    I am Dawn. I turned 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week. I eat everything, just less of it and/or less often. I topped out at 207, at 5'2" that is not healthy at all! I joined MFP at 198lbs. Ultimate health goal for my arthritic feet is 110-118.

    Day 57—10/18 — 135.2 - I hit that weight while on holiday at the chalet, and have been chasing it ever since. Happy to see it this morning. Split shifts today and tomorrow, which normally signal lots of yardwork for me during my 2 hour break, but we are to have rain for the next 2 days. Groan, I suppose that I can do stuff inside instead, always last on my list I prefer to be outside during all seasons, I guess except for rain. I have a great deal to do outside and if I don't get to it before a hard freeze I will be doubling my spring "work".

    Day 58—10/19 — 135.2 - Up early because there is Classical Music on the radio at 7am on Sundays : - ) Split shift today. Snow/rain mix, leading to rain later on today, like during my 2 hour break. I didn't get a whole lot done during my 2 hours yesterday, mostly just Fitness Marshall dances which were fun. Not sure what I will get up to today during my break.

    Day 59—10/20 — 136.2 - Gain of a pound. Well, I had "normal" pasta with my version of Alfredo last night. I cooked enough noodles for 2 nights. I don't really like to cook, the fake pasta is already cooked, just needs rinsing. I use 2 tbsp of sour cream for my alfredo instead of heavy whipping cream. I put in fresh basil from one pot that I brought into the house when it started getting very cold, and of course raw garlic on the top. Pasta again tonight, this time with meatballs and marinara. Short day today with an appointment after work, then….my one day off tomorrow. Whew. A little more than 2 months of this and then I am really hoping to be able to scale back on working to 5 days a week, or even better, 4.

    Day 60—10/21 — 135.0 - Glad that yesterday's weight seems to have just been a blip. Day off today 😀 Dark out still, but 7 or 8 hours from now I should be able to get out in the yard and do another patch. Not sure what I will get up to today, for sure a bunch of Fitness Marshall dances here and there, laundry, cleaning, general puttering : - )

    Good day until after dinner. We had a martini on a Monday evening. We haven't done that for a very long time. Our current alcohol 'rule' is weekends and with food only. It was delicious. I savoured it. Later on, the martini gave me the munchies, so we opened a bag of fancy crackers and ate them too. {sigh} Needless to say, went over on IN target.

    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    Day 58—10/19—185.2 ❌ (Trend Weight: 183.7)

    Day 59—10/20—183.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.7) I’m shedding most of the all-you-can-eat buffet bloat from the other day. Hopefully I can string some days together this week which always makes such a big difference. Last week I lost my 0.7 lb goal weight and made up an additional 1/2 lb of what I'm behind. While the additional 0.5 is nothing to sneeze at, I've still got a tough road ahead. Right now I'm a whole pound up from last week's end weight thanks to Golden Corral and the two days of travel these past few days. More to catch up. Ugh! Keep the faith Donna! Tonight is this month’s book club meeting. Other than that 90 minutes of sitting, I plan on getting a lot of movement in doing lots of needed housework today. I will also do my regular exercise. Only 5 more days left to put more dents in it. Anything OVER a 0.7 loss this week is the goal.

    🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 Day 60—10/21—185.2 ❌ (Trend Weight: 183.8) Dang, dang and triple dang! Last night at 6:00 pm I went to the book club meeting and a birthday girl brought dinner and cupcakes for us all. Another brought cute little boxes filled with home baked goods. The meal wasn’t any bigger than a “normal” non-dieting person would eat. However, way to many calories and carbs for my plan right now. It’s amazing how I can slide up & down between 181.X and 185.X so easily. I truly hate that a “regular meal” can do this much damage although I know all the reasons for it. I’m not stepping out of my house today (except maybe to plant a few bulbs). No stores, absolutely no restaurants although I must admit that I have a dinner date with a friend tomorrow for a restaurant with something new on the menu that everyone is raving about. Nothing fancy but something I haven’t had in years. We’ll see how I feel about it after weighing in tomorrow. I hate to cancel last minute but I will reschedule if that scale doesn’t go down some in the morning.

    @deepwoodslady , I know the temptation. Yesterday I bought a slice of carrot cake. The only thing that will save me is eating a little bit at a time, which I will. But I cant totally ignore my sweet tooth....I simply do my best to rein it in a bit.

    Day 57—10/18— 160 - Spent most of the day crocheting my grandson's afghan. Not satisfied with the pattern yet…need to tweak it. Food was leftover salmon and chili again. I did have an apple and a couple small cookies for dessert, but I am done eating for the night.

    Day 58—10/19— 160 - I remembered to weigh but didn't get a chance to postl

    Day 59—10/20— 161 - Going the wrong way again! Ok.....had breakfast out and that's my main meal for the day. I did a little "yard" work this afternoon....the yard was the patch in front of my apartment building. I pulled out the sunflowers that are mostly finished for the season and cut some of the blossoms to put in my living room. I did work up a sweat though. Maybe it will help. And now I can start filling my bird feeder again.

    Day 60—10/21 - 160 - I got out for a bit and filled my 2 bird feeders....one with seed and one with peanuts. Had to make a minor repair to one of the feeders but its all set now. I would like to have one more camera feeder but for now I will be happy to see the peanuts disappear....hopefully from Blue Jays.

    Food was a couple sunny side up eggs and a biscuit with a small glass of milk. I LOVE milk but with the carbs, its an occasional indulgence. Probably the last of the chili for dinner.

    @Crochetluvr I use Fairlife milk. It is the same calories as regular milk but has half the carbs. I've seen it in whole, 2%, skim and chocolate. The 2% I use has the same calories for 8 oz (120) but half the carbs at 6gr. It is lactose free, has a taste that is pretty easy to get used to. The downside is that it is much pricier than regular milk. A half gallon costs more than a whole gallon of regular store brand milk. However, it doesn't spoil nearly as quickly and since no one else in the house drinks it but me, it lasts pretty long. I am out or I would send you a pic. I will do that next time I restock.

    Day 59—10/20— DNW. Was out of bread and flour, so decided not to buy any more and use up the carbs I had - some potatoes and a little pasta. By evening I was fairly crawling up the wall!!! I Must Have My Bread!!! Quick run to the store 5 mins before closing time and secured ONE Turkish bread roll from the bakery - for half price!!! Carried home in triumph and devoured with stinky blue cheese and Romaine. Quite a few calories - but I was still under my daily limit.

    @deepwoodslady , I used to spray whipped cream on my finger and eat it. And I have heard of Fairlife....just was afraid to try it in case I didn't care for it. Price is definitely a factor, though. Can you get it in smaller sizes?

    Day 61—10/22— 160.4 - I had the last of the Siggis for breakfast. I am thinking of hard boiling a couple eggs and adding them to a salad for late lunch/early dinner. Probably have an apple for a snack later. I am concerned about my SNAP benefits for next month....I hope I get them.

    My dog ingested some silica gel. Thankfully it was a small packet...I found the empty pack on the carpet. I found out that the gel isn't poisonous but can cause stomach upset, which it did. He vomited a little a couple times and wasn't as active as usual. I kept an eye on him and today he seems much better. I usually toss out those packets....I guess I missed one.

    @Crochetluvr Fairlife can also be found in 8 oz and 14 oz bottles too. I see the 14 oz. ones frequently but not the 8 oz very often. All of Fairlife milk is also 50% less sugar so great for diabetes and pre-diabetes. Pricey but worth it to me as a diabetic who still wants her milk sometimes. I do try to catch it when it's on sale. The dollar stores also carry it but it is not usually at a price that's much better….

    Didn't post yesterday. Went to the ROM with my sister and her husband then out for lunch. It was great to see them. Yesterday's scale was before TMI and made me a little sad. Like Dawn, I should be used to these fluctuations. I do find the scale going up gives me renewed motivation to keep my IN calories on track. Today's scale was 'better', but still an up from recent low. My 7 day trend has gone into the 140s again. I'll get it back into the 130s.

    I am Dawn. I turned 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week. I eat everything, just less of it and/or less often. I topped out at 207, at 5'2" that is not healthy at all! I joined MFP at 198lbs. Ultimate health goal for my arthritic feet is 110-118.

    Day 57—10/18 — 135.2 - I hit that weight while on holiday at the chalet, and have been chasing it ever since. Happy to see it this morning. Split shifts today and tomorrow, which normally signal lots of yardwork for me during my 2 hour break, but we are to have rain for the next 2 days. Groan, I suppose that I can do stuff inside instead, always last on my list I prefer to be outside during all seasons, I guess except for rain. I have a great deal to do outside and if I don't get to it before a hard freeze I will be doubling my spring "work".

    Day 58—10/19 — 135.2 - Up early because there is Classical Music on the radio at 7am on Sundays : - ) Split shift today. Snow/rain mix, leading to rain later on today, like during my 2 hour break. I didn't get a whole lot done during my 2 hours yesterday, mostly just Fitness Marshall dances which were fun. Not sure what I will get up to today during my break.

    Day 59—10/20 — 136.2 - Gain of a pound. Well, I had "normal" pasta with my version of Alfredo last night. I cooked enough noodles for 2 nights. I don't really like to cook, the fake pasta is already cooked, just needs rinsing. I use 2 tbsp of sour cream for my alfredo instead of heavy whipping cream. I put in fresh basil from one pot that I brought into the house when it started getting very cold, and of course raw garlic on the top. Pasta again tonight, this time with meatballs and marinara. Short day today with an appointment after work, then….my one day off tomorrow. Whew. A little more than 2 months of this and then I am really hoping to be able to scale back on working to 5 days a week, or even better, 4.

Day off today 😀 Dark out still, but 7 or 8 hours from now I should be able to get out in the yard and do another patch. Not sure what I will get up to today, for sure a bunch of Fitness Marshall dances here and there, laundry, cleaning, general puttering : - )

    Day 61—10/22 — 136.8 - Ouch! I really should be used to fluctuations after all of these years and take them in stride. I got 61 minutes of Fitness Marshall 3 minute dances in yesterday, and 3 hours of work achieved in the garden, which felt great. Lots left to do out there though. I will get some more done after work today and before dark. -3c here this morning.

    Day 62—10/23 — 137.2 - I feel like this will even out soon. The hours that I am putting into digging will hopefully provide a woosh when all is said and done. Work was so dead yesterday. I do Fitness Marshall dances when there are no customers and I racked up 80 minutes of them! I came home and did several hours of yard/garden work. I definitely burned more than I ate:

    Most of my carbs come from apples, belle peppers, onions etc. All protein nets fats.

    Week 8 Actual Weight: 134.8 lb. Short of goal, but still a loss. Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui. (Be strong, be brave, be staunch) Persevere! Holidays are coming up and Will Power is needed, so get in all the practice I can!!!

    Day 57—10/18— 134.5 lb.

    Day 58—10/19— 134.4 lb.

    Day 59—10/20— DNW. Was out of bread and flour, so decided not to buy any more and use up the carbs I had - some potatoes and a little pasta. By evening I was fairly crawling up the wall!!! I Must Have My Bread!!! Quick run to the store 5 mins before closing time and secured ONE Turkish bread roll from the bakery - for half price!!! Carried home in triumph and devoured with stinky blue cheese and Romaine. Quite a few calories - but I was still under my daily limit.

    Day 60—10/21— 134.2 lb. So close to goal!!!

    Day 61—10/22— 134.3 lb. No No This Cannot Be!!! I disown you, you lying scale!!!

    Note to self - About that super sale at the minimart, with mega deals on avocadoes and cheese…..maybe consider stocking up on the bargain canned tuna instead???

    Day 62—10/23— 134.1 lb. Scale retrieved from the garbage and we are happily reconciled with hugs and smiles.

    Day 63—10/24—

    Week 9 Goal: Will this be the week I hit goal? Aiming for 134 lb - only half a pound to go!!!

    Happy Thursday! Another week almost over. Hope everyone is having a productive one!

    Day 57—10/18— 160 - Spent most of the day crocheting my grandson's afghan. Not satisfied with the pattern yet…need to tweak it. Food was leftover salmon and chili again. I did have an apple and a couple small cookies for dessert, but I am done eating for the night.

    Day 58—10/19— 160 - I remembered to weigh but didn't get a chance to postl

    Day 59—10/20— 161 - Going the wrong way again! Ok.....had breakfast out and that's my main meal for the day. I did a little "yard" work this afternoon....the yard was the patch in front of my apartment building. I pulled out the sunflowers that are mostly finished for the season and cut some of the blossoms to put in my living room. I did work up a sweat though. Maybe it will help. And now I can start filling my bird feeder again.

    Day 60—10/21 - 160 - I got out for a bit and filled my 2 bird feeders....one with seed and one with peanuts. Had to make a minor repair to one of the feeders but its all set now. I would like to have one more camera feeder but for now I will be happy to see the peanuts disappear....hopefully from Blue Jays.

    Food was a couple sunny side up eggs and a biscuit with a small glass of milk. I LOVE milk but with the carbs, its an occasional indulgence. Probably the last of the chili for dinner.

    Day 61—10/22— 160.4 - I had the last of the Siggis for breakfast. I am thinking of hard boiling a couple eggs and adding them to a salad for late lunch/early dinner. Probably have an apple for a snack later. I am concerned about my SNAP benefits for next month....I hope I get them.

    My dog ingested some silica gel. Thankfully it was a small packet...I found the empty pack on the carpet. I found out that the gel isn't poisonous but can cause stomach upset, which it did. He vomited a little a couple times and wasn't as active as usual. I kept an eye on him and today he seems much better. I usually toss out those packets....I guess I missed one.

    Day 62—10/23—159.6 - Haven't eaten yet but soup is on the menu for lunch. Took shrimp out of the freezer to make shrimp salad for dinner...will probably make a sandwich. And could steam some veggies to go along with it.

    And the doggie is OK!
