@faurotann Yeah…you must feel like you really have to watch what your eating, etc. But, I would just keep doing what you're doing. If you see the scale going up just cut back a bit.
Personally, I gained weight because I wasn't weighing myself, it was summer, and the weight can creep up without even realizing. I only noticed that I had gained weight when my winter jackets didn't fit anymore. So, for me, it's important to weigh myself regularly, at least three times a week.
I got my weight bench today too. I really like it. I used to have a nice bench, but we didn't have room for it, so I sold it. After I put this one together, I was thinking the same thing…where will I keep it? It does fold up pretty easy. But I was afraid if I folded it up too good, I may not use it. After watching some videos on the product page on Amazon, I found that I could remove just one pin, and It's still standing. But the footprint is much smaller and it will be very easy to use. It's perfect!
My weight was a little down today. My weigh-in day is on Tuesday, so we'll see if I lost anything. I've already lost at least 4 lbs of the 10, and we still have one more month to go 🙂

I didn't weigh myself today. I will be posting my June stats on Tuesday 7/1. But, I finally did have an AF day today. Woo-hoo!
8 -
Woo-hoo. That's great.
5 -
@LittleSurferGirl7 Wonderful! I'm so happy for you!

Thanks guys! I plan on finishing off the month AF and having a dry July. I weighed the lowest this morning since the challenge began. But, I was up every hour or two peeing. I wasn't drinking alcohol, but I was drinking lots of water. I can't wait to see how much progress I've made in June…even more so in July.
Have a great day everyone!
6 -
Yeah. Water. So good for you. So hard too drink it. I can never, ever, ever get enough. In honor of you I swear I'll drink 8 glasses today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There… I said it. I may not be able to safely leave the house though. 😊
You have a great day too LittleSurfer girl.
PS It's going to be hot today. That'll help us chug the water. Stay hydrated everybody.

@faurotann I know so many people don't like water. But, I've been chugging water all my life. When we were little kids (maybe 6 or 7 years old), my best friend and I would be playing outside. Our Moms kept a jug of cold water in the frig at all times. BTW…my Mom didn't like water either. Anyways, my friend and I would go into one of our houses and pour a glass of cold water. It's funny now…because we would hold our glasses up and say, "Vodka!"
I also always brought a glass of water to bed and kept it on my nightstand (I still do!). I started when I was very young and I would call my Mom from bed asking for a glass of water. After a while, she just started putting a glass of water on my nightstand when she put me to bed.
I bring a bottle of water while traveling. But, when at home, I drink it in a glass with ice, "Vodka!" LOL
I hear ya on leaving the house safely. I use the restroom at every stop when we go into town 🙂 Which brings me to say, we are going into town today and we're going to have lunch at Red Robin. Hopefully, that doesn't mess up my weight loss too much!

I, too, will drink at least 8 glasses of water 8 oz each in honor of @LittleSurferGirl7 and her AF day ! I haven't had the full 64 or more in a hot minute! Anyway, I know how important this was and is for you Surfer Girl. It's the first milestones of many! Congrats!
6 -
It's 4:40 pm. Just barely 4 glass 8 oz each. Keep chugging!
5 -
I didn’t see this earlier today. But I will drink water only tomorrow to celebrate with you, Little
Surfer Girl. I was never addicted to alcohol, but drank 2 or 3 3-liter cokes a day for years. I quit. I can only imagine how much harder it is to quit alcohol.
7 -
Thanks everyone! I just hope no one drowns 😱 BTW…today is day 2!
7 -
raising a glass of water to you LittleSurferGirl! congrats on drinking water!

Thanks @walkintofit! Chug, Chug, Chug 😀

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

I am happy to see 1.6 lbs gone in the past 6 days which really helps my overall numbers. My goal numbers were not adding up due to my math mistake so I have fixed that. My goal remains the same 184.0 at the end of the challenge but that does leave a 5 lb loss needed on the table for July. I’m not sure why I had my June goal so low. Anyway, I can do it if I put my mind to it! Or Can I? There are definitely some challenges including the Holiday Weekend filled with food, my Son’s birthday, my Grandson’s birthday and some upcoming travel. Time to buckle down, if nothing else, at least on EVERY SINGLE day in-between! Life is for the living, so I must confess that I do plan on enjoying those days. No excuses on all others! I’m also on a weight loss journey! Onward and Forward Soldiers!

Well I couldn't make my water challenge goal for @LittleSurferGirl7. I was on my 5th glass of the 8 glasses of water yesterday and then……….you know……..we went out for a bite to eat for dinner. 1500 calories later I couldn't stomach another glass. Excuses. I know.
But I'm not giving up. Today is another hot day. I can do it if I pay attention and time myself. I hope @Corina1143 is still in with us. She didn't commit to 8 glasses. She committed to water only for today. But that's still a great goal. Deepwoodslady? You still in?
64 ounces if water today. I know I can do it! GO! @LittleSurferGirl7 .

@faurotann I'm glad you're trying to up your water intake. But I'm not sure if there's a an exact amount that you should drink daily. I guess it depends on how hot it is and how active you are. I've always just had a glass or bottle of water attached to my hip. That's just me!
I think the best way to know that you're hydrated is if your pee is clear to very pale yellow. Of course, certain vitamins (like B's and C) can turn your pee bright yellow (the body gets rid of the water soluble vitamins that aren't needed).
Once I had a test for my eyes to check the blood flow to the back of my eye. They injected a dye in my arm and then took pictures. They told me that the dye would make my pee fluorescent yellow. Boy, they weren't kidding 😱
Have a great day everyone!

I'm on my third 20 0z bottle. I don't pay attention because when I have in the past, I always drink about 150% of what they recommended. I plan to work in the yard tonight, so I'm pretty sure I'll go over 80 oz.
This is a good challenge for me. Just an eye opener. I didn't realize that while I was fixing my coffee or tea, I would grab a cracker or a few nuts. No preparation to water so no snack.
At this stage, every single calorie counts.

Finished yesterday with about 120 oz water. It was harder than I thought it would be. I missed my chamomile tea. I missed my iced coffee with milk. But it reminded me to drink more plain water. It's good for us! And it was just fine most of the day.
6 -
I only got 48 oz of water yesterday. That's 2 days in a row. I'm only just starting for today so it might be the same. @Corina1143 you got almost three times as much as me!!!!!!! That's amazing. Yes, it reminded me how good it is for you. I feel better and it helps moderate my hunger. And it's hot out there. The water cools you down a bit.
5 -
Didn't measure today. Had my chamomile tea. Water the rest of the day.
5 -
I once read you should divide your weight in half and drink that many ounces of water. So 160 lb person should drink 80 oz of water per day. I don't drink nearly that much but I do try to drink as much as I can.

@SunnyDays930 That's interesting. I'm definitely not getting enough. I had a medical incident last month that was exacerbated by being dehydrated. So this is really good for me. Plus I feel better and my weight has stabilized.

Eh, a little self-sabotage with 2 big bowls of buttered popcorn before bed, but it was delicious and I enjoyed every kernel. I love popcorn, and I had a craving so went with it. Weight is up, but I’m owning it. Happy 4th!

S/W 165 8/1/24
GW 162 to 165
C/W 135For as long as I can remember I would make these goals as soon as springtime came. I'd say, if you put your mind to it you could lose 10 lbs by 4th of July. Then, of course, I'd be drinking a beer and eating chips on the 4th and thinking, boy you just wasted the last few months.
So next month I'm coming up on my anniversary of joining this group. Thank you all. You really have no idea how grateful I am. I never dreamed I could do this. Now I'm still not convinced I've lost all this weight and can keep it off. Maybe that's good because it makes me pay attention. I have to remember what it felt like to weigh 165. Or what it felt like to be 181 in June, 2016. That's even harder to imagine.
Onward. 2026 is coming up. Be there!!!

@faurotann Your weight lose is really awesome and encouraging. I would like to be where you are now. But I'm slightly over 200 lbs. I never thought I could get this heavy. You should post your highest weight in your stats on the top of your post. You mentioned 181. I would post that at the very top in bold. You're a real inspiration!
