I would be thrilled to lose another ten pounds. That would put me at 135. It gets harder and takes longer as we go lower.
Lost 18.6 pounds in the last round. Ended the round at 145.6
Total weight loss since I started on MFP 67.2 lbs
It will be harder to lose in this round because I am gradually introducing a few more carbs in my diet (not going hog wild, I have to see how it affects my blood sugar) so that is going to add carb weight. And I asked my PA to lower my BP medicine because I've lost 50 pounds, so she halved it. That means more water weight, since it is primarily a water pill. But I want to get off it, so I'll take the bounce up in weight when it comes and just shoulder through until I lose past it. (It's sweet while it lasted).
End weight of the last round on April 30 145.6
Starting weight this round 145.2 So 4/10 of a pound lost. That's a good start.
Wishing everyone good luck, and determination to make this round a success (ME TOO!) Hoping I don't go crazy adding a few more carbs to the mix!!
4/30 145.6
5/1 145.2
5.4 144.8 met a mini goal when I passed 145. Next mini goal 142.5
today, when I clicked on BMI in Fitbit's weight section, it said 24.9 with a green dot and the caption of "Ideal". Boy was that NICE to see. I realize I am at the high end of Ideal, but 189 days ago, I was obese. So going from obese (maybe even morbidly obese) to over weight, to ideal BMI — that is a big milestone for me.
5/12 finally a drop 144.4 BMI 24.8

@patriciafoley1 a 67 lb weight loss is a huge accomplishment. Way to go!

I would like to join this challenge. @RubyRed427 and @SunnyDays930 you both know that I'm really struggling to get a handle on my excessive alcohol consumption. I think a challenge like this may help with my motivation.
As soon as I have a few days AF, I will start logging my foods and weighing myself again. I've been afraid to weigh myself. I've gained probably 35 to 40 lbs in the past year or so due to drinking and poor food choices.
Is it OK to start the challenge late? It may be closer to June 1st.

Thanks. I hope to lose another 20 pounds and get in the middle of "ideal weight" to give myself a cushion and to improve my blood sugar. I went from diabetic (a1c 10.4) to prediabetic (a1c 6.3). So my goal is to get it back to normal. No diabetes meds, just reversed it with diet and exercise. So it can be done.

@LittleSurferGirl7 I would jump in now if I were you. That way you can see all the progress you achieve in the rest of the month. Show it off!

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).

05/06-DNW 💠 - (Trend Weight: DNW) Contractor showed up bright and early waking me out of bed. I didn’t know he was coming since he’s missed the past week. I didn’t get to weigh but I still am feeling pretty bloated from the Chinese food the other day. I also brought home 2 quarts of Egg Drop Soup from the restaurant that day which I’ve been using for lunch (4 servings of 1.5 cups each). That is probably still containing too much sodium although the calories and carbs are very low. That’s why I usually bring some home. I may weigh tomorrow and come back and post. It depends on how tight my rings are.
🌺🌺🌺🌺05/13-194.2 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 194.9) Down 2 lbs since last weigh-in. Not bad considering I had my birthday and Mother’s Day in those dates. Yep, I’m 65 now and I now have Medicare Medical Insurance. Expensive!!!! A great day yesterday except for that poor snack choice last night that we won’t talk about. Under calories but over on carbs. Lots of movement outside working on the storm cleanup. Burning lots of brush, limbs and leaves. Most of the raking just in the bonfire area but tried to maximize it. Hair appointment today for a cut for myself and my son. Probably lunch afterwards as he expects it. With the autism he is still pretty childlike in many instances. He gets to pick the restaurant. I’ll try to choose smart but he’ll probably want the pizza parlor. Ugh….

@deepwoodslady I would start right away. But, I'm currently a daily whiskey drinker. And, when I quit (I have in the past), I lose 1 to 1.5 lbs a day for the first several days up to a week. So I thought it would be better to stabilize before I start. Although, If I get the courage up to step on the scale, I may post sooner. I feel really heavy.
I was very comfortable when I was between 160 and 170 lbs. At that weight, I am still considered overweight. But, I feel good and people actually compliment me. I quit drinking for four months at one time and I ran into someone that I hadn't seen in a while. She was shocked and said, "Wow…you've lost weight!". Well, I started drinking again and gained it all back. Like I said, I can't step on the scale right now.
January 1st of this year I weighed 205 lbs. Feb 1st I weighed 199. March 1st I started going back up 201. I can't tell you what I weigh now, but I don't think it's good.

@Littlesurfergirl
Stopping the alcohol is hard enough. Stress on your mind and even stress on your body. Do what is best for you.
Do short walks, yoga breathing, or stretching help you?
Wishing you the best!

Welcome to our challenge! Join us at any time. It doesn't have to be on June 1st. Just start posting when you feel like it. Some people post once a week, some post less or more. Do what works for you.
@patriciafoley1 You are doing amazing! What are some tips for you? Share any tips for us◡̈

@Corina1143 Thanks for the helpful hints. But, right now, I haven't even walked to the mailbox in more than a week. I got on my knees the other day to turn the water off under the kitchen sink. I needed to replace a cartridge under the hot water handle. I got such bad cramps in my hamstrings, I just rolled over in pain. I managed to get up and my husband turned off the water. I was successful replacing the cartridge though. So physical activity isn't much of an option right now.
When a person drinks heavily, they can't absorb or retain certain vitamins and minerals. Plus, people tend to not eat nutritious foods while they are drinking. I do take some supplements. But the only way to correct the problem is to quit drinking and start eating better. Sometimes, it takes a while to build these vitamins and minerals back up in our bodies. I always thought water soluble vitamins aren't stored in our bodies. But, actually, some of the B vitamins are stored in our livers. And, of course, minerals are stored in our bones and other tissues.
I hope to be back on course real soon. My diet is very good when I'm not drinking. And, I have some wonderful floor exercises that I like. But, the last time I tried to do them, the same thing happened. I tried to do some bridges and I got major cramps in my hamstrings. I just need to stop drinking, eat better, and work into exercise slowly. For now, I should probably do exercises standing or seated.
@RubyRed427 I will start posting real soon. But this drinking thing is really taking a toll on me. I'm not sure how I got into this mess! But, I will get out! Soon!

Tips are 1200 calories a day, low carb (around 50 net carbs a day), started at 10K steps a day, and worked up to 15-20K steps a day.
5 -
@patriciafoley1 The tips you gave are very similar to mine. That's when I'm on track. I also have my calories set at 1200. Probably about the same amount of net carbs. I used to be afraid of carbs. When I'm eating normally, I eat blueberries every day. When I first started logging all I saw were carbs. But, they are loaded with fiber and all sorts of good things. I hope to start eating normal again soon.
I may weigh myself and post soon. But it's kind of embarrassing. I was always very fit and healthy. I've gained so much weight recently. It sure can sneak up on you!
That's probably another good tip. I didn't always drink daily. There's times where I don't drink for months. But I've noticed if I weigh myself regularly, it keeps me on track because if I notice that I've gained a little I can make adjustments to my diet or add in a little more activity. I used to weigh myself daily. I'm old school…I write my weight on my At-A-Glance wall calendar. No apps needed 🙂

I will be joining. I will post my results all at once at the end of each month.
Best of luck, everyone!
7 -
@deepwoodslady Thanks! I'll probably wait until I start feeling better to start posting. Although, I did weigh myself and I was at an all-time high 208 lbs.
I been thinking how could have I gained so much weight? I really don't eat that much! In the past, I usually didn't log the whiskey. Many years ago, I read that alcohol is metabolized differently and didn't really count. Well, I don't know if I believe that anymore. A while back, I looked up Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey. Anyways, a pint (375 ml) is 857 calories and a fifth (750 ml) is 1714 calories. I been drinking closer to a fifth on most days. 1714 calories, in addition to food calories, I've been probably taking in close to 3000 calories a day. And, my goal is 1200 calories a day. I'm still working on it. But I'm getting real close to quitting.
6 -
@LittleSurferGirl7 I also have a big calendar on my desk. Every morning I record my weight, blood sugar, A1C if I test it and any blood sugar results through the day. It keeps me on track

Choose a start date. Any date is fine. Then post your start weight (SW) and goal weight (GW). The goal weight is what you want to weigh at the end of this challenge, July 31st. You can also post your ultimate goal weight (UGW). Then post your weight each week. Most people post every 7 days. You can choose daily or bi-weekly or monthly if that's better for you.
You can include a little bit about yourself but it's not necessary. Or you can wait until you feel comfortable. It doesn't matter. But if you post some personal info then people get to know you and you feel more accountable.
Some people include a little bit about the week…….what worked, what challenges you face, what successes (and failures) you had. You can just post your weight if that's all you want. You are only accountable to yourself, nobody else. It's motivating to see your own progress and other people's progress too.
@RubyRed427 is the group leader. She will welcome you when she sees your post. The group is very friendly, no judgment or comments. This is my fourth challenge. Everyone wants you to succeed however you choose to do it. It's basically about the support you give to others and the support you receive in return.
Good luck. I guarantee you'll like it.

Hi everyone, I'm gearing up for a fresh reset on my mother's birthday, May 21st (Wednesday), at which time I will post stats and measurements for my new "Day 1" and my first weigh-in here. The program I'm joining at the end of this month will have their group meetings (via conference call) on Wednesdays; so I'm switching my weigh-in day to Wednesday not will also post a weigh-in on the last day of this challenge, Thursday, July 31st.
I've been steadily gaining and slacking off, so I need to turn this around right now! I will report honestly and regularly.
Have a nice weekend!
💗 Carole

Just post when it feels right. Many people post once a week. I think the more you read and post, it seems more motivating. Do what's right for you. We're happy you're here.
