Well I couldn't make my water challenge goal for @LittleSurferGirl7. I was on my 5th glass of the 8 glasses of water yesterday and then……….you know……..we went out for a bite to eat for dinner. 1500 calories later I couldn't stomach another glass. Excuses. I know.
But I'm not giving up. Today is another hot day. I can do it if I pay attention and time myself. I hope @Corina1143 is still in with us. She didn't commit to 8 glasses. She committed to water only for today. But that's still a great goal. Deepwoodslady? You still in?
64 ounces if water today. I know I can do it! GO! @LittleSurferGirl7 .

I'm on my third 20 0z bottle. I don't pay attention because when I have in the past, I always drink about 150% of what they recommended. I plan to work in the yard tonight, so I'm pretty sure I'll go over 80 oz.
This is a good challenge for me. Just an eye opener. I didn't realize that while I was fixing my coffee or tea, I would grab a cracker or a few nuts. No preparation to water so no snack.
At this stage, every single calorie counts.

Finished yesterday with about 120 oz water. It was harder than I thought it would be. I missed my chamomile tea. I missed my iced coffee with milk. But it reminded me to drink more plain water. It's good for us! And it was just fine most of the day.

I only got 48 oz of water yesterday. That's 2 days in a row. I'm only just starting for today so it might be the same. @Corina1143 you got almost three times as much as me!!!!!!! That's amazing. Yes, it reminded me how good it is for you. I feel better and it helps moderate my hunger. And it's hot out there. The water cools you down a bit.

I once read you should divide your weight in half and drink that many ounces of water. So 160 lb person should drink 80 oz of water per day. I don't drink nearly that much but I do try to drink as much as I can.

@SunnyDays930 That's interesting. I'm definitely not getting enough. I had a medical incident last month that was exacerbated by being dehydrated. So this is really good for me. Plus I feel better and my weight has stabilized.

C/W 135For as long as I can remember I would make these goals as soon as springtime came. I'd say, if you put your mind to it you could lose 10 lbs by 4th of July. Then, of course, I'd be drinking a beer and eating chips on the 4th and thinking, boy you just wasted the last few months.
So next month I'm coming up on my anniversary of joining this group. Thank you all. You really have no idea how grateful I am. I never dreamed I could do this. Now I'm still not convinced I've lost all this weight and can keep it off. Maybe that's good because it makes me pay attention. I have to remember what it felt like to weigh 165. Or what it felt like to be 181 in June, 2016. That's even harder to imagine.
Onward. 2026 is coming up. Be there!!!

I am happy to see 1.6 lbs gone in the past 6 days which really helps my overall numbers. My goal numbers were not adding up due to my math mistake so I have fixed that. My goal remains the same 184.0 at the end of the challenge but that does leave a 5 lb loss needed on the table for July. I’m not sure why I had my June goal so low. Anyway, I can do it if I put my mind to it! Or Can I? There are definitely some challenges including the Holiday Weekend filled with food, my Son’s birthday, my Grandson’s birthday and some upcoming travel. Time to buckle down, if nothing else, at least on EVERY SINGLE day in-between! Life is for the living, so I must confess that I do plan on enjoying those days. No excuses on all others! I’m also on a weight loss journey! Onward and Forward Soldiers!

07/01 –188.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 190.4) Well I was certainly hoping for a bigger drop than 0.2 but I guess slow progress is still progress. It was a very good dietary day filled with good choices and I worked out on the bike for 30 minutes (2 sessions of 15 minutes). Intentional exercise is something I really need to keep working in. Today is my son that lives at home and my first DGS’s birthdays. We will be going out to dinner out of town tonight. Dinner won’t be until about 7:30. I’ve been sticking to my guns and carefully choosing what I’m eating this afternoon. My son is turning 29 and my grandson 19.

Short story 180.8 today. Things went south.
Long story.
When I don't sleep, I eat. I didn't sleep well at all for about a week. During that time, my high weight was about 187(JULY 1). obviously some water. Eating doesn't make me feel more rested or more energetic. That's plain now. But when I'm beyond tired, I forget. i need something to remind me. I really think that one day of drinking only water, no coffee or tea helped. It kept me away from the snacks. No waiting around in the kitchen for the coffee to brew. It reminded me there are healthier, easier alternatives. No need to cook. Easy salads or bagged salads. Yogurt.
TThey say when you define the problem clearly, you're halfway to solving it. I'm very bogged down half way.

It's just strange how we eat when we're not hungry. I can't understand the reason for it. Biologically it make no sense. I know the feeling, Day before yesterday I recognized it. After having my normal breakfast I went on to four more "snacks". It wasn't a lot of food or even bad food. About midday I recognized it. I switched to drinking water which helped a bit. But that whole day was "off". I can't remember most of what I ate. My friend calls it "mouth eating".
The next day I went back to full blown calorie counting. Everything that went in my mouth was counted and I knew it was accurate. I got a sense of relief knowing I could do that. It took away the fear I had.
And today feels better. I know I have control today.

I am satisfied with this weight at the moment. I have traveled for four weeks these past two months. We walked a lot every day and skipped lunches mostly. I ate light breakfasts like yogurt with fruit. This is birthday month for me and many family/friends. So, I may be satisfied with just maintaining my weight this challenge. GW 132 to 135Another week without a gain. This is amazing. But obviously I'm not disappointed.
There are many days when I overeat. I always feel like I'm overeating so when Friday weigh in comes I'm pleasantly surprised that I haven't gained. Obviously I still don't know what I'm doing. Inevitably one of these weeks I'll have a gain. Then I'll feel good if I can rein it in……..stop it before it gets out of control.
@frankwbrown stopped it in its tracks. Five years.
@lclark04957 is only .6 pounds from goal. Look at those dates to appreciate the patience that took.

🎠🎠🎠🎠🎠 07/15 -- 191.0 -✅ (Trend Weight: 191.2) I’ve only dropped on the scale one time in the last 11 days (since 4th of July) and that was only for a hot minute. So this is very welcomed. That holiday (for some strange reason) put me on a drunken binge although no alcohol has been involved. I hope I’ve turned a corner here and will start making some progress again. I’m tired of “staggering around” when I could be making leaps and bounds!

This week I’m going to assume it’s partly water weight because I’d have to consume a lot of calories to gain 4 real pounds in one week.
