Mo the donations are collected throughout the year, I always used to get them all by riding day in September but I think the deadline is in November, to be safe I would say by October .

But to try to catch up to first place 🥇I’m not going to walk the kids with Kirby for the next two or three days, I’m just going to get on the bike.so I can finish exercising earlier. Coming home from a 5 mile walk THEN getting on the bike for a good distance makes for a long day.

    Thought for today:

I don’t play soccer because I enjoy the sport.

I’m just doing it for kicks!

Vince wanted to leave Jess’ early today because he says that he needs to pack for FL. I have almost everything done. Hmmm….Maybe it would have helped if he had done things in advance and not just watched TV...do ya think? Well, it’s his problem if he isn’t packed. Really, I don’t have to pack any clothes...have everything down there. When we got home today he said “I have to clean the litterbox we used to go up there since we’ll take the large one down to FL”. I asked him “why don’t you just put that litter into the big litterbox so when you clean the big one you’ll also clean the smaller one?” “No, I need to scoop out the small one then I’ll put the litter in the big one”. Why do twice the work????? whatever….

Update: Vince rushed us home on Sun. saying that he had to pack. Then what happens when he gets home? He’s watching CSI. I don’t understand him. He doesn’t want to go to ceramics for long. Was only there 1-1/2 hr today. Come home and what’s he doing? Watching TV

Your dh reminds me so much of mine in both those areas- obsessed with cleaning the litter boxes, for mine, especially the one in the new catio where we put the two feral/stray cats. He not only does the litter box but wipes everything down and vacuums any litter that is on the floor. He does the same for all the litter boxes inside. The way he has it set up, the cats have pretty much taken over my bathroom- both bathrooms are small but they have over half of it with boxes and supplies for them..

He is the same way about tv. Tv is always on. He told me he had things to get done, I walked in and yep, there he is, in his recliner , watching tv with a few cats on his lap. Minutes later, he is asleep.

Never got my nap yesterday, drank a V8 Energy before going to zumba. It worked, got through the whole class BUT was very restless all night. Kept waking up. I did end up with over 16,000 steps/ 7.3 miles yesterday.
Only exercise today is walking MIL's dog. I will walk him a bit longer both times than I did yesterday.
Only 43 right now but it will be ok, better than 31.

Dinner last night was a bowl of oatmeal. Dh couldn't eat anything else yet and that was quick and filling after class.

John didn't feel too good this morning, but improved as the day progressed. He did walk to the school. I caught the usual two buses, and managed to visit four charity shops at the change over point. One had chalk paint and finishing wax, plus brushes. It's all far too expensive for the two bedside cupboards I'm thinking of redoing. Last time we just used emulsion. They could be thrown away, but might be worth a quick coat when it warms up.
Has anyone else used chalk paint? I've looked at a tutorial.

Bea wanted to play in the brand new playground in the park. It only opened at the weekend. Must have cost the council a fortune! There were long queues for the prime attraction, the zip wires. She eventually got two goes. She did a few other things, and then I got too cold to wait any longer, and John was turning white.
At their house they showed us their new passion; skipping. Bea was amazing doing crossovers, forwards and backwards.
The parents went off to the Parents Evening, to get excellent reports. :p

This morning I tracked G on my Flightracker app to Madeira. She is now safely ensconced in a lovely hotel, with a view of the sea from the rooftop bar. Warm and sunny! She has been a bit down recently, because her autoimmune disease seems to be coming back, so I hope this will revive her.

John is cooking our meal for Valentines Day. Moussaka, my favourite. My homemade lemon ice cream is for dessert, with ginger biscuits, and I said I would provide a starter. I found John's favourite in Waitrose, on the way to pick up Bea. Potted brown shrimps. One tiny pot each. I also bought cress. I have some crackers. So, a very British starter. And no work! :p

Tomorrow is French Circle. I am determined to go this time, so we will get an Uber. The lecture, in French, is about a lake in the Jura region of France. We stayed near there the first summer after we met.
This evening, I passed my 150 days streak on Duolingo Spanish! Edie and I conversed in Spanish for a bit. She is going with her school to Madrid in May, and they are going to attend a school there for one of the days. She is so looking forward to it. Her reading is better than her conversation, but her accent is excellent. (She and Bea go to a bilingual school, but it's mainly in English)

Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

I got a whole frozen duck when I helped at the food program on Saturday.
My question is, has anyone cooked one? Any tips to make it tasty and not tough.
DH loves the Chinese roast duck so would like to make something tasty for him
There are so many recipes online but want a good one so I don't ruin it.
