I'm much more on track this week. I'm proud of my choices yesterday:
- Healthy food selection at lunch —> We went out for lunch with my husband's family, I looked at the menu ahead of time, selected my choice and then stuck to it at the restaurant. Ordered a Quinoa Power Bowl (quinoa, black beans, chick peas, avocado, corn, mixed greens, goat cheese and a lime vinaigrette). While my husband, MIL and niece had a hamburger and fries. But I think I might have inspired a few others around me, because the three sitting closest to me all ordered a salad variation!
- Dialed in dessert —> My SIL brought freshly picked Niagara strawberries. We had some after dinner, we did add a little sugar and a dollop of whipped cream. But what I'm proud about is that we have chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce in the fridge and we didn't have either of those.
Overall, I'm staying pretty close to my current 1770 calorie IN target. Yesterday, I missed it by a mere 70 calories and we had wine with dinner! Usually, when we have wine with dinner, we'll also have another glass after dinner, but we didn't yesterday.
Yesterday was active recovery day in my workout program, so calories OUT weren't as high. Also, 150 minutes in the car and 120 minutes at lunch took a big bite out of my normal NEAT calorie expenditure. We still walked the dog.
I'm grateful today that the scale is reflecting my pride of yesterday's choices. I know one day doesn't define us, but my mood is good and that becomes a positive reinforcement loop.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

Day 29—06/12— 141.2 - Down a touch from yesterday. Power went out downtown and I almost got out early from my second job, then it came back on. 19 more days now until 1 day off. I can do it : - ) 2 jobs today.
Day 30—06/13— 140.6 - Rushing this morning.
Day 31—06/14— 140.6 - I was home from work just after 6pm and worked in the garden until almost dark out. I opted for hummus and water crackers + the last of my fresh asparagus from last week's farmer's market for "dinner". So glad that I got the asparagus while it was at the end of the season. Weighed quite early this morning, no bathroom trip as of yet. I do feel leaner this morning, but the scale doesn't reflect it. Burned more calories than I took in yesterday including hours in the yard, fitness marshall, plus always lots of steps waitressing. The "in 5 weeks" comment always just teases me. My calories in are usually somewhere between 1100 and 1200. Missed breakfast completely yesterday trying to get things done in the morning before work since I have zero days off to get stuff done. Stanley Cup playoffs game 5 tonight, surely I burn some calories with all of the anxiety of that lol. I had better add some beans to whatever I am going to have for dinner later, my Fiber intake could be better. They do help with protein, but pretty much all protein elevates the Fat column.
Day 32—06/15— 140.4 - Long day ahead at work, and I was up way too early. All good. I have a few things that I would like to accomplish this morning, including breakfast, which I missed for a couple of days. Egg whites with 1/2 a slice of swiss cheese and one piece of toast is on the menu. Sunday morning breakfast. Happy Father's Day to the fathers.
Day 33—06/16— 138.4 - Everything takes a few days to register on the scale. Lots of days of burning more than I took in showing up now? Calculated my hours this past 2 weeks, 106.5 egad! 15 days now until a day off, so past the halfway mark of the 35 straight. Yesterday was 10 hours and I ate quite late, but really had to eat. I took lots of food to work but didn't get much of a chance to eat much. I did eat my strawberries and my yoghurt/granola thing.
Day 34—06/17— 139.2 - Up .8 today. Light workday, I will be off at 3 and then go hard in the garden until the hockey game. Stats are good. I did miss breakfast though.
I like to share my MFP thing once in awhile, here was yesterday's (should have lost weight, not gained, but whatever). Output was greater than input.

My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

Foodie DD and DGS left last night and I immediately proceeded to finish off all of the off-limit snacks that were left behind. Why, Donna, why? It felt like self-sabotage not hunger. Their snacks are all gone now so I anticipate a good day today. We are expecting very HOT temps today. I’ll be staying inside so there is zero change of restaurant food today. For me, that’s a very good thing. DGS is doing well since surgery but still in a lot of pain. He is able to get up walking just a bit in the hospital now. Maybe home tomorrow. Happy Tuesday!
@deepwoodslady , I live alone and I still buy snacks that aren't all that great for me. But I eat them very sparingly. I wish I could buy snack cakes and pies, but I opt for Milanos and wafer cookies. I had to stop buying cheese balls....they were too easy to go crazy with.
Day 29—06/12— 170 - I have stopped taking my daytime insulin and doubled up on my metformin dose, as per my Endo. Been tracking my before and 2 hour post meal blood sugar and it is within healthy parameters. It would be nice not to have to take insulin 4 times a day anymore....we shall see.
Day 30—06/13— 168.8 - Just had lunch...cheesedogs (no buns) and a salad. Dinner I have not yet decided. Supposed to be another dreary weekend here....sigh…
Day 31—06/14— 168.8 - Had eggs and sausage for breakfast, with a slice of banana bread and small glass of OJ to take my pills. Not having lunch. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs.
Day 32—06/15— 169.6 - Felt off this morning. Forced myself to eat a breakfast of a granola bar and OJ. Also brewed a huge mug of Earl Grey and kept my water bottle close by. I am fine now....maybe was dehydrated? Only thing I got done today was my dishwasher run. These grey rainy days need to go, even if I am saving money not running the a/c.
Day 33—06/16— 169.6 - Hit another plateau, but that's ok. I got through the past ones. ..I will get through this one, too. I already had my big meal for lunch so dinner will be a snack.
Day 34—06/17— 168.6 - Today I turn 71. I celebrated by getting a turkey club salad and a brownie at Saladworks. My meal for the day. I will just drink some tea later. My sugar is understandably up but I will keep an eye on it.

Still tracking good for 189 goal. I am really pleased I am losing around ~1.75 lbs a week, but I suspect it should reduce to 1.5 lbs a week once my body metabolism slows down a bit.
This is my image of the Andromeda Galaxy, this is the largest Galaxy in the Local Group of Galaxies, it is 2.5 million light years away, and is falling towards the Milky Way. This galaxy is about 3 times the mass of the Milky Way, and we may merge in about 4.5 billion years, a few studies have shown it is about 40% change of a miss, so enjoy the ride!

Week 5 Ending Weight: 143.6Day 29—06/12— 143.4. Another stressful day, where I just didn't feel like eating much. There's just a lot going on right now. Long walk. No gym, I fell asleep on the couch around 8pm instead.
Day 30—06/13—141.6. Wow, what a drop. I feel a lot less bloated. Food was good, walk but no gym.
Day 31—06/14— 141.9. Food was okay, but lazy day- no walk or run. I'm planning to get a lot done this weekend. Chores and errands, as well as a couple of long runs, healthy grocery shopping and meal prep.
Day 32—06/15— 143.3. I did a 10 mile run (my longest run yet!!) which made me super hungry the rest of the day. So I ate. Probably a little too much. I'm really proud of my running.
I did a little bit of cleaning, but was a pretty lazy day otherwise. I didn't get around to grocery shopping and meal prep, but I'm hoping I can be a bit productive today before my FIL comes over for Father's Day dinner.
Day 33—06/16— 142.9. I did a 5 mile run in the morning. Food was okay. I seem to have fallen out of the habit of tracking, though, so I don't know exactly how I'm doing with food. I need to start back up again.
Day 34—06/17— 142.7. Food was okay, not great. I went for a long walk, no gym. It was just an okay day, nothing special.
Day 35—06/18— 143.6. Darn it. I was under my goal most of the week, but not today! I stopped tracking food somewhere along the way, so I really should get back to that. But food was okay but not great. Long walk, my no gym.

If I were like most of you, I'd say I met my week 5 goal. But I use my 7 day average, so I'm still a bit away from it, but definitely making progress this week. I'm keeping my week 6 goal the same 145. I did some really gentle yoga before bed yesterday and feel like I slept much better. We are camping again Friday to Tuesday. I know what I need to do to maintain this recent loss while camping … don't drink alcohol every day! For some reason, we think nothing of drinking a glass or two of wine or having a mixed drink every day while camping. When we are at home, we have usually follow a 'weekends only' rule.Week 5 start weight 146.9

Homemade enchiladas are my kryptonite. My husband made two large trays of those on Monday. The aroma was out of this world, so I lost my mind.
I told my husband that it was his job to finish the leftovers while I'm at work today because I will always find it worth it to throw my goals out the window if there are homemade enchiladas in the fridge.
I'll be able to go back to my regularly scheduled programming once that's done. I have to have a better week next week or that graph's trendline is going to flatten out even more. I'll be bummed!

I am a morning radio show listener. This morning there were questions from children. One of them was about what happens if we eat a lego. It comes out intact within 3 days. The doctor talked about things that we ingest that our bodies do not recognize/use. Some of course require instant trips to the hospital, like button batteries which destroy our tracts inside of our bodies and have to be removed quickly.
All of this made me think about eating foods that don't serve or fortify us. So much industrialized food available with zero nutrition, most with a great deal of calories. Garbage in garbage out right? Limiting those things to only once in awhile is better for our health, in my opinion.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Day 29—06/12— 141.2 - Down a touch from yesterday. Power went out downtown and I almost got out early from my second job, then it came back on. 19 more days now until 1 day off. I can do it : - ) 2 jobs today.
Day 30—06/13— 140.6 - Rushing this morning.
Day 31—06/14— 140.6 - I was home from work just after 6pm and worked in the garden until almost dark out. I opted for hummus and water crackers + the last of my fresh asparagus from last week's farmer's market for "dinner". So glad that I got the asparagus while it was at the end of the season. Weighed quite early this morning, no bathroom trip as of yet. I do feel leaner this morning, but the scale doesn't reflect it. Burned more calories than I took in yesterday including hours in the yard, fitness marshall, plus always lots of steps waitressing. The "in 5 weeks" comment always just teases me. My calories in are usually somewhere between 1100 and 1200. Missed breakfast completely yesterday trying to get things done in the morning before work since I have zero days off to get stuff done. Stanley Cup playoffs game 5 tonight, surely I burn some calories with all of the anxiety of that lol. I had better add some beans to whatever I am going to have for dinner later, my Fiber intake could be better. They do help with protein, but pretty much all protein elevates the Fat column.
Day 32—06/15— 140.4 - Long day ahead at work, and I was up way too early. All good. I have a few things that I would like to accomplish this morning, including breakfast, which I missed for a couple of days. Egg whites with 1/2 a slice of swiss cheese and one piece of toast is on the menu. Sunday morning breakfast. Happy Father's Day to the fathers.
Day 33—06/16— 138.4 - Everything takes a few days to register on the scale. Lots of days of burning more than I took in showing up now? Calculated my hours this past 2 weeks, 106.5 egad! 15 days now until a day off, so past the halfway mark of the 35 straight. Yesterday was 10 hours and I ate quite late, but really had to eat. I took lots of food to work but didn't get much of a chance to eat much. I did eat my strawberries and my yoghurt/granola thing.
Day 34—06/17— 139.2 - Up .8 today. Light workday, I will be off at 3 and then go hard in the garden until the hockey game. Stats are good. I did miss breakfast though.
Day 35—06/18— 141.6 - Ouch! I had a short shift yesterday, so spent many hours working in the yard after that. I always see an uptick after that, which usually goes back down over the course of 3 days or so. I am aiming for 130.0 or less by my September birthday, the weight that I was at for my birthday in 2022.

Day 29—06/12— 170 - I have stopped taking my daytime insulin and doubled up on my metformin dose, as per my Endo. Been tracking my before and 2 hour post meal blood sugar and it is within healthy parameters. It would be nice not to have to take insulin 4 times a day anymore....we shall see.

Day 31—06/14— 168.8 - Had eggs and sausage for breakfast, with a slice of banana bread and small glass of OJ to take my pills. Not having lunch. Dinner will be spaghetti and meatballs.
Day 32—06/15— 169.6 - Felt off this morning. Forced myself to eat a breakfast of a granola bar and OJ. Also brewed a huge mug of Earl Grey and kept my water bottle close by. I am fine now....maybe was dehydrated? Only thing I got done today was my dishwasher run. These grey rainy days need to go, even if I am saving money not running the a/c.
Day 33—06/16— 169.6 - Hit another plateau, but that's ok. I got through the past ones. ..I will get through this one, too. I already had my big meal for lunch so dinner will be a snack.
Day 34—06/17— 168.6 - Today I turn 71. I celebrated by getting a turkey club salad and a brownie at Saladworks. My meal for the day. I will just drink some tea later. My sugar is understandably up but I will keep an eye on it.
Day 35—06/18— 168.4 - Well, I did it! But tonight is my real birthday celebration so I know I know the scale will reflect that tomorrow. And that's ok....I am still progressing.

My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

I finally fell off about 8:00 this morning and woke at noon hitting the floor running as we were going out of town to see DGS who is home now recovering from the surgery. Did shopping and dinner out while out of town also. I will likely wait until day after tomorrow to weigh as tomorrow’s will be a disaster after travel and restaurant and (hopefully) not a true reflection of where I really am. I’ll figure out how to incorporate all this into my personal 0.7 goal tomorrow. I’m just too tired tonight.
