Haven't been on here for so long.. and just jumping on to say hi to you all. We are still in the midst of many tests before hubbys aneurysm surgery. Now they have to check his kidneys since he will lost 30% of kidney function when they do the surgery… they have to block off one artery.
But.. I've just been busy shredding over 15 years of business records!! Yikes!! Hubby already had his identity stolen, so he does not want to take them anywhere for anyone else to shred. But.. I think I convinced him to try and see how they handle them. If they shred while we watch, maybe he will do ok.
I am doing really well on my diet though. I am not logging my food, but I found a youtube video where this lady lost 110 pounds.. and has kept it off for 10 years. She is so motivating.. and its all simple stuff. Eat what you want to eat.. but just make portion control the biggest thing. And swap out things for other. And.. lots of water. So… I've been doing this almost 2 weeks.. I am down roughly 8 pounds. Only 6 more pounds and I can finally get back into onderland. So.. I am motivated to keep going. I've always been good with the exercise part… that is one habit though the years I have changed. Even though I'm not logging my food on here.. I am keeping a notebook and writing it down. That also seems to work better for me because I can look back easily.
Plus my yearly physical is in May… so hoping to lose at to be back in onderland. I'll give you guys the link if you want. This lady gives suggestions as to cravings, how she stopped her out of control compulsiion with food, etc. I was finding that I was becoming so obsessed with what I eat.. it was not healthy. So.. at least so far, this is really working for me. For whatever reason.. her youtube channel was just what I needed… and what she says it so like me.
But hope you are all doing OK… I am like 200 posts behind!! I'll try and get on later to catch up on what I missed.

Was super tired yesterday didn't get much accomplished after work. Realized I missed my thyroid meds Wed & Thursday, that really knocks me down. I've actually been really missing lately on meds evening and morning. Need to add that to my daily tasks. I am a much happier healthier person when I'm consistent.
Did NOT want to get up this morning. Even laid back down after letting dogs out. Made it to work in time for my 7:30am. I do look a little like a vagrant. Ballcap and no make up. Hoping I see no other upper management today. Weight was up a tick again today. It's hard to tell in this stage of life, but I'm guessing it's a TOM thing based on how I feel. At 51 I thought I'd be past this by now, but I'm still in flux.
Need to get laundry under control this evening and get some exercise in. The weather has settled so I should be able to get outside.
Tomorrow is a regatta (college rowing) day so my steps will be high. We pretty much walk around with the pup for 3 hours while watching the kid race.

@mytime6630 - Happy (belated) anniversary! I hope your husband's surgery is scheduled soon and goes well.
@Bex953172 - So sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family find comfort in your memories.
@HappyDonkey75 - Glad to hear your knee issue is less serious. Good for you on doing something for yourself. As women, we often take so much upon ourselves without considering what we need to stay healthy and moving forward.

Yesterday's weather was lovely, lifting my spirits and my energy level for a bit. I got a lot done early in the day but took a nap later in the afternoon. I'm hoping to get some work done in the garden and walk with my husband before the rain moves in. I'm still working on reading posts but thinking about all of you.

I'm going to post for today & tomorrow. Sat. I'm attending a Lutheran Women's Missionary League spring rally. Registration starts at 8:30 and program ends with a light lunch at noon. Thankfully the location is a church not that far from where we live, so I don't have to leave extra early. Probably a good idea if I shower tonight, saves me time in the morning. I'm sure the doggo & Kitty will expect potty time & breakfast, respectively, as soon as I get up.

@cschmitz110515 enjoy your women's rally. I've been very distant in church since Sierra's mental break a few years ago. I don't blame, but my security is definitely shaken.

Hi everyone!
I'm taking part in the 100 skips every day in May challenge to try raise money for Cancer Research.
This is the first time I've ever done anything like this!
I'd like to share my fundraising page here, if you guys could share further I would appreciate it as my social networking is pretty slim 😂
I don't want any of you to feel obliged to donate but if you are able to it would be much appreciated!
And if any of you have any other ideas of how I can get more donations then that would be fantastic!

@Bex953172 — Good luck with you fundraising! Good cause

Sorry, I've been MIA for a while but I'm hear to ask a question:
I am in another group with Terri and it has a volunteer list where everyone can pick a day to lead. Terri always leads on the 1st of the month and never misses as far as I've known, but she missed on 5/1 and we haven't seen any other activity from her and we are a bit worried.
I am not friends with Terri on MFP, so I cannot send her messages or see when she last logged into MFP. Is anyone else here friends with Terri who can reach out?
@TerriRichardson112 … I hope everything is OK!

Low energy again today - the heat and humidity didn't help - but I managed to get in a short walk. My husband and I had lunch out and then stopped at the garden center to get some pond plants. He worked on the garden while I took a nap. And that was it for the day. As my afib has gotten worse over the last few months, I've been struggling with fatigue and shortness of breath. Exercise is a challenge as I have to keep my heart rate in check. The meds aren't working, so I'm on deck for a TEE and cardioversion this month and an ablation this summer. Hopefully that'll get me back to a normal heart rhythm and energy level. I really miss my hikes and bike rides. But for now it's easy walks, healthier food choices, and working on keeping my calories in check.

@mytime6630 - welcome back. I hope your hubbys surgery is scheduled soon and all will be ok. That must be scary. Well done on your 8 lbs loss. It awesome that you found some good resources to keep you on track .
@angf0679 - glad your retreat went well and you enjoyed things! Sometimes you never know with those types of get togethers.
So glad Terri showed up !
@beachwalker99 - I am so sorry your dealing with the heart issues. My mom went through similar issues for years with Atrial Fib and eventually she had to have a pacemaker and has done well since. Ironically my dad is now dealing with heart issues and its very scary for all of us. I hope the cardioversion works and you can get back to enjoying your activities .
I know I didn't get to everyone's posts but this is an active group so hard to keep up! I hope everyone is doing good out there.
Today our much needed rain arrived after a beautiful day yesterday. The scale is up again today from 167 to 169 but I had a part/BBQ yesterday afternoon and had a few too many treats plus a cocktail.
I love walking in the rain so I might venture out anyways. I need to run some errands as well today
My coaching dilemma continues. I let them know I would no longer be needing their service and they keep texting me and almost trying to guilt me/shame me into signing up. I'll be blocking them. I guess my gut was right about not wanting to move forward with them . They have some predatory marketing tactics that's for sure. Not appreciated.
So its back to my home gym option. I did a good workout yesterday using Jefit app. I have tried multiple apps but not all of them are the easiest to use . This one is free and seems ok. I also use the Caliber app once in a while.
Today I am very muscle sore again today. I feel like I am muscle sore 95% of the time.. lol. You would think that my body would adjust . Its not like I am increasing weights every day. I am limited right now because I need heavier weights for some of my exercises. The money I was going to spend on the expensive coaching is going to slowly filtered into my home gym.
Have a great Sunday everyone

Didn't get much done outdoors yesterday, but I managed to get all caught up on grading. This will be the last full week of classes for the semester. I'll have a ton of final papers coming in, so I'm glad to have gotten all of the preliminary assignment grading done. Today's forecast is for showers on and off, but i'm hoping to get a walk and maybe a bit of container planting done.

@Bex953172 Best wishes on your fund-raiser! Do you know how it works if someone from the USA donates? The cause is close to my heart, as I have lost family and friends to cancer. Plus my dad has battled 2 forms. Since 2013 I have participated in an American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study (300,000 participants across the country), with periodic health surveys and occasional sub-studies. Several years ago, I got invited & participated in a daily steps study, where I had to wear a device for one week.
@pridesabtch Hugs to you, my friend! I think you would've liked the rally I attended. The keynote speaker's topic was Promised Rest. It was very beneficial to me, because who doesn't try to control circumstances and fix problems? Psalm 46 was part of her focus: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Also Isaiah 43:1-3 and Psalm 91.
@beachwalker99 Wishing you successful healthcare! Both my mom (88yo) and her sister (79yo) have A-fib. Mom's is under control with meds and watching what she eats. Aunt has more issues, has had several ablations & is on meds, but she's doing well. She and I walk together when I'm in town to visit my folks. We usually walk about 3 miles, so I know you can get there too.
@mytime6630 Hugs to you and hope things go well for your hubby!
@HappyDonkey75 Sorry for your "coaching" troubles. I myself am an at-home exerciser. Can't be bothered to drive somewhere to work out and clean up, then drive home. Plus I can workout whenever my schedule suits me.
Recap 5/2 F ~ Cloudy & cool, at least not raining.

Recap Sat. ~ LWML spring rally 8:30 - 1:00
- Wise food choices at rally (no idea what to expect) ~ yummy food, not too much, but huge pieces of dessert were plated at lunch, and I ate the whole thing / supper? sloppy joes, pasta salad, canned baked beans / water? / log all food (might skip this) ~ yep, I skipped / net calories? 😡 pretty sure horrible
- OT exercises 🙂 even did 1 series while at rally listening / walk dog 😁 hubby & I did 1 mi with doggo around neighborhood so happy dog & happy me
- Anything accomplished is a bonus 🙂 few minor things = ta-da!
JFT Sunday ~ Temp is cool but sun is shining & mild breeze 😎
- Church 9:00 😁
- Lunch? (forgot to stop at bread shop yesterday) / make hubby's favorite chicken dish for supper / 80 oz. water / limit sweets & snacks / log all food / net calories zero

- Car show at nearby tech school with hubby? We qualify for senior pricing (free) 🤣 but since cost is only $5 each & goes towards students, I'm ok paying. Maybe eat lunch there, not sure what's available.
- Repeat: anything accomplished is a bonus
