It's stunning, the painting on the curvy parts, just sweet. Its bright and summery! Great job!

Elaine - If you want to answer each one individually, like Rebecca does, or like I just did you, select this command at the bottom of THEIR post. It will snap you right down to the post box, and put their post in at the beginning of it. You can't change any of it or do anything with it other than using the backup key to delete it, if you choose.
Barbie had the right of, different people keep up with each other in different ways. Only a few keep up with everyone, but I think everyone ends up reaching out to all the rest at some point. We welcome anyone to come and join in the conversations, but we also know it can be overwhelming
All you had to do to answer Margaret was to use her name, as I did you, at the beginning of a paragraph, and she'll know it's her. At this point, many forget to add their locations because we don't have any duplicate first names right now. We have had in the past - and so many like to garden and ask gardening questions that when we know where your live, approximately, you can get some good advice from some master gardenters among us, like Kim and Lanette. We do have some that go by a different name that they're comfortable with, like Machka, and some that are more comfortable using other's usernames to address them, like Pip and, occasionally, Machka.
No right or wrong way, just whatever way suits your own comfort levels in what is, in the end, a public forum.
If you are working on a computer, as I am, by the way, and want to just pull out a clip from someone's post to cite in your response, you can cut and paste the piece in that you want to answer into your post, like I've done here below, and then go back, highlight it, select the paragraph icon at left of the post box and when this box opens up that you see at right here, as an image, you can select the word quote and it will look like this one:
Well done, Elaine! Very glad you're here.
Hope that's not too overwhelming - genuinely, just join in with any comment you choose, like your message to Margaret, whether addressing her by name or by username, and she will know, as will the rest of us, who you're talking to.
Hope you'll stay, I think you're a lovely fit for the group.
Regards,
Lisa in AR

Today had my steak bits with husbands leftover bourbon mushrooms and onions, plus the parmesan topping with the shrimp. It was delightful! Now sipping my daily 17 oz carafe of tea. Today was a success and my body processed yesterdays food just fine! I know tmi! Its nice when my body responds well. Definitely eating to live, not living to eat these days. Gone are the elaborate meals of gastronomic proportions. Now I just pick a protein, add a veggie or fruit, then maybe a small carb and I am done. I have those 6 packages of pizza in the freezer that I will probably just throw out on garbage day. Too greasy and full of calories that don't really serve me. Ok, who am I? 😂

Worked then went to WalMart. See, lately I’ve been having this dry cough so I wanted to get more cough medicine. Then to a senior center. I know they do all sorts of crafts and I had some of these dowels so I gave them to them. Then a pool store since we need this one clamp, only they only have clamps for 1-1/2 inch pipes and ours is a 2” pipe
Allie – you reminded me of all the times I slept on my grandmother’s porch and just looked at the NY skyline. She had a great view. You don’t need melatonin...you have the waves.
Went to bowling then took a walk around the block. Just got home and it really started to rain. Got home in the nick of time.
Put a load of laundry in earlier, now that it’s dry I need to put it away
Lanette – one time I had a rental car that had lots of bells and whistles. Actually, I found some of them to be distracting. Like it had this pop-up screen in front of the driver to tell you your speed. To me, I would rather see the road.
Kylia – a while ago two of our cats caught a mouse. they made a “ring” with their front legs. They’d bat it around until the poor mouse was dead. Then they got up and moved away. Their “toy” was broken….sob
Vince wants to cut the grass tomorrow. Hope it isn’t too wet
Confession time: I pigged out on these chocolate covered blueberries. Really, they weren’t even that good. But the positive is that I threw out the remainder.
Pip – among other things, you are so talented. Great job

falling behind yet again.
Weekend went well-no drama.
Had a dr. appointment this morning. Got my bone density test done. The doctor had said they usually wait until 65 but because of family history she went ahead and referred me. The tech said it would take 2-3 days to get the results. I had a email from my doctor less than 3 HOURS later- Osteoporosis with fracture risk- putting me on extra calcium and D plus a weekly med.
Glad I didn't wait another 2 yrs before being checked. The results had a bunch of numbers- need to look them up and see if it shows how bad it is.younger sister is in the hospital with fractured vertibrates from a fall. They thought she was being released today to go to mom's house(mom is NOT thrilled- the two do not get along very well-sister is a bit bossy, especially when she drinks a bit too much which is most of the time). Mom went to get her and they said she was in no shape to be discharged- in so much pain she looked like she was having seizures. They told mom yesterday they caught her trying to give herself extra pain meds.
Going to mom's is not the best option but she can't go back up to her 5th wheel trailer that she lives in by herself. For those of you who crochet- have you used the extra bulky chenelle blanket yarn?
I haven't crochet in over 40 yrs BUT picked up a big bag of it at Black Friday- 10 skeins of it for $4. Couldn't pass it up.Need to feed the cats and get ready for class. Should get dishes done if I have time. They never seem to end!
Debbie
Napa Valley,CA4 -
Debbie - I have used the cheniele yarn twice now, once for a throw and once for a baby blanket. Can be hard sometimes to see the stiches because it is so fuzzy but by and large not bad to work with and the finished product is so soft.
Pip - That project turned out amazing.
Kim - Hope things continue to improve with your sight.
Went to chair yoga this morning. When I got home found out I had a committee meeting at church this evening to interview applicants for the church secretary position. Out of 4 scheduled 1 showed up. Two had already accepted other jobs and one was at the hospital ED with her son who broke his arm skateboarding. Of course the one left was the last one scheduled so we ended up sitting around chatting for 2 hours. I got invited to go pick cherries at a fellow choir member's house. Apparently this is a really good year for cherries here, also rhubarb. Everyone is giving it away. I probably should get some as I could freeze it.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

John was very panicky last night before bed, but i think he turned his light out before midnight. I suggested he write it all down, or draw it. He does find reading helps. He is resistant to any suggestion of music, or sounds.
The Salade Niçoise was just heavenly, and perfect for the warm weather. I added a few new potatoes, mainly for John. Our dessert for the last few days has been cooked apricots.
Annie - the goat's cheese tart is wonderful. I got the recipe from a cookery demonstration at Cercle Francais. The large wholemeal tortilla as a base saves a lot of calories over pastry, especially the puff they use. Of course, it could be made without any base at all. I use, as a quiche tin, a beautiful tinned copper 'Tarte Tatin' dish, that is made in some special village in France. V expensive, but it gives me enormous pleasure each time I use it. It's the 'real deal'. 🤩
In October, we are going on a Saga cruise to the Canary Islands. We've not been there before, and it takes you to quite a few of them. Currently there are big protests about overtourism, but I hope it might have calmed down by them. I have every sympathy. Our cruise ship is very 'boutique', less than a thousand passengers, and we are all old and respectful! (It's for over 50s only, and most are over 70). John and I are seasoned cruisers, all on Saga, which is 'no-fly', and transports you to the ship from your front door. No suitcase lugging. I had to cancel two cruises last year, because of my two hip replacements, so it will be over two years since we had any kind of holiday. On the way we stop at Madeira, which we have been to before, and, on the way back we stop at Cadiz, which has been on my bucket list for years. The Canary Islands are fully Spanish, and considered part of Europe, although they are off the coast of Africa. I have been brushing up my pretty good Spanish on Duolingo. I currently have a 276 day streak. Speaking a foreign language is a major part of my holiday for me.
Bea pick up today. I hope my son will collect the tea set I have carefully wrapped up and boxed.
Yesterday I binned an old cheese dish of my mother's. She was very proud of it, and I also displayed it for years, but bits of decoration are falling off it now. Into the dustbin! I also put out, on the doorstep, a box of books for someone on Facebook Marketplace to collect. For some reason, she wanted books. More than happy to oblige. Some were brand new, that were presents, and I have no intention of reading. It was gone 25 minutes later! Magic!
Love to all. LOVE your work, Pip. Gorgeous for your patio!

Pip I am so intrigued by Zwift and ROUVY and all that. I get on my stationary bike and ride to music, but I would be motivated by the social and competitive aspects. At least I think so. But I'm not quite convinced to spend the money on the setup, and I don't have a place to put it here. Just dreaming!
Annie,
My husband and I both have Zwift memberships and were all set up in our former house. If all goes well, I'm hoping we'll be set up here soon too.
I am able to both cycle and walk/run using Zwift.
To set it all up:
We had the trainers for our bicycles. I've had mine since about 2002 or so!
We had bicycles for the trainers. I use an older road bicycle.
We bought inexpensive TVs (one each), Apple TV devices, the connection things on the bicycle, and a heart rate monitor.
And of course the Zwift membership.
For the treadmill:
I got a different heart rate monitor that tracks cadence and then I was able to connect in.
Unfortunately, I can't connect my rowing machine into Zwift yet, but I think they might be working on something.
I wouldn't mind getting a good quality commercial spin bike … not an exercise bike, but a spin bike along the lines of the one below. Spin bikes ride like fixed gear bicycles, and generally have a more realistic feel. But they are expensive here. That one below is normally $1400 but on sale right now for $950. Too much for us right now.

Yesterday's walk and today's walk. 😊
Today was also my 8th swimming lesson!!
I am doing a version of freestyle without a kick board now. I say "a version of" because I can do about 10 metres all right, then I start thinking about it. I think about whether or not I'm kicking and when I do that, I stop breathing. Then I think that I should probably breathe at some point and remember that I'm supposed to breathe in on the side where my arm is back. Then I start thinking about where my arms are and what they're doing. And eventually I end up raising my head and sucking in water and air and then end up coughing a while.
Eventually I'll get it together. I hope.

😀 Pip, you are talented. Thanks for sharing the before and after of your latest project.
😀 Annie, I have a recumbent exercise bike that has been in the living room for years. It's set up with a table next to it and faces the TV. Over the years I've read, knitted, watched TV, and listened to audio books and podcasts while riding it. It's "my chair" in the living room like other people have a couch or recliner. It's not vigorous exercise like Pip or Machka have with their more sophisticated bikes but it's a lot more exercise than sitting on the couch.
😀 Lisa, I admire your ability to explain how to do things on this thread.
😀 Heather, your upcoming Saga cruise sounds great. Sorry John is feeling panicky again.
😀 Debbie, I don't know what kind of weekly med the doctor put you on, but the doctor put me on something weekly about five years ago and it made an improvement in my bone density. Like you I was active and ate well , but I had family history of osteoporosis.
😀 Allie when you went to Cape Cod, I as reading a book set somewhere on Cape Cod. Now that you're in New Hampshire, I'm reading a book set in New Hampshire.
😀 Music has always helped me through the tough time. I have the TV on all the time at home now playing music when I'm not watching a program. Yesterday I heard a line in a song about how loud the silence was and it made sense to me.
😱 Yesterday during a meeting on Zoom the camera on the new computer stopped working . I tried to troubleshoot with no results. Boo hoo. I'll see if it corrects itself at the meeting this morning and if not, I'll take the computer to the guy who fixed it the time the sound quit working. I don't mind that it will cost money to fix, I just don't want to have to drive to the place to drop it off and then drive back another time to get it. Yes, this is definitely a luxury problem. I have a cameral that I can plug in, but it's not as satisfactory as the one installed in the computer.
😀 Our most recent cars since 2017 have had lots of safety bells and whistles, many that I probably don't know about, but I appreciate the back up camera and the various ways to make sure that I can see who is around me when I change lanes. I like cruise control. The first time I had to drive after dark when Jake was in the hospital, I was delighted that the bright lights turned themselves on and off in response to oncoming traffic. On the other hand when daylight savings time came and I didn't know how to change the clock, I decided to leave it alone and not even try to change it. I especially like the feature that allows me to listen to my own music from my phone on the car speakers. I could do hands free phone calling but I don't and won't.
😀 We got up early and now Annie is asleep on my feet under the table and Bessie is asleep behind my chair. The TV is is playing videos of my favorite songs. When I get up to take my shower, Bessie will stay where she is but Annie will come to lie down on the bath mat while I'm in the shower then move to the mat by the sink where I stand to get dressed.

Good morning my friends!
Heather I looked up the Canary Islands. I didn't realize they have more people than Hawaii! There is so much out there that I haven't seen.
Debbie I got an osteopenia diagnosis last week. So I bought some D3 with K2 vitamins. I need to look at Calcium too. And I'm thinking about quitting my horseback riding. I will miss it, but I really don't want to mess up my spine.
Rebecca good job drinking water!
Pip and Machka thanks for the info about setting up for Zwift or something. Maybe in my next house. This one is still full of my parents' stuff.
Machka I looked at jobs a little, and that points to Java and Python. But I bought a book for the phone programming on Dart and Flutter. So that's me dipping my toe back in the pool. Or maybe I shouldn't say that until I have actually read the book!
So my main challenge now is to keep up with dishes cooking and laundry with this goshdarn boot. Don't look at my kitchen Lol!
May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Morning, kiddos, from the still damp Arkansas Valley, with a little light rain expected this afternoon and more than an inch of rain expected tomorrow… 🌦️I'm just so pleased! 😑 Can you tell? 😂
Medica-lala-palooza:
Trying to walk that usual tightrope from every year at this time of year…. I have to let the sun come up and dry SOME of the dew off the grass so I can get the mower to actually cut through it instead of bogging down.
But that requires the temperature to come up as well… and once it's past 80 (27 C) I'm genuinely ill from the heat. Bless him, my tough-as-nails husband sometimes looks at me when I say that like I picked a random temperature setting out of a hat, but that's more than a few years of experience talking. And honestly, I don't feel like falling over in the yard just to prove it to him, so I head inside before it gets that far.
It's just the heart medication that does this, and it's a titch annoying, in all honesty. 😑 Not like I have any choice but to take it. Would really appreciate some GOOD side effects for a change, though… 😂
Tomorrow is back to the gastro doctor for me, and I should be getting there about the time the rain starts in the afternoon. This is the lab results from the biopsies taken of my colon last month and to get an EGD scheduled, most likely.
And got a call Friday that they can squeeze me in for a shoulder MRI on Friday morning. Since the VA was backed up for more than 45 days, I was able to get them to pay for me to go to an MRI facility in Fort Smith, a half hour away. Yay!
And I'm ready to find out what's going on. My shoulder woke me up at least five times last night, just shifting slightly in the bed. Fingers crossed for inflammation that can be resolved with therapy and maybe a shot.
Really not up to the thought of surgery.
Barbie - thank you for that! I wrote a lot of training manuals over the years. I tend to the wordy side of things, but I enjoy making things understandable if I can.
For those who are new - I tend to put things in spoilers because that way my posts don't just go on and on forever, and they're usually around a single subject, so easy to break off in their own section. If I put it in a spoiler, I don't expect you to read it when you're just skimming through, I promise.
And, it's up to 74 degrees and rising fast… but my gut has finally slowed down, I think. Fingers crossed! Time to go see what trouble I can get into with a battery-operated mower in grass that still isn't dry…
Later, my dears,
Love,
Lisa in AR4 -
Lisa you might have to clear mower of clippings as you go and clean at the end because those clippings can harden and effect how well your mower works. I learned last week with the battery powered mowers there is some piece that can burn out if blade does not spin freely. I had to do this last on mine when I had to mow at 7 in morning because of window installers coming!

Finally able to use peg board to hang garden tools… I had too much in this corner to use it. The brightly colored squares were from my classroom days. I like how they brighten the space. They will act as padding to help my legs and feet on the concrete floor. Underneath is where I store my bins that has yard fertilizer. I also have a small bench I will have available if I choose to sit and do my potting. The line in the top photo is from the siding of the neighbor next door. I will paint the frame in August when I do other painting. They used poplar which is a good wood to paint.
5 -
Posting the pictures reminded me I had this bench. I washed it up and it works perfect in this space. It will be so nice to be able to sit as I pot up my plants!

Loved seeing all the great experiences and enthusiasm on this thread towards a better healthy lifestyle.
My journey restarted June 1 tracking meals and staying in the 1200 calorie mark daily along with aquatic fitness 90 minutes a day and walking for 30. I’ve utilized this app before over the past 7 years at different times and have had success. I wasn’t involved in the communities here but why not!
looking forward to supporting you and this health journey.

Ann in VA - Glad you're here! Yes, everyone here is aimed at healthy lives, trying to find our personal ways, picking and choosing from each others' best advice for what suits our own life and style. We've just all come to realize that diet and exercise aren't the only thing, but they're an important part of our overall health… That's what brought us here, and this group of like-minded women is why we stay. Welcome!
Margaret - I appreciate the advice, dear, as it's a constant issue here. I had to clean the mower out every few minutes while mowing, and then afterward, too. The grass was so thick and so wet that I went through a battery that usually last 45 minutes in just 25, and one that lasts almost 45 minutes in the trimmer only made it about eight minutes in the mower.
At left is the ditch in front of the little house before I began mowing it - I didn't get a picture of the before on the ditch area that I finished at right, but that was grown up knee high and I was in knee-high boots, thank goodness. So is the picture at left, but hard to tell, because it's a really deep ditch!
Didn't get a picture of the left hand ditch after I finished, because the battery died before I even got a third of the way through! It looks like somebody wandered off in the middle of a bad haircut, honestly. 💇🏻♀️💈😂 Ah well, the batteries are charging, and I'll tackle it all tomorrow again, if I get my internal batteries charged enough.
So… I'm back in the house, and can literally feel my hair dripping sweat on my shirt - sitting on a towel so I don't ruin my desk chair.
In those 45 minutes - burned more than 300 calories, got more than 3,000 steps. Well worth the doing. When I walked back in the house, the thermometer said 80 degrees in the back yard… my batteries are apparently calibrated to my internal temperature sensor! Ha! 😂
Time to relax and drink liquid until I can cool down and quit dripping. Then a shower. Then, who knows what the day holds?
Always an adventure…
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR6 -
Therapist today, not much else. Bad night last night. DH was in a very bad mood which upset me. He apologized, which was unusual, but I still didn’t talk to him before bed last night. He’s better today and acting like nothing happened. Men!!!
Thought for today:

😀 Margaret, thanks for the suggestion about the battery powered mower. I'll check mine before I mow again. Your garage corner looks great. I, too, have some brightly colored stuff from my classroom days.
😀 Ann from VA, glad you are here. I read this thread every morning while I eat my breakfast to remind me that I am not alone on my journey. I've been doing this for a long time and it works.
😍 Rita, sorry you let yourself get so stressed by your husband's behaviour. It's hard to ignore.

Sometimes (not often) I wonder what the neighbors think when they drive past and a little chunky old lady is out pushing a lawn mower around and sweating like mad…
And in all honesty, it's self-propelled, so it's often dragging me around rather than me pushing it.
And then I realize that, much like anything else they see, they can just stop looking if they don't like it.
And then I channel my beloved mother, and I remember that I also don't give a tiny rat's patoot what anyone thinks about anything I do. Her comment was usually, "If they keep looking, they deserve what they get."
Throw in knee-high wellies, and you're looking at me outside, sweaty to the waist. If you throw in a battered old gardening hat with a wide brim, you're looking at my mother.
Cheers!
Love,
Lisa in AR9 -
Evelyn thanks for the MAID info. Is that like Hospice here in the US?
Mo I love aqua Zumba but alas none offered nearby. There are water aerobics and our town’s outdoor pool but it is too cool for me ;}
Lorna your DH’s Maine pics are stunning. Thanks!
Rebecca no sense of smell? In some cases that might be a blessing ;}
Lisa thanks for the reminder, updated the “Just in case” binder’s who-to-call spreadsheet. Like you, we relish our quiet life/being curmudgeonly, so turned our two “spare” bedrooms into Joe’s man cave and my study. Fingers X’d for favorable MRI and PT referral. I’m a big fan, it saved me from shoulder surgery last year.
Terri two hundred pounds off the ticket price? WOW!!!
Sue I see for “Clarkson’s Farm” is on Amazon Prime, I’ll have to watch it in the man cave, the TV I watch in the living room is not internet connected.
Kim had to smile at you giving the nurse a heart attack by standing on one leg to pull up pants. Your positive attitude is inspiring. Yes to your god daughter’s recommendations, keeping the blood and oxygen moving is so crucial to healing. Hooray for nephew’s GF Kass. Bravissima!
Beth hoping the family situation has calmed.
Machka hope you dodged the COVID bullet. “Clear out the fridge” and the freezer, and the pantry too ;} but feeling dizzy when hungry IS a problem. Sounds like severe drop in blood sugar. ((hugs))
Barbie, neither of those brands showed in Amazon, but took the chance ordered the stainless steel hose. Also a new pair of rubber boots as my 30+ year old Wellies got all hard and cracked. The sit-to-stands are more like hip hinges than squats. The key to protecting the knees is to stick the butt as far back as you can, making sure the knees never go forward beyond the toes. None of them are really easy, but we do what we can… AND despite what I told Lisa, I’d love for you to come visit. We have lots of room for the dogs to play and you could come with me to line dancing. C’mon down!
Michele thanks for the Reclast info. Still researching and debating…
Heather so glad DDIL wants your grandmother’s tea set, will be a beautiful part of family history for the girls. Cocoa in your coffee set gives great purpose. Bravo to Johnny for the surprise gift. Delighted to hear about your planned cruise, it’s been a loooong time.
Lanette you are so right about sugar and carbs triggering the hungries. I struggle to get in more than 60 g protein, which could explain a lot… Thanks for the “feathering” technique for chicken breasts
Rita How dairy! LOL! Glad you’re feeling better. I’d never heard of Harry Potter popcorn, just as well imho.
Kylia yours about habits, how some flow/stick and some are a struggle. I have better luck when I link a new one I want to incorporate to something I do just naturally… like the potty sit-to-stands ;} Thanks for the walking backward recommendation, will include with my Jeopardy walking. What you said about bells and whistles promoting less attentive driving. Prayers for a successful procedure.
Tracey your anniversary dinner sounds lovely. It would have cost more like USD100 here, eating out has become so very $pendy. Fortunately Joe is not interested in dining out, so I only indulge in a lunch with gal friends every few months. Still I about choke to pay more than USD30 for lunch. ;{ Love the tree stump planter. Hmm…
Allie so thankful to hear Sean is starting his new job. Fingers Xd
Annie “Remember that the target is safe enough. The idea of perfectly totally safe is imaginary . . . “ Truth, this. Make sure your calcium has magnesium with it, in a 2:1 proportion e.g 500 mg Calcium to 250 mg Magnesium.
Elaine, if I have time, I keep Word open and type in responses as I go, but if not, well then I just whoosh loving responses as I scan. Some use the quote function to respond specifically to a post.
Pip I’m in awe of your creativity. That enhanced lantern is beautiful and eye catching!
Debbie does your younger sister have osteoporosis too? When her pain eases, would she consider PT to help her vertebrae heal?
Sue I’m jealous of your cherries opportunity. Love them but avoid the commercially grown ones due the pesticide residues.
Margaret, couldn’t follow that link, took me to a Gmail ad. LOVE your potting bench/area.
Welcome @annross66 Ann in VA ! Your ambitious activity plan is inspiring! Logging every bite, lick or sip has been key for me, along with a food scale. Eye-opening ;)
Wanted to tell about not looking as fat as I think, and Dr appt but pooches tell me I’m late with tummy time so . . .
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Lisa I feel your pain in the mowing…we are having same issue here because of the wet pattern we are in. Sounds like you were already aware of wet grass syndrome. It is a pain to have to keep stopping and remove that icky grass. I keep a couple of sticks handy to help in the process.
I am in a reuse found things mood. On walk with Drew found the beach sign on the freeby curb. I debated to grab it. My brother is a level 12 hoarder so taking something like this makes me think of him and think twice. If it did not fit with what I had in mind I decided I would put it in donation pile. The difference I had idea how I would use it. Unfortunately he grabs things off the curb and just throws it into his hoard mix never to see the light of day for years and possibly by then it will be ruined and have to be thrown out. I bought the pot years ago at salvation army and the shell came from one of my husband's trips before we married. I wanted a focal point on my porch that did not interfere with the door. This set up reminds how much fun it was to see the oceans and sticking my feet into Lake Michigan on the recent trip with son. Pip and others here inspired me to try it.
Barbara you probably saw the first time I tried to share my garage corner I went back and fixed the issues so the pictures came up without having to click on a link.

Hello
Today was a long day.. we drove an hour and a 1/2 up to Seans court appearance, the public defender showed up right as the called him to the stand,so he will get something in the mail to come up again...
Depending when he gets called again I might come back up to take him back up..we shall see.
I am beat and I leave in the morning to go back home

Barbara, we have hospice also, for folks who are going out on natures schedule. With MAID a medical professional comes to a place of your choosing, some do a hospital setting others prefer to be at home, and they assist your passing. I’m not sure what they use, I assume it’s an extra strong dose of something that will put you to sleep. It’s apparently painless and if a person has no hope of recovery this gives them a choice of when and where and can prevent needless suffering. It’s still pretty new here and there are many hoops to jump thru in order to be approved.
Tracey, how are things coming along with Lauryn’s friend? Such an impossible situation for all concerned, my heart goes out to the family.
Pip the dragonfly lantern looks great!
Heather, so happy that ddil wanted the dishes, so nice when it can get passed down to someone who will love it. Your upcoming cruise sounds lovely!
Kylia and Annie, good to see you pop in and Rori too!
I think when cats are well fed they won’t eat the mice, just basically torture them til they’re dead. My cat always wanted to bring us snakes. He also brought us a bird once, hubby thought it was dead, he corralled kids and cat and I got to deal with the bird. It wasn’t anywhere near dead so when I went to scoop it up with the dustpan it started flying around in our kitchen. It was quite a picture, one terrified bird, two excited kids, two concerned adults and one very po’d cat, lol. We did finally catch the bird and got it outside, I put it on an ornamental spruce type shrub so it could gather its equilibrium and when I checked on it later it was gone. Hopefully it went on to live a happy, long life….
Many more comments I wanted to make, I really should take notes when I’m reading!
I got the nail removed from the big toe on my right foot last Thursday. The Dr was pleased with how the left one is healing and I was pleased with how little this one hurt when the freezing came out! The first was quite painful. I have another ten days or so til I can put on closed toed shoes, so exercise has been a bit of a bust lately. I’m hoping to make it more of a priority when the time comes. Right now I’m concentrating on making sure the toes heal properly!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the new gals!
