Grrrrr not enjoying the scale these days. For July I’m still avoiding red meat and processed meat, and fried foods especially French fries. So I’m eating much better overall. But also have not been moving due to the heat. Heat is totally gone now so hoping to move more now

My watch says I got just over 7 hrs of sleep last night but I was up three times with the smalle dog needing to go out. Sometimes he does that and its not because he has to go to the bathroom usually. Its because he wants to go out there and bark at something, usually a skunk or some other critter lurking around. He tends to be obsessive so he keeps wanting to go back. Nonetheless it wasn't restful 7 hrs.

My hubby purchased one of those vibrating machines you stand on. I just rolled my eyes when it arrived I think the whole concept is suspect but he claims the research he did indicates its really good for us. I stood on it for about 5 minutes to try it out. I haven't dug into what all the benefits are beyond its supposed to help with circulation but so does walking and moving in general so I guess I am hard sell. :) I could see it being helpful for someone who can't be active and has lymphatic issues.

    Happy Friday everyone

Meh. I was hoping it would start dipping into the 209's. Oh well. I might have to go back to the smaller bowl of popcorn at night. Could have been those choco chips too. 🙄

@Kupla71  Does the new scale have a way to recalibrate the sensor? Maybe a button on the bottom that resets it? Also, do you have a weight (like a 5, 10, or 15 lbs dumbbell), that you can set on the scale and see if it's giving an accurate read? We have a pretty old Withings scale — honestly, I'm surprised it's still going strong. But occasionally I have to reset it. I also weigh myself in the exact same spot. I line up the scale with the lines in the tile, so it's in the same place, and I can't blame the floor for a different daily read. I'm just throwing out suggestions.

HappyDonkey75 I see ads for those vibrating balance boards too, and wonder how effective they are. You'll have to let us know if you notice any benefits.

@tishsmith101 Thanks! I’m giving it my best try.

@ManifestingToday I’ll definitely look for a way to reset it. That’s a good idea to weigh a 5 lb weight and see if it’s accurate! I do keep the scale on the same spot on the floor so it can’t be that. Thanks for the suggestions! I will try them for sure.

Happy to see a slight down ward movement on the scale. I’m having another lower calorie day so maybe this trend will continue.

Finally got back to the gym and did a 30 minute strength training workout plus some walking.

Whattttttttt? Arrgh. Hormonally speaking this is my best week for weight loss so I don’t know what is happening. @HappyDonkey75 same here, I’ve been curious about those machines but also skeptical. As someone who has lymphatic issues I wonder if that sort of standing vibration could help. But haven’t seen any concrete research on it

    July: 151.1

July goals: 148.5 (updated) / Cut down on processed foods / increase water / very little sugar / no eating snacks after dinner!

I approached July different as I’m not checking in each day but that doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for each of you having challenges, and/or cheering on your progress. Summer is a season I relish and get to swim with my grandkids a lot! Sometimes a luxurious nap happens in the late afternoon. Right now I am allowing for more R & R because I know in life there is usually something right around the corner that’s going to sweep up all my energy!

Feeling fine after the implant surgery….very little discomfort so that’s a big plus. Just no steak or spicy foods for a while.

Been drinking a lot of water this week and doing better on July goals than last week. Had roasted garden grown zucchini and yellow squash with dinner last night. Love picking and eating them same day!
Breakfast is egg bites from Costco, cantaloupe and coffee with sugar free Torani vanilla syrup.

Going to brush up on calorie deficit today! If anyone is losing regularly please share your recipe for success.

Oh well. Since we're on our Saturday splurge, i'll pick up again on Monday hoping to fall further into 209 territory. I was trying to hide a perimenopause update behind a spoiler tag, and I guess that feature doesn't work anymore either. I don't get why they changed something so functional. I'm on an endless spotty cycle right now, and I know that's some of this weight. I've been doing really well with calories and working out. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and see how things evolve.

    Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Nope! I’m up again. It is TOM though so I guess that is not helping matters. My scale seems to be accurate after a few tests so it’s not that. Could be the increase in exercise. Could be the cake too.

July 8 210 surprised by this number. We just flew to ny and back and i know that can make you bloated. I’m also pms-ing. Need to focus and do better this month.
July 13 209 I have had headaches and migraines all week. I know some of it is from allergies. Hoping this week my head feels better and I’m not so fatigued I can workout.

With everyone on here talking about their scales I’m starting to think there’s something wrong with mine. I’m really disappointed. Meanwhile I’m also going through a bad bout of insomnia which is making it hard to get on the rebounder.

    7/21- 157.6

Went for a nice long walk with the sister yesterday with lot of hills. I am sore in weird places today, the backs of my knee for one, hamstrings are tight and the bottom of my left foot which has been giving me trouble for a few weeks now.

Yesterday was the much anticipated (dreaded?) Family dinner out (likely the cause for the uptick on the scale) We were celebrating my parents anniversary . It was a bit of stress going into this dinner. Some of the siblings have not been on speaking terms for some time now but our parents insisted on us doing this. We all obliged for them but I don't think any of us were thrilled to be there. Everyone mostly kept their mouth shut and avoided any public disaster. I did chime in once and told one sibling they were being mean with some of their comments. I honestly can't remember what was actually being said now but it wasn't kind. Some of the photos taken are hilarious as our faces tell the story.. Oh well, family dynamics are always fun.. Nonetheless I am glad its over with and hopefully we won't need to do anything like that again.

Back to work today and then off Thurs/Friday. It can't come soon enough.

We are sweating it out here. Not shocked on the drop; it was just too miserable to even eat yesterday, and I drank a ton of water. This will be an interesting week.

HappyDonkey75 I'm glad you're on the other side of that family dinner. You can let the negative feelings go and just be with your own family/people, the ones that bring you peace/love.

I’m mortified and thought something was wrong with my WW scale yesterday and today, but it’s been faithful for years and runs on fresh batteries.

I know this uptick is likely from being plain old careless! And I just completed a course of antibiotics which left me feeling bloated and tired.
    Lots of water today!!

@Michieb125 Hang in there! I’ve been going through the same thing. I gained about 5 lbs this month! It’s starting to come off now. I feel mortified too.

I went to the Ontario art gallery today. I think I’ve finally seen everything in the gallery which is good since my annual pass expires soon. I got 2.5 hours of walking in. 1.5 hours of brisk walking to and from the gallery and 1 hour of super slow walking at the gallery. I had steamed rice and broccoli and eggplant for lunch. So all in all, a pretty good day.

I’m going to revise my July goal to 162 lbs. That means I need to lose about 1.5 lbs in 9 days. Maybe doable.

I had to move my scale to my bedroom closet for now. With company here its a little awkward to have it in the office. I don't normally keep it in my bathroom because the old dog insists on sleeping in the only spot I have space to put it and ends up knocking it or stepping on it and it gets banged around too much.

@MercyRoth -stress really affects my motivation to get my workouts done too. Stress has been high here too.

@ManifestingToday yes putting that in the rearview for sure. Now if I can just get the work stress under control……:) Also, while you are sweltering in heat, we are freezing, Cold and wet , lots of rain. I literally have to turn on my heat and use my space heater in my office during the day. Its kind of crazy

Hoping to get a weight in the morning.

Still working on being more conscientious especially with the exercise. Got home from work after a twelve hour day but managed to get fifteen min on the trampoline.

The sun is finally going to show up today for the first time in a week. The epic amounts of rain from last few days will finally stop. The pool has sprung a leak and has slowly emptied itself over the course of the last several days. I am assuming that since there is only 8-10 inches of water remaining today the leak is that the bottom somewhere, probably the lower seam if I had to guess. The hubby still isn't home and with everything I am already dealing with, it will just sit there until he gets home Sunday to deal with. At this point I am tempted to just put the thing away for the season. Was a total bust this season. We were late getting it up because of rain/wind, then when we did, weather was crummy again and now it leaks! :( Oh well..

I have tomorrow and Friday off and with the way work has been, I am looking forward to it.

Had a lazy day yesterday.  Was pleased that my sourdough starter burst straight back into life and was ready to use after only a couple of feeds. Have just taken the lid off this morning's loaf and it bears a striking resemblance to Jabba the Hutt 😂 so possibly the starter wasn't quite so strong as I thought. Will taste good though.

Have weights this evening and can't say i'm looking forward to it, but it has to be done.
