Jenny, 60 years old and 5’6” - back again after another unhealthy “hiatus.” My sister is here for a visit and we have made a commitment to each other to stay accountable – 50 days is still plenty of time to make some real progress, and I’m determined to get out of my own way!
Day 45—10/06: 222.6 – back on track
Day 46—10/07: DNW – up super early for a quick cardio workout before a doctor’s apt.
Day 47—10/08: 220.0 – did a cardio/weights workout & stretch, I always feel so good once I get a couple of days in, stronger and more energetic. Maybe by the end of the week I’ll break even to where I was. 🙄

135.0136.5Week 5 Actual Weight: 136.2
Week 6 Start Weight: 136.8
Week 6 Goal: 135.2 (my weight 4 days before my birthday)
Week 6 Actual Weight: 136.6 - Once per 3 month Ribs eaten
Day 43—10/04 — 135.4 - Waitress walking is sure not like walking in cottage country, my legs and hips and knees are sore today from the concrete. I'm sure that I will get back used to it. It is going to be quite awhile until I catch up financially, no income generated since September 7th. There are "blocks" of shifts available to bid on at the LTC place (Joseph Creek) but they coincide with my first job, so I couldn't take them. It would have been $1k sigh. Working a split shift today, so I plan to harvest any green beans that are ready during my break.
Day 44—10/05 — 135.4 - I feel like I have just worked 7 days and it has only been 2 lol. I have a straight through shift instead of a split today, so am working on packing up some food to take. I don't eat much, but I do eat frequently. A sliced up apple eaten with a fork will last me a couple of hours, having a piece here and there as I walk by the staff table. I made potato salad last night to take, and I cut up a big belle pepper from my garden also to munch on. Trying to get back to the yoghurt and granola thing, I haven't had that since before my trip. I put some in a container to take to work today too.
Day 45—10/06 — 135.4 - Holding steady. Wifi was out this morning and I managed to get it fixed. Rushing now to get to work.
Day 46—10/07 — 135.6 - Slight uptick, but very late dinner. I expected to be off of work at 3pm and doing so many things that I need to do in my garden - I worked until 9pm because someone was sick. I took only one apple cut up and a big belle pepper cut up which is all that I ate until well after I got home, got cleaned up and into my pjs and finally had some dinner. Yes, I do carry extra stuff in my work bag, granola bars, rice cakes and peanut butter etc. It was very busy and I was grateful for the extra hours. My one day off today. I will get out in the yard this afternoon once it warms up a bit. Sunny and blue here this morning, but the sun hasn't fully hit my backyard just yet.
Day 47—10/08 — 137.2 - Argh. The only differenence was very few steps on the pedometre since I was out doing stuff in the yard all day and didn't leave to have a walk. It was a very good day off.
The full moon is still out this morning : - )
This parsley patch still grows even in the snow some years. I will cut some today after work (or this morning if I get it together) and make a potato salad with my fresh potatoes.
Not a big haul of green tomatoes (and a few wayward jalapenos). Normally I get 3 boxes of them which I leave to ripen and then cook with in November. I didn't really get many tomatoes this year, although I do have about 6 or 7 nice ripe ones for tomato sandwiches which I am having one of each day.
This Tiny Tom (little orange tomatoes) still has many flowers on it. I ate the ripe ones as I was standing there and am going to keep that big pot covered and maybe I will get more?
Same for yellow pear, another small variety in a tree pot
Again, I ate the ripe ones
Still lots of green ones on there
I have 2 of these main pepper beds, which is also where the onions grow. This one has a few small peppers still growing and some onions. The other one I dug all of the onions, mostly white ones and a few yellows. I had a bumper crop of peppers this year already : - )
There are still quite a few flowers that are blooming.
Normally I don't plant garlic until all of the leaves have fallen. I cleaned out my 6' X 3' garlic bed and tilled it up, also my 3' X 3' bed. They are ready to plant. They require 4-6 inches of leaves on top. There are probably enough on the ground for me to pant today, 1 week early, or at least just the 3' X 3' bed where I put my early garlic varieties, Asian tempest and Georgian fire. Here is my Maple tree which I planted myself 20 years ago as a baby - to bring a taste of Ontario/Quebec out to BC with me. Still quite a few leaves yet to come down. Brilliant blue sky yesterday,

I changed the graph so that it only shows the current 100 day round. This makes it easier for me to see the cause and effect of my actions.
Life has gotten very strange this week. I'm doing my best to keep the food/workouts dialed in. Last night, I walked up the hill and happened to see the most spectacular moonrise. I love my evening walks. Have a great day, everyone.

Good Hump Day, All!
@dawnbgethealthy , what a beautiful tree! And I envy you your garden!
@age_is_just_a_number , WOW....what a big beautiful girl! I can't have a dog that big in my apartment....you are lucky to have her!
@deepwoodslady , I hear you..…and I have no excuse. I haven't done much to be tired over. About a week ago, I walked into my spare room.…which is a storage room.....and broke down crying. I said to myself I can't do this.....its a mess. How can I decorate? How can I go through the clutter. I sat down and got it all out of my system. Then somehow, I got up and started taking everything out of the room that was piled on the floor and put it in the living room, got out my fall, Halloween decorations and then I was able to reorganize the shelves. I won't go into the whole process, but I did it....I got the room straightened out and the living room decorated. And I am set for when I have to get out the Christmas decorations. It's a relief. You'll get things done too!❤️
Day 43—10/04— 162.4 - Had a really nice breakfast out with a friend....that was basically my meal for the day.
Day 44—10/05— 162 - Stopped at the grocery store yesterday and picked up some yogurt and poblano peppers for the chili I have yet to make. Had some of the yogurt for breakfast this morning. Got another busy day ahead....cleaning and decorating for fall. Phillies lost, so I need something to cheer me up. Hoping the Eagles can help with that.
Day 45—10/06— 161.6 - Bad weekend for sports here. The only team that won was Temple...lol!
I thought all the exercise I had yesterday with working around the apartment would have helped with the weight, but not enough. Still have more to do today. Got all the furniture moved, though. Will probably have yogurt for breakfast and beef stew for lunch. Not sure about dinner....maybe a salad.
Day 46—10/07— 162 - Got most of my decorating done...just a few more things to put out. Need to set up a donation pickup so I can get those things out of here.
Had an Atkins shake for breakfast....will probably have leftover beef stew for lunch. Sandwich and small salad for dinner....I bought more canned tuna.
Phils lost again....I don't see them winning the next 3, but that's what they gotta do.
Day 47—10/08— 160.8 - Had yogurt for breakfast this morning. Still undecided about the rest of the day. Expecting rain today and seasonal temps later. Can't wait!
Heard about the issue with diet soda. Now I don't drink a lot of it....only occasionally. I prefer iced or hot tea with Stevia. I had my lab work done recently and all my liver numbers were normal, so I will be cautious, but not worry.

Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. Am an absolute turtle at losing and a hare at backsliding! This round my hope it to hang on to each loss then move down from there. Put an end to this eternal yo-yoing.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Day 46—10/07— DNW ↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) I’m in a real slump. Handyman is finally coming back today to hopefully start or plan a new project. Trying to pull it together here. I’ve been so busy between yard work and babysitting that the house is a mess and I have no energy to change that. I’m usually pretty tidy and organized so this is uncharacteristic of me. It’s probably crash & burn sugar responses with those foods I am not even supposed to eat. Standing in my truth today no matter how difficult the reflection is. See you all tomorrow.
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 Day 47—10/08—184.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.7) Finally a good day yesterday diet-wise. I hope I can string a few together to jump start me getting back on track. Old kitchen floor has been removed and is “raw” right now as the kitchen is getting primed for paint over the next couple of days. I’m feeling good about that. As it lifts my depression a bit, it helps me in all areas including my weight loss plan. Emotions have always played a big role in my eating…..

@dawnbgethealthy Love, Love, Love the pics! Those ribs didn't seem to hurt your weight in any lasting way and neither did your vacation. I think the secret is those fresh veggies and herbs you've grown. More fresh, less ultra-processed foods. It's wonderful!

Went out for dinner last night to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. Went over on IN. Ended in a surplus of 200 calories. One day is fine.

@dawnbgethealthy Always love your garden pictures. Do you bring any plants inside over the winter?

@dawnbgethealthy garden looks great! I'm thinking maybe some relish or chutney with the green tomatoes……?
Day 36—09/27— 138.5 lb. See - just a little more effort in the bathroom before hopping on the scale!!!
Day 37—09/28— 138.6 lb.
Day 38—09/29— 138.4 lb.
Day 39—09/30— DNW. I bought a digital kitchen scale at the Sally Army - only $3. The idea is to weigh my food so I can get a more accurate calorie count, rather than just listing eg one bread roll, without an idea of whether it's the same size as the one I'm eating.
Day 40—10/01— 138 lb. Only 4 lb to go!
Day 41—10/02— 137 lb. Jeepers!!! how did that happen so fast? now I'm wondering if the scale is completely accurate - maybe it shifted position or something? I think I may have to wait to see how much I weigh next time I'm at the doctor. Her scale will likely be more accurate than mine (she does take off a couple of pounds for clothing).
Day 42—10/03— 136.8 lb. I've been feeling somewhat under the weather for the last couple of days, and this morning I woke up with a heavy cold. So I haven't been exercising much this week, but my appetite is low as well - hence the loss of weight, I guess.
So I stayed home and finished knitting a baby blanket - once I gift it, that will be over 2 pounds of yarn gone from my stash.
Week 6 Start Weight: 139 lb
Week 6 Goal: Started off by dropping 0.5 lb overnight, so will aim for sustaining that loss. Any further reduction will be a bonus.
Week 6 Actual Weight: 136.8 lb. Wow! beat goal by 2.2 lbs - albeit not in the best way. I suspect my appetite will return next week, and there may be some overeating……
Day 43—10/04— 136.7 lb.
Day 44—10/05— 136.5 lb. feeling unwell today, so mostly stayed in bed, just sipping water. Felt better around dinner time, but not up to cooking much. So I just microwaved a sweet potato and sprinkled on some grated cheese. It was very good and very filling.
Day 45—10/06— 136 lb. Feeling a little better today, but when I went outside to put the recyling out for collection, the cold wind caught my chest badly, and I was coughing for quite a while after. Ate quite a lot of fruit, which also turned out to be Not.The.Best.Idea.
Day 46—10/07— 136.1 lb. Thanks to all who offered good wishes for my recovery. Feeling stronger today, and the sun was shining brightly, so went out and did a little shopping. I did have a scheduled lunch date in town, but cancelled as I don't want to spread germs.

Hi I'm Jenny, 60 years old and 5’6” - back again after another unhealthy “hiatus.” My sister is here for a visit and we have made a commitment to each other to stay accountable – 50 days is still plenty of time to make some real progress, and I’m determined to get out of my own way!
Day 48—10/09: 219.2 – good to see the water whoosh is continuing, did a standing pilates workout & stretch this morning. Now to troubleshoot computer issues, ugh!

I don't bring anything inside, most things are in the ground and are finished their cycle. I do freeze quite a bit. In the winter I sprout for fresh food. fenugreek is my fave. Happy Anniversary!!
Those few paltry tomatoes are in a box and when they are ripe will go into a chili or something. I don't really eat chutney or relish, but good idea. There isn't even enough for one jar. I normally have 3 or 4 big boxes of green tomatoes this time of year which ripen up nicely for cooking jambalaya, curry, etc. Kind of disappointing with the yield this year, however, I have been having a tomato sandwich every day since August so that is great. I have enough ripe ones left for about 3 or 4 more sandwiches. I had a bumper crop of peppers this year though, and got hardly any last year. I have already de-seeded and sliced 4 giant bowls of them and put them in the freezer, as well as I am still eating one each day at work and still have one big bowl on the porch that I am drawing from. There will be lots of stir frys this winter with my onions and peppers, garlic etc.

Day 48—10/09 — 137.4 - The only change that I have made to my eating this week is adding back in my yoghurt/granola, which I haven't had since September 10th. I don't want to remove it from my eating, so hopefully it will settle in and not keep me 2 pounds up. I read an interesting article in Scientific American which I subscribe to, it is about the death of the oldest living woman (in Spain) and why they think that she lived so long. She ate 3 servings of yoghurt daily along with her Mediterranean diet, and walked every day. Food for thought, literally.
2 jobs today, and I will be going straight from one to the next and won't get home until late. I took something out of the freezer for dinner later and will put together some peppers, apple, yoghurt/granola to take to my first job. Tomorrow I am working 8 hours at my primary job and then rushing home, changing, and going straight to see Cirque Afrique at the theatre. I will need to pack lots of food again tomorrow, it will be another late night which never bodes well for my weight or energy level. Pardon me if I miss posting tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about your hubby's shingles. I watched my Mother go through that, and one of my sisters had it twice, the second time even on her face. I got vaccinated against it because it was so horrible for them : - (
Great strategy on eating just a smidge less of each thing. It adds up and is really working for you, nice losses!

Hey, Everyone!
@dawnbgethealthy , love your pics! I was keeping an eye on my brother's house when they were away for 2 weeks, I picked and ate some ripe cherry tomatoes off their plant…I figured they wouldn't mind.
@jennysweet58 , nice WOOSH! Keep up the awesome work!
I had my lab work done recently, and all my liver numbers were normal, so I will be cautious, but not worry.
Day 48—10/09— 161 - Had a couple of scrambled eggs for breakfast. Thinking about fish for dinner. But it's time to make the chili… it's finally feeling like fall! Hopefully tomorrow.
The Phillies pulled off a miracle….they won last night! They still have to win tonight, and I will be watching. And it's time to put my house hydrangea into hibernation and repot my Monstera. And I need to get outside my apartment and cut down all the sunflowers that grew around my birdfeeder so I can start feeding the birds again. Right now, they probably have plenty to eat in the wild, but that will change soon.
