5/21- DNW5/22- DNW - TOM has arrived so I'm dealing with bloat from eating out, dehydration-related water retention, AND hormonal bloat. Ick. I'm feeling quite awful for that and have decided to forego the scale for a bit longer. This is okay and expected, I just don't want to make myself feel worse, even knowing there's multiple reasons for it and I'll bounce back relatively quickly now that I'm back on track. I'm using MFP to log for this week so I don't trigger my MacroFactor to try to adjust my macros based on this significant scale increase/bloating since there's no good way to input travel to account for that extra bloating. Otherwise, doing well trying to get back on all my habits/routines and settling in to this deficit again.5/23 - xxx.x -

Just checking in quickly. I have been thinking of this group and miss you all. I am just past 5 weeks since my double jaw surgery. I ended up wired shut 3 days after surgery since my bands kept snapping and weren't keeping my jaw in place. I needed another screw and plate added on my left side a week after my original procedure. I was just unwired Tuesday and given two light bands I can take off to eat, and cleared for no chew! I can only open one finger's width. My first non-blenderized, non-syringed meal was mashed potatoes and turkey gravy. It took me an hour and twenty minutes to eat and I was quite sore afterwards. My chin and most of my lower lip is still numb, I'm still swollen, but there's progress every day. Not only is my jaw no longer recessed, but my airway is so much more open even with swollen sinuses. I can breathe better through my nose than I've ever been able to. I'm not quite ready to resume tracking again, but getting there and looking forward to resuming the challenges soon.

Amazing photos! You go girl! That's the sort of thing I do with my 4 little grandchildren, all between the ages of almost 4 & 7. It's so good to be able to share those experiences with them, lets keep doing them.

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 297

5/21 – 129.4 What’s the expression “a day late and a dollar short”, well the 129ish showed up a day late. But better than never. Being back home and having more obligations is really making exercise a struggle. While I am not accomplishing what I planned or hoped, I am not allowing myself to just plain give up/give in and hoping to fine my rhythm. Calories can be good as long as I don’t let my head get in the way. Hopes for this round. Stay in the 129s or maybe even peek at 128. Tomorrow, I start living in TWO states MA and ME until September, but I am already pre-planning meals in an effort to keep this all going.
Oh and BTW, I am NOT having fun with this MOG dress shopping. Have bought 18 dresses so far, and none are the “one”. BUT I am learning/remembering what looks good on me. This photos of dresses on 5’10” size 4 models are really deceiving. I need to remember that too. Yesterday, I tried on a dress with a bid bow on the shoulder that came across like a pagant sash. OMG, I looked like a poorly wrapped x-mas present.
5/22 – 128.6 Is this my reward for behaving well yesterday?? I’m starting to get closer to the weights I hung out at for over a year (plus or minus 125). I just looked back at my old history number. It was right around now, last year, that I last saw a number in this range and started my long slow gain. So if I don’t return to that behavior this year (from now to 2026), that is better than a year ago. Oh, and I did get my walk in yesterday. Today, heading to Maine by 10:30. Got groceries to do, house to clean, packing and remembering what the heck I need up there. There is a small gym on the ground floor, so I might see if I can get that to entice me. :)

This may seem like great success, but actually it is great sickness. I guess I will go to the Dr. today at DW insistence. I should have gone yesterday but I can be a bit stubborn.5/22: 224 (1606 CI)
Many of my calories were from tablespoons full of honey. So carbs were crazy too. Dr. told me honey is one of the best cough suppressants there is. So I was all over that like a bear. She (Dr.) deemed it a virus, so nothing can be done for it med-wise. I feel a lot better this morning already. “I can do hard things!”I need to work on keeping the calorie count more like the past two days.

Still not 100% but steady improvement with my illness. I didn’t let it stop me yesterday.Today we have our grand kiddos almost all day. DS works today and DDL has a big work meeting off site. (she works at an early childhood center and gets to take DGD with her on normal days.) So we will be kept busy with an 8 yr old boy and an 18 mo old girl. My plans for the boy include a little bike riding and a little fishing.
And for a quiet time I want to introduce him to “Zentangle.” I don’t know how that will go over, because screens are such a big part of his life. Zentangle is a method for organically creating patterns with pen on paper where the important part is the process, not the product. It has a way of calming your mind, because there is no wrong answer. It unlocks unused parts of your brain. Some may call it doodling, but it is a bit more purposeful. I do a form of it while note-taking sometimes. I think I just put some of you to sleep. 😊

5/23 - 188.5lbs - ok I take that back! I had a really hard time not binging on things that not only were unhealthy, but also that my body just couldn’t handle due to sensitivities- I ended up swelling up so much and couldn’t stop the cycle. Seeing any kind of progress is definitely helpful to keep it going. This time last year I was 169lbs!

I've made it to another round which for me is a great accomplishment. 🤞 Hoping that I complete this round on time each day.
Right now I'm a total scatter brain for a variety of reasons. While I need to do so much more I'm keeping my goals simple:
Post on time daily
Measure body fat weekly
Eat "protein first" according to the rules of my "Diet for Life"
Accept stress relief wherever I find it.
Under promise and over perform? Who knows. Stay POSITIVE. I may surprise myself.

5/21- 159.0 Still behaving badly. Poor sleep leads to all night grazing or dare I admit, binge eating. I despise that word however it's used. The bottom line is a loss of control.
Today needs to be busy. The challenge is will I get things done or will I have regrets later. Good 😇 Vibrations. Let's DO This!

Tanita scale : 18.5% fat / 59.3% water / 22.2% lean - How I wish body composition per my scale was accurate. I know better than to enjoy the feel good moment. Measurements work best for me.
Water retention for this long is peculiar. My norm is around forty and up to forty-five on a bad day. I'm watching my blood pressure and eating foods that are naturally diuretic. If I don't drain over the weekend I may have to give in and see a doctor. Best to confirm there's nothing unusual going on.
All day yesterday I was insanely hungry. Fortunately I had nothing easy to nibble and was too lazy to fix anything.
I've pondered how someone who lives between more fat and less fat, never sticking at slim, manages to quell voracious physical hunger with a few ounces of hot tap water. Does lazy really beat hungry? 😉 I need to be more lazy.

5/23 231.2 ~ Good mental day but not a good "health" day. Didn't close my rings, or consume, my water, had wine AND was over on calories…..ready for today, it will be better. My goal is to get through this holiday weekend with minimal damage and then FOCUS on the prize!

@_JeffreyD_ I used to do something similar to Zentangle when I was in high school (1966-68) and see that Zentangle was “invented” in 2004! I called it doodling. My mom loved my little abstracts and interpreted one in embroidery which she turned into a tote bag.

5/22 133.0 Fried chicken at community bingo last night. Worst chicken EVER! Tough and rubbery, least amount of meat and too much breading. **DH resigned from the HOA board this morning.**
5/23 135.0 Went to Chili’s with friends. Small salad, cheeseburger, removed half of bun - we were quite cramped because big friend ordered chips and with plates, water glasses and soft drink glasses there was little room to maneuver. Brought home my fries - DH will heat and eat them later probably with his leftover fajitas.

I have lived the eat anything like it or not and even mastered low cal/ no cal binge eating. Over time I've learned what I will and will not consume when the urge strikes. My biggest challenge is not heading out to nearby 24 hour edibles. At times I can create a trigger from seemingly nothing. You're not talking millions you'd be a billionaire for sure. It would sell itself and I'll be there elbowing my way to first in line to purchase.

5/21- DNW5/22- DNW5/23- DNW - I'm still feeling excessively bloated so I didn't officially weigh in. I did step on the scale for a quick glance, not allowing it to fully settle and record - I've now dropped, barely, back into the 160s. Before I left I was 166.4 so the horrible bloated feeling would make sense with my rough weight estimate. Hopefully it'll drop off in the coming days. I've got today's meals planned out and logged all within my pre-vacation macros. I was shy of water by 8oz but it was too late in the evening to try to make that up. 05/22 – 193.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 195.2) I think I have what @_JeffreyD_ has,. I’ve been so sick for several days now. It didn’t slow me down the first couple of days but it’s taking it’s toll today. It’s a combined head and chest cold. Lots of snot & phlegm. Of course, it has not affected my appetite and I could eat a whole roasted pig if I wanted, but I’m definitely running out of tissue. I wonder how long it will take to get back to normal. DGS and daughter arrive today for 2-4 days as usual. Actually, up to 5 days since Monday is a Holiday. I don’t know their schedule yet. We will be celebrating Memorial Weekend while they are here. I hope she doesn’t overdo it on the food like she typically does. I’d like to keep the festivities involving foods that are out of plan to just one day. We may do the movies this weekend for Lilo & Stitch. I guess that depends how I feel. If I go, I’ll wear a mask to avoid spreading my head cold. That would also mean a restaurant. I don’t want to lose my progress so I must be very careful and thoughtful of every morsel I put in my mouth.
🌺🌺🌺🌺 05/23-193.6 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 195.0) What a horrible night! My poor DGS was sick from both ends and I spent a great deal of time upstairs cleaning a lot of “accidents” up. He has been somewhat sick since last weekend which is probably where I caught it. I think the throwing up part was just due to such extreme coughing causing his gag reflex. He does do that at times. His appetite is certainly not suffering! Anyway, literally 1 hour of sleep for me then had to get up for my Contractor that’s coming today to tie up some loose ends. Who knew he would text later and say he’ll be a couple of hours late? Ugh! Very little movement on the scale when the day went according to plan. Disappointed but feel that it’s because of no sleep. Maybe tomorrow will show a bit of a bigger drop. I’d love to see another drop before the Holiday festivities inflates my numbers.

I'm ready! My goals are to log daily, exercise at least 30 minutes per day, log food daily. I'm not going to beat myself up. I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and I'd rather gain a few pounds than go back to that awful habit.

Less hungry today than yesterday for sure, higher on the carbs because we had such a veggie heavy dinner (spaghetti squash ramen) Drinking unsweetened iced tea (Tazo Passion is my favorite) in the evenings to stave off the munchies. We can do this!

Oh boy - fail to plan, plan to fail! Had such a crazy day and couldn’t eat much until the evening which is a huge binge trigger for me! Trying to log everything and STOP when I hit my calories, but it is so so hard when I don’t “feel” like I’ve had enough to eat, even when my log shows I definitely did! I can see why my weight has been plus or minus the same 5 lbs for 2 months. Hoping to break that cycle!!
