Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 292

Round 292
April 1 - 10, 2025
Please join us starting on 3/22 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 292!
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.
👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE

Hi, I'm Charissa.
Thank you, @quiltingjaine for continuing these supportive rounds!
April = March Do Over!! It WAS working….
January: good until I got sick. (I rarely get sick ~ thanks grandkids! )
February: it seemed my body was trying to overcompensate for being sick....it was odd.
March R1: I did fairly well last round, Down 2.2 vs the 3.3 that I wanted but I will take as a win. Continuing my focus for the month, micromanaging! My March BHAG ~Big Hair Audacious Goal is to lose 10lbs. 10lbs in March translates to about 3.9 pounds for the next 2 rounds. March R2 ~ screech and halt. I stopped micromanaging and was just mentally blah. Back on it for the remainder of the month. Surely won't do 10 but I can stay below my ending February number! How Will I do this:
Micromanager ~ proactive and timely review of my actions.
Aiming for 10k steps per day. Aim to burn 2,900+ calories (per Apple watch which translates into closing my move goal)
TDEE experiment ~ I will elaborate on this after a couple of weeks.
Modified Goals (see below)
Overall Goals for 2025
Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾♀️
Q: What will be different in 2025 vs all the other times?
A: Change in my mindset
A: Being mindful and engaged
A: Addressing the elephant in the room!
A: No excuses
A: DETERMINED AND ENGAGED
Note: These are pretty much my same goals from 2023 and 2024, I've made some great progress but now it's time to knock this list out! My goals are SMART - just not including all the details here:
Goal#1 - Calories - 1650. **Eat well 🥗to Live Well ?✈️🚢💼
Goal#2 - Wine/Alcohol Reduction - 85% Dry March or better ** 🚫🍷Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!
Goal #3 - Water - Minimum 50 ounces - Maximum 100 (only if consumed before 6pm) H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Goal #4 - Exercise - 6 days a week (Cardio, Core, Stretching, Strength Training) ~ 🚶🏾♀️➡️🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goal #5 - Self Care (Reading, Journaling, Monthly recap, Learning, Pampering)
Goal #6 - Organization and Declutter (Finish unpacking)Stats and Previous Rounds

🎷 66 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 292(my 222nd). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine.
Goals for this round;
First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 66 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

EW RND 291 – 139.6
3/31
139.6 (trend 140.6) managed a very early 5.9 mile walk before leaving the camp site planning on visiting MIL. Halfway through the drive we had a phone call from her care home (she has advanced dementia) to say she had taken a turn for the worse. It's now a waiting game, taking turns with BIL & partner to sit at her bedside, at least she is comfortable and not in pain.
SW RND 292 139.6
4/1 DNW – spent last night at MIL’s bedside, trying to keep eating healthy, exercise out the window. Using yesterday’s number as my start weight; lost 1.8 pound last round.

04/01 175.6 That’s from being too busy to over eat yesterday! I am very slowly trending downwards. Seeing that five is very motivating, especially at the start of a new round and a new month. I’m pretty sure I’ll swing up again but there is a glimmer of hope.
Yesterday I took my to-do list out of my head and on to paper. No wonder I’ve been feeling like an under achiever, it’s an impossible list for one day. I didn’t realize it until it was written down. I have to reconfigure my expectations for myself and get back into using a more organized system to accomplish tasks. I’ve been in my off season la la land but reality is shifting and I need to transition smoothly. The background low grade anxiety that I’ve been feeling for the last week or two is definitely less today.
April is the pivot month although with a windy high of 45 today I’m not feeling the excitement.
I had my second belly dancing class last night. After feeling like a potato for the first, my friend and I decided the secret to our success was going to be dressing the part. So instead of our typical workout clothes, scrubbed faces and tightly pulled back hair; we showed up hair down, lipstick on, dangling earrings with flowy pants and tight little tops! We dressed the part, we faked it! And we did fantastic!!!!

This is my posting format….Month/Day: Scale Reading - First thing today after bathroom visit before getting dressed. (Calories In)/ Comment
3/31/25 : 227.8 SW a day before.
4/1: 228.4 (2336 CI)
This is not the best way to start a round, but I am not surprised. On the bright side, exercise was great yesterday. Food, not so great. I have put a lot of effort into logging my food that past few weeks. CI (calories in) has been pretty consistently over 2,000 before CO (calories out). Believe me, if I weren’t logging it would be over 3,000. Now I need to try to be more restrictive. I have set my goal on the app for 1,500,, but I will be happy if it slips to 1,700.I am going to focus on a “word of the round.” GRATITUDE. I have so much for which to be thankful.

I know this round will be filled with emotional upheavals. I will prioritize/normalize #HSF and the positive daily habits I’ve accumulated to anchor my soul. When I “feel” the push-back— I will push through!
I sincerely thank you for your wisdom & caring support. While reading yesterday, I realized the strength and resilience this group generates…

April 1 – 10, 2025
SW: 131.2
4/1 – 132.0 Yes, up, but ok with it. Last night, I went on a mini bender. Knew I was doing it, and allowed it. Today is a new day. My planned goal for round 292 was to get into the 131s. So was actually there yesterday. Going to target a number like 131 for end of round. Today is session #6 with the trainer. We are having gaps in our schedule, but I am ok with this as right now as I am seeking education more than being “trained”.

Crawling back yet again. I really fell off the wagon a few weeks ago. I guess since I don't have a job to tether me to my desk, I can't tether my brain to the group, and consequently just let myself go completely. Hoping to get back on track this round!

4/1 - 125.8. Seems like I shed some water overnight, phew. I'll keep trying to drink a ton of water. There's been a lot going on lately. The biggest thing right now is that one of my dogs, Willie, has a soft tissue sarcoma in his right hind leg. After getting a large lump behind his knee surgically biopsied over a week ago and dealing with that recovery, we found out we need to have his leg amputated. It seems like dogs do pretty well with 3 legs, but I know the recovery is going to be intense. I guess it's a good time to be underemployed. Maybe I've been too distracted with all of this to focus on my health and fitness. But it's time to start trying again. Grateful to have this group to return to.
