We visited our youngest son yesterday, but we went after lunch, which means:
- I had time to exercise before leaving
- I had more control over my IN calories
- We spent some time outside with him, so we were more active. I swept off his trampoline, then he decided he didn't want to go on it.
Spreadsheet is updated for both yesterday and Monday. Weight is hovering between .6 & .8. We leave for camping today. I'll see where things are at when we return next Friday, then decide if I need to adjust my IN target.
Not quite back to my pre-vacation numbers, which were:
As I said yesterday, with consistency next week or the week after. It's been 13 days post-vacation. I was working toward back to pre-vacation in the same number of days as the vacation (14). You know the saying 'close only counts in horse-shoes and hand grenades'?; I think it should also include weight goals. Honestly, close is still progress and progress is my goal.
Have a good day everyone!

Hello Wednesday! Thanks everyone for wishing me luck, we did well and we raised a lot of money for a good cause!
I'm 57 years old, 6'2", and my goal for this 100-day challenge is to reach 178 lbs. I started at 4/11/2025 at ~217.

@deepwoodslady So glad the test results were good news! Travel and sitting all day always takes a toll on us. If I were you, I'd give myself that grace day tomorrow.
@ptitejeanne I love the emojis you use on your daily numbers. I couldn't quite make out the second one on today's post. Is it a ladder or a ruler or something else? btw, I know you've had at least two weeks with no weight in the 160s and then bam, today and yesterday; fear not, the scale will go back down very soon. I am sure of it!
@Lilylady3k Hopefully the appointment will be rescheduled soon. Congratulations on getting compliments. That is always such a boost and motivator!
Re camping —> We glamp. Favourite activity…. that's a tough one. I'd say going to the dog beach and swimming with my dog. But I also really enjoy hiking and seeing new places. We are going to Wheatley Provincial Park near Point Pelee National Park. Fun Fact: Point Pelee is the southern most place in mainland Canada and Pelee Island is the southern most populated point in Canada. It is on Lake Erie, the smallest of The Great Lakes. There is a hawk festival and my husband's camera club is all meeting there to see the hawk displays and, of course, take pictures. So, we'll be doing some 'birding'; which, honestly, is not one of my favourite activities (too much being quiet, standing around and waiting for me).@JimnKC I noticed you haven't been including your target IN calories in this round. What are you targeting this round? I've noticed a few 3000+ IN days (5 out of 11). Is everything alright?
@Jon4189 Glad you had a good time golfing.

Busy week! Yoga and walking yesterday, strength workout and walking the day before. Gotta run.

Good Hump Day, Friends!
Day 15—09/06— 162.2 - Started today with a granola bar. Have to hit the grocery store later...no milk and need salad fixings. I was just getting used to the cooler weather. I need fall now. Goal is the same....maybe THIS week will be the charm.
Day 16—09/07— 162.2 - Started the day with blueberry yogurt and a roll. I could have skipped the roll, but it's ok. Not sure what the rest of the day holds. Yesterday my daughter was at my ex's and they fired up the grill so I was invited to lunch. Had a hot dog and tomato slices. And I was satisfied even though they had cheeseburgers too. So I was a good girl... lol!
Day 17—09/08— 162.2- I finished up the English muffins I had in my fridge. Dinner will be a cheesesteak at the ballpark...I have not had a cheesesteak since my mother used to make them...who totally turned me off them. Going to try a good one. I always take water with me, but I may get a diet soda while I am there.
Day 18—09/09— 161.6 - Wow...Although I only ate half the cheesesteak (which was delicious, btw), I thought my weight would be up and I was prepared. The body can be tricky sometimes. Today I had an Atkins shake for breakfast....they are a good low carb start to the day. Will probably have a salad for lunch...add a couple hard boiled eggs to it. Not sure about dinner. Having the other half of the cheesesteak is likely too much.
Day 19—09/10— 161.2 - Getting my hair cut today....YAY! Will color it tomorrow and I will feel like my old self again. I'll eat my other half cheesesteak today for lunch. Dinner might be fish and veggies.
I need help to put the new bicycle seat on my ebike. I am going to try a bike shop but a lot of them won't have anything to do with stuff they haven't sold themselves. If they turn me down, I don't know what I will do. The original seat is too uncomfortable for me to ride any real distance.

Hi : - )
I am Dawn. I will turn 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week.
Week 1 Start Weight: 137.8
Week 1 Goal: 136.8
Week 1 Actual Weight: 140.8 - Exactly a 3 pound gain : - (
Week 2 Start Weight: 140.2
Week 2 Goal: 136.6 - ambitious I know
Week 2 Actual Weight: 137.6
Day 15—09/06 — 137.6 - I am dosing myself up with Dayquil and cough syrup just to get through these next 2 workdays. Drinking lot of water with lemon. I can't walk into the hospital sick on Monday morning and expect them to do the procedure. Hoping that this cold crests already. I am getting my nails done during the break on my split shift today, I will wear a mask so as not to infect her.
Day 16—09/07 — 137.8 - So groggy this morning. Too much medicine to get through the workday (Dayquil etc.) and cough medicine an hour before my break and manicure so that I wouldn't cough. Neo Citran and Nyquil to be able to go to sleep without a runny nose and coughing. I haven't had much appetite, but ate an entire belle pepper while at work and half of an apple. I had 2 dinners last night. My belly was hungry even though I didn't feel like eating. I had some of my own borscht from my freezer, and my own version of chicken biryani from my freezer. Tomorrow morning I will have to dose up on cough syrup and Dayquil again, so that they don't turn me away from my foot procedure at the hospital. No walking or driving after the procedure. I will putter around gently, or maybe just go to bed : - )
Day 17—09/08 — 136.4 pre-bathroom - Posting a little late today. I am home from the hospital and have to stay off of my feet. A friend dropped me and picked me up afterward, since no driving is allowed. I doubt that I will make my goal of 130 in 12 days (my birthday), especially with all of the family dinners and stuff while in Toronto. I got some dance workouts done this morning because I knew that it would be forbidden afterward because I have had this procedure before. Still hopped up on cold medication because I didn't want to cough, sneeze, blow my nose etc. while on the table under x-ray as they insert the needle deep into the small joint on the tops of both feet and I am not supposed to move a muscle. Man, it is a painful thing to get done (no room for both medicine and freezing), but I had such good results the last time and it lasted 3 months. Just having my second cup of coffee now, I didn't get a chance to have breakfast today, and am pretty much un-interesed in eating anything. Maybe later. It is hot in my house because I haven't done the nightly opening of the windows because it has been so smoky here. I really don't feel like doing anything at the moment. Cold medication has me feeling kind of out of it. Not even sure that I even still have the cold because I have been suppressing it for days now.
Day 18—09/09 — 136.6 - I was practically awake all night laying in bed listening to the radio and dozing in and out. First night without cold medication, so coughing and blowing my nose, but I am not sure if it is linked to how much smoke there is here. When I got home from the procedure I spent several hours doing a whole bunch of stuff in the yard. Nothing that impacted my feet, but still I inhaled all of that particulate. I wanted to get a sense of where my cold was at which I have been masking since Thursday morning to get through my workdays and medical procedure. I either have to get all of the garden beds covered today or risk losing what is still there, I suppose that I can wait until tomorrow. I did scrub out my little pool, that took me an hour and a half. I have giant bowls of bell peppers, tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers that I harvested yesterday. They are all still in flower and have small fruits on them that need to grow for a couple more weeks (if covered).
Day 19—09/10 — 137.8 - Weighed 3 hours earlier than yesterday. It will be the same get up time tomorrow. I will be changing time zones, tomorrow. I am not sure if I am going to pack up my laptop and put it in the trunk some time today. Suitcase is definitely going into the car today. I have only one patch in the garden left to cover, some California Wonder peppers. I will be logging and weighing every day, not yet sure when I will be posting next. Maybe tomorrow, maybe not until later on Friday.
Day 20—09/11 — Flying out to Toronto. My travel scale is packed, but it might have some wonky numbers compared to my home scale, plus it will travel in my suitcase - oh those gentle baggage handlers lol.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

🐝🐝🐝🐝 Day 19—09/10— 185.7 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.7) I honestly expected worse so I’ll take it! Some of this is likely some fluid buildup too from so many hours of sitting in the car. I hope to shed the fluid over the next couple of days and see where I’m at. I do expect that I will slide up & down the 180’s for awhile, just as I did the 190’s and the 200’s. Day 15—09/06—147.2 Classic case of what happens when I don’t have time to cook healthier meals. Between work and home renovations, dinner has been quick & easy options including lots of fast food. Add in the pain in my right hip…. waaaah! Excuses, excuses.
Day 16—09/07—146.4 Very busy day yesterday, but I managed to cook a healthy dinner and food choices overall were much, much better. Let’s hope I can stay consistent.
Day 17—09/08—145.7 Again, I made healthier food choices and also lots of walking: Home Depot, Costco, Safeway and an additional 60-min brisk walk with Kaya.
Day 18—09/09—145.9 Eating was good yesterday, so I attribute this slight increase to a normal fluctuation.
Day 19—09/10—145.5 It’s been awhile since I’ve met a weekly goal. It’s right there… I can do this.

@bteri107 You can do it!
@dawnbgethealthy I can’t believe you travel with a scale! Admittedly, I looked at our scale this morning and thought about stashing it in the trailer. But it is glass and I had Visions of broken glass everywhere. Enjoy your trip!
@Crochetluvr Our bike seats just have a tool-less lever to release them. Never mind, you don’t mean removing the seat from the bike; you mean removing the seat from the mount. That should only be a couple of bolts. Some communities have fix-it days at their local community centers or libraries. Good luck!

Is it a ladder or a ruler or something else? btw, I know you've had at least two weeks with no weight in the 160s and then bam, today and yesterday; fear not, the scale will go back down very soon. I am sure of it!”
the emoji with ”ladder” must be the little face with the fake smile seeing all the teeth”. I guess it’s a “Grimacing Face” according to google haha.Usually a thumb up or down or an “X”.
Yes I’m having a good run away from the 60s. Finally!! But they came back peeking as my periods are just around the corner and I can gain back 5 lbs in a day or two then ☹️
I’m sure I’m not the only one with weight gain/period issue?! Anyone?

@ptitejeanne I totally agree any little bit down on the scale is a win as long as I'm not jumping up 5 pounds I feel better about my progress. That tipping over a 5 or 10 pound increment should send me into a healthier mindset but not always. Damage control is not my best quality. I love that you are doing so well at maintaining … it is definitely an inspiration for future me.
Thank you so much @Lilylady3k !! Took forever for me to realize that a tiny step at a time finally gets me moving forward on my health journey.I would always aim for big goals, had the best intentions. Then would fall, had a hard time to get back up. Fall again… Feel like a failure… Quit altogether!! Again!! I wouldn’t get far on this path.

Day 02—08/24— 346 Worked last night and I know I could have done better on my water intake.

Day 06—08/28—343.4 Here's the expected uptick due to fluid and TMI but I'm still doing good at weighing in, logging food and sticking to my calorie limits so I'm not stressing

Jumping in a little bit late, but From April 23 to July 24 (think those dates are right) I lost over 70 lbs and got down to 134. I stayed that weight for a good 10 months, but recently the number on the scale is slowly creeping up again - up to 143! Yikes! Let's see if I can drop those 9 unwanted extra pounds in the remaining 80 days!

@JimnKC I noticed you haven't been including your target IN calories in this round. What are you targeting this round? I've noticed a few 3000+ IN days (5 out of 11). Is everything alright?
Last round my weight stayed within a few pounds up and down with Calories in set at 1,910 instead of 1,500. This round I"m set at 1,500 only for a number to track with. Told my wife AI was thinking about not tracking calories at all and she told me "No you are not !!!" LOL
All is well. Thank You for asking.
Looking to start a new workout routine and clean up food intake for winter time :)

Happy Thursday! Ok all my big sports events are done for the summer. Back to catching up on weight loss. I feel great, and my activity level is getting higher. Now I will focus on my calorie and activity for the next couple of months. This is going to be the hardest part of my journey, I am within 10% of my health goal of 178 lbs. The body is slowing down my metabolism so it is going to take longer to get there but I am good with that. As @ptitejeanne said, any loss is a good loss, and I am just maintaining, time to be back into loss mode!
I'm 57 years old, 6'2", and my goal for this 100-day challenge is to reach 178 lbs. I started at 4/11/2025 at ~217.
Day 08—09/06— 191.5
Day 09—09/07— 191.0
Day 10—09/08— 191.0
Day 11—09/09— 190.5
Day 12—09/10— 191.5

Day 14—09/12—Week 1 Start wt: 192.5

Those days are behind me now, but I remember them well.

Does your wife also track?
I’d like to get my husband to focus on weight just a little bit. He’s crept up to 200 (and maybe a little bit more). He used to be more like 180-185. It used to be that he’d gain weight in the winter and lose it in the summer. Over the last few years he’s just gained in the winter and stays the same in the summer = weight slowly going up.
Any suggestions on how to encourage him are appreciated. I learned a long time ago that overt instructions/direction or ‘nagging’ will not work.
I had been thinking that he’d lose some just because I’m tracking, but that hasn’t happened.4 -
@tinathescreamer Welcome!!!
Congratulations on the 70lbs loss!Good on you to keep tracking and jumping on the 9lbs before they turn into 90lbs! (If you know what I mean)
9lbs in 80 days is doable. And if you do t get there in 80 days, then you’ll get there in more days. It takes the time it takes.

@Takarameri I apologize in advance if this is a repeat. Welcome to the challenge! I don’t recall reading your previous posts. Looks like you are making progress. Little by little big changes are made.

There was a potluck at work. I don't think I've mentioned that I greatly dislike potlucks. I opted out to begin with, and they all knew I wasn't participating. Not possible, apparently.
I eat in a very specific way these days. I eat low-sodium, low sugar and lower in fat because these are triggering foods for me, and I'm a long-time vegan for other reasons. My coworkers are very sweet people and I appreciate their intentions. However, they put things on your desk even after you've said you're not hungry, and they are disappointed when you don't try the foods, even though they are foods you avoid.
Love them all, but I will call in sick next time there's a potluck, LOL.
I did end up eating some of what they made especially for me, and it threw me off because of the saltiness and oil. I was tired at the end of the day and skipped my evening workout. It was a one-day thing. I didn't do too much damage. I'm in "don't fail twice" mode today. I didn't feel like doing my evening workout because I felt puffy.
Back to my own food today. No potluck leftovers for me.

Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. Am an absolute turtle at losing and a hare at backsliding! This round my hope it to hang on to each loss then move down from there. Put an end to this eternal yo-yoing.

100% agree. I only learned this during these 100 day challenges!
It was only when I increased my target IN calories that I started making consistent progress. When my target IN calories were lower, I’d go over, then say “I’m already over, may as well have ice cream”. With a higher IN target, I’m more inclined to meet it and actually achieve results AND I’m not hungry.6 -
You did really well!! Not a failure at all.
You voiced your preferences, which is an achievement all on its own.
You only went over your IN goal by a tiny bit.5 -
This is the view from our trailer door:
You can’t see them well in the picture, but there are birds standing in the shallow water.
We were hoping we’d be able to launch the canoe from our campsite, but the water level is far too low for that.6 -
Hi : - )
Day 20—09/11 — 137.8 - Not really ready or awake at this point even though I have had my 2 cups of coffee. Still coughing from working out in the smoke and the leftover bits of my cold, but I had lots to do to prep the garden for cold temps and had to do it with wildfire smoke in the air. I will definitely get a bunch of Fitness Marshall dances in this morning since I will be sitting and layovers etc. and need to wake up my body and mind so that I can spring into action and pack the last few things, Flying out to Toronto. My travel scale is packed, but it might have some wonky numbers compared to my home scale, plus it will travel in my suitcase - oh those gentle baggage handlers lol. See y'all on the flip side. Not sure yet how much posting that I will get done here over the next days.
