high. I don't log them any more. I would love to get back to my comfortable weight, but I'm not prepared to put in the discipline at the moment. All my clothes still fit, so that's something! :p

@cityjaneLondon that is so amazing about you both learning to paint only three years ago! My husband and I have painted some together as well. I have a friend who owns a local art studio. It is wonderful when our clothes are still cozy!
