GLP1 and food tracking

Hi there! I’ve used MyFitnessPal in the past - with success. But, as I have gotten older (49 and menopausal) I am having trouble losing and keeping weight off. Oh, changing hormones! Anyway, in addition to this platform, I also started the GLP1 medication, Zepbound- 2.5 dose. The food noise is GONE (yay!) and I pretty much have to make myself get to 1,200 calories. But, so far, so good. Anyone else also incorporating a GLP1 and what has your experience been?

Hi. Also 49 (for 2 more short months) here. I started Zep in December. Did my 10th shot yesterday. I’m up to 7.5mg. I had no negative side effects on 2.5 and 5 but am having some intermittent nausea since my first 7.5 last week. Still very tolerable though and yeah, food noise gone. I haven’t obsessed over food ever. I literally can’t remember ever not constantly thinking about food in one context or another.

Hello everyone! I started compounded Semaglutide 6 weeks ago, and I’ve lost 18 lbs so far. No food noise and no side effects so far! I originally started out wanting to lose 100lbs, and now it’s less! So glad I started doing this and only wish I’d started sooner!
I’m still on the .5 mg dose and hoping to stay there at least a few months before titration to the next dose.
Best of luck on your journey! Can’t wait to hear about your progress 😊

I’m 53 years old. Two months ago, I started metformin (from 500mg to 2000mg) and Buproprion (aka Wellbutrin) ( 150mg to 300mg) in those two months I went from 275 lbs. to 242 lbs. on Feb. 22nd. On Feb. 24th my weight loss Doctor at Kaiser permanente is switching my regiment to 2000 mg of metformin and 0.25 mg of Ozempic for the first four weeks, then the next four weeks increasing the Ozempic to 0.5 mg. Four weeks later 1 mg then four weeks later to 2 mg’s of Ozempic. I can’t wait to get down to 190 to 200 pounds. I’m just hoping I’m gonna be able to eat enough protein to keep my muscle mass and not get nauseous with food.

Congrats on losing weight with the guidance of your doctor. I too have diabeties though I'm must taking metformin and glipized. I have found that eating things in portion sizes has kept my blood sugar between 80-100.

Do keep in mind that 16 pounds a month is a lot of weight. It won't keep falling off that fast. So don't get discouraged.
