@deepwoodslady , oh, how I get the nighttime snacking bug...I fight that a lot, too. Some nights I lose the fight, but most of the time, as I am sure it is for you, we WIN!!
Day 22β09/20β 161.6 - Slept through breakfast so I had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Want to get a bike ride in today.
Day 23β09/21β 161.4 - Did get a short bike ride in after it took me awhile to attach the new phone holder to the handlebar....and set the bike up, unfolding the parts. But I will be riding longer next time. I have to practice not only getting used to handling it, but becoming faster at the set up. It runs well, though. They were setting up for a wedding at the park, so I didn't hang around.
Had Siggi's for breakfast.....may have soup for dinner. Not sure what I will be in the mood for. But, ok....I will own it. I had a slice of Wegman's Ultimate White Cake. I haven't had that in over a year. It's a one and done. Which is why dinner will be conservative.
Day 24β09/22 -Β 161.2 - Had a cheese omlette for breakfast. Used up the last of my eggs....will have to contact my egg lady. Might have another salad for dinner, or might make macaroni....depends on my mood. I am feeling unsettled again....not pleasant.
Day 25β09/23 -Β 161 - I pushed myself to get up early, shower and get out the door. Got my bloodwork done and my nails, too....hair and nails are a big pickup for me. Made macaroni for lunch....will be a light dinner. More carb friendly. And I finally finished the first of 3 afghans I am crocheting for my grandkids....something to remember me by.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Day 29β09/20β 139 lb. Forgot to mention last Monday the plaster cast was removed from my arm/wrist. Now I have a light vinyl one, which I can remove when showering - Yay! now I can shower by myself. Have to do exercises every 2 hours, no problems with that so far.

Day 32β09/23β 138.9 lb plus a boxful of knitting patterns lighter. Many of them are vintage (inherited from grandma) and I've long been meaning to donate them to the School of Fashion Design, which has an excellent collection, and today I finally did it. They were esp excited with the WW2 ones from the Uk (she was a War Bride), as paper and colored ink was very closely rationed then, so few patterns printed.
Next - look to lose a boxful of yarn!!!
Day 33β09/24β 138.8 lb. Nicely on target, losing half a pound a week to get me to goal weight by the end of this Challenge.

Day 35β09/26β 139 lb. Had another appointment with the physiotherapist today and was given a new set of exercises to do. I was telling him I was having a bit of trouble remembering to use my other hand - eg if I'm having a cuppa tea, I automatically reach for it with my dominant hand, forgetting it's injured. He said that was okay, it's normal stretching movement and will help with healing. I just have to treat it like a little child for a bit - you don't give a toddler a big cup filled with milk, you give them a small cup only half full.
Week 5 Start Weight: 139.2 lb
Week 5 Goal: 138.5 lb. After the initial steep drop in the first 10 days (I jumped in on Day 20), I'm expecting the rate of loss to slow down. Plus I have a few social functions coming up - will do my best to stay within calorie "budget", but it's difficult to estimate calories for prepared food eaten away from home.
Week 5 Actual Weight: 139 lb. Not where I hoped, but little wins eventually add up to final victory - it just takes longer.

Day 29β09/20 β 136.0 - I am okay with that. So that is my weight on my 65th birthday. Could be better, could be worse. What a difference at 65, hoping to poop before weighing, compared to my rockstar days. Lmao over here. I started a fire last night, the first time that I have had a woodstove/fireplace since early 1997!! Yes, I googled/youtube I specifically wanted to practice so that I could have a fire on my birthday if I wanted. I have been gathering wood since Wednesday. This morningβ¦.it was 1c, weather network said "feels like" -1c There are 2 little heaters here (3 season cottage) but I did start a small fire this morning to take the chill off. Today will be indulgent sort of. I have my mini champagnes, I have camembert, and I will be eating prawns for dinner : - ) Haven't had any breakfast yet, but ready to get out for a walk now that it I have had one coffee, 30 minutes of dancing (I will do more of that later, just needed to loosen up my body) and it is now 7c it was 27c here the first few days. Monday is to be raining (90% chance) and thunderstorms in the afternoon. I will make sure to bring lots of wood inside to stay dry. Totally hope that there isn't a power outage, shouldn't even put that out there lol
Day 30β09/21 β 137.2 - Although I had yummy stuff yesterday, my calories in were still only 1300 (Prawns have very little calories, and I measured the cheese and stuff. Sigh.
Tomorrow (starting tonight) will be raining 90% + risk of thunderstorms. I will make sure to have enough wood and stuff inside and dry, and bring anything in that I don't want to get wet. There will be no walking outdoors whatsoever, so I will definitely walk today, but it is only 3c right now, so maybe in a few hours.
I opened my cards and presents in the morning. I sipped my 6oz of champagne in many locations around the property in the afternoon. Here is a boatload of photos of that and my "lunch", and dinner. I had 2 rice cakes with nut butter for breakfast earlier in the day, and prawns for dinner around 7:30
Day 31β09/22 β 137.4 - 5am weigh in, so not sweating the .2 pound gain, I really felt lean today. Walking up and around and over rocks is so much funner than pounding the concrete! I kayaked yesterday and thought of you Lynn.
At 5:30am I was drinking a coffee, cueing up some workouts, it was pitch dark, but strangely warm in the cabin compared to this week. 10 minutes later the power went out! I lit a couple of candles and turned on the mobile data on my phone. First I checked the circuit breakers of course. Being so remote I was unsure if this area would get power back on. When I found the map of outages and clicked on the spot it looked like it would be back on here at 9am. It went far, right into the GTA. Of course I wanted another coffee, but no way to heat the water for my road coffee, instant. It came on around 7:30.
I was really looking forward to a rainy day, one that would have me relax inside, read and stuff, do a gazillion dance workout songs, listen to science shows.
I felt like yesterday was a turning point and today (after the power came back on), I felt like I was fully present with being here, and comfortable. I knew that it would take me awhile to wind right down, and it took Wednesday - Monday.
The rain was just intermittent, and not as the weather network had suggested. I did circles around the property many many times, went up and walked the road, all in between bursts of rain, during which I did dance workouts and read bits of the local paper.
Very good day even though it was surreal early in the morning without power in the darkness.
Day 32β09/23 β 137.4 - It is raining today, sounds so lovely. It is quite warm for a morning, 18c, hardly any wind. Forecast is for 30% chance of rain increasing to 40% chance of thunderstorms from noon until 11pm. Not lighting a fire this morning, but building it here and there. I have had my 2 coffees, about to have a rice cake and nut butter (I was sure glad that I had lots of that available during the power outage yesterday). No particular plans for today other than to read some of my book in the bunkie, some of it in the gazebo. I will definitely do lots of Fitness Marshall dances here and there : - ) Going to just try to relax and enjoy a free day.
Day 33β09/24 β 137.8 - Small rise in weight. I can see that my weight was pretty much the same since the day of my birthday, the 20th. Since then I have eaten exactly the same thing every day. My calories have been good, and my output has been good, always a nice deficit at the end of each day. The one wrinkle is that I have been having 1/4oz of Camembert and 1/2oz of Montpelier cheese each day. Normally I don't eat cheese. I still have the same amount left for today. I am down to 4 cashews and 1/2oz of Grand Marnier. I had my last 6oz bottle of champagne yesterday with my cheese portions. Tomorrow I am travelling to a motel close to Toronto Pearson airport. This morning I am taking my garbage to the dump, which is only open today from 8am-2pm. I wanted to take it earlier because of the prawn tails in there, but there wasn't anywhere to take it. It is just becoming light now. I lit a nice fire this morning and am about to have my second cup of coffee. Friday night I will be home. I am definitely going to be having my once per 3 months Ribs on Friday or Saturday. I was melancholy wandering around here yesterday, knowing that I am leaving just as I was really settling in. I will be happy to be home though, and happy to be at the motel near Toronto tomorrow night so that I can finally have a bath, only a small stand up shower without lights here. Below has been my typical calories in/out, except for I only did 50 minutes of Fitness Marshall songs throughout the day yesterday (during bouts of rain) but the day before I did 69 minutes so the chart looked a little different. Input, like I mentioned has been the same, since I have what I brought here to the cabin from the city, no more, no less. In and around that 1200 calories which is my norm even though I have gained almost 2 pounds since my birthday.
Day 34β09/25 β 137.0 - I was up way too early, first woke at 4am and then got up at 5am. Almost a pound drop on the scale though. I got to see it become light out one last time. Overcast, so it was gradual. Supposed to be raining all day today, but not yet. No cheese eating yesterday. I have 1/4oz of Camembert left, and 1/2oz of Montpelier. I have about 2/3 of a cup left in the egg whites carton, I will have that before I leave today and put cheese in it, no toast left lol I had my 1/2oz of Grand Marnier that was left yesterday sipped slowly in the Gazebo, so close to the water and a bit of a breeze so that I could clearly hear the water lapping. I don't plan on leaving until around noon, so will putter packing things, some for the motel tonight, I will assemble snacks for the plane and for the layover tomorrow - while I still have knives and stuff here. I will walk the property many times, and get some good workouts in because I will be driving all day. Sad to leave here, but eager to have a nice bath in the motel tonight. I will probably cry as I visit all of my special (to me) spots along the property and take my last photos. I will remember my 65th birthday trip very fondly, and forever.
Day 35β09/26 β 136.2 - I am in a motel not far from the airport. What a luxury it was to sleep on a good bed and most importantly have a great bath last night! It will be a long day of travel, I have to take lots of food with me which I prepped at the cabin and put in the fridge here: cut up green pepper, cut up apple, crackers and hummus, a sandwich. That will be for the first flight and for the layover in Calgary. The next time that I post I will be home!

ahh, the joys of daily tracking and fluctuations.
I didn't post yesterday. Both Wed & Thurs I exercised, went for two walks and did not meet my protein target. Wednesday we went to Adrak in Yorkville for dinner with friends. The food was absolutely amazing. Originally I had pre-recorded it as 1 plate of vegetarian Indian 600 calories. Afterwards, I updated to 1.5 plates of vegetarian Indian + a Negroni cocktail + .5 cup of ice cream = 1365 calories. It is a new 'red' day for me, but it was 100% worth it. I still have a calorie deficit for week 5 of 1500 calories.
I know we are already in week 5, but I feel like I'm at week 1. When in reality, I'm in week 39. I have to remember that this is a journey, with excursions and bumps in the road.
Progress since the week before our August cruise:
I'm setting a Week 6 goal of 141. For me this is a little aggressive as compared to the week 5 average of 142.7, but it isn't too aggressive as compared to today's scale of 142.0. IN calorie goal remains at 1770. I know I have control over my IN calories and I do not have control over what the scale reads each morning.
9 weeks remaining in this 100 day challenge. 7.7 pounds to reach my challenge goal. I'm going to see how things go this week, then reevaluate my IN calorie target. I am pretty confident that if I leave it at 1770 I will not reach my goal, but I'm also pretty confident that if I lower my IN target that I'll consistently go over.

Day 22β09/20β 161.6 - Slept through breakfast so I had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Want to get a bike ride in today.
Day 23β09/21β 161.4 - Did get a short bike ride in after it took me awhile to attach the new phone holder to the handlebar....and set the bike up, unfolding the parts. But I will be riding longer next time. I have to practice not only getting used to handling it, but becoming faster at the set up. It runs well, though. They were setting up for a wedding at the park, so I didn't hang around.
Had Siggi's for breakfast.....may have soup for dinner. Not sure what I will be in the mood for. But, ok....I will own it. I had a slice of Wegman's Ultimate White Cake. I haven't had that in over a year. It's a one and done. Which is why dinner will be conservative.
Day 24β09/22 -Β 161.2 - Had a cheese omlette for breakfast. Used up the last of my eggs....will have to contact my egg lady. Might have another salad for dinner, or might make macaroni....depends on my mood. I am feeling unsettled again....not pleasant.
Day 25β09/23 -Β 161 - I pushed myself to get up early, shower and get out the door. Got my bloodwork done and my nails, too....hair and nails are a big pickup for me. Made macaroni for lunch....will be a light dinner. More carb friendly. And I finally finished the first of 3 afghans I am crocheting for my grandkids....something to remember me by.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. ππππ Day 35β09/26β183.0 β (Trend Weight: 184.4) I usually donβt weigh on Fridays but decided to go for it since week 5 is ending in this challenge. Weighing at 6 am when I get up for DGSβs school bus is too close to my late night bed times. The weight is too heavy as my 2 am snack is still in there and nothing has digested or moved out of my system yet. My 6 am this morning was a gain after an excellent day so it didnβt make sense. It was 185.6. After the bus I lay back down and re-weighed at about 11:30. It was 183.0. Thatβs a 2.6 lb difference in the two weights! Since 183 is closer to my normal weigh time (about 2 hours later) and a number that makes me feel happier π, I will use that today and see what happens tomorrow. Somewhere in the mix I also take my once-per-week medication with a lot of water so that can complicate things too. Usually I just skip Fridayβs and avoid all the confusion and drama. I do realize that posting the later weight may keep me chasing my tail all next week so Iβll probably just keep skipping Fridayβs but I wanted to end the week with a number. Day 29β09/20β 139 lb. Forgot to mention last Monday the plaster cast was removed from my arm/wrist. Now I have a light vinyl one, which I can remove when showering - Yay! now I can shower by myself. Have to do exercises every 2 hours, no problems with that so far.

Many of them are vintage (inherited from grandma) and I've long been meaning to donate them to the School of Fashion Design, which has an excellent collection, and today I finally did it. They were esp excited with the WW2 ones from the Uk (she was a War Bride), as paper and colored ink was very closely rationed then, so few patterns printed.
Next - look to lose a boxful of yarn!!!

Day 35β09/26β 139 lb. Had another appointment with the physiotherapist today and was given a new set of exercises to do. I was telling him I was having a bit of trouble remembering to use my other hand - eg if I'm having a cuppa tea, I automatically reach for it with my dominant hand, forgetting it's injured. He said that was okay, it's normal stretching movement and will help with healing. I just have to treat it like a little child for a bit - you don't give a toddler a big cup filled with milk, you give them a small cup only half full.

Week 5 Goal: 138.5 lb. After the initial steep drop in the first 10 days (I jumped in on Day 20), I'm expecting the rate of loss to slow down. Plus I have a few social functions coming up - will do my best to stay within calorie "budget", but it's difficult to estimate calories for prepared food eaten away from home.

Believe it or not, I weigh myself first thing in the morning and then afterwards. My husband laughs at me and say "it doesn't make that much of a difference" and he is right, but does it ever feel good to record that lower number. π
@JimnKC I know you don't need me to point this out, but your IN calories have been higher than normal lately. You've already lost 50lbs!, so you know what you need to do to continue on that path. I am confident that you can dial it in and continue to your 170lbs goal.
@frankwbrown Nice drop! You got this. 9 weeks and 16lbs to your challenge goal weight. That's about 2lbs per week. I know I couldn't do 2lbs a week, but you've done it before. You know what to do. I am confident that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Good day yesterday. Walked the dog and exercised. Did not meet my protein goal. Had an evening 'cocktail' of Rhubarb Gin from a distillery in Calgary. It was delicious and I stayed within my IN target. But it negatively impacted my sleep.
Started the day today with vacuuming while the dog was outside.
I liked the scale number this morning, just to need to stay consistent to get that weekly average down too. Tomorrow that 144.2 post camping scale number will drop from the weekly average, so I'm positively inclined that the weekly average will go down quite a bit. I just really want to break through the 140s. I'm tired of being here and know that my choices are what impact the results.
A bit of news: After much research and product comparison, I decided to order an 8-point body composition scale. I decided on GE CS10G. It arrives tomorrow.

Day 36β09/27 β 136.8 - That was a long slog of travel, plane delays etc. I packed lots and lots of food: 2 apples cut up into 3 containers, an entire green pepper cut up into 2 containers, a container of hummus and 8 water crackers, 2 halves of a turkey sandwich. I ate all of that except 1/2 of a sandwich, plus I had pretzels and a cookie on the plane. My suitcase was overweight, so I had to take out my jeans, slippers, and coat and squish them into my carryon/laptop bag.
I would have liked to sleep longer this morning than I did. Way too much to do at home, but trying desperately to keep having the memories of my trip alive so that I can think about the feelings and emotions that I had.
Planning Ribs tonight or tomorrow. I will take the 3-5 pound gain.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Day 35β09/26β183.0 β (Trend Weight: 184.4) I usually donβt weigh on Fridays but decided to go for it since week 5 is ending in this challenge. Weighing at 6 am when I get up for DGSβs school bus is too close to my late night bed times. The weight is too heavy as my 2 am snack is still in there and nothing has digested or moved out of my system yet. My 6 am this morning was a gain after an excellent day so it didnβt make sense. It was 185.6. After the bus I lay back down and re-weighed at about 11:30. It was 183.0. Thatβs a 2.6 lb difference in the two weights! Since 183 is closer to my normal weigh time (about 2 hours later) and a number that makes me feel happier π, I will use that today and see what happens tomorrow. Somewhere in the mix I also take my once-per-week medication with a lot of water so that can complicate things too. Usually I just skip Fridayβs and avoid all the confusion and drama. I do realize that posting the later weight may keep me chasing my tail all next week so Iβll probably just keep skipping Fridayβs but I wanted to end the week with a number.
