What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

Just got below 195 the other day. Next goal is 189.9! I'd also like to lose 0.75" off my waist next time I measure, which will be in a couple weeks. I measure every four weeks.

Went to a swing dance with some friends last night and it was so fun. I'd love to be able to do a dip next time though. Need to improve my core strength (doable through my fitness classes I just started!) and lose about 20 lbs (1/3 of my total weight loss goal) to feel comfortable doing it though.
Wish me luck! This goal finally feels like something I want to do for a good reason and not just a "I hate my body and want to be different" goal

I posted in here regularly last year during my journey. Mini goals are so helpful! I've lost over 50 pounds over 2 years focusing on small goals and moving slow and steady. Last month I achieved 134 pounds....having gone from Obesity to Normal weight. I weigh myself approximately once or twice a month on an accurate scale. This month I gained 2 pounds and currently at 136.....still maintaining a Normal weight. Still an overall loss of 50+ pounds.
I'd like to really focus on mini goals now. After doing research based on height bone structure and age....I've settled on a weight range of a low of 127 pounds and high of 134 pounds. As before...no time frame....but I certainly expect to hit this range this Summer. My first goal is to lose my excess 2 pounds or 134 pounds. I'll be resuming my Yoga, drinking more water and keeping my eye on nutrition choices.
I'll say May 20th for a date. 🙂

I haven't checked in for a while. Mostly because I am frustrated and sitting in a stall. I have fluctuated up and down with the same 6 pounds since the year began. I wanted to hit 163 by Feb 26th, but here I am on March 24, sitting at 164. Sigh. I'm not giving up, though. I just know that my body, as it always has, refuses to give up the last 20-30 pounds I need it to. In the past, I have always gotten frustrated and given up, but not this time. This is the closest I have ever gotten to my goal and I feel great. I'll just move my mini-goal posts. ;)
I have a wedding to attend in two months (May 25). I would just like to be in the 150s by then.11 -
Need to drop the 5lbs I put back on. It's a good thing I was paying attention… lol

I just got a new pair of jeans, and they fit. They're a size smaller! I've waited years for this.😄

@jennydowd I would suggest to both of you to find an excellent scale you can use for free. I use a large LED display physician scale at a local community centre. I've used it from my high of 188 thru my loss to 134 pounds. Over 2+ years. @xbowhunter Now that Im down to maintenance and a few pounds, just once a month will be enough to keep my weight in check and make necessary adjustments. I found that weight loss done correctly resulted in weight gain being really difficult. Jenny....I definitely felt that my weight would never come off. I STOPPED giving myself a date or deadline. I focused on painless small changes. Dont get in your head toomuch. Every day make a check list of doable habits that are easy and repeat until it becomes your life. Very small!! 5 minute walk 3 glasses of water one piece of fruit Its like a snowball.....each habit eventually becomes permanent and grows. I lost only 7 pounds my first year...but that was an improvement over gaining that amount! Naturally the loss sped up over the following year. Concentrate on staying healthy. 😊

Hang in there, it will happen. I was in a stall for about a year. As annoying as it was I was still grateful to be where I was rather than where I started. Eventually I started losing again and am now within 2;bs of my goal bit OMG those last 2lbs are stubborn. LOL

Good advice but this isnt my first rodeo and I have been maintaining for more or less 1 year. +5lbs doesnt make me panic. Today I am down to 147.5 and my goal weight is 145 so all is good on my world… :0)

Giving myself "mini rewards" throughout my weight loss journey. After 15 pounds, I treated myself to a Smoothie King Smoothie (Typically I don't do that). Now that I'm down 30 pounds, I am going to do a cheat meal. I have a family wedding in under 90 days that I am trying to lose 25 more pounds (down to 200), and another family wedding in under 180 days that I want to be down in/under the 190's.

"Cheat" meal? Who are you cheating? Why not just call it a TREAT meal and just have one. Or skip it altogether.
Twenty five pounds in 90 days is two pounds a week. That's an awfully fast rate, and it's likely not realistic.

Hike Table Rock in Idaho. I tried it a few years ago and it kicked my butt. I've been on a journey since then to get in better shape. I'm down 120lbs and turning 50 this year. I already have my trip planned and I will do this hike.

I am going to Toronto in June to attend my first every Blue Jays games. (A life long dream is finally coming true!). I want to be down into the 130s by then. I am currently at 149. Perfectly feasible as long as I stay consistant.

My mini goals past few weeks M-F only:
*Take my multivitamin
*Eat healthy for one meal a day
*No breakfast but liquids.
*Drink herbal tea everyday
*Drink minimum of 50 oz of spring water a day
*Red meat consumption limited once per week day and once for weekend.
I've been doing pretty good. I have a vegan week challenge coming up in April so my lunches are salads with lean protein and tons of veggies. I am eating at least two servings of fruit a day. One of them have to be citrus.

My mini goal is to fit into my size 12 jeans, again 🙃 I was wearing them last year and then I had surgery… it's time to get back to where I was! Onward!

My mini goal is to get below 330lbs.
I've got 14.6lbs to go to get here. I know it won't take long but the last few times I've started that's where I seem to stall and lose hope/give up. Not this time!

I got back on MFP after a year of not caring anymore and emotional eating. I figured I have 8 weeks before a big annual meeting and I know I can lose 2 lb per week and get back into the work pants I will want to wear. I only have 2 pairs left that fit now and they are winter pants. Plus if my best friend can lose the weight she gained last year, so can I!

My goal is getting rid of visceral fat. When I read about it…how it Is this live thing that causes insulin resistance, cancer..and every other horrid medical problem.. I decided.. it has to go! I'm making good progress.

I have been logging on and off for several years, but a doc visit with an A1C (first ever test, prompted by bloodwork) of 6.5 and a rec for Metformin, I got serious. I told him to give me 3 months to see what I could do w/o drugs. Have logged every day since that visit (1/27/2025). I was fairly active but upped my walking game to 1 hour/day in addition to whatever other activities I was doing (Zumba, pickleball, etc. I'm retired) Was 209 on that fateful day; have cut out all potatoes, bread, ice cream, pasta. Add veg to all three meals. Weighed in on 3/21 at 189.9. Mini goal: 182 by next doc appt on 4/28 (next A1C test.).

@13ilgal413 rooting for ya, I got my A1c from 7.5 to 5.8 just by diet and exercise. The hard part is staying there. You got this.

I make my current mini goal today (153) Next mini goal is 150. I have 8 pounds to lose before I am no longer overweight. Then I want to get down to the 120s.

Get back on track, make a plan I can stick with, cut most sugar and write about it everyday (not here)

@anxietyfairy For quitting sugar I highly recommend Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Emotional Eating or his other book Good Sugar Bad Sugar (which I haven't read, but I've been told is great also). His writings have completely changed my relationship with sugar. (And they've helped my anxiety as well, which I'm guessing would be another bonus for you, if your username is any indication.) Best wishes!
