Women 200lb+, Let's Stay Motivated This March!!!

πŸ€ Happy March, ladies! πŸ€

Our wonderful @RavenStCloud usually starts this thread, but I think she's MIA right now. Hope you're okay, Raven! The show must go on!

πŸ€ It's almost spring in the northern hemisphere, which means more sunshine, thoughts of being outside, and the looming specter of bikini season (lol).

πŸ€ I want to hear about your wins for this year so far! What has and hasn't been working for you?

πŸ’š If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM! you're one of us.

πŸ’š In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.

πŸ’š All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you!

πŸ’š Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!

πŸ€ In March, let's stay motivated and achieve our goals! πŸ€

I've been on the struggle bus for a little bit. March goals are to get back to the basics - water, steps, logging food and exercise. Water 80ozs, steps 6K, log every day - everything that goes in my pie hole, and work out 4 - 5 times a week. Oh and figure out a way to improve my sleep.

I need to get as much progress in before my knee surgery later this month since I will be on crutches for 2 weeks minimum.

Hope you all have a great week!

I, too, hope all is well with @RavenStCloud

The roller coaster ride I'm on is making me dizzy! ⬆️ , ⬇️, ⬆️, ⬇️ and so it goes. This month I'm working for way more downs than ups.

    Goals:
    Log every morsel
    8/12 hours 250+ steps
    64+ oz water
    80+ grams Protein

Spring is right around the corner! I may not be ready to buy a πŸ‘™ 😳 but those t shirts will fit a lot better by the end of March. I just know it! Consistent, persistent, patient!
Let's make it a great March!

    Hi

    Im Stephanie

    Highest is 245

Today (3/4) I'm 237. The only goal i have is to not give in to urges for sweets. I'm also trying to walk more and not eat back the calories. I really don't want to do the whole two steps forward and five steps back so I'm really trying to behave.

    Good morning everyone!

181.2 today, yikes. But I can say that I am very sore from the gym Monday, and yesterday went well calorie and protein wise, so hopefully this is just water.

    ⭐ 1/4 workouts per week

    Daily:

    βœ”οΈ> 8k steps (8593)

    ⭐ <= 1600 cal (1670)

βœ”οΈ 32 minute self care (played infinity nikki and watched Tarzan with the girls, made movie popcorn with the flavacol and everything)

    βœ”οΈ > 64oz water (96)

    βœ”οΈ>= 128g protein (128)

What was good about yesterday- found even more immersive activity I can do that's not doomscrolling or stuffing my gob, it was my first time playing infinity nikki. I also got to cuddle with the hubs last night, which was nice.

Tonight! I am going to play pirates with the boys, and dinner will be breakfast for dinner- spam and eggs. The girls can have spaghetti if they want, there are enough leftovers. I also need to do some intensive stretching, I'll call that a workout tonight.

Lots of things are rough right now, but we'll all make it together.

πŸ€ I want to hear about your wins for this year so far! What has and hasn't been working for you?

January was bad with holiday treats still around and I needed to wean my way from sugar again. February started with focus and I was doing well with making a step down in sugar intake – better than ever before. Then came Valentine’s day and Girl scout cookies to sabotage weight loss. Even so I am doing well on the nutrition and calorie fronts and am pretty much weaned from sugar. I haven’t been doing well with exercise except that last month I met my goal of walking around Greenlake.

As to weight loss I am hovering in the mid 240s and keep losing the same 3-4 pounds. I am in my smaller aquafit suit since I am down to the weight I bought it at. I have to start the weight loss going again.

    I do check-ins when I lose:2/27: 244.8 (low for February)

    3/5: 245.

This is my birthday week but I am trying to keep the calories down. Tomorrow we are going out to dinner and Saturday we are going to Afternoon Tea. Otherwise I am sticking to my calorie goal. After a half a year of retirement and reading Outlive etc. I think I have come up with a good weekly exercise schedule for now:

*1 session a week of Aquafit (50 minutes)

*1 session per week - long walk (60 minutes)

*4 sessions per week of 30 minute walks and 7 minute exercise for strength, stability and flexibility

    *1 day of rest

    March Goals:

πŸ€ get out of the 240s

    πŸ€ drink more water

    πŸ€ keep sugar intake low

πŸ€ keep making healthy meals at home with only 1 day a week meal out

    πŸ€ see exercise plan above

πŸ€ increase general activity level with cooking, cleaning, gardening going to the basement once a day.

@CupcakeCrusoe I need to add your protein goal in

@kristinwoods919 I wish I had lost 2 pounds last month

@jenbroussard71 I am probably looking at knee surgery in my future too

@nebslp yes I hear you about the rollercoaster

@RavenStCloud so glad to see your post. It took me even longer to post this month too. Since it is my birthday week I did realize it was March but just couldn’t get to this.

@StephanieMacrecki lowering sweets has been my focus too. Now I need to get back to doing better at exercise again.

    Good morning everyone!

180.2 this morning, coming down but still too high. I'm also not feeling great, ew. But, I did go to bed a little hungry last night, which is the way it probably should be.

Because I'm sick, I need to cancel on the gym tonight. Hopefully I'm feeling better tomorrow, I really don't want to miss my chair acrobatics class. I'm still going to work today, boo.

Not sure what I'm doing for dinner tonight. I got home late Saturday from a work trip, and so this whole week has been a little off- didn't get the chance to do all my usual weekly prep stuff this past weekend.

    ⭐ 2/4 workouts per week

    Daily:

    βœ”οΈ> 8k steps (9004)

    βœ”οΈ <= 1600 cal (1566)

βœ”οΈ 32 minute self care (played pirates with the boys)

    βœ”οΈ > 64oz water (96)

    βœ”οΈ>= 128g protein (128)

Have a great day, be safe everyone!

    Ugh!

So finally weighed myself this morning...222 pounds. I figured. Have been feeling.like total crap. So basically gained 6 pounds in my "fun in the sun". So total loss this year is 3 pounds so far.

    SW: 225

    CW: 222

    GW: 170

I know I will drop some water weight sooner than later. Have not gone food shopping since returning, so have been eating takeout and high sodium. Food shopping is my first priority today.

March Plan: Eat healthier and clean. Exercise. Do some light weights at the gym. Walk, track my foods.. Repeat.

Also declutter and deep clean my home and in the process, hopefully myself!

Will weigh in on Fridays. Have a good week everyone.

Feeling discouraged. SW: 320, and just under 2 weeks in and I’ve I lost 7.5 pounds. I know all loss matters but I figured since I have so much weight to lose it would fall of quickly at first. I also just started Mounjaro for my Blood sugar and it makes me feel so nauseous, it feels like I am making myself feel like crap for little results.

    Birthday thoughts:

Last night I woke up after a dream at 1:30 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up and read my book. As I started back to bed I felt disappointed at the start of my birthday. I have been struggling to lose weight since the holidays. I tried at News Years and then at Chinese New Years to get back into losing. I’ve decided that birthdays are your own personal new years day. Part of the problem is that we had a car accident to deal with and have to replace a car so I have been distracted with that so exercise has been harder recently.

However, as I started off to bed I realized I am making progress if I looked at this time last year. I was still working fulltime and feeling weaker then. I wasn’t exercising much. I wasn’t able to make as many home cooked healthy meals that have always helped me lose. Okay so I have only lost 20 lbs since I retired but I have kept it off. If my weight tries to sneak up I push it back down. I have had a few weeks when I slough off on exercise but for the most part I am exercising regularly. When I do, I feel stronger. Early last summer I couldn’t walk as long as I can now and I had to stop to rest along the way. I no longer have to rest and can walk a lot longer. I have really focused on nutrition. I have been researching it along with exercise and I have been getting rid of unhealthy foods and adding in healthier foods. I have gotten my weekly sweets down to maple syrup on whole grain blueberry pancakes on the weekend. So pretty much no unrefined sugar except for special occasions. So I went back to sleep feeling less discouraged.

I usually get good sleep and yesterday I improved my water intake not that it is that bad. My husband got me a special breakfast this morning and yes some refined sugar was involved. We are going out tonight for dinner but I suspect it will be relatively healthy. We plan to go for a walk around Greenlake Saturday and then to afternoon tea.

I had another realization this morning. I have been worried my normally healthy blood pressure might be getting in the borderline range. This morning, I realized it might be a side effect of the only medication I am on. I looked it up and it is. Fortunately it isn’t a necessary medication. Anyway here is to helpful realizations.

    Good morning everyone!

180.0 today, still on the way down from my high, but still pulling my average up. We'll turn this around.

I'm still sick, so I haven't been hitting my goals, but I've gotten close.

I typed out a whole post and a tag party, and then accidentally clicked on one of my tags, which made me lose the whole thing. Rich text editor is going to take some getting used to. 😫

But quick tags, and if I don't tag you, I'm sending big weight loss mojo your way!

@KeriA those sound like great birthday reflections! And happy birthday! It sounds like you're going to have a lovely birthday weekend!

@Mandi98U 7-8 lb a week is pretty normal weight loss for someone your weight, so I wouldn't stress about the speed of loss. A loss is a loss! As long as you stay steady and don't slow down to the point it's not normal rate of speed anymore, then you don't have to make adjustments (yet). Just keep trucking, and your continuing numbers will tell you how you're doing!

    Have a great day, everyone!

Yesterday I stayed under my MFP calorie goal and stayed under my TDEE but was slightly above my spreadsheet calorie goal. I almost forgot to add in my drink and cappuccino. I even slept well despite the cappuccino after dinner. Not bad for birthday night out. Taking a walk with my husband and doing my 7 minutes of exercise helped. I am getting an apple watch a smaller one and reconditioned ( I liked the color) for my birthday. Anyway so far so good on March goals. We had a lot of leafy greens and asparagus and protein.

@CupcakeCrusoe thanks for the birthday wishes. Hope you get well soon.

@Mandi98U 7-8 pounds are great but I can see why you might expect more on Mounjaro. March is going to be a good month.

Weight went up, but really it was a big spike showing my week of work trip, and I've been on the way down since. It doesn't help that I'm sick right now, either. We'll get there.

Sickness update: Still sick, but it's less in my nose today and more in my throat, which I'm taking as a good sign. We'll see. That does mean that I'm not going to the gym today, but I am going to Costco, which means I need to meal plan for the week.

Also today, dependent on energy level: lots of laundry, dishes, and bills. Bills I can do without much energy, so, definitely those. Tonight for dinner will be cheeseburgers for the fam, and a cheeseburger platter for yours truly. I haven't made one of those in a while, it's just a burger patty with condiments on a bed of greens with some potatoes cut up like fries. All the burger and fries taste, no bun or extra fries calories.

Alright, time to get to meal prep, since we're t-minus 2 hours until Costco opens, and I'd like to be there and back again (lol) before N's gymnastics class.

Have a great day, everyone! Be safe out there!

I accomplished a lot this weekend. I worked out 3 times this past week, I cleaned my house, removed my Mardi Gras decorations and put a few spring things out. I had a centerpiece that needed some sprucing up and got that done. We had a fun night Saturday with my son and his friend, we played a card game that I had never heard of before called head & feet. It is a fun game; I still don't have the scoring down yet, but we had a great time.

Hope you all have a great week!
