I actually gained about four pounds over the past week (!); so I'm be posting a new "reset" on Wednesday, October 29th. {Oops.}

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to continue on my journey to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. I would like to lose 22.4 lbs during this challenge which lines up with the numbers from my other challenges. I have made the adjustments in my format to reflect that. Good luck everyone! ANYTHING we can accomplish in the right direction will be a great Holiday gift to ourselves!

10/22–-Actual: 184.6 ❌ (Trend Weight – 183.9) I’m still hanging in here and seeing this through because I’ve worked hard to lose over 10 lbs since the start and I haven’t given up the hope (or opportunity) to still make up for some lost time with a few good weeks. Lots of time left until New Years Eve to do so! However, in saying this…. This was a horrific week with two days of travel and one event. One of the travel days I actually gained 5.4 lbs OVERNIGHT! I did shed a lot of water in the following days and managed to get much of it off but setbacks are setbacks. Delays are delays and it just slows everything (progress) down. I’m not giving up though. I figure that whatever I do accomplish is a plus. Thanks to @Walela617 Carole for challenging me to keep working on myself and my health . Regardless of the final outcome, I’m on my way!
🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 10/29 -- Actual: 184.6 ↔️ (Trend Weight – 184.1) I have to admit it and say it aloud. It really pi$$es me off that I did as much “right” as I did and denied myself some pretty awesome stuff, and stayed on that exercise bike more often (even if not enough) than I wanted to and my weight finally settled one week later in the same damn spot as last week. Those setbacks aren’t joking. They really set me back. I need to remember that.

🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 10/31 – 184.0 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.2) Once I got off the rails, I had a hard time finding my way back. I gained one pound this month instead of losing. I’m disappointed in myself as I have no valid excuses. But although I sometimes give IN, I never give UP so I’ll move into November with head held high and hope in my heart. Nice job to everyone for showing up and doing your best. Your best is always good enough!

Hi everyone,
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!🎃 I've been really slacking off lately (a LOT), but now I'm back and will post a brand-new, "Day ONE" beginning Wednesday, November 5th. It doesn't help that now I have a hip problem (left side). Oh, well. I've just got to keep going, even though activity will be challenging until this heals. I'm also having pain on the outside of my right foot, probably because I'm trying to keep weight off my left hip while walking. I feel like I need crutches or something! I will try to be more consistent about posting beginning tomorrow, November 1st. Can hardly believe we are already setting the clocks back this Sunday (most of us, anyway).

🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/01 – 183.0 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.1) Below is my Trend Weight graph for the past 6 months. I did really well starting around my birthday (May 10th) through summer. Then in September and throughout Autumn I have really become stagnant and fizzled out. No big permanent gains, just kind of like a firecracker that turned out to be a dud. It’s time to pick up some steam again, some sparkle. With the holidays directly in front of us, it won’t be easy but I’m going to give it the old college try and do my best to navigate it. I won’t settle for just “not gaining” during the holidays. The losses need to pick back up and push their way through. I never know what tomorrow brings, but today I feel ready! My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to continue on my journey to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. I know some of this fluid retention from the pasta will fall off in a day or two. So I may come back and change this number. Otherwise it will look like a big loss tomorrow when really it’s not. Hopefully 24 hours is enough to gauge the real damage.

🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/12-182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.1) A nice drop back down this week which puts me a couple of pounds lower than my Nov start weight. So at this point I am chipping away, ounce by ounce, at what I am behind in my goals. I really don’t expect to meet any of my original goals from this point out as I’ve fallen too far behind. But I do expect that I can use this time to keep reducing my numbers on the scale. Even through the holidays, there is no reason for me to lose all sense of self or control. The Christmas fudge and baking weeks will be hardest in December as I have not mastered the art of just licking the spoon yet. But I’m going to do my best. Like I have said before, our best is Always Good Enough.

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to continue on my journey to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. 11/12-182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.1) A nice drop back down this week which puts me a couple of pounds lower than my Nov start weight. So at this point I am chipping away, ounce by ounce, at what I am behind in my goals. I really don’t expect to meet any of my original goals from this point out as I’ve fallen too far behind. But I do expect that I can use this time to keep reducing my numbers on the scale. Even through the holidays, there is no reason for me to lose all sense of self or control. The Christmas fudge and baking weeks will be hardest in December as I have not mastered the art of just licking the spoon yet. But I’m going to do my best. Like I have said before, our best is Always Good Enough.
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/19- 178.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 181.5) Wow, what a great week this has been. No traveling, no out-of-town appointments and very little diversion from my overall plan (except one pizza night at the local pizzeria). 3.6 lbs down this week and I’ve entered a new decade, the 170’s!!!! I'm also out of the "obese" category on my BMI and am now "overweight". I’m not gonna lie, I scraped tooth and nail for it and clawed my way to it. I exercised most every day (stationary bike or walking video), worked harder on my water intake and pre-planned/pre-logged my meals most days and stuck to it. I had an extra low calorie day the day after the pizza to make up for it. I treated it like a bill that was due and that I had to pay. I continue to come up a bit short on my protein goal but I do try to get as close as I can. It’s hard to juggle them all! I have hyper-focused on my fiber goal and am doing well there. I continue to work on keeping both my calories in check as well as my total and net carbs since I am type 2 diabetic. Some days are easier than others. I love the days that just flow and wish there were more of them. But as I re-train my body, I know that someday the smaller portions, healthier choices and consistent exercise will become normal.

Happy (almost) Weekend! I'm off work today so my weekend starts
now!My Fitbit sleep score was 87 for last night! (7h 56m), which is great for me. (I had plenty of deep sleep and REM; so the quality was good.) I haven't had any alcoholic beverages at all since 10/30; so I think that's a huge part of my improved sleep. My blood pressure and heart rate have gone down as well, averaging 1-teens over low 70's with HR averaging low 60's and often just under that at rest.I am posting a little late this week, but here is my data from Wednesday: Original Start weight: 217.0 on 02/29/2008 (highest weight

Hi everyone,
Did all my Thanksgiving shopping on Friday and Saturday. I will be staying in today, (safe at home base)!
I will be having Thanksgiving at the home of my son, Amer (42nd birthday yesterday!) and his wife, Laura. I will be bringing appetizers, sparkling cider, a candle and pumpkin pie. My son doesn't like turkey so we will be having Middle Eastern food on that day, but I bought a turkey breast for me ($8.00 for 4.47 lbs. at $2.79/lb.) so I can have roast turkey over that weekend. I also bought a bottle of "Fre" brand non-alcoholic Moscato wine and a bottle of diet ginger beer (also non-alcoholic). I'm thinking of trying this pumpkin cheesecake recipe:
I might get some Light Cool Whip for a topping. Maybe put some chopped, roasted walnuts and sugar free Maple-flavored syrup

🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/26 –Actual: DNW (Trend Weight – DNW) Definitely retaining some fluid from the travel yesterday. As a person with heart failure, I do have a difficult time having the old ticker push it through properly. I am going to give myself at least 24 hours to let the dust settle and then get a true reading on the scale with where I am really at. In the next 4 days I have 3 large events. Two Thanksgiving Feasts and one birthday party for DGS. But tomorrow should be okay to weigh before the big meal. The largest event for me will be on the 29th when I host the full extended family for Thanksgiving. So I wil be coming back a day or two later to post my end of November weight, not the next morning on the 30th! I honestly want to see where I stand with the weight after all the events, but without my medical issues being a factor. I do expect a gain. I’m not as disciplined as I’d like to be around the pies and desserts!

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to continue on my journey to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018).
I will weigh on Wednesdays, but also on the 1st and last day of every month in order to get an account for the entire month. I would like to lose 22.4 lbs during this challenge which lines up with the numbers from my other challenges. I have made the adjustments in my format to reflect that. Good luck everyone! 11/26 –Actual: DNW (Trend Weight – DNW) Definitely retaining some fluid from the travel yesterday. As a person with heart failure, I do have a difficult time having the old ticker push it through properly. I am going to give myself at least 24 hours to let the dust settle and then get a true reading on the scale with where I am really at. In the next 4 days I have 3 large events. Two Thanksgiving Feasts and one birthday party for DGS. But tomorrow should be okay to weigh before the big meal. The largest event for me will be on the 29th when I host the full extended family for Thanksgiving. So I wil be coming back a day or two later to post my end of November weight, not the next morning on the 30th! I honestly want to see where I stand with the weight after all the events, but without my medical issues being a factor. I do expect a gain. I’m not as disciplined as I’d like to be around the pies and desserts!
🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/29 – 178.0 ❌ (Trend Weight – 179.8) I’m ending my month one day early because our Thanksgiving Feast is today so I will not be weighing tomorrow. I lost 6 lbs this month which was double my goal. It was a good month for me. Much better than Sept or Oct! I’ll see you in December.

CURRENT MONTH:
🎅🎅🎅🎅 12/01-DNW↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) My son & I finished most of the leftovers we kept yesterday. It was pretty much like the Thanksgiving feast all over again, or slightly re-imagined. I also finished off the ½ bottle of wine while it was fresh and bubbly. There may be some of the pies left in the downstairs fridge but I’m over it and done with Thanksgiving food. Back to basics today. Good luck this month everyone. December is a tough month, usually from beginning to end, but we can do it! 12/01-DNW↔️ (Trend Weight: DNW) My son & I finished most of the leftovers we kept yesterday. It was pretty much like the Thanksgiving feast all over again, or slightly re-imagined. I also finished off the ½ bottle of wine while it was fresh and bubbly. There may be some of the pies left in the downstairs fridge but I’m over it and done with Thanksgiving food. Back to basics today. Good luck this month everyone. December is a tough month, usually from beginning to end, but we can do it! I love following everyone’s weight, fitness, strength and maintenance goals. Thanks to all for sharing. Let’s Go! Let’s finish the month, the 2025 year and the challenge STRONG!
🎅🎅🎅🎅 12/03 –179.8 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 179.8) I’m finally matching my trend weight. I was over calorie by a couple hundred and over carb by a million yesterday. I’ve been eating garbage choices since Thanksgiving. I haven’t exercised in several days and water…what’s water? Sleep has been mediocre. In general, the whole thing is a mess. Time to get back to the basics. Today I take my older DGS for his hair appointment so he’ll look nice for his upcoming Christmas concert next week. As usual, I’ll treat him to dinner afterward. I’ll decide later if I’ll eat with him or skip it and sit with my water (which is what I do if he chooses McDonald’s!) Anything I have out, at this point, would be better than what I’ve been eating at home since the 29th. Luckily the scale is not going crazy! But how many times can I slap at it and not get slapped back?

Hi everyone,
I've actually been
regainingdue to holiday festivities and my scale showed 153.8 this morning; so I haven't got rid of it yet, but I hope to get down to 150 or less by New Year's Eve.I will continue to post here as we wind down 2025, but I will definitely start up a new challenge beginning Thursday, January 1st; so I can continue on my journey to goal.
