Didn't have breakfast. Will have my homemade chili for lunchβ¦.looking forward to that. Spent yesterday afternoon in the kitchen fussing over it.
It's a gloomy weekend here with the Nor'easter. But at least it's not hot anymore.

Day 51β10/12β 161 - Had more chili and fresh raspberries for lunch but forgot to take my meds so my blood sugar is elevated for the moment. I stopped at the (no longer the) Dollar Store to look for glass plates for a craft project, but they only had ceramic. I did leave with 3 solar-powered light up pumpkins π though.
Day 52β10/13β 160.8 - Feeling blah today...the Nor'easter is still hanging around. Had chili for lunch again...thinking about egg salad for dinner.
I was posting back and forth with a guy in Motivation who can't seem to lose weight (he is obese) and every suggestion I have he shot down. Total negativity. I finally gave up....I think he just wanted people to feel sorry for him. He needs more help than anyone here can give him but he says it takes 3 months to get an appointment. If he'd done that 3 months ago, he wouldn't even have that excuse.

Hi Iβm Jenny, 60 years old and 5β6β - back again after another unhealthy βhiatus.β My sister and I have made a commitment to each other to stay accountable β 50 days is still plenty of time to make some real progress, and Iβm determined to get out of my own way!

Day 51β10/12: 217.8 β I was afraid thereβs be a bump up yesterday afternoon because DH and I went out to eat yesterday afternoon, but I kept it to 2 tequila/seltzers and an appetizer of blackened mahi bites β about 5 oz of fish strips. Yummy and I felt like it was a treat without going overboard, and the scale still is on a downward trend so yay! Did a pilates workout & stretch and ready to enjoy some football. J
Day 52β10/13: 217.2 β I canβt remember the last time I weighed in on a Monday and didnβt at least have a water weight bump up from loosening the reins over the weekend. I kept the βloosenngβ very moderate though and was conscious of my calorie intake so Iβm proud of that. Did a great cardio and stretch this morning and back to strictness today!
Day 53β10/14: 217.6 β I knew the streak had to end sooner or later! Iβve pushed a little harder in my workouts the past couple of days, so might be a bit of inflammation. Or maybe yesterday's was artificially low because of the sweaty workout. π

I dashed off to work, but left my watch on the charger, so there is no data for yesterday. The food part went well. We've been dealing with a family emergency that began early last week. That's a story for another day, but my workouts are "meh" right now. That's life β things happen.

Day 50β10/11 β 135.8 - The show last night was amazing. Highly recommended if they come near you. Kalabante Cirque Afrique. Music, dancing, acrobatics, humour, audience engagement. I will try to find a video or something to post here. Tight for time this morning. Split shift, and I have lots to do to get the rest my garlic in and get the leaves raked to put on top before the temps drop dramatically tomorrow. Snow is in the forecast.

Day 51β10/12 β 136.8 - Up an entire pound somehow. Food was good and lots of exercise. Split shift today. It is 4c and looks like it rained last night. Garlic is all planted, leaves are 6" on top. All that is left in the garden now is carrots in 2 locations, and beets in 2 locations. They are fine, once it went to minus 20 and I thought that I would lose my beets, but I googled and it only makes them sweeter, so once it warmed enough to dig (it was a temporary cold snap) I harvested and they were delicious. I don't like to pull those things until I am ready to peel and process, because especially the beets' skins get soft after about 24 hours and are too hard to peel. I don't like the cook then peel method, I lose too much of their deep ruby colour which I love.
Day 52β10/13 β 136.2 - I got a voucher for a free Domino's pizza which was about to expire, so I am picking it up after work today. The last time that I had a pizza from an actual pizzeria was February 2023. Normally I will make my own pita pizza where I can control the calories. I am prepared for a bump up in weight, and I am not going to beat myself up over it. Having said that, I am going to keep my eating very light during the day today.
Day 53β10/14 β 136.8 - The pizza came with 6 slices. I ate 3 and then was almost comatose lol. I will have a piece in the toaster oven for brunch today. Day off. It was -3 here this morning, and -1 now. I will putter around inside today and when it warms up a bit get a few of my garden beds weeded and coveredβ¦or not. I have been battling a sore shoulder since last Thursday when I worked at the retirement/LTC home and was hauling tables and chairs. Makes it tough to sleep since that is my favoured side. Tylenol this morning. I have to keep up this 6 days a week work week until 2026, but I am honestly knackered.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We canβt control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

I must prove to my body that I respect it and will not make THAT the norm. Also, Iβm traveling Wednesday back to my accountant near Lake Huron. Lunch will be out and I MUST keep it reasonable. I really want to touch the 170βs and then get that magic 7 in place!
πππππ Day 53β10/14β 181.4 β (Trend Weight: 183.7) Iβve been keeping my weekly reduced goals the same since the beginning of the challenge (so far). I am hoping to slowly catch up and be at goal by the end of the challenge although this IS the hardest time of the year. My goal each week is a 0.7 lb loss so in Week 8 I have 3.1 extra pounds to make up for from previous weeks plus the additional current 0.7. Iβll make up as much as I can this week although tomorrowβs travel may set me back a minute. I really want to try to stick to original goals for as long as I can. Either I come in very far away in the end, or very close. I may even reach them. But I donβt want to change where I want to be. Not this round anyway. Itβs just how Iβm feeling in this moment. A small uptick today probably due to no TMI. Yesterday was a good day for calories, carbs and exercise. I just wasnβt as hungry as usual and left food on my plate at every meal.

@dawnbgethealthy Glad you are enjoying the pizza. -3; yikes! I feel like it is too early for that. Last week, we were in Huntsville and it went negative overnight. In the GTA, we had an unseasonal high of 20 today. Tomorrow things are expected to return to more seasonal temps. I hope your shoulder recovers quickly. I find Voltaren and icing help when I over do it.
@deepwoodslady I hear you regarding moving goals vs sticking to it goals. Weβve debated that in a previous 100 day thread. To deal with this, I did a βfrozenβ projection from June 15th. I have 4 alternatives: Where Iβd be if I lost 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 per week since June. Then I compare that to where I actually am. I also added columns for βbeatβ vs βbehindβ. I also have a dynamically updated forecast based on the actual and where Iβd be if I lost 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 per week from where I am now. I know Iβve completely over engineered this. But I find seeing those βbeatβs helps to keep me motivated.
BTW, I know you know this, but losing 4lbs in one week is not realistic.4 -

Day 50 ~ 10/11: 172.8 Worked afternoon shift; foot is sore so itβs a struggle. Hubby remains unwell so picking up βhis jobsβ too. Focus of Livy program for this week is βdownsizingβ the amount we eat; leave a bit of food uneaten. Thisβs really messing with my serenity. Realizing that the fear of being hungry is stemming from the JOY I feel when I donβt have the urge to eat in the evening. My fear is now that Iβm running a bit hungry Iβll start βmindless evening grazingβ. Happened a bit last night but only finished half of Rice Krispies, almond milk and banana. Did indulge in 8 small crackers with butter. Iβm not doing very well with including βhealthy fatsβ into my meals.

Notice Iβve easily shifted to using a smaller plate ( used to resist doing this). Since starting this plan my servings have slowly shrunk, so downsizing this week is really being noticed. Also have easily shifted away from the heavier carbs like potatoes etc. Also finding that glass of wine isnβt as important; perhaps this is because of the fear of its triggering cravings.
Day 52 ~ 10/13: 171.6 Another night of broken sleep so a late start to the day. Stopping at Dollar Store to pick up Thanksgiving napkins and cards for the tables at work tonite. Β Bringing home turkey for dinner tonight; will be cooking our own Turkey dinner next Saturday when sons are here. Dinner was yummyπ , bit I allowed myself to slip into snacking on crackers, butter and p bttr.
Day 53 ~ 10/14: 173 Back on βthe programβ! Have slipped into mindless scrolling on my phone. Deleted βgameβ apps. Need to re establish evening routines so sleep is better.

@jennysweet58 I find it helpful to go to Reports and look at the graph for Weight every now and then. You will see the line goes up and down, but the overall trend is heading one way or the other - kinda like the share market reports. Don't worry if XYZ Company is down 2 cents today if the annual report shows regular profits.

Didn't exercise yesterday. Did walk the dog and worked on unloading and wintering the trailer. We will be selling our current trailer in the spring (after we've received and 'moved into' the new trailer), so I spent a couple of hours putting stain on all the cupboards and cleaning. I'll need to give it a deep clean in the spring. We have a few more steps and then it should go back to storage for the winter by the end of the week.

Day 50β10/11: 218.2 β did a longer cardio/weights workout & stretch. Definitely feeling more locked in than I have in a long time!
Halfway Progress Report: β¦..Pounds Lost so Far: 6.8
Day 51β10/12: 217.8 β I was afraid thereβs be a bump up yesterday afternoon because DH and I went out to eat yesterday afternoon, but I kept it to 2 tequila/seltzers and an appetizer of blackened mahi bites β about 5 oz of fish strips. Yummy and I felt like it was a treat without going overboard, and the scale still is on a downward trend so yay! Did a pilates workout & stretch and ready to enjoy some football. J
Day 52β10/13: 217.2 β I canβt remember the last time I weighed in on a Monday and didnβt at least have a water weight bump up from loosening the reins over the weekend. I kept the βloosenngβ very moderate though and was conscious of my calorie intake so Iβm proud of that. Did a great cardio and stretch this morning and back to strictness today!
Day 53β10/14: 217.6 β I knew the streak had to end sooner or later! Iβve pushed a little harder in my workouts the past couple of days, so might be a bit of inflammation.
Day 54β10/15: 217.4 β Did a lower intensity standing Pilates workout & stretch, I feel great. I think I needed a little recovery!

@deepwoodslady & anyone else who is interested. This is the projection vs actual that I was mentioning yesterday:
The green and red highlighted values are the projected date I'd reach my goal vs the June 15th static projected date. Right now, if I continued to lose 0.3lbs/week, then I'd reach goal in late Sept 2026 and this is before early Jan 2027, which is when I would have met goal if I had continued to lose 0.3lbs/week since June 15, 2025.
This tells me that since June 15th, I've done better than lose 0.5lbs/week and not quite at 0.7lbs/week.
On the same tab I also have this summary:
This summary gives me averages for 2025 based on "my week" (which is Monday to Sunday). The columns with the multi-colours are a graduated conditional formatting, in which the darker the green the smaller the number and the darker the red the higher the number. The Average Calories IN for the current week is always too low because it includes the current day, which is still blank.
By far, this graph is my favourite:
This shows 7 day Average IN calories from 1 week ago (orange line) as compared to current 7 day Average weight (the blue line). Based on this, I know that I'm heading toward a small uptick in weight because my average calories IN from a week ago were higher. The pattern is clear to me and the scale is following suit. I'm dialing in the IN calories to course correct.
I had previously created a template for my tracking spreadsheet and tried to share it in MFP. It does not allow for Excel uploads. I saved it to a Google Drive and provided the link. It was an earlier version, but I'm happy to update it and share a new link if anyone thinks they'd like to use it.

I finally changed my profile icon. I've been debating about it for awhile. Decided to go with a drawing of our dog, Luna, that our next door neighbour did for us. What do you think? Is it too hard to see? Should I change it to something else or return to the smiling sunshine?

Weight is still creeping in the right direction. I don't care if it is happening slowly as long as it is happening. Crazy week. The food was on target yesterday, but there was no time for a workout. Today may be similar. Have a great day, everyone.

Day 51β10/12β 161 - Had more chili and fresh raspberries for lunch but forgot to take my meds so my blood sugar is elevated for the moment. I stopped at the (no longer the) Dollar Store to look for glass plates for a craft project, but they only had ceramic. I did leave with 3 solar-powered light up pumpkins π though.
Day 52β10/13β 160.8 - Feeling blah today...the Nor'easter is still hanging around. Had chili for lunch again...thinking about egg salad for dinner.
I was posting back and forth with a guy in Motivation who can't seem to lose weight (he is obese) and every suggestion I have he shot down. Total negativity. I finally gave up....I think he just wanted people to feel sorry for him. He needs more help than anyone here can give him but he says it takes 3 months to get an appointment. If he'd done that 3 months ago, he wouldn't even have that excuse.
