Nice to see you back, Annie.
Beth-Finding a mattress that he mister and I are both happy with has been brutally unsuccessful. I feel your pain.
I canβt recall who gave the mattress shopping tips, but a big thank you!Tracey-Sorry Rodger is acting that way. Iβm the adult in my relationship too, but money is separate if he wants to spend thousands on something, he can as long as he gives me money for bills. If he acts like a baby and stops talking to me, I consider it a nice break π.
Allie-Your room at the cottage looks wonderful! Enjoy that.
Well, I managed a 6 mile hike yesterday, but by mile 5, my legs felt like lead. After, I drove a few more miles to a little historic mining town and got myself a nice lunch at an βold fashionedβ soda fountain. Also stopped for a couple of pieces of apple pie, which is a big draw for that town, and some cider from the cider mill. Nice and slow drive home. It was a great βmeβ day. We will eat the pie over several days. This has sort of been my routine for the past few weeks. Hike, stop for a treat, repeat.Tina in CA

hi ladies,
I got to page 5. I will read everything eventually. Thank you to Lisa for sending along my updates. To fast moving and too much going on to be able to have updated you myself. Thanks for all the good wishes. Where I stand now is I am 6 days from surgery. I had 2 surgeries back to back. One removed a tumor, the second removed a blood clot. All of this put pressure on my optical neve and my vision is the only real issue. But the second surgery was unexpected as was this complication. So if the vision issues will be resolving is yet to be known. At the current time I have little peripheral vision in both eyes. It often improves the long I am up, but not always and not consistently. Today is pretty good, which means looking straight ahead there is light up and down (ceilings and floor - not just grey or black) and right to left is similar on each side and I can see and identify to my cheeks plus 10-15% Which is awful in real life but pretty good for me. I am still on a cocktail of drugs, my nasal cavities are fully packed in material and have drainage on my throat - all that is as it is supposed to be. I am off work, driving, swimming and head below heart until August. And that could be extended. I am considering retiring and selling my business as without good vision I just can not successfully do this work.
My friends from book club, garden club and just other friends are helping out tremendously. I would be lost without my housemate - but this is hard on him too, I am working hard on communicating what I need, want and what is really optional. And reminding him it is ok to be as angry or frustrated as he needs to be. He has called on his group of other 25 ish year old car mechanics to help too, so it is a bit funny to hear this group of guys trying to help "miss kim" This week is 2 virtual, and 2 in person doctor appointments and a counseling appointment. Next week is an appointment or 2 each day!
I am trying to stay in good spirts, the exercise and good choices this group has helped with have made my days easier. I was in the hospital getting ready to go home and took off the dreaded gown, and standing in the room put on my undies and pants while standing I thought the nurse was going to need cpr. She stuttered out YOU ARE A FALL RISK - I was like ok⦠I have been putting clothes on this way for years. I think it was Heather who started me back on one leg standing.. Well 5 pages of reading and this note took 3 hours, I need to do some laundry so I will go atempt that and will try to get back once a week or so. I have a lot on my plate still so have to make some big decisions.
Love you all,
Kim in N. California

Annie - welcome back! What a treat to hear from you. Sorry to about your foot but is sounds like you're on top of it. As to gaining weight backβ¦ you are not alone! I know what kind of stress you've been under with your dad, your sleep and eating patterns messed up, 24/7 concern. I think there's some ancient response in our genes when we are under extreme stress that overrides will power, planningβ¦ just everything....we reach for food. Maybe our ancient ancestors struggled with drought and hunger and gaining weight is how our primitive brain copes with all stress. My stress is very small compared to your life yet I gained some back too. My goal is to keep fresh fruit and healthy stuff in the house if I feel the need to overeat - but I know the mini mart on the corner has ice cream π£. So far I've been able to steer clear but I know it's there. Is your dad still going to his senior daycare? Has your sister been up to visit lately?
Beth - I wonder if the mattress place will offer you a free topper to soften it up a bit. I recall we once had a new mattress that just wasn't as comfortable as we'd hoped after several months or so - when I called the company to complain, they sent a free 1 or 2 inch topper. I'm not sure which, but it did help for a while.
Rita - glad K is staying around for a few days, she sounds like so much fun and I know has been good for you. We all need someone like K in our lives to keep us young and energized. Lucy is a smart little gal! Love her ears.
Lisa - you are a whiz with that tractor. Isn't it nice to live in the country and drive your tractor to the filling station? Thanks too for the update on our Kim. Glad to hear her vision is improving and praying she gets back to normal quickly.
Allie - nice cozy bed in simple surroundings, the sound of the ocean. Can't get much better than that. π
Lorna - beautiful, beautiful photos. Is your DH a professional photographer? I wish I'd have gotten started in martial arts - I almost typed MARITAL arts, lol.
Debbie - I want to reach through the screen and grab a handful of those raspberries. We were sharing the same brain yesterday - I put a jar of salsa and a can of black beans on the counter. I got an ear of corn at the produce stand yesterday I want to pop into the microwave and cut it off the cob and make some type of bean salad.
Barbie - good job on getting those fence panels washed. Is that something that needs to be done every year? Thanks for sharing your eating schedule too.
Yesterday I made a batch of keto chicken nuggets - one 12 oz can of drained canned chicken breast (Swanson) mixed thoroughly with 1 egg and 1/2 c shredded cheese - I used Cheddar - I have used Mozzarella in the past. Dropped 10 little patties onto a parchment lined cookie sheet, kind of smooshed them down and formed into uniform "nuggets" and baked at 375 for 15 - 20 minutes until the tops started to get brown. There are a lot of recipes on YouTube and FB. I calculated 45 calories, 0 carbs, 2 gm fat and 5 gm protein per each one. They are definitely filling.
Got my back X-ray at the crack of dawn this morning so we'll see. Collette called, her back is still not good but wants to come next Monday morning instead of Tuesday. Hopefully the Shark Rocket will be easier on her than my old heavier push/pull vacuum.

Annie - So glad to see you⦠I'm heavier than I was when you were here, and starting over again on my own exercise routine. On day 4, in fact. Just glad you're there, and glad you're here with us.
Kim - That you had three hours to invest in a post tells me how different your days are right now. I think of you every day. So glad your community and your housemate and his friends have stepped up for you. You deserve that, dear heart.
Got up to nearly 100 before the clouds rolled in - the rain will be starting a couple hours earlier than predicted, it looks like, and three days of rain, possibly five. Arguing with the weather isn't useful, so I've done my chair exercises inside and I'm headed for my chair and watching a bit of TV.
Later, y'all,
Love,

π For years we grew pumpkins, baked them, and froze the pumpkin in single meal size bags for veggies for the winter. A few years ago Jake found an interesting bluish green pumpkin at QFC and we saved the seeds to plant the next year. Last year none of the seeds that I planted directly into the ground sprouted probably because the birds ate them so I planted more in pots in the yard and transplanted them into the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately they were planted so late that even though the vines produced a bunch of pumpkins they were so late that none of them ripened enough to eat. I enjoy watching them grow so if I don't get pumpkin to eat, it's ok with me.
π Washed another half panel of the fence. I'll finish the last panel when the iris next to it finish blooming.
π Had to go to the bank today so Annie got a treat when we went through the drive through.

Since I got out of work early today, I made the apple pie. Then bowling. A lady who is a notary came by to notarize the paper for us for the deck
Lorna β is your husband a professional photographer? Fabulous pictures
Annie β I remember when you did βwas it the bike? β and you started with something like 5 minutes, then 10, then 15, so you CAN do this. Youβll find a way to do it with your dad.
Pip β beautiful! You are so talented
Kim β thank you for taking the time to stop in. Continued good thoughts to you. So very glad you have help
Subbed bowled today. C mentioned to me that someone on her fatherβs team moved to Nashville so he was going to see if he could recruit Vince. Vince said he didnβt have a problem with it. Thereβs no way on this green earth youβd get me to go on that league. Subbing...fine. Permanent...no way

Hi everyone;
My doctor's visit was pleasant yesterday., We my plans to move. I would feel better if DH got a reliable job. He got licensed to sell insurance. His old job wants him back, so we wouldn't have to move, but we have property in Chicago, and he wants to live somewhere new. There are no mortgage payments there. I am so torn. I love the change of seasons, and my other bestie, Mar-Mar, is there. I love all of my doctors here in Mississippi. DS is worried about where he will live when he graduatesβthere's a lot to think about. Today was a good day. I woke at 5 am and had cottage cheese and peaches with my English muffin.
I stripped the bed and started laundry. Then I made an appointment with the orthotic lady because the new one was ready. Then, I changed my appointment with the weight loss doctor. Then, I scheduled an appointment with my orthopedic doctor for my left hand, which has a trigger finger. I colored stickers for my calendar. Then, I worked on my work schedule. Then, I submitted the changes. I have to wait for approval. I felt lightheaded at noon, so I ate lunch (a healthy choice of pasta). Then I played with Rose outside. Then Rose and I took a nice nap.
I washed her toy squirrel. I made a beef and vegetable stir-fry for dinner and portioned it out for the other days. I also baked Coke Zero cupcakes. I used a box of cake mix and 355ml of Coke Zero, mixed them, and then baked them at 350Β°F. Frosted them with zero-sugar frosting and individually wrapped them up with Saran wrap, then put them in a gallon-size Ziplock bag and placed them in the freezer. Loaded the dishwasher and wiped down the upper tops. Then I folded sheets and put work clothes in the dryer, and now I have towels. I am going to bed soon. I need to organize all of my meds first.Machka - Great response to Rodger. I love your bluntness.
Barbie, it sounds like your dog, Annie, keeps you busy. I wish the pumpkins could have grown . Maybe next year.
Lisa, it sounds like you're working hard out back.
Beth, DH said that is the right way to do it. You wear comfortable clothing and test the mattress for a while. He said he wishes that you had a better salesman in the beginning.
Lorna, those pictures of Maine are beautiful. I will share some from my trip just before the pandemic.
Pip, I love those lanterns, and after you painted them, they looked fantastic.
Allie, you look great. I am glad you got to snuggle, Delia. In the cottage, have you considered installing LVP? Dan was sweet to take out the garbage for you.
Kim, it's great hearing from you, and don't overdo it.
I am tired now. I will post next week after my stretch of work.
XO,
Mo in Mississippi

Lorna - I really love the photos your DH took.
Machka - He does have a job now, he even got some retro pay from last year. Things what caused the silence last night, I wanted to use that money to get caught up on bills, he feels he earned it. If he would just sit and look at the bills once this wouldnβt happen. He refuses and says Iβm doing a fine job of managing, but he doesnβt have to feel the stress of juggling everything.
Lisa - I did that βfairβ thing for a long time too, it finally dawned on me that I was just making more stress for myself.
I do bring up a lot of the time that I quit smoking so I could afford things I wanted, at the time I quit cigarettes cost me about $300 a month. That was $10 a day. He still smokes and they now cost $26.52 a pack and he smokes a pack a day. That makes me angry as he doesnβt think he spends money.
π«
We really need you to send that rain North.Barbie - Itβs a tough road this responsibility.
Heather - I delay doing my roots too. I need to this weekend. The big boss is coming next week.
Tina - I wish I could embrace the silence. I canβt, I feel everything too much.Itβs funny my boss has been in a bad mood the last few weeks, thereβs been a lot going on and none of it is directed at me, but itβs wearing on me.
Kim - Iβm so happy to see you post. Iβm sorry you have to think of selling.
I had a little snicker at the 25 years old mechanics helping you out. How fortunate you are.Pip - pretty planter.
Had a better day today at home. I thought of doing some crafting this evening but got caught up in a new movie on Netflix called Straw. I think itβs a movie I could watch a few times. Quite insightful movie.

Kim: I'm sending energy to totally restore your vision. I'm so glad you have your young roommate. My tenant is going on 3 years here. It's a win-win, and definitely gives me some peace of mind to know he would step up for me and Mars in the event of a life event. If you do decide to sell your business I hope it brings truckloads of moolah.
Annie: Ditto what others have said about baby steps. Maybe it's time to set another incentive, like you did for your trip to LV.
Tina: Good on you for the hiking. I might try your routine to see if it reverses my aversion to hiking. I have lots of quaint old towns and restaurants near here.
Lorna: I love the photos of Maine. I was in Ogunquit this past September and have been seriously thinking about going further up the coast this year.
Pip: Love the garage sale treasures you're upcycling.
Debbie: Those raspberries!!!!
Tracey: Sorry you are have a petulant DH on your hands. May it pass soon and everyone will return to smiling from the satisfaction that comes from simple joys.
Today I had a phone appointment with my primary care physician. She consulted with a cardiologist regarding my echocardiogram. The upper right ventricle of my heart is enlarged. Though not of serious concern, they would like to pin down the cause. Pulmonary issue? I don't think so. Never smoked and don't have any of the classic signs. Sleep apnea? Again, I don't have the symptoms, but, what the heck, I'll accept the "at home' testing protocol and let her prescribe the test. More data for my file. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the pool has become my happy place. (Thought of you, Michele). I go as close to 9:00 AM as possible and get in 40 mins of water walking, then running, then deep water exercises then laps. Yesterday, I worked outside for 9 hours at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. I was part of a small team that helps secure the area for the load in of the upcoming show. This also includes the tour busses which bring in the bands and their support crew. Yesterday it was Sheryl Crow. Her people were very nice and professional to work with. She smiled at me, so that was cool too. On Saturday, James Taylor is there, and I hope to be able to get close enough to personally thank him for his songs and decades of great shows.
Red Rocks where is where I last saw Brian Wilson in concert, 3 years ago. I have been a Beach Boys fan since my teenage years. Saw them often while growing up in Southern California. May he rest in peace. His genius lives on in the wonderful music he created. π’
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

I was a bit lost during the lecture last night. The lecturer spoke fast and mumbled, so I lost a lot of it. Luckily I could get the general idea, and had read up on Wikipedia beforehand, but I can't say I enjoyed it. The questions went on too long, so we missed out on M&S. Humpf! At least it got us out of the house and hearing French, but I usually understand a lot more. π
G was up in London, seeing a play with P, and I kept getting texts about her horrendous, delayed, journey home by train. Quite funny really. Even she could see the funny side. We have Zoom today, so there will be an update. They also went to some fancy new restaurant she had read about in the Guardian. 'Fabulous, but not cheap.' π She spends soooo much money on enjoying herself, but it's really a distraction from her pain over her estranged daughter.
Today I have to cancel my Readly subscription, before they charge me. This is the second time they've given me two months for free. I always put the cancellation date in my diary.
The painting I started, that I was thinking about putting in my new bedroom, I'm going to abandon and gesso it over. I started it before the room was painted, so the colours are too harsh, and now I have a better idea of what I want. I can see it in my mind. Whether I can produce it, I don't know. π
Love to all, especially to Kim. Big choices. π

Good morning my friends! It's so lovely to have such a warm welcome. Makes my heart happy!
Yes to baby steps! I'm trying, but my nature is either all or nothing. But I did okay yesterday. I bought a bunch of better groceries. Instead of battered chicken nuggets that my Dad ate, I had 4oz of boiled chicken breast. And a little cabbage with a lime dressing that wasn't great. Next I'm going to try lime juice with white grape juice and chia seeds, and drop the oil. Maybe that will make a sweet low calorie dressing for my cabbage. And I bought some nonfat cottage cheese and slivered almonds and black beans and stuff.
I have been doing grocery pickup, where I pick out things online, and they assemble the order and bring it to the car. This is because of my foot, which is still giving me twinges when I stand on it.
And I made my mango spinach smoothie for the first time in many months. Yay! And I did six minutes on the bike Yay! And I did get out my yoga mat and did some light stretches. Yay! So baby steps on a lot of fronts.
Last night Dad asked me if Mom was gone. She died in Dec of 2023. I said yes, against the advice of the dementia community. I figure he is still clear enough to want the truth. And it was a split second decision. Very Sad.
On a different note, I discovered that the odd color on the stair railing is not the wood stain, but rather caked on grime. It's going to be hard to clean with my bad foot, but it's rather disgusting. Maybe dish soap and hot water? With a scrubber pad? Any cleaning ideas out there?
Well, enough about me!
Kim, many hugs!! So sorry to hear about your vision, and the possible sale of your business. A huge decision.
Heather I also need to dye my roots but I'm putting it off until my foot is more stable. Right now my hair is a dark brownish red, with an inch of little grey sparkles at the roots! And good for you for attending a difficult French session!
Tina Wow 6 miles!
Mo moving is a huge decision. Hope you find what you want.
Rori wishing you good news about your heart!
Lanette yes my Dad is still going to the senior center, which gives me eight hours most weeks of off duty so I can shower, etc. I stopped taking him to Bible study because it made him cry. I think they asked him about Mom. And my sister is coming the end of July. Yay!
Beth, as Lanette said, I would consider a mattress topper. I like the idea that they can be cleaned separately. I have one that I use for a camping mattress. It's wicked heavy, but so comfortable.
Pip that's a beautiful planter and I love the dragonflies! And as always, your mileage is so impressive!
Lisa you are getting so much done with that tractor! Yay!
May you all be happy, healthy, safe, and free!

The person who sits closest to me at work was just diagnosed with COVID. He was fine yesterday, but not well today and stayed home today.
So, since I've been exposed, I've been sent home to work from home.
I dashed out to get some test kits and a few things just in case.
I'm feeling OK so far β¦ just very, very tired.
Mattress shopping - when my husband and I bought our mattresses in early 2014, I took the advice given here and spent some time lying on 2 or 3 different mattresses. Probably not the 20 minutes Elaine suggested, but a solid 10 minutes or a bit more. I also tried a couple pillows and LOVED one. I told them, when I went in, what I was going to do. π As I recall, my husband felt a bit uncomfortable with the idea of going in and lying down so he didn't spend as much time.
It has only been recently that I've found my mattress to be somewhat uncomfortable and I got a memory foam topper. Not perfect but it will do for now.
Meanwhile, my husband started complaining about his mattress after about 5 years and has been using different toppers.
I suppose at some point, we should get new mattresses.
Magazine subscriptions - one of the nice things about Libby is that I have access to all sorts of magazines! For free!
Swimming - I managed half a length with the correct strokes and the correct breathing pattern on Tuesday. Then I started thinking about my kicking and the breathing all went out the window. Baby steps, I suppose.

My most recent colouring β¦ all with acrylic paint pens and gel pens. Had a bit of fun with it. π

Tracey β¦ I manage the money in my marriage. If I die before my husband, he won't know how to pay the bills. He won't even know what bills need paid. Yes, I do have it all written down with login/passwords/etc, but he'll still be lost. I had denied myself for years to keep the budget running and then decided one year that I was done playing Pollyanna for my husband. I made my husband look at all the numbers and "funds" I had created. We agreed at the beginning to not let the conversation dissolve into a screaming/crying match and with every ounce of restraint that we possessed we got through it. To his credit, he was impressed and thankful with my efforts. I still manage the money because, frankly, I'm good at it, but we have a healthier (not perfect because I default into Pollyanna every once in a while) financial relationship when considering purchases. I will say that it has gotten easier since we've retired β¦ most likely because the budget has a little wiggle room as we no longer have mortgages or credit card debt and he's more aware of what goes on day to day now that he's home.
Annie ⦠the grime on the handrail can be removed with any type of degreaser made for wood⦠like Murphy's Oil Soap⦠and a microfiber cloth. I removed decades of grime from a wooden handrail at our church with with a wet Mr. Eraser. And it took both the grime and the remaining stain off. That was a good thing actually. The wood was pretty and maintenance just put on varnish after it had dried thoroughly.
Kim β¦ continue to heal. I'll be praying that you make decisions that are not only wise, but that also bring you peace. Hugs.
Mattress: Thank you all for the mattress suggestions. I'm going to be spending more time at the store finding the right one for exchange. I agree that we didn't spend enough time trying out the current mattress and the salesperson could have cared less. It will eventually all work out.
Need to get moving!
Have a great day! Beth near Buffalo

π Annie, I have been using grocery curbside pickup for about four years and I love it. It is so easy to grab my phone and add something to my list when I notice that I need it. On Saturday I go over the list to see if I want to add something else, then set my pickup time for Sunday morning when traffic in town in light. Have you looked online for solutions for the grime on the stair railing? I looked online and found that vinegar was the solution to a couple of cleaning dilemmas.
π Pip, you are creative along with all your other talents.
π Covid, our public library has Covid test available for anyone who wants them
π Mattress When I was looking for something else, I found the paperwork from the mattress that Jake chose for the guest bed when he was sleeping in the other room. It cost over $4000. Because of the bed frame, it's too high for me to get in and out comfortably, so I've never slept on it. Daughter seemed happy enough with it when she visited. On the other hand, the king mattress that I've been sleeping on since 2011 is still comfortable for me.
π Heather, On a TV show yesterday there was a character complaining about his long flight from Dublin to London and the police sergeant interviewing him told him to stop complaining that she'd had longer rides on the Tube. I thought of you and your stories about challenging travel in and around London.
π Kim, many hugs as you recover from your ordeal. I know you're giving yourself time to heal. It's hard to not be impatient to get back to being yourself. All your kindness to others is coming back to you with the people that are helping you.
π± I haven't minded the mess in the living room and office with dog toys, balls, blankets, and pillow stuffing until I decided that it was time to vacuum. It has been a challenge to pick up all the stuff when Annie's not watching ready to grab it back. I've put away everything but a few balls and the blankets so I can vacuum after walking and garden watering.

Bit of a shock today with the plane crash in India. It was on its way to Gatwick, so 53 British on board. Some Canadians also. Of course, any deaths are terrible, but it brings it very close to home. We have been to India twice, and loved it. So awful for all involved.
I've put in a Waitrose order for tomorrow, including one of their 'meal deals'. I will keep the starter for a lunch sometime, but we have a main and a side to eat immediately. The delivery person brings the order into our kitchen, and helps us unpack it from the trays, so it couldn't be easier. π€©

Morning, my chickensβ¦
Kinda staggering this morning, was up a couple hours in the night, but slept in until nearly 8 to balance that out, felt quite late for me.
The rain came and went in the night, not as much as expected over our heads, though they got hit all around us, but in another couple hours, we'll get it, at least according to the radar. Was planning to stay inside and work this morning, but I've got a couple hours' grace, so I think I'll go get a few more things picked up that don't require taking a tractor over muddy ground. Last of the cleanup stuff:
The guys came in for the final cleanup with their much larger tractor yesterday, and got all the really, really big stuff up and in the dumpster, like a 20 year old big-body TV and a mattress that I was, frankly, terrified to even touch. I can't imagine what was living in that after goodness knows how many years in the woods.
They also, finally, hauled off more than a dozen tires infesting the banks of the little seasonal stream that were giving me nightmares about snakes, as well. They also buried their big tractor up to the axles in the mud before they got it all done. We've had SO much rain, I was not surprised in the slightest.
Now Corey and I can pick up the smaller bits around the edge that no tractor could pick up, and whatever else might be hiding in the underbrush. (Fingers crossed nothing else large.) (Or alive! π²) Will pick up as much as we can in the next three weeks, then have the company pick up the dumpster. Lots that can still go in there, for sure. Last gasp of this cleanup is nearly done. Corey was pleased, and so am I. Well worth paying someone else to do it. We would have still been out there working until September or October instead of having it done and dusted in six weeks.
I let this sit for nearly an hour while I talked to Kim a bit, and I'm sure she'll drop by here again soon. We don't usually talk every day, but I've been worried, of course. She's definitely on the mend, though.
Rori - Glad they're keeping a close eye on your heart. Love your attitude to keeping things out of the worry column, just regarding it as more data to remain healthy.
Annie, darlin' - So glad you're back and happy with your beginnings. I agree with the Murphy's Oil Soap - and that you shouldn't use a Magic Eraser unless you want to take the finish off completely. A vinegar rinse should remove any Murphy's Oil Soap that remains, as well.
Heather - Sorry the French speaker wasn't conducive to understanding. I find a lot of English speakers aren't either, so there's that. π²π
Pip - Love the painted things. Nice eye.
Barbie - The thought of $4,000 for a guest bed, even if Jake was sleeping on it for a while, took my breath away. Honestly, our current queen-sized mattress came with the bed frame, which was part of a set that we bought seven years ago. Pretty sure the whole set, with the mattress, cost less than $2,000. I tend to adjust my sleeping ability as necessary with pillows, like a wedge pillow under my knees and a small, tube-shaped pillow that I cut down from a full-sized pillow. It keeps my hands from falling asleep, as I put my arm on it to keep it elevated. We also have a 4-inch thick topper on it that keeps us quite comfortable. Each to their own. Re: Guest bed:
Our guest bed is a $200 mattress on a $100 frame. It was shipped to the house, and I was able to wrestle it onto the frame, open the box and cut open the shrink wrap and let it expand right there.
At the moment, the mattress and the frame are on side up against the wall in the spare bedroom with my elliptical, as all the storage things were moved in there while we finish up remodeling the other room.
I do have to note that the guest bed, like our sofa, is not meant to be terribly comfortable. We like having people visit, but we don't want them to stay for long periods of time, so don't buy furniture that might encourage that.
We said as much when we bought the sofa five years ago, and I thought the salesman was going to laugh himself sick. Said there had probably been other customers thinking it, but we were the first ones who said it out loud. We bought a very comfortable loveseat with electric recliners built in for the two of us, but we don't sit on the sofa.
Not trying to be a curmudgeon, but we like our quiet lives very much.
OK - I kind of like being a curmudgeon. I'll admit it. ππ²π€·π»ββοΈ
Ah well, I think I'll give up on the outside stuff and go into town before the rain starts and get an anniversary card for Corey. And a birthday card for my best friend, while I'm at it. Not something I can order online, unfortunately.
And, I'm offβ¦
Love y'all,

Hi Gals,
I played more with my computer yesterday, and found βmost?β of the accessibility settings and have set the font larger, I would like it to be bolder but have not found that as a default, but larger with more space between the lines is allowing me to focus with less eye stain and with better ability to proof.
It did allow me to read up on everyonesβs lives. I appreciate so much Lisaβs help, everyones good thoughts and wishes, and swooping good energy to my vision. Doc has said most healing in the first 8 weeks (so between now and week 2 of august) Iβll be ok whatever I get back, but to have the freedom to drive back would be such a blessing. Rori the card is so wonderful thanks. My god-daughter is a Physical Therapist in Boston and yesterday she found out I was not on a program yet, and changed that right up. So now I am on a 40 min per day exercise program in 4 10min windows, some stretching and light non-impact cardio β walking mostly she wants the blood and oxygen moving! I am completely compliant, changing my diet to keep the sugars low, and heavily plant based, I had been heading there on the diet, but with my nasal packing I canβt smell so have been able to break the βdessert sugarsβ without withdrawals so this is my new set up. It will be some adjustment, but I might get the weight down a bit more too.
Annie welcome back.
All of the pictures are a delight.
Thinking of you all,

Back to cooler weather on the island today. Summer didn't last long. We might get a couple more summery days, but its usually like two weeks worth of Summer then back to highs of 60's.
Today is grocery shopping and dose day! I need more veggies! And more protein!
Texted with my youngest last night. We don't video chat all the time, and this other mode, while not as connected, is fine. I found the mic icon and just chatted to him and it wrote down everything I said. Way easier! Of course saying "uuugh" kept writing "hugh"! He sent me an audio file if his " snort laugh" so I have already listened to that multiple times. Gosh I miss that kid.π
Money-
I think for husband and I anything household related we need to buy,we discuss it first. If he wants to buy something hobby related and it's over $100 he tells me. I don't ask him if I can get my hair cut or something, I say "well I would like to get my hair trimmed this week". We are a team, and we're saving for a car presently so there's that. I'm sorry to hear of the husbands that aren't respectful about money, or give you the silent treatment. They aren't 5 years old.π₯π
My clothes are more comfortable these days, granted 13 lbs is just a drop in the bucket but still nice not to be carrying that around on my body.πππΌ onward and slowly climbing down this obesity mountain I used to be comfortable perched on.
