They've been advertising it for a month or so now. It's just got Rich Text (again, I think).

I knew they were changing, missing my smiley faces. I don't understand "Rich text" with less features, but will figure out with the help of certain ladies, especially you!😉

So sorry Tina to hear about your husband's leg breaks. What terrible luck! It's amazing he managed to fly home! It certainly will test your patience as he recovers. ❣️ Life always has a curveball to throw at us.

Zoom today with my schoolfriends. John has instructions to put the duck legs in the oven while I am otherwise engaged.

    Barbie -

I was going to post a reply and "quote" your post above, but looks like the ability to cut & paste & shorten it up is gone. I'll keep looking though. I thought spoiler was gone but found it in the "paragraph" symbol a couple layers in. I agree about too many faces and symbols to choose from, really miss the small selection. Decision fatigue!

I think I understand why the changes - they will probably make it easier for folks on certain phones and tablets. It's giving my brain an opportunity to learn and stretch, but I'm in the old "if it works, don't fix it" school, lol.

I could relate to you needing to keep Annie on a leash and sit with her when the chimney sweep was there. In the past, DH would hold Rosie when workers were in the house to keep her quiet and calm. Last summer when the HVAC serviceman came, I wasn't watching her and she decided the excitement was too much and decided to do her business in one of the bedrooms - I had forgotten to close the doors, sadly.

Grocery bills for a family…. I tried putting this whole section into a spoiler but it doesn't look like it's working. DRAT. It used to be so easy to highlight. Oh, well. Sorry!

I like to watch the cooking shows that come up on FB and YouTube. A gal popped in up my YT feed yesterday, she calls herself a lower middle income mom of 5 kids (family of 7). Her cooking style makes me laugh - she dumps and pours and her food looks pretty good. She fills cafeteria-style plates with the main dish, some fruit and usually a vegetable and then calls her gang to dinner. She makes cooking fun. Here's a sample put into a spoiler to save space. I see they call it "spoiler warning". Since there's no preview I don't know how this will look.

But, what shocks me I guess was she has several videos of going grocery shopping. She spends a lot on good quality meats and I don't fault her for that, and normally picks up inexpensive toys and some treats for the kids. But her grocery bill usually runs from $400 to $500 per trip, and it appears she only gets enough food for a couple day's worth of dinners.

I'm not judging her - if she makes it work, that's fine and that's her business.

But it did make me take a hard look at my own grocery budget. I try to come in at under $500 per month and that includes a few meals out. I do load up on some meats and items on sale when I find them. I normally have a couple eggs and slice of toast for breakfast and some type of bean soup or bean salad for lunch. And nuts including almonds and walnuts, which are getting expensive. My big meal would be dinner.

During the pandemic, some of my favorites disappeared for months so now when I see them I get a bunch - canned red salmon, for example. And it's spendy.

Anyhow, just an observation. I guess food would be my extravagance and I don't think what I buy is all that extravagant! But I can see how some seniors and folks with families on a limited budget have a tough time even with doing more home cooking and making a pound of hamburger stretch if needed.

Heading under paragraph symbol is new bold. I tried the photo size. If I do nothing it comes out large like my first post. Always something new to keep the mind humming! The icons look like what you find on Facebook.

When typing you can highlight and bold feature comes on along with you can add an delete word by crossing it out other feature isnospacebetweenwords. Not sure when I would use that! I am just playing around to learn some of the new features.

The paragraph icon is where spoiler is I haven't tried that one yet. The code block might be a way to quote someone. Put what you want to quote in code block. Then copy control C then past control V. I will try it now to see if it works.

YAY! Figured out picture sizing. When you copy in a picture, the icons at the top let you pick the size you want.

I first had to highlight and make a copy of Rita's post. Then I pasted into my comment. Then I went to paragraph icon and found code block under " . I did have trouble copying her comment I am going to try again. That is also where you find spoiler. I will figure that out another day!

Here I hit code block after highlighting it. To read entire quote I clicked on gray box and moved a black bar underneath it to read the whole quote.

So conclusion for me this new system will take some trial and error. So I think I know what to do if someone tries to quote someones post.

Did the Extreme Strength DVD then a pilates DVD. The plan fortomorrow is to do Tracy Long’s Back Up DVD

Went to Lady’sLunch. We’d gone to this place 2 years ago. Not bad. It’s just nice to be out with the people here.

Barbie – I really feel I was raised by my grandmother who raised her family during the depression. To this day I can still hear her saying “we paid for that” when I put a bit of water in a jar to get every last bit out.

Tina – I’m so sorry to hear about your hubby, but glad he’s getting help from others. Insurance sure can be a PITA….especially when it involves a foreign country. BTDT. Vince had to go to the hosp when we were in Switzerland. Regarding the TP issue: we compromised. I got what I wanted (it’s NOT going across the bathroom) and Vince is getting it recessed. But that was one thing I was absolutely not going to give up….no way. I hate it too much

Now doing two loads of laundry. I could have waited until tomorrow but the weather looks nice for tomorrow (meaning going out by the pool) and it’s raining out now so I’ll do it now.

Pip – Zach better watch out!

    M – happy birthday

Now to post this to see how it comes out

    Michele
