Way to go @patriciafoley1. 19 pounds is a lot. You must feel great. Enjoy those extra carbs. Choose them wisely. I'm thinking pasta and bread, not pastries. And that green part of the BMI chart is a great feeling too. Some people poo poo that chart but it feels great to be there. Keep going. You're going to feel great this summer! Amazing. You are an inspiration.

Count me in fellow challengers. Reading all your stories is inspiring and lets me know that I’m not the only one struggling at times. I lost 4.5 lbs in the last challenge. Starting weight 212.0, CW 207.5. I am working to get below 200 by the end of this challenge. Good luck everyone! ❤️

Welcome Jilly! You are not alone. You did great in the last challenge!

Hi @RubyRed427! Thanks for starting this challenge! I would love to hop on board - for reinforcement and to extend beyond my other challenge that ends on the first day of summer. (I hope to lose at least ten pounds by this August.)
NOTE: If you hit the "Save Draft" button as you type every few lines, it should keep your entry up to that point. Once you save the draft, the button turns blue with white letters. Keep hitting "Save Draft" every so often in case you get bumped off (kicked out) for whatever reason. (It should still be there when you go back to the posts.)
Since July 31st is on a Thursday, I will use Thursdays as the weigh-in day for this challenge.
05/01: 159.8 (Below taken from my Renpho scale app):
My weight was up over the weekend (Sunday), but hopefully I can correct it by this Thursday. I will post a snapshot of my scale app's weight record each Thursday throughout the challenge, in order to stay honest and accountable.

May 1-July 31 Goals:

I will make sure to check in at least every Thursday to report weight and see how everyone else is doing.
Best wishes for the week ahead!

hi everyone, I’m a little late to the party but would like to join in regardless. 10 lbs would just about put me back in my happy maintenance range and I’ve been losing and regaining the same 3 or 4 lbs for the whole year so far.
I’m 5’ 7” 56 and menopausal, usually pretty active but can’t seem to quit sabotaging myself at the weekends, also usually due to making bad food choices after a glass of wine (or two…)
Current weight 144.6, goal range 130-135. Let’s go!

Re: "today, when I clicked on BMI in Fitbit's weight section, it said 24.9 with a green dot and the caption of "Ideal". Boy was that NICE to see. I realize I am at the high end of Ideal, but 189 days ago, I was obese. So going from obese (maybe even morbidly obese) to over weight, to ideal BMI — that is a big milestone for me."
That's a big milestone for ANYONE. Congratulations for a job Very Well Done!
@faurotann I'll be looking up the post you recommended!

I found it. Here's the link below for anyone else interested. Now, I'm going back to read it!

I'm reporting back. Wow what a great article listed in the link above. Thank you @faurotann for sharing. In order to see the pics I had to save the whole post to my desktop where the links were then automatically loaded. I hope everyone will take a moment and read.

I, too, am late but technically started on 5/3. Perimenoapause hit like a ton of bricks and I've unfortunately gained packed on 20 lbs in the last few months, putting me at 252 - higher than I ever was with any of my kids!
Here's to a goal 1! UGW is 170, which at 5'9" is what I've liked myself most at, even though BMI says I should be 144.
SW on 5/3 -- 252
GW 7/31 -- 240
UGW -- 170

I’ll join. I believe I am around the and 172-175 but need to weigh myself. I am 5 foot 9 and have some jiggly spots. It is time to lose 10lb or more….

🎪🎪🎪 🎪 05/06-DNW 💠 - (Trend Weight: DNW) Contractor showed up bright and early waking me out of bed. I didn’t know he was coming since he’s missed the past week. I didn’t get to weigh but I still am feeling pretty bloated from the Chinese food the other day. I also brought home 2 quarts of Egg Drop Soup from the restaurant that day which I’ve been using for lunch (4 servings of 1.5 cups each). That is probably still containing too much sodium although the calories and carbs are very low. That’s why I usually bring some home. I may weigh tomorrow and come back and post. It depends on how tight my rings are.

Hi everyone, I’m so excited to join this community and to challenge with all of you! I just turned 50 and need to seriously stay on track for mobility, energy and longevity. I have a small daughter who is 9 and gotta keep up with the young mommies.
I joined a pilates studio and I try to make it 3-4 times a week and my days between I do strength training at home. I’ve been forever 145 lbs and would love be 120. I stopped drinking in December due to vertigo so saving money and losing weight. That’s my story. I’m happy I found a community to work on my goal with! Looking forward to everyone’s update. :)

Hi all,
I'm just starting on MFP journey today and I'm not entirely sure how these groups work, so my apologies if I'm in the wrong place :) I'm at my heaviest weight ever (160lbs) and ideally would like to get down to 140lbs eventually. I'm a hormonally all-over-the-place 42 year old and 5'6. In the increasingly distant past I was highly motivated to exercise, but haven't done much for some time now and keep making excuses. My diet has always been pretty poor, so I'm hoping MFP can help with that.
Goals
3x exercise in the morning each week.
Begin Couch to 5k this coming Saturday (May 10th)

May 7 - 182.

ok I’m in! I’m losing at a turtle’s pace but is better than nothing! Last weigh-in on Sunday 5/4 or CW is 200.3# I haven’t been under 200# in at least 25 years! Although I’m focusing more in fat loss vs weight loss I know I can afford to be a bit lighter 😅
I do weightlifting 5x and go heavy. One rest day and other for more cardio and body weight activities.6 -
Week 1, down 0.4 pounds. Heading in the right direction.
Keep it up, friends. We only get to where we want to be when we keep facing that direction and push forward through (or go around, over, under) the obstacles.

I realized since joining MFP, I haven’t changed my calories or macros, yet I’m 8 years older. I’m 62. I read somewhere that as we age, our needs change. So on Wednesday I found a calculator online and based on my age, height, and activity level, I wasn’t eating enough calories and my protein was too low. I also turned off activity calories. The amount MFP adjusted seemed excessive for what I was doing. I’m happy to report the scale is moving. From Friday to Wednesday my weight jumped to 152.6. This morning I dropped to 149.8. Hopefully the trend will continue. If you’re stuck, maybe a recalculation could help you too.
5/2: 150.6
5/9: 149.8GW: 140-145 ish

SW 8/1/24 165
GW 5/1//25 132 - 1355/1 135.2
5/9 135.2I'm basically lost. I wasn't going to start maintenance until I reached the low end of my goal weight. I've just spent $400 for new summer clothes. I don't want them to hang on me if I get to the low end.
So everyone was congratulating me on reaching goal. I thought, OK, I'll ease into it. In other words I have no plan. I stopped tracking food. I grazed constantly. I kept to my " Friday only", once a week weigh in. Yesterday I was sure I was looking at a gain for the week. So here I am maintaining. (hahahahaha) Only I'm really not. I could go on and on because I'm basically lost.
Good luck, people. Stay focussed (sp?)
I know what I have to do. This is so simple, right? It'll be easy! Right? Sorry, not quite. I need to have a better plan.
