Lisa- I feel that was what wrecked my first marriage- He didn't get the help for mental issues that he hid from me. Instead of being honest and seeking help, he just left. Eventually with the urging of his second wife, he did get help and on some meds and is better now. He apologizes all the time for everything and totally regrets the choices he made, and how they have effected me since then.
Went for my yearly full body scan - was good, no signs of any skin cancer anywhere. Come back in a year.
Got my primary doctor to order bone density test- She said they don't usually do the first one until 65 but because of family history, she was able to get one ordered.
Got my mammogram coming up in a month-they are back logged so no appt. available until the end of next month.Walked my last planned walk around the wetlands. Weather was absolutely perfect. Nice breeze but just warm enough. Not a lot of birds out but I did see both families of swans which was great.
Ezie is out of school for the summer. I will have her full days Thursdays and Fridays but won't have to drive over and pick her up. I want to take her out to the wetlands but not sure if she can make the full walk. I think we will do the shorter one over to see the swans for our first one to see how she does. As long as it doesn't get too warm.Garden is almost completely planted- do need to reseed a few things- basil didn't come up at all(in the green house or in the raised bed), need a bit more okra and cucumbers that I started in the greenhouse haven't really grown since I put them in the garden so I will reseed them too.
Have a lot of tiny left over tomato plants- need to give them to someone. I counted 23 plants in my garden already. I can plant a few more over at son's place.Have a wonderful weekend.
Need to get a few chores done. Will catch up on the last two pages here a bit later.

Pip- you are welcome. I have a former staff member who I watched struggle to get her diagnosis (they were writing everything of to her begin menopausal and female. She is a good example of perseverance and after getting the diagnosis she has researched thoroughly and does the things that can help. She's a great example of self advocacy.
Barbie - cute little garden patch!
Lanette- I would like to avoid all of the pressure of selling.Part of why I am waiting to be basically moved prior to listing is so I can move the cats and clean thoroughly. I do't know how they have fur with all they shed on a daily basis. The last X-ray of my back noted the scoliosis and the old compression fracture. In some of my recent X-rays after the lung surgery they mentioned "degenerative changes"but no specific mention of arthritis. Since I have it in feet, fingers and hips - I'm pretty sure that is part of it. I'm with you, I prefer to stay off as many medicines as I can!
Not as industrious as I had hoped to be but getting short spurts done. I think the broken sleep caught up with me. Back is not too hateful-going to keep moving slowly and get some things cleaned up.
Take care all,

They alternate growing this on all the fields. Some years they grow grass seed. My sister has 200+ acres but her husbands family manages it. She manages the land the home sits on. Its really pretty and there are lots of bee boxes around her property to keep the fields (and her plants and flowers) happy.😁

Lisa is the nearest physio therapist in Fayetteville?
Lynn love that Lulu!
Lanette, yep still taking the COMB supplements. Was thinking about stopping Classic Fit dlasses, but guess I have to keep on keepin’ on if I don’t want to go back onto Alendronate.
Rebecca love the meadowfoam pics. What does her husband’s family do with all of it? Keep those Tucker pics coming, what a ham!
Laundry and dog group and that’s all for which I had energy.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

when I finally got hair(was bald until I was about 6months old) my hair has always been curly. As a teen, to manage the curls, mom made me set it on those big hard plastic rollers and sleep in them when ever I washed my hair. Thankfully it was just on Sunday nights. The big rollers made my hair just have a slight wave. Not long after moving out was the last time I used those curlers and that was when I wanted my hair to look nice for date night with now former hubby. Back then, it was very hard to find products that left my hair curly but not crunchy. My hair has always been on the longer side. Now, it is past my waist but doesn't seem to grow and hasn't for years.(lost half of it from covid). It is very curly, with ringlet type curls. Thankfully now there are so many products to pick from that leave my curls the way I want and not crunchy.

Barbara - No, but it's the nearest VA PT. Can't go to a local physio unless the VA hospital ones in Fayetteville are unavailable or have a waiting list that's longer than 90 days. Unless I want to go to a Medicare one. Hmmm.

Hello to All. It’s been a while. I scanned May and June up to now, but there is so much going on with you all.
So shocked to hear of Kim. I’m thinking positive thoughts for her.Pip, sorry about Yogi. 🙁
Tracey, congrats on the graduation. Sorry to hear about Kaitlyn.
Machka, congrats on the weight loss.
So many others are having challenges and successes. I can’t remember all of it, but I’m thinking about you all.As for me, I’ve been busy trying to to encourage the mister and assist as I can with his healing process. His last bit of news was not great. He finally got to see an actual surgeon here (after 4 months) who has suggested he redo the surgery. It would mean re-breaking the bones and starting recovery over. There are risks of future pain if he doesn’t do it, but similar or more risks if he does. So, he’s getting second opinions. Separately, one of the screws in his ankle area is unscrewing, pressing against his tendon, and causing him great pain and he will have to get that removed.
it’s been challenging to keep his spirits up, for both of us. The good news is that he is walking 2 miles or more per day at a good clip.We are together far too much. We have nothing to talk about. He watches a lot of TV, which annoys me, but he has no hobbies that don’t require a lot of movement. So, he’s bored.
I have started doing a hike with a group every week. It’s good exercise for me and good for both of us to have time apart.
As a consequence of that and walking 3 miles or more every day, I have lost enough weight to wear some of my former clothes. I hope to lose just under 2 pounds by July 1 which is just before I go on my trip to Ireland with my niece.
All of your talk about clearing closets has inspired me. I hope to start that this week. I’d love to start over with my wardrobe.I am thinking of you all and hoping to check in more often.

worked in the back yard with my mini chainsaw- LOVE that thing- Cut back Juniper,Ivy, Yucca and Plum tree branches- filled up two large yardwaste containers- one is just Yucca- that thing kept poking me every time I went up the steps to the upper garden. Chain saw worked great on one of the smaller ones.
Also got all the dished done and gave the old cat a bath, got some of the laundry done- the load of her pee pads washed and put out to dry in the back yard. Another load of laundry going now with another to do this evening. Tomorrow will be at least a couple more- stripping the bed completely including the mattress pad, washing everything and moving the memory foam pad up where it belongs(it has slid down and very annoying to me).
Dh will be gone with a friend all day so I have a list of chores I want to get done without him here.
A bit annoyed with him today. He has taken over our son's room since he moved out and all he does since then is lay in bed and watch movies on the new projector screen he bought to go with the new mini projector he bought at the garage sale. It would have not been a big deal BUT he already has both of those in the bedroom and hasn't used them in a few years. The screen in the bedroom is huge and motorized- He used if for about 6 months at the most.
He just now came out of the room and it is 8PM. I am sure he is wondering what we are having for dinner- I will warm up left overs for myself and he can do the same. He gets irritated when he has to do for himself- oh well.Going to have my herbal tea and read the rest of the posts- as I am two pages behind.

Machka - you’re doing so well with your goals.
I enjoyed L.M. Montgomery’s, “The Story Girl” more than the Anne of Green Gables series. My grandmother read it to me over a few weeks when I was staying with her while my Mom was away with my brother who was having a series of surgeries. Maybe that’s what made it more special to me.Allie - I hope that your brother’s court date goes well.
Lisa and Barbara - I’m without words too. It’s a delicate balance of giving them space and letting them lead the way and making sure they know I’m here for them. They both have therapists and I’m so thankful for that.
Lisa - we need a few rainy days here desperately. It would be nice if it happened on a weekend.
I’m so thankful you can stay on the Skyrizi. That must be a huge relief.Heather - it sounds like a wonderful visit with your SIL. I hope Edie made it to crossover in the visit.
Rita - I love your hair.
Lanette - I love wildflowers, unfortunately the seed I bought for my bed was mostly chickweed and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I tried putting landscaping cloth and new dirt ver it this year and it’s still poking through.
Tina - I hope your DH finds an acceptable solution soon.
Debbie - you’ve been busy.
I had a busy day today. I went to the city to pick my son in law up so we could go deal with a flat tire Lauryn had last night. We went to one place and the spare we were hoping to use couldn’t be put on the rim, we went to another place and bought a new tire.
I then drove West of the city to get Michaela picked up from a sleepover, came back home, picked Jonah up and drove them home again. I drove for close to 5 hours today.Lauryn told me disturbing news about one of her friends, the poor woman is in her mid 30’s and has such a debilitating injury that the surgeons won’t attempt to fix her, but have told her she would qualify for Maid. She has a 14 year old and 1 year old. :( the 14 year old is severely autistic and has several behaviours that she is not completing the paperwork because she’s worried about her daughter. Her mother told her that her daughter could go to foster care and they would just visit her. I couldn’t turn my child or grandchild away in that manner. Devastating decisions to be made.
On a brighter note, Rodger and I watched the Live airing of the Broadway play, Good Night and Good Luck with George Clooney tonight. It was really good.We used our date night package Kaitlyn and Brodey gave us for Christmas. She gave us cheese, crackers, cokes, and the personal charcuterie boards. It was a nice gift.
Tomorrow night my nephew arrives.

Tracey - I'm amazed you could stay awake for the date night! Sounds like a great evening.
Tina- So sorry to hear about your mister's troubles. It sounds quite horrible. No fun for you either.💟
I had arranged with my son for him to take a load of stuff to the dump today. He's still up for that, but has also committed to helping a friend in the morning, so he needs to drop the girls off with us for a couple (read few) hours with us. I'm a bit irritated, because I wasn't expecting it, and need my recovery time from Sue's visit and Edie yesterday. Of course, we will do it, but I feel they will need some kind of midday snack if they are to go to the dump with their dad. It will have to be a GF cheese sandwich. I have a duck leg saved for us, to shred and put in ciabatta with salad, and was looking forward to relaxing with it.
I woke up at 4.30 this morning, so will definitely need an afternoon nap. I did manage to do a bit of book and medicines sorting at 5.30, so I know what items I want to keep. Some of the books only have meaning for me, but they have long ago memories attached to them. I think I will box them up and put them in the loft. Maybe in another few years I can let them go. Swedish Death Cleaning. For the moment I value their stories. Maybe I should write about the box of books I can't let go. 😉
Thinking of you all, with all your triumphs and struggles. You are all in my heart.

Debbie ~ How old is Ezzie? I hope she will learn a lot about all the birds and wild life in the wetlands.
Allie ~ Sorry about your loss of sleep and hope your brother's court date benefits him.
Tracey ~ Your date night feast and movie sounds great!
Heather ~ I know you love your grands dearly but can understand that you need a break occasionally. At my age (almost 77) I would find it very difficult. Glad I was able to keep mine when they were very little while their mom worked. My younger sister is keeping her autistic granddaughter this summer as her daughter has no other help. It's driving her bats.
I have started back on my anti-depressant and the crying has stopped for the most part. I had part of a bottle to take and am now having to try and get a dr's appointment to get more as the prescription expired last Fall.

All went well with the girls. Bea made a Father's Day card and I made a random card. Edie was making more coasters and a Father's Day card. Bea and I both used the same taping technique, which is so easy, but effective. Then I videod Bea running through our 'meadow ', pretending it was SloMo. Great fun.
I fed the girls and ourselves and then my son came back and we completely loaded up his car with our junk. He drove off with the girls to the dump. So great to see all that stuff gone. Microwave, printer, vacuum cleaner, leaf blower, television, record deck, kettle, lamps and shades, curtains, etc etc. Phew!
Now for a nap!

😀 Tracey, that's a clever gift from your daughter. Glad you had a good date night.
😀 Carol, glad you found a solution to your crying. I hope you're also trying some behavioral modifications like exercise, hobbies, reading about better mental health.
😀 Allie, I read on those nights when my sleep is bad. It is a great way to spend the time. You are fortunate that you don't ave a sleeping partner who be irritated by your reading to pass the time.
😀 Heather, too much grandchild time can be stressful. You're like me in needing time by myself to recharge after company.
😀 Pip, I hope you get more donations. I admire your consistency with this event.
😀 Grocery pickup this morning then I'll work in the yard before it gets hot. It promises to be even hotter today than it was yesterday. I have a Zoom call with a friend at 11 and I'm walking with another friend at noon.
😀 My step count is lower on hot days because Annie likes to walk more so even though I'm out for a long time, she likes to stop and sniff a lot and that doesn't count as steps.

Beautiful rain outside. My new bulbs will like it.
Stayed inside and listened to the Classic 100 Piano presentation on ABC Classic FM.
The classical music station holds a Classic 100 each year, with a different theme each year. This year's theme was "Piano".
People can vote for their favourite 10 Piano pieces, the votes are tallied and there's a 2-day presentation of the top 100.
Love it!!
Here's how people voted:
Did laundry, cleaned my bathroom, finished reading a book, and getting close to finishing colouring another page - I'm down to the little detail work.
I'm also working on a page of our club's website. I need to have something together for that page by early July.
Tomorrow and Tuesday are also supposed to be very rainy.

Tracey … so very sorry to hear that there were no viable eggs … it's devastating
Carol … glad the crying has stopped and praying you get a new doctor who will review and manage your depression better.
Thinking of Kim this morning.
Rebecca … you look great in your photos with your sister! And that Tucker is quite the dog.
Barbara … I'm calling the store where we bought the mattress tomorrow. Might as well give them a heads up because it's going back! Tried another bed in the house last night, but it just caused different problems.
Tina … so sorry your husband is having so much pain. I know how one person's health affects everyone in the household.
Church, cut the grass before the rain comes in and figuring out what to make for dinner. That will be my day.

Good morning, my chickens,
I almost feel like I'm bragging, but I slept for nearly ten hours, and I feel so much better for it! Resisted taking a nap yesterday, and then stayed up later than I planned, as I wanted to finish just one more row on my latest crochet project… 😂😳🤷🏻♀️ Took longer than I expected.
And… am well into my usual calm Sunday morning… occasionally ferrying coffee into the bedroom to fuel my husband's intrepid exploring around the wilds of the interwebs… and catching up with y'all. He was up earlier than me and escaped from the bedroom without waking me, bless him. Had to make his own pot of coffee… 😂
And, speaking of my husband, I thought I'd share one of my favorite scenes. This is from yesterday evening - Corey takes a walk around the cleared acres of our property every night, just giving himself a little quiet transition from work before he dives back into our home life.
Egg accompanies him, and this is their favorite spot at about 5 p.m. She sits on the small tableside built into the bench and he sits and drinks a beer and pets her every once in a while and just… sits.
I picked that bench up seven years ago now, and repainted it, replaced the slats, and it lives about 50 yards from the house or so. I had to use my zoom to get the pic. The view from the tree is all meadow and treeline, and humming bees and a wildflower or two. Can't hear any road noise or people's voices or banging metal or motors, like he does all day. Sometimes I accompany him, but mostly, this is his time. And Egg's.
We'll probably do some work outside, but it's honestly already at the limit of my comfort. Nothing major we HAVE to get done. Sure enjoying the sun this morning. Read everyone's posts. I think of you all more than you know. Glad you're here.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR8 -
Allie - so sorry your sleep is messed up. Hope you can get good sleep tonight. How is your energy level? Are you able to get out and walk much?
Tracey - what a nice present from Kaitlyn and Brodey. So sorry to hear about Lauryn's friend, a hard hard decision. And also sad to hear that Kaitlyn and Brodey's hopes for a baby aren't going to materialize.
Debbie - glad to hear the scan was clear and good idea to get a DEXA baseline. Sounds like a wonderful walk in the wetlands, so much to see there. I'm curious - how/where did you meet your current DH and do you think his health problems/MIL have contributed to his behavior now? I see a local family care home is for sale and the seller is hoping an RN will buy it and continue the business. Reminds me of your MIL's situation.
Carol - so glad the meds are helping and hopefully a new doctor will have ways to help you manage your depression better.
Tina - your DH's leg and screw coming loose makes me cringe. 😣 Glad he's able to walk, that's a plus. Glad to hear you're going on that trip to Ireland, sounds like a fun vacation. Glad the hike is helping with weight loss and fitting into those clothes again.
Barbara - does your doctor know you are on the COMB supplements? When I was a Dr. Lisa's the other day her nurse asked if I had changed any of the supplements and I told her no, it didn't occur to me until I got home that I'd added the Strontium and Omega 3's. 😐️
Heather - Nice to get things taken away to the dump- what a collection. Funny how time passes and our attachments to some things fade. I'm ready to haul off things to the thrift store or garbage can that I felt I couldn't part with a year ago, hope this feeling continues, lol. Hope you can rest up from Sue's visit this week. Sounds like you had a good time - loved the photo of her and John.
Beth - Good luck shopping for the next mattress. Any ideas which one you'll try next?
Fawn update-
Last evening I let the hens out for one final adventure and was busy watering things on the other side of the shop. Finished that and went to look for the hens - they like to hang around under some trees by the back gate. I didn't see them there, but guess what I found! A sweet tiny fawn face looking at me from under the branches. I found the girls, got them back in their pen and opened up that gate so mama could take the fawn out and into one of the many forests around here.
This morning - fawn is gone so I'm hoping that's what happened and mama didn't park it back in the thicket here. I closed the gate so Rosie and the hens wouldn't be tempted to venture into the front yard.
It's such a beautiful morning here, the sun is up high enough to light up part of the back yard. I can smell the honeysuckle we planted next to an arbor years ago, it's in full bloom and is perfuming the whole neighborhood. I let the girls out for a few minutes while I pulled some thistles and just enjoyed the cool of the morning before the hot blast returns this afternoon. I have some windows open with fresh air flowing through the house. It will soon be time to button it up.
Reminder that tomorrow is Weekly Check in for those participating.
Make it a super day!

I caught this screenshot from the video of Bea pretending to do SloMo through the 'meadow'. Huge fun.
John went out after my son left, to cut back the bush that was half obscuring our driveway. Good job. Our visitors have hardly been able to get in with their car sensors screaming at them.

Worked for me!
Lanette and Lynn, did I ever tell the story of the Bernese Moutnain dog that was camping? If I did, sorry, but here goes. The camper beside me had 2 women who had just bought the camper and were just learning about camping. They had a Bernie camping with them that I befriended. (Had to lean against their camper as he was a ‘hugger’ ! Lol) Well, they were getting ready to leave and couldn’t figure out how to undo one of the connections. I saw them struggling so went over to help. I bent down to see if I could help and look. Then this humongous Head came at me from under the camper. I almost fell because he surprised me so much! He was tied on the opposite side of the machine but spotted me and wanted to say hi! He wasn’t mean or anything, he licked me once I got my nerves and adrenaline under control! We all laughed and the owner was apologizing. I was laughing too and said he simply surprised me! I didn’t expect a ‘monster’ to come out from under her camper! They all doubled over laughing, meanwhile the Bernese was just looking goofy from under the camper because he was stuck there now. Looked like he was smiling right along with us! Awesome dogs! 🐕🤪
Speaking of dogs, Lucy was gnawing on the skirt under a chair in the camper but both her ears were up. I called her name and got a cute picture of her and her radar ears!
Wicket is beggining to tolerate Lucy. She has no choice as Lucy seems to know Wicket won’t hurt her! Wicket is 13 years old.
Long day yesterday in the pay booth. Another today, but I enjoy that. We had a couple of problems with campers in the wrong sites, but both nothing I couldn’t handle even though I was exhausted after the booth from 9-5 yesterday. One was that they had the wrong date, but I was able to help them by putting them in the empty host site. They were so happy I was able to help, when they left this morning, they gave me a little bag with 2 bars of homemade soaps, a jar of body lotion, and a chapstick all homemade. They were so happy! The token makes me happy to help. There are some nice people out there. The other problem turned out I knew about that happening and had a place for him by the lake. He was ecstatic and thankful for the upgrade. When I have to move someone, I always try to upgrade them as a thank you for being patient with us. A good day all in all.
I need to prepare for the booth so need to go. Here is

Heather, I've got one in the garage that needs to go as well. 😁 Your son must have a lot of room in his car for all that! I have gotten rid of a lot of similar items over the past couple years - old computers, printers - our state has a recycle program so I can drop them off at a store (Staples) and not have to do the dump thing. Also have a microwave, way too heavy for me to lift. That will be for the big trash/dump run. At least it's in the shop and out of my way.
Lisa - wow, that photo of Corey sure brought back memories. My DH would sit on his bench in the late afternoon, drink a beer, admire the "jungle" and pet the cat as well. And he'd have a smoke. Thank you for sharing it.
Rita - you are such a thoughtful camp host, the ranger is lucky to have you. Wow, those campers gave you some very nice gifts - I love that kind of stuff. Now I want to find someone with a Bernie and get me some big dog lovin', lol.
Weight woes…. Well, my blasted weight is going up and I know why - the nuts WinCo made me buy, lol. 😣 That store is evil with its bulk nuts!!! I did just fine when all I had was unsalted walnuts and occasional hazelnuts this past year. Am I the only person who has cut way back on sugar, "white" starches and processed foods only to have intense cravings for salty crunchy food? Why am I dreaming of pretzels and potato chips? ACK!
Anyhow my weight is a few pounds over my range and I can tell it in my waist. Thankfully what's left of the salted macadamia nuts are now at the bottom of the big freezer and I'm back to logging with only walnuts in my food diary. It worked for me a year ago.
