    Good morning happy Wednesday

Thank you manifestingToday for the welcoming. Stress and anxiety are big problems for me to begin binge eating. Trying DBT audio book to find help. DBT is a psychological approach to deal with challenges. Also Hoping I can figure out this site because I am having trouble finding the post. Not sure I understand how to mark and how that helps. I will play with the site.
Have a great day everyone make good choices, Lee

@ManifestingToday Excellent advice! If it is one thing I learned on my weight loss journey, it is persistence not perfection is the key to success. Just keep showing up! Forgive yourself - life is filled with ups and downs, enjoy the ride but don't let the hills prevail!

Did a 30 minute strength training session today. I’ve been doing this twice a week for 2 weeks now. Really want to make this a habit. I upped my weights today too. No change on the scale but feeling positive.

NewyorkerLee The MFP site takes a bit to get used to at first. Many people use a separate document or note app to format their daily posts, and then copy/paste that update into the Comment box each day.

You can also bookmark this thread to find it easier. When you return to the thread, it should bring you to where you last left off. To bookmark, click the little "flag" to the right of the thread title at the top of the page (🌺 Just Give Me One Month - June 2025🌻). When bookmarked, that flag will turn a solid blue color. When you come back to the MFP Community page, you can go to the Quick Links and click on "My Bookmarks", and find this thread that way. We start a new thread each month. Hopefully the image below shows you how to find the bookmark "flag" and the Quick LInks section I mentioned.

Female:  wrong side of 65 and wrong side of average height

    Start weight 1 June 25:  56.8kg
    Goal weight: 53kg

     June goals:
    Weight – 55.5kg
    No late night snacking

    1 June – 56.8kg
    2 June – 56.8kg
3 June – 56.4kg – has to be water weight gone; or my scales need a new battery
    4 June – 56.2kg – definitely water weight.
    5 June – 55.9kg – water weight loss continues.

Avoiding late night snacking is not easy.

I made overnight oats.  It was not a success.  The yoghurt seemed quite thick so I added water. Far far  too much water.  So this morning I had overnight oats smoothie with a scoop of protein powder.  Actually it wasn’t too bad although two hours later I’m clock-watching lunch-time.

The water weight loss continues.  Interestingly, I looked back to when I last logged into MFP briefly for a few days in early January after my weight had crept up over Christmas.  Over 10 days my weight dropped by 1.8kg after which it reached a plateau and I stopped tracking, so I think I’m just following the same water-loss pattern now.

I've adjusted my June goal but will be keeping an eye on the numbers I achieve at my weights classes.

@iLive2Walk - hello, welcome. Your absolutely correct.. persistence and discipline are key in this effort to be healthy. I know I will forever have to watch what I put in my mouth because ofcourse like most of us we would much rather eat the stuff that isn't so good for us. I have had LOTS of ups and downs myself but I just keep focusing on where I want to get to and keep putting one foot in front of the other. There are good weeks and there are not so good weeks. Its just part of the process.

Its almost Friday everyone! Weekend plans are looking busy. We have company coming in who will be staying for 10 days. Its my hubby's great niece who is coming, Her grandpa is flying her out , staying for a few days and then he will head home, but she will stay to hang with us. She's a horse crazy 14 year old so her birthday wish was to come stay and play with horses , ride , and do all the horse farm things. I will be happy to have some help around here. She visited for a weekend last summer and had a blast but decided a weekend wasn't long enough.

Hoping you all can keep up your momentum to achieve your goals..

HappyDonkey75 Thanks for the welcome back. And I'm excited that you'll have some extra help — Hopefully that will offset some of the extra stress you're handling with your parents. <3 I am amazed at all you're doing right now.

@iLive2Walk I love your advice. One has to take it all in stride and keep going.

SofaKween My husband didn't have much luck with getting the overnight oats recipe dialed in either. He eventually just went back to making oatmeal in the morning. I hope you find something that is quick and filling and doesn't require extra everything. :)

    Good morning ManifestingToday and all.
Yesterday started well for me but then I took a detour deciding to eat 2 Yasso Sea salt caramel yogurt bars (instead of just 1) then instead of a healthy dinner I had a lot of pretzels. Started reading about DBT to help emotional eating and I am practicing mindfulness breathing.
    How are you all doing?

    Be well, Lee

Outside of lack of exercise this week (work schedule and my own schedule not meshing), I've been on point with calories. Hopefully it's 210.5 or below tomorrow. I'm trying really hard to continue the downward trend. Saturday will have a family event that will include saltier food, so I'm expecting a temp uptick for the weekend.

NewyorkerLee I hope the DBT material gives you some insights that you can apply/test for yourself. Hope you're having a good start to your day.

    Happy Friday, everyone!

Weights yesterday was tough as usual but manageable.  Just.  As a bonus the rain held off.  Sunday weights is much more relaxed so when I can get there it’s the only session that I usually look forward to.

Made my overnight oats into a smoothie again this morning. Added a small pear and it was really tasty.

We celebrated a family event yesterday, but I did get on the treadmill at 9pm to try to counteract the bad food. Today is meal prep and workout, and gearing up for the week. Every day is not going to be a success, and my weekends tend to be my two-steps-back, but if the overall trend is downward, that's all I care about.

kellyswimmer Sending hugs. I can hear your emotion. If you're open to suggestion, here is mine: Pick one thing and stick to it and see what happens. Don't try to do the calories counting, the workout, 10,000 steps, 3L of water, 8 hrs sleep, the meal planning all at once — just pick one. That's your starting point. Maybe it's just 200 calories less per day. Maybe it's only 15 minutes of exercise per day.

I had read a story online of a person that just decided to walk every day — no change to food, just walking. When he started seeing results from just walking after a few months, then he moved to slightly changing his diet. As the months went on, he slowly started to get more active, bigger changes to food, etc. You get the idea. So don't make all the changes. Just agree X days a week you'll X, but stick to that. That's the ONE thing. And see how that works for a bit, then add from there. 💛

Kupla71 Congrats! :) Glad things are moving forward again!

    Happy Sunday, everyone.

Well I guess I had a good time on vacation, weigh in this morning was 178.5. I've got some work to do! Strength training at lunch and lighter meals for the foreseeable future.

I am not keeping up well .. Spent the weekend playing tour guide (which was not really part of the plan but sort of felt obligated since my hubby's BIL has never been to this area. So alot of driving around to see the sights. He is heading home today. Hubby's niece will remain with us for two weeks. She's a great kid and I enjoy having her here. The hubby is done with teaching for the year and so he will be home which is a relief . We also have a horse show coming up this weekend. I finally got on and practiced yesterday after not having been on a horse in over a week. I am glad I have a solid horse and years of competition experience because I am afraid I will be winging it a bit. I know my dressage test ,and the rest will have to be what it is . Definitely too much going on but my hubby seems to thrive in chaos. NOT ME! yesterday afternoon, we made dinner and I wanted to go hide and be left to myself but then my parents wanted to come and meet our guests so we had pie and ice cream. Then kitchen clean up , and finally I did disappear to bed by 8:45 and spent some time reading, catching up on emails.

I am so tired and so not in work mode right now! And today I did not weigh because I didn't have time and then had to eat and get on meetings. Quick break , thought I would pop in a get things logged.

I didn’t weigh this morning. I got up super early and really thirsty. I drank a large glass of ice water. Tried to go back to sleep. No luck. Got up and had breakfast.

Today I really need to do a strength training workout. I didn’t go to the gym yesterday. If I want to do this twice a week strength training I have to go today!

@HappyDonkey75 You sound really busy! I hope things become more manageable soon and you can get some rest.

@ManifestingToday Thanks! I hope the trend continues!
