No computer time today until this evening, so no goals posted for today. With another very windy day & colder, no dog walk. Hubby and I were busy shopping at home improvement store & final grocery shop before Easter. I did tasks around the house until we went out for early supper at Olive Garden. We both brought leftovers home plus got the "take one" offer, and I won't have to cook meals when I'm busy prepping for Easter dinner this week. I'll recap yesterday & post for tomorrow.

Recap 4/14 M ~ Windy day, mild temps… doggo feeling better & hubby may walk her around neighborhood while I do my stuff in the house. 😊 Yep, hubby took dog for walk while I cleaned with the scary vacuum.

    • Leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets ~ peanuts w/ sea salt, string cheese / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero ~ not exactly sure with cleaning activity to offset 😐️
    • OT exercises ~ I will keep up with these before my (possibly final) OT appt on Th 🙂 / min. 5000 🙂steps
    • Choir rehearsal 6:30 (upstairs in music room this time) 🙂 / shower before 🙂
    • One spring cleaning task ~ vacuumed all upstairs rooms & hallway, even moved heavy chairs 😊 yay, only tasks left hubby has said he'll do: final clean of downstairs floors & clean bathrooms (I may help) / load/run dishwasher / wash pots & pans / 2 loads laundry / usual M garbage chores / light dusting in family room & start decorating 😏 on Tues instead but done! plus cleaned in kitchen / do NOT fill Easter baskets with candy (reserved for the weekend) 😄 / final meal plans & grocery list ~ last shop before Easter done Tues / read / digital decluttering / other? rehearsed music 😁 ta-da!

JFTomorrow 4/16 W ~ Hopefully wind dies down & I can walk doggo.

    • Leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero
    • OT exercises (edema hanging on nearly 5 months later, which is a bother) / walk dog
    • Put washed cookie jars & decoration boxes in basement / wash pots & pans / plan advanced food prep schedule for week & organize for each recipe / clean dining room again, decorate & get out dishes / fold & put away line-dried laundry / call Mom / text middle brother re plans / rehearse Good Friday & Easter music / read / digital declutter / declutter / other?

WOTY 2025:  Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

    @HappyDonkey75

There was so many posts I wanted to reply to so I'll try remember it all and get it into one!

The 5-6 rep range is actually okay!

Are you trying to increase the weight over time?

As a general rule for me, if I can do 8 or more reps then it's easy.

If I can only do 2-4 reps, I see that as too hard.

So 5-6 is the sweet range for me, where it's not so hard that I can barely lift or have awful form but not so easy that it barely feels like a workout.

Also, sometimes by my third set, I too have to drop down a little! This is also fine to do, usually I find my.last set has poorer form so I prefer to drop down, do it correctly.

But this is where you build up, soon you'll be able to do 8 reps easy with a 20kg. And that's where you go up again, until you can only get 5-6 out of 22kg for example.

I'm so sorry about the dogs incidents! That must be hard! Biggie has had accidents in the past but only due to off stomach from something stupid he's eaten! But it's better to laugh about these things!

Oh and as for your scales! There's some fancy scales at our gym that weigh all them extra bits too.

When you were saying about metabolic age I was like omg 😂 I have no idea about it's accuracy but if it makes you feel better by MA was 47... I'm 33 😳

I didn't know whether I wanted to break the machine or cry LOL

    Sometimes however it's useful.

Last week if I had stood on average scales, I would have shown a weight increase of 1kg. And when I saw it I was pretty deflated myself. But when I looked into all the other stuff, my fat was down by half a kg and my water and muscle had increased!

So my extra weight was actually muscle and water. So I had lost fat. And I actually felt much better about it.

Sorry Ive been away again guys! Lots going on here.

Ash mum is seriously unwell. She's been unresponsive for a couple of days now and they said "months" but I'm thinking more weeks..if not days.

It's really hard because the kids are off for Easter too. We've not been able to do much so far.

I had a completely rage at my dad. If you all remember the lousy comment from a few weeks ago.

Well the other day I needed his help, despite not wanting to speak to him still. We had promised Ash's dad that we would go to his house first thing in the morning to let out their dog. As he chose.to stay the night at the hospital (for the first time) as she was so unwell.

And their house isn't just "down the road" it's a good 40miles away. So 80mile round trip.

The same morning Ash was in excruciating pain with his tooth, I'd had luckily found codeine in the house but it was still unbearable.

So I booked him an emergency appt. Which was at the same time we needed to go to to their house and we only have 1 car. So I ring my dad for the lift.

Straight away complaining about the lift, complain he has to go to the gym and he has an "appointment" at the gym.

I think I shouted he was lousy and put the phone down. Ash then got the phone and rang him again to explain he kind of needs to pull his finger out and help..meanwhile I'm screaming all sorts of obscenities about him in the background.

The thing with my dad, even at 33 he still treats me like a child. And I was sick of it,.sick of it all, sick of not being able to say something because "he's my dad" and "can't upset dad or swear at dad because it's dad".

Well that went out the window. He showed up, still with a stinky attitude about the way I spoke to him.

There was no warning, I erupted. I was screaming at him in the street, threatening him if he didn't stfu and drive me then I'd probably F him up. He tried to come over and comfort me and I slapped his hand away

He tried one last time "don't speak to me like that Becky"

And he got full double barrels off me and then he actually did shut up and did give me the lift.

In the car it was calmer, he did say "if you had just explained.." and I said "I don't always have time to explain and either way, why do I have to explain? If I need help with something, I need help. I don't need to explain so you can be judge jury and executioner if I actually "need" help.

Anyway, he's F-ing off on holiday today so atleast he's out of my hair for a bit and he's probably gonna BS to my mum too but I really don't care.

What annoys me more is that he has two cars. And he said sometimes like "were only down to one car ourselves" I asked why and he said "oh we lent it to someone else because theirs packed in and they needed to get somewhere."

I audibly scoffed. He never lends me a car. (This is where the child thing comes in)

So yeah, I said to ash I feel like that one argument took all my days energy and I just wanted to share it here because I can't put any of my issues on Ash at the minute even though he comforted me more than anything.

I just feel like people always says "anything you need, I'll help" but they don't actually help when we need it.

And also he keeps telling me about one of his friends who has had a stroke and has had to move back home from Greece to use the F-ing NHS even though she moved to Greece permanently a few years ago.

And I'm just like IDGAF? I thought family would be more important than a friend. But that's also who they've lent the car too.

So he pulls his finger out for everyone else to "look good" but not for those who need it

We were both feeling better last evening so we went out to dinner. Neither of us wanted anything heavy or rich. I just got a salad with grilled chicken. Unfortunately they changed their Italian dressing to a creamy Italian which I don't care for. I just used a little oil and vinegar and called it good, but the salad was disappointing. Still nice to feel well enough to have dinner out. Weight was up a tad today and will likely go up a bit for the next couple of days while I rehydrate and start eating again.

And yes boys and girls, I actually took a shower in the evening as planned. This rarely happens, usually it's a quick one in the morning where I don't wash my hair. Those are ponytail days… We have some big wigs at work this week, so I'm putting slightly more effort into my appearance. I must usually look like poo, because even the lady at the convenience store commented that my hair looked nice. Well, it is clean and straightened…

Light morning at work, but the afternoon is rather busy. We have a meeting over lunch, but I'm still going to try to eat what I brought instead of the "snacks" they are providing. Definitely need to go to mom's this evening, but will need to go home first for the doggos. Will likely need to do a grocery store run for mom. Then it will be off to trivia. Goal for tonight is to order a half portion of dinner and limit to 2-3 light beers. Not sure how the tunny will do, so I will play that by ear. Then home and bed.

Yesterday doesn't look bad at a glance. Only 2 ❌'s, but those were pretty big misses. I didn't set a goal to limit my alcohol consumption, and I didn't. If I plan to only have 2 or maybe 3 that's fine, but when I don't plan, I don't do well. Somebody bought us shots and I don't typically drink liquor. 3 beers and 2 shots started the ball rolling. I ended up with multiple additional drinks and shot pool. I went over calories and got home later than planned. In the grand scope of things it is just one day, and I have limited my alcohol to 2 days a week rather than the 5-6 it used to be. Today is a new day and I will not let yesterday wipe out the last month of good choices or snowball.

Light day at work today, morning meetings were canceled and a few of the afternoon meetings were rescheduled. I have a hair appointment after work, then I am going to start cleaning Vanessa's room. Wish me luck!!!

    Hey JFT friends! Happy Thursday!

I've missed a few days again. I had my long infusion appointment on Tuesday, which I have every 3 months. The shorter ones don't make me anxious anymore…it's just an injection every 3 weeks for those. But the infusion into my port every 3 months always makes me a little anxious and when I'm anxious I am an emotional eater… So, I've probably put on a few pounds over the past couple days. UGH. But everything went well, so no big deal. It's probably water weight and will come off by next week. I get bone pain with this infusion. It pulls calcium from my blood and deposits it into my bones, and my leg bones ache today so I know it's working at least! How's THAT for a positive spin? 😋

@Bex953172 I'm so sorry about Ash's mum. That just breaks my heart for all of you. 💞 Sucks that Ash is having tooth pain on top of everything too! Hopefully, communication will be better between you & your dad now that he knows how you feel. I wish I could give you a hug, friend. That's a lot happening and it's all sucky. 😢

    Just for Thursday

    1. 24H Plan and Assess ✔️

Went back into my food diary for yesterday and updated it with the drinks I had as opposed to what I thought I'd have. Turns out that even though I was over it was only 153 calories. Still within maintenance so no reason to beat myself up as long as I don't make a habit of it. Other good news is I didn't eat extra due to the drinking. That is a big improvement!

Recap 4/16 W ~ Hopefully wind dies down & I can walk doggo. 😁 Yes!

    • Leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets 🙂 string cheese / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero 😐️ According to MFP log -504, but according to Fitbit cal burn, more like zero (I don't have synched). Oh well, somewhere in there LOL
    • OT exercises (edema hanging on nearly 5 months later, which is a bother) 🙂 / walk dog 🐕️ even though walking app crashed in mi 1 (android phone 5 years old haha), figured out we walked 3.83 mi 😁 happy dog & happy me
    • Put washed cookie jars & decoration boxes in basement / wash pots & pans / plan advanced food prep schedule for week & organize for each recipe I only reviewed 1 recipe & decided I need to do prep & baking on Fri. & Sat. for best results / clean dining room again, decorate & get out dishes ~ started didn't finish / fold & put away line-dried laundry / call Mom ❤️ according to her, middle brother & wifey hadn't received their "invitation"… What invitation needed, I've only hosted the family for Easter since 1986!!! / text middle brother re plans 🙄 they're going to her parents instead so they won't be along (understandable but they could've told me) / rehearse Good Friday & Easter music / read ~ barely / digital declutter / declutter ~ a little / other? got out all Easter candy dishes & placed in family room; texted sister with updated dinner count (she's baking rolls) & she says middle brother is dumb… actually all my other sibs know this brother is different from the rest of us LOL 😀 ta-da!

Aaron agreed & says there's really no more they can do for me, as long as I continue with stretching & strengthening exercises which I've been doing at home. Aaron told the others I "graduated" today. I said thanks & good bye to Aaron, Lisa & Tracy and they don't want to see me anymore LOL. ⭐️ happy me

Happy Friday! Rainy day here in Wisconsin, so I'm thinking it is a good day to make a big pot of soup and maybe bake a cake.

I'm feeling kind of sad that I'm not having the family over for Easter this year, but I'm guessing since nobody reached out and asked about plans, they probably have other plans anyway. Just feels wrong, so I'll have to try to think of something special I can do…perhaps go to church and then take my mom to brunch? The restaurants will all be so crazy busy though…hard to get a table…so we shall see. Have to play it by ear I guess.

Today's been busy, late logging in. Hubby has been doing the last touches of cleaning, since I did the deep cleaning leading up to this week. Yesterday he vacuumed all carpets (up & down) while I walked dog, and started on bathrooms. He took on full cleaning of 2 1/2 bathrooms (I had asked he do that part) and finished this morning. Now he's gone to visit his two sisters (here in town) and I'm enjoying having the house to myself (rarely happens). Meanwhile, I've started food prep & getting out pans, serving pieces, etc. for Easter. I learned many years ago to pace myself with cleaning & prep, otherwise I'd be wiped out when entire family arrived and I couldn't enjoy them so much.

    Recap 4/17 Maundy Thursday

    • Leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets 😫 sampled way too many Easter basket pieces, also ate some mixed nuts (not many) / 80 oz. water / log all food ~ tried / net calories zero 🙄 who knows?

WOTY 2025:  Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

more_freggies76- I am very sorry about your husbands diagnosis . We mother in law had it but she had the Louis body version , which is quite different and I believe worse.Staying active is very helpful and there was alot of science we read up on for her sake at the time about some diet changes that can help. I want to say it was in line with Keto type food but might be worth checking into because I remember reading a few stories of some people actually able to reverse it through diet.

@Bex953172 - thank you for responding with all the info . yes I guess 5-6 reps with a heavy load isn't a bad thing at all. I have to remember that. I am so sorry about Ash's mum andthe situation with your dad.. I have had some big fights with mine over the years and I never come way feeling good about it. Parents aren't perfect that is for sure. I hope over time you can have a follow adult conversation to get some resolution

The knee has magically gotten better all on its own but I followed up with my appt with the ortho today just the same to make sure I was not missing anything. I have alot of hikes and workouts planned to continue build my strength. I really just wanted to make sure there wasn't something there I needed to be aware of and adjust for. Xrays said my knee looks fine. The surgeon thought it was maybe some meniscus issue starting but more than likely it was something with the way I twisted that did something to my knee cap , causing the popping.. He also thought there was a possibility that it was a popliteal cyst that burst .I have some tenderness on the medial area but otherwise, he wants me to proceed as normal. Its funny because moons ago I used to work at this doctors office in the billing department and he remembered me..We used to see him out bike riding when we were out trail riding on some of the nearby trail systems..

    ANYWHO

    JFT

Happy Good Friday for any of my co Catholics out there .

Need to get my upper body workout squeezed in after work and before we go for dinner with friends tonight.

Don't fall into peer drinking at dinner tonight! 1 glass of wine will do me fine!

Get my GLOW serum remade ( I make my own anti aging moisturizer and I am out.. )

Have a great Easter weekend if any of you celebrate it. we will probably plan to go to brunch somewhere

🔹THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
Daily weight fluctuations are NORMAL and can be more than 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.

    • Daily weight fluctuations are NORMAL and can be more than 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason. A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does NOT react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!
