Well, I got off to a really slow start this year, but March turned out to be a good reset for some healthy habits. I even lost a few pounds. Posting on JFT made me more accountable, and logging regularly helped me make better food choices and keep my calories in the green. This month's focus will be on getting more exercise and engaging more with other JFTers.
Recap Monday, 3/31
- Log ✅
- Hydrate ✅
- Exercise ✅ - Nice walk and beachcombing adventure with my daughter and her boys ❤️
- Make appointments ✅
- Ikea ✅ - I got nearly 3000 steps in and got what I needed.

PackerFanInGB I am sorry you all have been sick and haven't been able to celebrate. Wishing you all a quick recovery and back to normal soon. As far as the idea about driving south.. yes I would like to return to the south. We woke up to snow this morning.. and still snowing… Happy April Fools I guess.
Today I woke up and got on the scale and was very surprised. I have finally hit the 165 number that I have been chasing for 3 months. I am hoping its not a fluke.

Been MIA for the last week. I was really sick Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. Luckily things eased up a little before we headed for our mini vacation Thurs - Monday. I still had to take cold medicine and ibuprofen, but as long as I was dosed I felt ok. We went to Indianapolis to watch some of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. We also went to a some great bar/restaurants, a cool blues bar, a comedy club and got to have lunch with very missed friends. We did a lot of walking to places, but tended to Uber back to the hotel. Unfortunately, hubby left his phone in one of the Ubers. Uber was not much help, but his phone was insured so he got a new one yesterday.
Back at work today, and I think I have everything about caught up. Still have the sinus headache, but it's just a minor annoyance right now. Plans for today are really to get things caught up at work, pick up the dogs, then get caught up at home. Oh and help V with a scholarship application for her Hong Kong semester. The more scholarship the better!

To all the JFTers battling illness, wishing you all a speedy(ier) recovery!
@HappyDonkey75 Congrats on your weight-loss progress! Great to hit a sought-after milestone. Sorry about more snow. We have been getting snow every few days, which then melts and repeat. More forecast for tonight to be followed by rain tomorrow. Oh joy.
Recap 3/31 M ~ Snowed overnight but not much, sun already melted most of it. Another winter storm forecast for Wed. I'm getting tired of the weather whiplash.

Yeah it was a bit annoying! The Dr asked me how she was doing in school and I couldn't say much because we hadn't even had parents evening yet so I have no idea about her general progress.
The Dr kinda said that she's showing "borderline" ADHD. Meaning all the previous observations and what we and the teachers have said all point to it but she passed the qB test.
The good thing is, she's not been discharged from the service as a complete no. She gets retested in a year and the info goes to to the school too so the school said they can look at it and see whats what.
The Dr was getting at "maturity levels" and I was thinking 'if all of this is to do with "maturity" and you're telling me most kids to this at this age then why the hell am I the only one in a meeting with a Dr".
Just doesn't make sense but F it. Try it again in a year!
I overall hope she doesn't have it but I was just scared of losing the support she gets from school but school said that's irrelevant and if she needs support she needs support, not a diagnosis to get support if that makes sense

Got most of the fun stuff done, skipped the house work. Went to the grocery after work, but before we got the dogs, and got stuff to have for lunch at work. I tend to not eat all day and then eat crap in the evening and not in small quantities because I'm famished. I know me and know this is a pitfall of mine. SO why didn't I do this sooner? Guess I wasn't really ready to change and forgive myself for messing this up. When I went to the doc last month I weighed in at 205… Crazy when 4 years ago I was at 130, and 8 years ago I was at 105. My energy levels are still low, but I can fix my diet. I've really cut down on the beer and this morning I was back below 200, 196.8 to be exact. that's like 8 pound in 3 weeks with only minor changes to my diet/life. Less beer, more walking (a little more, not much). I was happy with the scale even though it's still really high.
Plan today is fruit (2 tangelos) in the morning. Turkey sandwich at lunch, small snack in the late afternoon. Dinner will be at a bar, but If I'm not starving I can easily eat a half portion and I'll limit the beer to 2 in 2.5 hours. I'm a Diet Pepsi girl, and the bar serves Coke products, but the bar tenders like me so they let me bring my own soda in if I want.
Other than that, I need to go to mom's and play with the dogs.

@pridesabtch Congrats on your w-i, you should feel good about that. My eyes popped when you said you don't eat much until evening… that would kill me. I've been a 3-meals a day person since I was a young kid, or my energy is non-existent and I'm cranky, plus snacks if my activity level is up.

(Not such a great day as far as completing goals go….😬)
Hey JFT friends! I know it’s late, but need to be accountable and these are the goals I had in my head this morning. Hubby and I are both headachy and tired again today. This is crazy…it’s been a month! Sick and tired of being sick and tired! Ugh! 🤯 So, although I’m listing the goals my brain has for today, realistically I may not get them all done. And I’m okay with that right now. Yesterday we went grocery shopping at Woodman’s, and I got so lightheaded I thought I was going to pass out. I am hoping by cooking healthier meals and eating healthier snacks, I will get on track to feeling better soon.
It’s gray and gloomy again today. Possible thunderstorms this afternoon. I am really looking forward to warmer weather when we can sit out on the deck for morning coffee or sit outside and just read a book. I suppose I could do it now, but I’d need to put on a coat, hat and mittens…🥶☔️🌧️😁
@HappyDonkey75 Congrats on your weigh-in! Same to you, @pridesabtch! Going in the right direction! Yay!
I set a goal for myself to lose 4 lbs this month. I should be able to lose 1 lb a week by making small changes, like cutting back on emotional eating and paying attention to whether I’m actually hungry or if I’m just bored. The amount of mindless snacking I do is definitely a factor… I just need to be more aware of it and find something else to do for boredom besides eat…easier said than done though. The NFL draft is being held in Green Bay this month. We only live a mile or so away from Lambeau Field, so I’m getting kind of excited about it, but getting leery of the traffic and crowds it’s going to bring at the same time. I sure hope the weather clears up! Lots of activities planned in the city and it will be so good for our local businesses, as long as it’s nice enough for people to get out and about. It’ll be interesting, to say the least. 😃🏈💚💛
Have a great day! 🪷

That damn scale bounced back up another 1.5 lbs to the same numbers I have been stalled at..:(
I am frustrated …maybe it was just a scale glitch maybe but I guess I haven't broken the stall like I hoped. I honestly can't figure out at this point how to get that number to keep dropping. I am doing all the right things.. I guess I will stay the course and keep hoping at this point.
It might be time to invest in one of those body scale that measures water weight and a bunch of other factors. Anyone have any recommendations on brand that is below $50 ?
I am still off my GLP's for now. I am managing ok as long as I stay hydrated and conscious of my food choices. I do have to eat more smaller meals with protein to keep my hunger at bay. I tend to be more hungry in the mornings which is odd , I normally am not that way.

@angf0679 - What a thoughtful gift for your former student! I'm sure it will be treasured. I did a lot of cross stitch when I was younger, but lately I've been crocheting amigurumi. I'm working on some fun projects for my grandkids based on their interests. (The 14-year-old fishing fan wants a largemouth bass!) I bought some great big plastic eggs from Dollar Tree to put them in as final prizes for the egg hunt my daughter organizes every year. I've only started the first one, a perky little salamander for the 12-year-old, so I have a way to go.
@PackerFanInGB - Sorry to hear you've been under the weather for so long. I hope you feel better soon ❤️

Yesterday was pretty good. I did fall prey to some chips at the bar last night, but I stayed on track with the 1/2 sandwich and 2 beers. Definitely had higher calorie nights recently. With the chips I went over calories, but not by much. Still well within maintenance.
Today was all meetings all morning, followed by a bit of a break until 2pm, then an audit and more meetings. Though I went to bed before 10:00 last night I woke up around 3 to snoring and high winds/lightning. The storm scared the pup, so I went downstairs and hung out with him until 6:30 when Tim came down to feed them. Then I made the mistake of lying down for 15 minutes, which turned into 30 and eventually 40. I finally drug my bum out of bed and got ready. Brushed my teeth, wiped off old makeup, hair in a ponytail, and off I went. To say I look rough may be an understatement. I struggled to stay focused in my morning meetings. Almost a headache, almost light headed. Very weird sensation. Hoping now that I ate lunch (yes! 2 days in a row…) I will perk up a bit.
Plans for the evening include taking my mom TP, sweeping the floors and perhaps mopping them. It's raining and muddy so I may wait to mop until tomorrow as it will be a futile exercise today. Tim is making steak and potatoes for dinner this evening.
