My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

I AM TRYING SOMETHING LATELY. MY GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE WILL BE 0.1 lbs PER DAY. THAT WILL USUALLY COME TO SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 9 AND 10 LBS TOTAL LOST MOST CHALLENGES. IT WILL BE DIFFICULT BUT I DON’T FEEL IT IS TOO MUCH TO ASK, EVEN GIVEN MY AGE, MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT SET ME BACK AND MY MEDICATIONS. IF I GET BEHIND ON ANY GIVEN DAY, WEEK OR MONTH, I’VE ONLY MADE IT HARDER ON MYSELF AS I HAVE TO THEN CATCH UP. THE SPECIFIC GOALS NUMBERS MAY CHANGE AS I GO ALONG ONLY TO KEEP IN LINE WITH MY GRAND TOTAL LOSS GOAL. IN THE END IT SHOULD BE EQUAL TO 0.1 LB PER DAY OR MORE. 09/22– 183.4 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.7) My simple goal at the start was to lose approximately 3 pounds per month (for a total of 9.2) and I have not been able to even do that. The first month (July) really set me back but I did manage to catch up and even slightly exceed my goal in August. However, September has set me back, yet again. I’m feeling a bit like a failure. I’m quite sure I cannot lose 3 ½ pounds in the next week to “catch up” and meet my overall challenge goal. Sad because that would have let me dip my toes into the 170’s for the 1st time in a very long time. I'm sad about all this, but will try to use my feelings to help me make better and more sustainable changes. On a positive note, I joined a book club a few weeks back and tonight is my first meeting. I’m nervous but excited to get out and mingle.

MFP starting weight 2/2011: 160.2 lbs Since then I’ve come & gone, started, stopped. Weight bounced around from 140-168 lbs. Wanting to be consistent to lose down to about 98 lbs & be healthier & stronger. (63F, & 4’11” or less & small boned—athlete in past but that was long ago). I was just diagnosed with Osteoporosis & I have hypothyroidism. I am joining in late, and I’ve started & stopped so much but once again—I am determined to stay in and keep up for the challenge this time around.

🐝🐝🐝🐝 09/30 –183.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 183.9) Posting one day late due to travel. I wanted to lose 9.2 lbs this round and lost 6.0 instead. That’s only an average of 2 lbs per month, but I’ll take what I can get. Trust me, that 2 lbs per month was an uphill battle. Sometimes it’s not so tough to lose it, but hard as heck to Keep it. See you tomorrow in the next round .
