Have Gut doc appointment this morning. Should go well, just 6 month checkup and refill of meds. So far that and PO are only things in town. No walk in the morning. Maybe when I get back home. Headache this morning, from sinus’s. Taking antihistamines but not strong enough. Tylenol here I come.
Talked to my mom yesterday. She seemed hyper and couldn’t keep on the same subject. Mixed what each of us 5 were doing, so I used time for my nebulizer so had to go. She said my YDSis has ‘regular’ asthma. No idea what that is. Then was confused as to who we inherited the asthma and allergies from. Allergies and asthma are not necessarily inherited, but couldn’t tell her that in the mood she was in. She was happy I called, though I’m not sure she knew it was me. Did my nails last night with some old polish, which I am sorting through. Then debated with DH whether it is blue or purple polish. I say blue! LOL. I’m not the best at doing nails, but good enough for me!
Thought for the day:
When does a joke become a ‘dad joke’?
When it becomes apparent! 🙄
Love and have a great day!

back home from taking dh to the oral surgeon- I decided to just wait there for him. It was way too cold to be out walking the dog- 31degrees-very icy. He was in and out in 30 min. He is napping now. I usually don't nap but think I will need one this afternoon. I have class tonight and I didn't sleep well last night
Have give the cat that had to go to emergency vet two meds this morning. I will wait for dh to wake up. I can not do it by myself(cant hold him and put the meds in his mouth alone)
Having two Baby Bel cheese with my tea. Rarely do I eat anything this early- shoot, I am usually just waking up at this time and I have been up two and a half hours.
May switch to coffee- tea isn't doing much yet and this is my second cup. Took the first one with me to his appointment and almost forgot it there, another patient reminded me it was sitting there.

Cindy ~ Welcome! Lisa gave a very good lesson in how to bookmark the posts so you can easily find it!
Lanette ~ That is interesting that there is a cognitive test for memory loss. I was going to take it, but, I did not wish to supply my email information. So, I'll just mosey along and hope for the best.
Clutterbug Test ~ After reading the comments some of you have made, I have decided that YES most of us have traits that can be found in all areas. At first I thought I was a Bee and the test said I was a Cricket. But, I can get lazy and have piles of things that need to be tended to and just don't (one of those is housework...vacuuming and mopping and dusting). Guess that would be in the Butterfly category.
Rebecca ~ Hope your cold gets better! With all the weather changes we have had I can see why so many of us have been ill. My son, grandson, and granddaughter have all suffered with the flu. The grands each missed several days of school that has to be made up. My SnL was in the hospital for over a week with pneumonia.
Allie ~ From what you said, are you sending Alfie to Tom to stay?
I survived going to the bridal shower yesterday. We got there at 2 PM and didn't get through until almost 6 PM. There were a LOT of guests, a lot of food, games, etc. and probably around 50 presents to be opened. I was exhausted by the end and I imagine the hostess was glad when it was over! But, I am sure it was good for me to get out of my usual routine and leave the house to be with people.
Carol in GA
Its mostly bothersome at night when my sinuses drain, I get a scratchy throat and cough. But I am sleeping fairly well. My middle son stated that both Athena and Eli have RSV and Eli also has viral pneumonia. No fevers though, and my daughter inlaw is staying home from work today. I think the babysitter is coming on Tuesday. It is something that you just have to get over, their ER visit over the weekend didn't prescribe any medicine for them.😥💖. Poor kiddos!

This morning’s frog bite, reconciled checking account and actual spreadsheets, found quite a few checks not entered in actual so would have been missed for medical deductions. Then had to dash to prep fellowship salad and shower before leaving for Gold Beach.
Ginny, yes in a care facility that also housed her husband but in different areas, likely due their different physical and memory needs.
Lisa, Carol, Heather, Michele, Lanette, Kylia, Machka Flea, Sue, Terri, Barbie, Rori, no response yet to the text. Will try calling tomorrow during business hours, tho’ afraid there will be no good news to learn.
Rebecca thanks for reminding me that Katla lived in “Halloweentown” before moving east to be near her daughter.
Machka and Lisa, well done on the consistent exercise!
Kay, no mug of pens on my desk, but vitamins lined up in a row on the kitchen counter. AND I would way rather spend a little time putting things away where I can put my hands on them quickly at need.
Kylia, yup, my spices are alphabetized. SMH. Drinkware I use is on a lower shelf, that Joe uses and I don’t are in another cabinet with coffee mugs near the sink. Hmm there is at least a shelf’s worth, or maybe two, that could be donated. . . Focus Barbara! This month it’s the OMG room, not the kitchen! What are you selling the wii for? Wouldn’t mind having a spare…
Meg, so very good to see your smiling face again. Prayer said for your DH’s March 8 surgery.
Barbie “one thing at a time” is the only way to get anything done
Machka back when I worked in an office, I told people “re-keying is against my religion.”
Welcome @Garden875 Cindy! Logging food and moving more are key and little by little is the way. You can do this!
Carla safe travels, home and back again.
Carol I could not tell you when the last time was that I mopped a floor. And OH the thick layer of dust on everything. Ugh! If it weren’t for the Roomba you wouldn’t be able to walk on the floor for the spruce needles and dog hair. Think it was Lisa who once said something like “Dusting? Tried it once, but then it needed doing again, so I didn’t.”
Later, lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
February focus: OMG room
2025: Chose NOW: to move more than yesterday, fuel better than yesterday, open heart and mind before mouth.
I like watching that movie and will forever be reminded of Katla, she loved decorating for Halloween.💖

MFP Weekly Check-in for February 10, 2025
Rita in Roswell NM - Up 1 pound this week. Emotional eating. I have been walking 45 minutes a day so that’s a plus. Could aso be why I gained a little.
Lanette in SW WA State – continuing to hold at 160.5 #. Step average 7686 this week, near the same as last week. Total activity minutes = 235. Still house walking, 10-15 minutes at a time.2 -
Lanette-I find the information you share to be interesting. I also check out the sites before going very far into them (I tend to be suspicious). Thanks for doing the extra research and letting us know about it.
Meg-good to hear from you. Hope things continue to move in a positive direction.
Well, all of the chatter regarding decluttering got me motivated. I am a butterfly. My goal today was to clean bathroom well, including shifting some stuff out of the closet so I could use a free standing shelf there in another room and move smaller one in there. Got rid of a bunch of old cleaning stuff. Also used electrical brush to clean shower tile. I am slowly making progress.
Another UTI has shown up. I have been feeling rather tired and thought it was just from being out of town, etc. Started standing dose of antibiotic tonight.
I'm with Beth and Rori on the game tonight. The Eagles are playing well but there is another half to go.
Rebecca-most of the folks around here are getting colds that seem to last forever. Who knows if it's RSV or some other virus. Whatever it is called looks to be pretty miserable.
Well, I may head to bedroom and watch second half from there, or fall asleep before the end!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio
RSV is running rampant! Both grandkids have it, and Eli has viral pneumonia too. Both seem to be handling it all ok, just bad sounding coughs, no fever my daughter in law states.💖😥

Aww, Rebecca, poor littles! Sorry they're struggling.
Cindy - @Garden875 - Wonderful pics! If you sign your posts with your first name and a general area where you are, we'll get to know you better. I know you're not in Arkansas if those pictures are current ones! Your Christmas cactus is lovely, though.
Ginny - Sorry about the UTI - those are like bad pennies, aren't they?
Heather - Your brother's grands and great-grands, I assume? Glad you're going to get to see your own quite soon. So glad you moved close enough to be able to do just that!
Picked up my eggs and a couple clearance items from Walmart, nothing big, though. Chores are almost done, but still some clothes folding to do, bills caught up, exercise done, shower done, and now I'm exercising my ability to do whatever the heck I want to in order to put off taping until tomorrow. Got to be SOME benefits to retirement... 😂👀😉 Egg 🐈⬛👀😹🐈will have to be evicted for me to move in the living room and finish folding clothes, but she likes being near the gas fire anyway.
Later, mah babies,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Cindy, the editing feature is only available for an hour. It’s at the top right of your post - a circle with 3 dots.
To sign your post, just type it in when you’ve finished commenting. I don’t think you can create a signature that automatically appears with every reply. You just have to type it each time. I usually forget or am just lazy, but I will do it here to show you.

Debbie ... I would say that the neighbors popping in to see what's for dinner should not be unexpected at all ... they know when you're there and they evidently like your cooking!
Eggs were $5.19 at Aldi's on Saturday near Buffalo, NY with a limit of 2 per customer. I read this morning that the nationwide average is $7.00.

I need to just remember to bring extra when I go up. It isn't a big deal but I get so little time with mom BUT she loves the extra company. She is starting to see that they are taking advantage of her, like when he came in and said his wife needed 4 dozen eggs because she was baking cookies- never has offered to pay, picks up at least a dozen a week. That isn't a problem in the summer when she is getting too many but this time of year it is.
The only reason I got eggs was because I went to the hen house yesterday morning and collected them myself. Hey, can't get any fresher than that.
I learned Saturday night- dont wear sandals in the chicken pen- they kept pecking at my toes.
I only had them on because it was so hot in the house, I had changed into capri leggings, tank top and sandals. Chilly outside but so warm inside- mom is always cold.2 -

Oh no, I ride outside too. When we lived in Washington, before we retired, we were year round bike riders, through rain, wind, sleet, snow, black ice…. We would leave at 4-4:30 am, I would ride to the gym, he would ride to the bus station to take him to Seattle. After my workout, I would ride to the train, then get off and put the bike in a locker then run 1/2 mile to work. Sometimes I would ride directly to work and back.. now that we’re retired, we don’t HAVE TO ride. Now I can ride when it’s nice outside or spin bike at home. Lololol

Just got back from Jess’. The concert was good. Friends of hers had us over for breakfast today probably because I let them stay here before when they went to a concert in Asheville. So far behind that I’m sorry if I don’t respond to you. Know that I’ve read everything
Vince wanted to leave Jess’ early today because he says that he needs to pack for FL. I have almost everything done. Hmmm….Maybe it would have helped if he had done things in advance and not just watched TV...do ya think? Well, it’s his problem if he isn’t packed. Really, I don’t have to pack any clothes...have everything down there. When we got home today he said “I have to clean the litterbox we used to go up there since we’ll take the large one down to FL”. I asked him “why don’t you just put that litter into the big litterbox so when you clean the big one you’ll also clean the smaller one?” “No, I need to scoop out the small one then I’ll put the litter in the big one”. Why do twice the work????? whatever….
Update: Vince rushed us home on Sun. saying that he had to pack. Then what happens when he gets home? He’s watching CSI. I don’t understand him. He doesn’t want to go to ceramics for long. Was only there 1-1/2 hr today. Come home and what’s he doing? Watching TV
Meg – so glad you hubby is done with chemo. Prayers for him that the scans turn out good. Oh, WB, so glad you’re back
Cindy – welcome
After taking the clutterbug test, I am definitely a cricket like I thought
Barbara – when Jess went to Iowa State they gave her a Roomba. OK, not a real great one. I guess they figured this was one way to get the students to clean….lol she got to keep it when she graduated, too.
Bowling today. I did so bad in the first game that I swear if I was playing PJ, he’d probably win! The bright side is that the other two games got progressively better. Well, you can’t get much lower that my first game. Then walked around the block and stopped to give my neighbor my jigsaw puzzle
Heather – adorable “three Musketeers”
Rita – I’d say blue nail polish
Rebecca – hope Eli and Athena get better fast
Cindy – where on the East coast of FL are you? Our place is in Titusville (across from the Space Center)
Michele NC

Still cold here but I know all the tricks for walking safely so I got my 13,000 steps today.
The veterinarian no longer will send a prescription to an online vendor so I had to drive to their office to get the prescription and then mail it in. Fortunately it was a for a once every three months medicine so I didn't have to worry about the timing.
I had two other "chores" to do by phone but it turned out that both places were closed so I had to move them to tomorrow. It seems like the list will never end.

Hidee ho
Babysat Delia today.. she is getting to the im scared of other people stage..and her teeth still bothering her..poor sweetie.
I am trying to figure out how to pay the 2 larger bills I didn't expect this month..but I'll figure it out.came home and fell asleep and now awake..ugh.. going to try and get back to sleep don't know if I'll be able to or not.1 -
Today's food was shrimp and a shrimp lean cuisine meal. I just had some frozen jumbo shrimp I needed to use up before they were freezer burned. So a nice lunch. I added a little brie bite cut up. A nice surprise to eat with the noodles.
Dinner was a turkey, cheese, tomato and butter sandwich. I made husband his beloved beef noodle hamburger helper with a piece of frozen corn on cob.
I finally made up my lemon bars in a box. I didn't have any powdered sugar so the last 10 minutes of baking time I sprinkled on sweetened coconut flakes. So they're nice with a bit of chewiness. Tomorrow I will cut them up, wrap them and stick them in the freezer for a nice treat now and then. If I cut them and wrap them, I am less likely to sit with the pan and nibble.🙄😂😂
Hugs to each that wish them!
Rebecca
