    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

    CURRENT WEEK:

    Day 36—09/27—183.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.3)

    Day 37—09/28—183.4 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.2) A small drop today which seems to be a miracle because I know what I ate last night and what time I ate it. It was ridiculous! I’m so glad I got my lazy *kitten* on that exercise bike when I just didn’t feel like it. I’m sure that helped. I also raked leaves and burned for 3 hours just trying to keep up. So the extra calorie burn apparently paid off.

    Day 38—09/29—182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.0) Travel Day. Time to go get my $2000.00 crown replaced due to receding gums. Oh Joy!

    🐝🐝🐝🐝 Day 39—09/30—DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW After travel, giving it a day or two will allow the most accurate true numbers to reveal themselves. There is no point in starting Oct with a falsely inflated number and then making a loss in October look easy when we all know it never is. I prefer giving myself credit for actual weight/fat loss. I didn’t get the crown done (yet). The x-ray showed an abscess below the crown. Luckily no pain but I had no idea. I already have a root canal under that crown but apparently the rod did not go down far enough into the canal which left a pocket open for bacteria. Now I need another root canal AND still the crown replacement. I am waiting for the final quote and appointment. I know it will be upwards of $4000.00. Darn, I could have completely redone my son’s 700 sq foot basement “apartment” with that amount of money which is a project that is badly needed.

    Sorry to hear about the tooth. I’ve been there and know having a root canal redo isn’t the most pleasant way to spend the day. I hope the rest goes well.

    Today 139.6 New scale vs 140.2 old scale.
    7 day trend 140.8 New scale vs 141.0 old scale.
    The new scale seems to weight .5lbs lighter than the old scale. It is a weird way to lose a half a pound; in a few weeks, months, years, a half of a pound won't matter. I get more data with the new scale and will be giving my old scale to my eldest son.

    @deepwoodslady I hear you about October. I'm already thinking about how to reduce the amount of chocolate I eat. Typically, we only get 12-20 trick or treaters, but buy full sized chocolate bars for 36 kids (2 - 18 packs). That translates into my husband and I each eating about 10 full sized chocolate bars over the course of a week. I know, I will suggest to my husband to only buy 20 bars, but then he'll say 'what if this year we get more kids?'. I love Halloween. I've got 30 days to figure this one out.

    @tinathescreamer Home scales are almost never that accurate. If you're curious, you can do a test with anything you have that you believe has an accurate weight.
