    ahh, the joys of daily tracking and fluctuations.

    I didn't post yesterday. Both Wed & Thurs I exercised, went for two walks and did not meet my protein target. Wednesday we went to Adrak in Yorkville for dinner with friends. The food was absolutely amazing. Originally I had pre-recorded it as 1 plate of vegetarian Indian 600 calories. Afterwards, I updated to 1.5 plates of vegetarian Indian + a Negroni cocktail + .5 cup of ice cream = 1365 calories. It is a new 'red' day for me, but it was 100% worth it. I still have a calorie deficit for week 5 of 1500 calories.

    I know we are already in week 5, but I feel like I'm at week 1. When in reality, I'm in week 39. I have to remember that this is a journey, with excursions and bumps in the road.

    Progress since the week before our August cruise:

    I'm setting a Week 6 goal of 141. For me this is a little aggressive as compared to the week 5 average of 142.7, but it isn't too aggressive as compared to today's scale of 142.0. IN calorie goal remains at 1770. I know I have control over my IN calories and I do not have control over what the scale reads each morning.

    9 weeks remaining in this 100 day challenge. 7.7 pounds to reach my challenge goal. I'm going to see how things go this week, then reevaluate my IN calorie target. I am pretty confident that if I leave it at 1770 I will not reach my goal, but I'm also pretty confident that if I lower my IN target that I'll consistently go over.

    @ptitejeanne I think you may have a typo in your post for 09/25, probably should be 157.3. Good job!

    @tinathescreamer You are right, "little wins eventually add up to final victory", Just like @ptitejeanne says "One Tiny little goal at a time πŸ˜‰".

    @dawnbgethealthy Safe travels today! Great job staying on top of your nutrition while at the cottage. I'm impressed and now have additional inspiration for our next camping trip.

    @Jon4189 And you pull another loss, even after fluctuating up during the week. I wish I had your discipline. I know that discipline = freedom. I'll get there, it just takes a little more time.

    @Lynn__W I just read the website for the Livy Method. It sounds positive and directed toward sustainable and healthy habits. What did you decide regarding the apple cider vinegar and the lemon juice?

Believe it or not, I weigh myself first thing in the morning and then afterwards. My husband laughs at me and say "it doesn't make that much of a difference" and he is right, but does it ever feel good to record that lower number. πŸ˜‰

    @JimnKC I know you don't need me to point this out, but your IN calories have been higher than normal lately. You've already lost 50lbs!, so you know what you need to do to continue on that path. I am confident that you can dial it in and continue to your 170lbs goal.

    @frankwbrown Nice drop! You got this. 9 weeks and 16lbs to your challenge goal weight. That's about 2lbs per week. I know I couldn't do 2lbs a week, but you've done it before. You know what to do. I am confident that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

    Good day yesterday. Walked the dog and exercised. Did not meet my protein goal. Had an evening 'cocktail' of Rhubarb Gin from a distillery in Calgary. It was delicious and I stayed within my IN target. But it negatively impacted my sleep.

    Started the day today with vacuuming while the dog was outside.

    I liked the scale number this morning, just to need to stay consistent to get that weekly average down too. Tomorrow that 144.2 post camping scale number will drop from the weekly average, so I'm positively inclined that the weekly average will go down quite a bit. I just really want to break through the 140s. I'm tired of being here and know that my choices are what impact the results.

    A bit of news: After much research and product comparison, I decided to order an 8-point body composition scale. I decided on GE CS10G. It arrives tomorrow.

    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

Weighing at 6 am when I get up for DGS’s school bus is too close to my late night bed times. The weight is too heavy as my 2 am snack is still in there and nothing has digested or moved out of my system yet. My 6 am this morning was a gain after an excellent day so it didn’t make sense. It was 185.6. After the bus I lay back down and re-weighed at about 11:30. It was 183.0. That’s a 2.6 lb difference in the two weights! Since 183 is closer to my normal weigh time (about 2 hours later) and a number that makes me feel happier πŸ˜‰, I will use that today and see what happens tomorrow. Somewhere in the mix I also take my once-per-week medication with a lot of water so that can complicate things too. Usually I just skip Friday’s and avoid all the confusion and drama. I do realize that posting the later weight may keep me chasing my tail all next week so I’ll probably just keep skipping Friday’s but I wanted to end the week with a number.
