    I am Dawn. I will turn 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week.

    Day 43—10/04 — 135.4 - Waitress walking is sure not like walking in cottage country, my legs and hips and knees are sore today from the concrete. I'm sure that I will get back used to it. It is going to be quite awhile until I catch up financially, no income generated since September 7th. There are "blocks" of shifts available to bid on at the LTC place (Joseph Creek) but they coincide with my first job, so I couldn't take them. It would have been $1k sigh. Working a split shift today, so I plan to harvest any green beans that are ready during my break.

    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    Day 42—10/03—184.2 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.1) I woke up to loud buzzing coming from the back of my main refrigerator and the food in my freezer beginning to melt. The door was shut all the way so there is some sort of problem. Fridge seems okay so far but monitoring. It is somewhat “fancy” and expensive though not new. I don’t need to spend $$$ on a new one right before this expensive dental work coming up, not to mention the Holidays! My son is an appliance repair person so I’m hoping he will fit me in his schedule soon. Fingers crossed it can be fixed! He does not live near me and he stays so busy because we are lacking almost all skilled trades in upper Michigan within 100 miles of me in all 4 directions. So frustrating!

    It’s Friday! I decided to weigh anyway (although it is a late weigh-in) so I just don’t know how accurate this is for comparison. It was a great dietary day yesterday although I took a rest day from intentional exercise. Today I need to get in some movement! It looks like the weigh-ins are going to keep coming on a Friday when I usually don’t weigh due to the scheduling problem. I ‘m wondering if I should change my weigh-in days on my saved format for this challenge by one day or just accept late weigh-ins at this point. At least the late weigh-ins would be consistent. Thoughts anyone?

    🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 Day 43—10/04— 186.0 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.2) Please don’t think you have your dates wrong. I’ve added an 8th day to my week to change my week ending day to Saturday instead of Friday due to scheduling reasons. My numbers will be different from yours by one day for the rest of this challenge. I had a pretty bad glucose drop yesterday. This can be common with a diabetic but it hasn’t happened to me in a bit. Of course, I shoveled all food in sight quickly in for as long as it took to get my head above water and no longer be drowning. The instinct is Never To Sink. Afterward there is always the sadness and regret but it’s too late. I had not waited too long to eat and my prior meal was enough and was good so I don’t always understand. Onward and Forward and hoping for a better day today.

    Between you and @Crochetluvr , I feel like I should go through my closet. It’s been a year since I retired and I have many items of clothing that I’ve not worn in that year. Maybe I’ll do it on a cold winter day. The weather is too nice this time of year for me to spend inside.

    Active day yesterday —> exercised, walked the dog, took eldest son shopping.
    Over on IN target —> I tried all my evening snacking/craving strategies, in the end, I think I was just hungry? I ate/drank 500 calories after dinner. Looking back, I think the problem is I started with a butter tart and a rye & ginger. Those were both empty calories. Then I had a peach and some cottage cheese with chocolate protein powder. I think if I had started with the fruit and cottage cheese, then I wouldn't have wanted the butter tart and drink.

    Day 44—10/05 — 135.4 - I feel like I have just worked 7 days and it has only been 2 lol. I have a straight through shift instead of a split today, so am working on packing up some food to take. I don't eat much, but I do eat frequently. A sliced up apple eaten with a fork will last me a couple of hours, having a piece here and there as I walk by the staff table. I made potato salad last night to take, and I cut up a big belle pepper from my garden also to munch on. Trying to get back to the yoghurt and granola thing, I haven't had that since before my trip. I put some in a container to take to work today too.

    Easy workouts and good food. I took my mom on an outing. She still loves to walk. We had lunch at a Burmese restaurant. I had a lovely salad. Great day. Clearing out a hall closet today. I am on a roll!
