How long did it take you to start losing again after giving birth?

I’m 7 weeks postpartum, not breastfeeding, and have been limiting my calorie intake to 1200-1400 calories a day for the past month. Despite this, I haven’t lost a single pound, although the app says I should have lost 7-8 by now. 😭
For those who lost weight after pregnancy and started making efforts right after birth, how long did it take you to start seeing the scale move again?

I lost 25lbs right after having my baby doing nothing. I’m 8 weeks postpartum. Im on day 4 of my actual weight loss journey. Scale went down 1.5lbs. Still early for me but I workout, eat 1200-1400 calories and log everything I eat. I don’t eat more because I workout either.

Is there a particular reason you're not breastfeeding? Just curious, because it does help burn a lot of calories if you're able. No judgement either way! Also, birth is a very traumatic experience for your body. Give it some grace, it takes time to recover.

I’ve had four children. Getting back to pregnancy weight came naturally and took longer after each one.
I have a suspicion that you are not eating enough calories.0 -
I can’t breastfeed for medical reasons, unfortunately

Totally understand. Not everyone can or wants to, and that's ok! Either way, I maintain eat at or maybe slightly below your maintenence calories. Let your body take its time. Excess weight should come off slowly. Don't rush it, especially when your body and your brain are still recovering. Don't buy into all the instagram, "look how I bounced right back after having my baby with these three tricks!!!!" BS. Cause that's all it is. BS.

Long time ago—-
Gained 40 pounds with first pregnancy, including baby lost 20 pounds in about 2 months.
Gained 40 more with second. Including baby, lost 40 pounds in about 6 weeks, 20 more by 3 months out. No diet, just took advantage of a volunteer babysitter to get out of the house and walk.

Are you saying you're still at the weight you were at immediately before giving birth, or that you lost weight during labor and delivery, but nothing since? If, the latter, you could have put on water weight after the birth as your body tried to heal various injuries/traumas that can be part of the delivery process (torn tissues, suturing, surgical procedures, etc.) If the former, maybe your scales need new batteries.
