I quoted your post Michelle but it was gone when I posted it. As others have noticed, it won’t let me edit my post to fix it.

M – yes, I’d like to know the real reason. Like I said, I think it might have to do with her not liking change. But honestly when you have children, as we all know, you many times do have to change plans. “Can so-and-so have dinner” “can so-and-so spend the night”. I remember so many times having to change plans of what we’ll have for dinner because the kids invited friends and I wouldn’t have had enough food if I had what I planned.

You want to know … even if her honest answer is (for example) that she feels stressed, pressured, even intimidated by spoken or unspoken expectations? Be careful what you wish for!

Machka - I haven’t made apple crumble in quite a while. I should make one for Rodger. I don’t eat it myself.

We moved boxes and boxes of books until we moved here. We really did not have space for them so we kept our two favourite authors and a few other special ones and got rid of the rest. It was hard but I don’t miss them at all. I’m even thinking of getting rid of some of my favourite author’s now.

The apple crumble is super easy. I used to make pies and did quite well at it, but it's a lot more work and I prefer the crumbles. They can be made with all sorts of different fruit.

Regarding books - way back when, I lived in a small town near Grand Prairie, AB. The library was small and there weren't many book stores. So when we went to Edmonton as a family, we all used to visit used book stores and buy books. And my personal library grew.

Since then, I've lived in a number of places with limited libraries where I couldn't get whole series of books (the library might have Books 2 and 3 of a trilogy, or Books 2 and 4 of a 5-book series or whatever), where I couldn't find certain authors and so on. So I bought books whenever I found them.

But now that I've been able to use Libby in combination with my local library, I'm finding a lot more books! So I don't necessarily need to own as much.

Yes, Barbara, so sad. Bob and Brad were the most enormous help to us. I had heard about the Epley Manoeuvre on the radio, but wanted to see a video of how to do it. I saw a few, but stumbled upon Bob and Brad, and liked their style. John watched the video too, to see what to expect. Following them closely, the manoeuvre worked the first time. I had to do it again years later when John had his head injury and the dizziness wouldn't leave weeks later. I think I had to do it twice that time, several days apart, but it worked. Soooooo grateful. John describes that vertigo as 'the most horrible feeling in the world.'

It was so awful, and ironic, that Bob developed that terrible disease. Life is just not fair. I loved the special tribute his son gave him. He was obviously much loved. A special man.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
