What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

@Verburgfamily Good thinking! I did the same thing -- I made myself a bingo card with mini goals, and crossed them off as I went. Then I made a new card whenever I got a bingo
Because my big goal was far too big for me to even imagine that I could ever accomplish it! I'm about half-way there now
One day and one mini goal at a time. You got this! 10 -
307.4. New low. Otw to 299.8

Currently 84.4 kg and mini goal is to get under 80kg in next four weeks7

a mini-goal driving me right now is a simple task of ensuring that i drink a cup of green tea daily to help boost my metabolism. I don't want to use sugar to raise my insulin but I do like it with a wee bit of honey to add some flavor.5

@scottydewwannalosewt
Evidence that drinking tea "boosts metabolism" is dubious. Using caffeine can make us be more active and therefore burn more calories, and green tea contains caffeine.
Honey is sugar, and it will raise blood sugar when eaten.

I wear my Crocs a lot. (A slightly too large pair works well for scuba diving, as my drysiot socks fit under to them). I wasn't paying attention on a recent morning, and ended up wearing them at work at the office. I was waiting for a friend in reception, which caused Security to accuse me of being a vagrant sheltering from the cold.anxietyfairy wrote: »@anxietyfairy
I love that you are breaking up your goals into much smaller goals so you can observe repeated success. I think it's fantastic that you've decided NOT to "reward" yourself with food. Very wise!
That said, if you have some time you might look in on some research on wearing Crocs all the time. I have a pair, and I wear them often. Not in winter. They're great on river trips; I can leave them near the boat and put them on to wade out and climb aboard so my "dry" sandals stay dry and don't get coated with sand. The research I'm aware of may not apply to us because we are adults; however I did hear on NPR that Crocs aren't good for kids to wear exclusively. They can inhibit proper foot development and lead to hammer toe. Get the pink Crocs, but maybe wear some "real" shoes part of the time.
You can read the NPR story from October if you want all the details.
Thanks. I also wear flip flops a lot (probably not good), and I have a pair of hiking boots. I brought some second hand sports shoes online but have been avoiding wearing them because I think they might give me blisters and I don't want to regret my purchase, lol, perfectly logical thinking.

I wish I could drink green tea. It's supposed to be healthy as well as boosting metabolism. Better for blood pressure. And I do love my tea! But it makes my tummy do flip flops. I've never heard anyone else say anything like that, so I don't know why. But I've tried it several times and it always does.
Bestie wishes!

Finishing the 48 peaks above 4k in NH, got about half to go and I need to drop a few before summer.3

I'm definitely behind schedule, but I finally wore my jeans yesterday! Still a size 14 (I found one pair I had forgotten to donate) but it felt great nevertheless to finally wear something that's not yoga pants
Now onward to size 12!
My other mini goal right now is to get back below my pre-surgery weight (where I was at the end of September). Just over 10 lbs to go. Which should be right about the time those size 12's fit again.takinitalloff wrote: »My mini goal is to get back into my size 12 pants. I donated all my size 14's because they were way too big, and I was well on my way to the next smaller size. Then I had to have a hysterectomy and had to wear pants with a soft waistband for a while to protect the incision site, as well as having to severely limit my exercise for the duration of my recovery. And then (for a variety of reasons) I started "anxiety eating" and gained back some weight. So now it's time to stop that nonsense and put the stretchy pants back on the "exercise" shelf where they belong! I look forward to wearing jeans and regular pants again, hopefully by the end of the year.7 -

You're goal is almost the same as mine! Goal of 240 by my Bday (June 22), final goal ~180. I'm planning on an adventure vacation in Hawaii as a victory vacay for making my goal!6 -
My current mini-goal is measuring my blood sugar every morning. That keeps a lot of other things in check.7
-
My mini is to get from 188 to 185….then on to 165, where I will reevaluate.7

Doing a 3 month lean bulk/cut cycle, I'm around day 30 out of 60 of the bulk portion and I hit 100lb for 8 reps on back squat!! (I weight 115). My next mini goal is to be 120lb at 18% body fat by the end of this cycle, and I've already seen a lot of growth!5

Such a good idea. So hard. Seems like anything you buy at a restaurant, in a box or can has added sugar.5 -
Just got below 195 the other day. Next goal is 189.9! I'd also like to lose 0.75" off my waist next time I measure, which will be in a couple weeks. I measure every four weeks.

Went to a swing dance with some friends last night and it was so fun. I'd love to be able to do a dip next time though. Need to improve my core strength (doable through my fitness classes I just started!) and lose about 20 lbs (1/3 of my total weight loss goal) to feel comfortable doing it though.
Wish me luck! This goal finally feels like something I want to do for a good reason and not just a "I hate my body and want to be different" goal

I posted in here regularly last year during my journey. Mini goals are so helpful! I've lost over 50 pounds over 2 years focusing on small goals and moving slow and steady. Last month I achieved 134 pounds....having gone from Obesity to Normal weight. I weigh myself approximately once or twice a month on an accurate scale. This month I gained 2 pounds and currently at 136.....still maintaining a Normal weight. Still an overall loss of 50+ pounds.
I'd like to really focus on mini goals now. After doing research based on height bone structure and age....I've settled on a weight range of a low of 127 pounds and high of 134 pounds. As before...no time frame....but I certainly expect to hit this range this Summer. My first goal is to lose my excess 2 pounds or 134 pounds. I'll be resuming my Yoga, drinking more water and keeping my eye on nutrition choices.
I'll say May 20th for a date. 🙂

I haven't checked in for a while. Mostly because I am frustrated and sitting in a stall. I have fluctuated up and down with the same 6 pounds since the year began. I wanted to hit 163 by Feb 26th, but here I am on March 24, sitting at 164. Sigh. I'm not giving up, though. I just know that my body, as it always has, refuses to give up the last 20-30 pounds I need it to. In the past, I have always gotten frustrated and given up, but not this time. This is the closest I have ever gotten to my goal and I feel great. I'll just move my mini-goal posts. ;)
I have a wedding to attend in two months (May 25). I would just like to be in the 150s by then.13 -
Need to drop the 5lbs I put back on. It's a good thing I was paying attention… lol

That's going to make the difference this time - STICK TO IT!

I just got a new pair of jeans, and they fit. They're a size smaller! I've waited years for this.😄

@jennydowd I would suggest to both of you to find an excellent scale you can use for free. I use a large LED display physician scale at a local community centre. I've used it from my high of 188 thru my loss to 134 pounds. Over 2+ years. @xbowhunter Now that Im down to maintenance and a few pounds, just once a month will be enough to keep my weight in check and make necessary adjustments. I found that weight loss done correctly resulted in weight gain being really difficult. Jenny....I definitely felt that my weight would never come off. I STOPPED giving myself a date or deadline. I focused on painless small changes. Dont get in your head toomuch. Every day make a check list of doable habits that are easy and repeat until it becomes your life. Very small!! 5 minute walk 3 glasses of water one piece of fruit Its like a snowball.....each habit eventually becomes permanent and grows. I lost only 7 pounds my first year...but that was an improvement over gaining that amount! Naturally the loss sped up over the following year. Concentrate on staying healthy. 😊
